The technician came to inspect our water heater, he was excellent at explaining what the issue was and offered us five suggestions. Called around for the best price for unclogging a basement floor drain and getting rid of a gawd-awful smell coming from it. Macon was the lowest, so Tony came out the next day. He says he removed a hideous, unidentifiable object from the drain and the water flow is clear. I called him back five days later because the smell was still there. He advised we flush bleach down the drain. We poured four gallons of concentrated bleach down the drain over the next four days. However, 12 days after Tony was here, the smell is still there.
