Mark and his colleague (sorry I'm not good with remembering names. I remember Mark's name because his name was in the several text messages and emails I received from Vigilante). As I was saying, Mark and his colleague did a good job with the new water heater installation. They came in, both wearing their mask, they introduced themselves, we spoke a little bit about the job to be done, Mark took the measurements of where the new water heater is supposed to go, and they got to work.After they finished with the good job that they did, they cleaned up and made sure that the place was as clean as the job they did. I wonder whether they clean after themselves the same way while at home. :)I recommend Vigilante Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning.

Marc and Wes came during their scheduled window. They introduced themselves and got right to work. They arrived at 2:37PM and left at 3:57PM. They explained everything to me. Both, my neighbor and I had a really bad experience with vigilante plumbing.Imagine a stereotypical repair service that takes advantage of peoples situation when their heat is not working, and they do unnecessary work, and overcharge for parts and services. That pretty much sums up how they operate.I am a full-time repair technician myself, so I am more than qualified to rate other repair technicians. I just don’t work on boilers.Their technician really did not diagnose the problem properly. While exploring, he used the wrong tool to remove a part and damaged a small part within it.After a couple of hours of no progress, I asked him to leave, but they still charged a hefty price for his so-called diagnostics service.A year later, I see a Vigilante van parked in front of my neighbor’s house, and I see none other than the owner of the company cursing and yelling at my neighbor – that’s how he treats his customer.I took the opportunity to tell the owner how dissatisfied I was with the service to which he replied, with some arrogant and rude comments.It also doesn’t help that they disrespect their community by always parking their vans on clearly marked bicycle lanes, often left idling. I guess the idling must be a tactic to avoid getting a ticket for parking, as the engine is running.

I hired Vigilante Plumbing to repair a toilet and also repair a kitchen sink pipe. From the moment I called to schedule an appointment for the repairs, I was very happy with their professionalism. I was kept informed about any changes pertaining to the upcoming repairs. Their plumber Raphael who did the repairs, did a exemplary job. He was very professional and was knowledgeable in what he needed to do to complete the repairs. I would recommend Vigilante Plumbing for anyone who needs a great plumbing company.
Mike F and Meliton provided excellent service and were very professional. I was pleasantly surprised they arrived on such short notice to replace the water heater (which they brought with them.) They explained the scope of work in advance and did a great job with the installation of the new tank. I was charged exactly what I was quoted, no hidden costs, and they even cleaned up before they left. I couldn’t be happier and would highly recommend Vigilante!

1st off I want to thank Mike for coming out. Unfortunately, my building had its inspection unknown to me for the local law 152 so I did not get the service I originally asked for. But he was on time professional and cordial. As for Teddy and Hector who were doing my yearly inspection they were magnificent and personable. They explained everything well and were a delight to work with. I would recommend them.

Vigilante was great when we have an emergency situation with our water heater dying (leaking everywhere). Were willing and able to be there quickly (about 1.5hrs from our initial call) and were super efficient once they arrived. The two guys they sent were nice and knowledgable. Plus, the company as a whole was pretty tech focused (used tablets, sent text updates, etc.).
We are real fans of Vigilante. We have had great service and prompt, professional and reliable service people. Peter now knows our house and systems, and always does an amazing job; he’s thorough, knowledgeable and extremely professional, plus he always follows up, if it’s necessary. As a bonus, he’s actually a very nice person, and I’d be happy to recommend him and Vigilante to anyone that needs HVAC work done. Many, many thanks.
Every time I have used Vigilante Plumbing they have been professional, efficient and you feel as if you’re not getting ripped off. They do quality work and make sure the issue is solved. They’re not cheap but then the quality of the work, their expertise and the caliber of their professionals is evident.

This company is responsible for what they do. Since we got an issue after pieces of AC wires were changed, they sent our service man to check right away. Denton Dias was our service man. He is very professional and helpful. We are very happy with their service.

