We requested a furnace inspection through Service Today and were impressed by how prompt, thorough, and helpful our technician Zach was. He walked me through all of the steps he would take in the inspection and afterward presented me all of my options for maintenance without trying to sell me on products or services we didn't need. Would definitely recommend this company to anyone else in NE Minneapolis who is looking for a furnace inspection and will certainly be happy to work with them again in the future.

TL;DR: Somewhat of a mixed experience, so overall about 4 stars. Depends on who comes out, but generally nice guys. AC install took 4 visits total over the course of a week to diagnose old unit, replace it, and fix new unit with issues. Currently fixed and running well. We've been using McQuillan for the last few years and overall service has been fine. Most recently we had an annual AC inspection. We didn't take notes as we were told the tech would send them out to us. They never made it to us and we quickly forgot what he had said. I reached out via email multiple times with no success to request the notes. I could have called but I was replying to the email about the visit.Three months later our 36-year-old Magic Chef breathed its last. We called Friday morning and a tech came by that afternoon. He quickly diagnosed it as deceased and we discussed new equipment options. He was also able to read us the notes the previous tech wrote down, which explained to us why it had died. The unit options given were to choose from 3 different SEER ratings. He also provided a few discounts, including cash/check discount. The first confusion was that over the weekend I realized that SEER ratings are only energy efficiency ratings. They aren't related to the size of the unit and if it would effectively cool our home. We've had issues with cooling, and even after discussing the issues, the tech didn't explain that the options provided were 2.0 ton units, which were sufficient for our home. I didn't understand the specs of the AC units, so when I asked which option is going to be better for cooling my home, it would have been helpful to explain that the options were for energy efficiency, not the tonnage or BTU. (I took a long weekend to research...)The second thing was that we needed to get a check from the bank, so he offered to follow/meet us there, not for us to drop it off at the office. That seemed strange to me.The third issue related to that was that the tech told us that the installers would be at our house at 7am Monday morning to begin the install. That was fantastic; however, I didn't get the usual email or text letting me know that an appointment was scheduled. I called Friday evening to ask if an appointment was indeed scheduled. The receptionist said she wasn't sure and someone would get back to me. Saturday evening I received a text message that said the Installation Coordinator would call me Monday to schedule an appointment. So, I assumed nothing was scheduled... until I received a text message at 6am Monday letting me know that a technician was on his way to our house. More frustrating communication. They installed the unit Monday and were done by noon. We had a cool house for about 24 hours. Tuesday afternoon it started to feel warm, and Tuesday evening I found some thick frost on the refrigerant hose on our furnace, and couldn't feel air blowing. A fantastic tech came out Wednesday evening to look at our system. Unfortunately, we weren't told to turn off our AC so that the ice chunk on our evaporator coils would melt instead of continue to grow. So while we waiting for it to thaw, he was kind enough to answer my thousands of questions about the unit and HVAC. He tested a number of things and performed a fix, but he wasn't convinced that would solve the issue. He had a hunch that it was a bad part from the manufacturer that would need to be replaced. If we had the issue again, call back and they would take the next step.Thursday afternoon it was iced up again. I called and a tech was scheduled to come back Friday morning. Thankfully, the same great tech came out. He did a ton of work basically reinstalling the system and replaced one part. Over a week later and no issues! The beginning situations had me questioning going forward with the service, but I was very pleased with the follow-up and follow through to ensure the unit worked. If I could request the tech, I would request the last one to come out every time.

When our wall mounted boiler (radiant floor heat & hot water supply) suddenly went out I searched for someone familiar with this technology and Krinkie's was listed on the manufacturer's web site. They responded immediately and the tech who arrived was able to diagnose the problem, it turned out that the itemized cost to repair was not worth sinking into equipment that was beyond expected lifetime. He arranged for Joe, Master-Plumber, electrical wizard and all around engineering wizard to provide an estimate for replacement with design tweaks to enhance system and cut energy costs. They installed the system the next day (Saturday) and have since upgraded/replaced our thermostats to Alexa-enabled, remote-sensing Ecobee's that provide incredibly easy-to-use zone heating throughout the house. It's pure luxury to adjust temps anywhere via Alexa and to be able to monitor our home's temperatures, humidity and air quality from anywhere. I can highly recommend all of the technicians at Krinkie's and am blown-away by the depth of knowledge and technical prowess of Joe specifically!

This is the second year we have had a service contract with Apollo. I have been happy up to this point. They were out to check the AC and found the Capacitor needed to be replaced after the technician checked it. He had removed it, had it in his hand and tested it again. He said it would be best if it was replaced and we would probably save a service call down the line. He put a new one in for $152.00 after my 10% discount. Now mind you he was already out here for the AC check-up and had the capacitor out to check it. I asked to have the old one and he gave it to me. Needless to say I did some checking and I later found the exact same one in North St Paul for $15.00 out the door. I know it didn't cost this guy $15.00 and he made some money off of me. I am pissed that Apollo charged me $152.00 for a part that joe citizen can get for $15.00. I realize they have other costs involved, like keeping parts on hand, but 1,000 %. I called and asked for a partial refund but no luck. I could see them charging me say, $50.00 for the part, but $152.00.... No More Apollo for me. BTW the technician was great !

Paul did an EXCELLENT job! He came here expecting to do one repair, but ended up fixing/replacing other things that I let go for too long. He did advise of potential safety issues, which, ultimately, led to me having all the items fixed. I’m so pleased! I’m single and have to rely on, and trust, people like Paul. I feel safer and happier, already, and he just finished the work. I will only use Aquarius Home Services for all my home repair needs.

I called Soderlin Plumbing because they have been around South Minneapolis for years. From the first call, to problem solved, I was impressed.
The issue was, I have had such horrible water pressure going to my outside water faucet for years. My sprinkler was only able to get about 3 feet high.
Ken came over and assessed the issue within 10 minutes and recommended a solution. I agreed and he got to work. Ken was trustworthy and experienced. I am 100% pleased with the results and I no longer have sprinkler envy of my neighbors. Thank you so much Ken!

Cities 1 Plumbing always comes in clutch. They are there for you at the drop of a dime. Even when they are backed up, if it is an emergency they make it happen. Cities 1 is like having a handy father in law to save your butt when you are in a pinch. Definitely the top plumber in Minneapolis/St. Paul. You can look around and try and find a better plumber in the Twin cities... But you won't.

I was amazed by the GREAT customer services Silver Tree provided when my furnace wasn't working the day before Christmas Eve. They were very responsive and helpful! Gordon and Jeremy were amazing, professional and did a fantastic job! This company worked diligently to make sure myself and my neighbors had heat during the sub zero temps. I HIGHLY recommend them!
