They are not the cheapest plumbers but they do their job pretty well and were willing to answer any questions.
Had a clogged tub. Went to their website to submit a request. They do have a minimum charge to respond to the call ($185 + tax for Upper East Side during normal business hour, over time will cost more). They are also able to provide certificate of insurance for their work upon request, but do expect a 24 hour turnaround to get the certificate. The team is very friendly and fixed the clog in less than 15 minutes. They also provide a 30 day warranty so if the tub clogged again within 30 days they will fix it with no additional charge. I have an old style drain (the drain stopper is outside of the tub), so it cost more to fix it than a normal tub. They also accepts coupon (just need to mention the coupon found on their website). So overall it's not cheap, but the quality is good.

A tenant's toilet clogged while we were away and we couldn't deal with it ourselves so we called Roto Rooter. Problem solved within 2.5 hours of the call, and it was Saturday at 5:00 pm! They dispatched someone who went to the tenant's apt and called us when he got there and then he cleared the clog. Fast, friendly, got the job done!

I called several plumbing companies a few months ago because I had a leak on the ceiling directly beneath our roof. While several plumbers provided quotes for coming to assess the problem, this company chose to carefully explain the source of the leak over the phone before concluding that it wasn't likely to be a plumbing problem. I immediately contacted this company, and Harold the plumber was one of their friendliest employees. Harold was not only very professional, but he also took the time to walk me through each pipe and explain where the water flowed. He was very knowledgeable about codes and answered all of my questions. I appreciate everyone's help; we will be seeing him again soon to help us update our water heater.

My building had stopped giving heat and I called The Harris Plumbing & Heating Company in hopes that I could get this matter taken care of immediately. A plumber named Stratos was sent to me and I had nothing but an amazing experience with him. He was polite, professional, and quick to resolving my issue. I must say we were with smith Plumbing for 40 years and in the last month they canceled there appt with us 5 times and kept giving us other days and times that they never showed up to. every time we called no one knew anything. This is so disappointing after 40 years to call us and tell us they NO longer work with small businesses. I remember when they were a small business. SHAME ON THEM.

Here is a little backstory…In May of 2015 we had a new high efficiency boiler (BOSCH Greenstar Combi) installed by a company I will not mention here so as to not taint this review. These crooks (those who installed the unit) would not help us when the heating exchange failed. Instead of helping us they simply said to install a new unit to further exploit us.

Finding a company who even knew how to service this boiler was a challenge in itself. With the help of Bosch we were able to find Kew Forest and we are so happy we did. From the moment we reached out to Paul, he helped to walk us through each process. Paul assessed our issues over the phone, answered all of our questions and sent his guys over that very day. He communicated with us daily, helped us to order the piece that he knew was under warranty, and then tried to find ways to help us avoid unnecessary costs. Even after his men changed the heating exchange he gave us advice on what parts to have on hand in order to avoid any future issues. The epitome of customer service. He was honest and forthright from the beginning, qualities that are rarely found these days. Paul, thank you for your diligence, efficiency and most important, your integrity.

We were in a very difficult situation: it was winter, and a heating pipe had broken in an unidentifiable place behind a wall, or underground, in our basement apartment. The heat had to be turned off for our whole 4-unit building. Two other very reputable companies both told us we had to rip out our entire kitchen(!) to find the break and fix it. We were facing a huge expense and a complete disruption in our lives. Michael Donahue came over and immediately identified an entirely different way of solving the problem. He explained it very patiently to everyone in our building, came the next day, completed the job in a single day, restoring heat to our building with no demolition at all! He is truly in a league of his own. He charges fairly: you will pay top dollar, but it is worth every penny. In our case, he literally saved us at least $25K in collateral expenses.