Mike stopped by today to do a gas line check. He informed us prior to his arrival, sent over a pic so we knew who to expect, was approachable and informative the whole time he was at the house. He made sure we had his name if we had any future questions before leaving. Mike was great!!! Thank you
Steven and his helper were on time, pleasant and professional. They came to work on the gas lines, their careful attention saved my building from a major gas leak. I am acutely aware of how lucky we were that these plumbers were here today to find the gas leak when it was still small. That pipe was hanging on by a thread. All these inspections we have to do these days are a drag but I shudder to think what could have happened had they not come and inspected, then began to repairs.
Great crew on the installation of a new 10 year water heater. Several issues came up throughout the installation process but crew handle it with ease.I will be calling Viligante next week to probaby make an inquiry on a service contract for my boiler system.They gain my confidence and you will have no regrets hiring them.
Denton Dias from Vigilante was terrific: called ahead to let me know he was coming, solved the problem quickly, answered my questions about how I can take care of the problem myself if it recurs, and was friendly and a pleasure to work with throughout. Vigilante as a business is a little more expensive sometimes, but every interaction I have had with any of the people who work there has been spot on--well worth it. Never had to have them come back to fix something a second time.

Vigilante's technician Peter McKenzie evaluated our co-op's malfunctioning heating system. He quickly found several serious problems, most notably an improper wiring of a thermostat by another party. It was obvious he totally understood the intracacies of our system, and he very carefully explained each problem area and how best to address it. He was professional and polite throughout his visit. I highly recommend Vigilante.

Amazing service all around! The cold water knob in our shower wasn’t fully turning off and we initially consulted with a plumber who said the valve was broken, but he would be unable to repair it that day.We then called Vigilante and scheduled a date and timeframe, which was from 10:00AM-2:00PM. Mike F and Meliton arrived promptly at 10:00AM and were quickly able to diagnose the problem. They clearly explained our options (repairing what we had or replacing the shower body), gave us a cost comparison breakdown of both options, and an estimate of how long the repair would take.We decided to replace the shower body as it would be a better option long term and the job was completed in exactly the time frame given, which was 3 hours. Mike and Meliton were courteous, kind, professional and knowledgeable. We felt very comfortable having them in our home and confident that the job would be done well.Once they were finished, they thoroughly cleaned up the workspace, explained our next steps, and provided a reference and contact information for someone to repair the tiles. Mike also provided us with a scope of work and photos of the job to present to our building’s co-op board.Though this repair was more costly than we initially expected, we felt assured that the issue was resolved. We would absolutely work with Vigilante again in the future and would highly recommend Mike F and Meliton to anyone in need of plumbing services. :)

Great customer service and just as great staff. My boiler went out last night, the day before the holiday, and my first call with Amy started to put me at ease as she assured me that she would do her best to get someone here today, which she did, and then the handoff to Antonio a few hours later.Antonio was very professional and kept me informed of the testing being done and final conclusion to resolve the problem. Needless to say it's quite toasty in my home now and glad that Vigilante was the first place I called.
Buggy and Wesley were fast and professional and glad we used them my new heater looks fantastic and they took all the trash

While I didn’t go through with the full service, Antonio from Vigilante was on point. The company as a whole has a great reputation, so I had high expectations from the start. I booked the appointmentment for a heating evaluation little after the hour and they said a technician could be here within the hour, which Antonio did. He was extremely detailed and thorough to listen to concerns, watch the videos of instances that weren’t displaying at that moment and communicated each step of his testing in real time. What he was doing, what was it’s purpose and what the expectation was. I expected the company to be on the higher end and they were out of reach where I could decide without comparing, especially for the holidays. Probably would have booked the service immediately. However, the general experience of someone that professional made me willing to always have them in mind for the future may this same scenario or unfortunately if something similar were to occur.

We've had a few great experiences with Vigilante now. Recently, we had Mike and Aiden install a bathroom faucet, hook up our fridge to water and run a line outside for a hose. They were fantastic from beginning to end - they walked us through the options for all three projects giving us different options and price points and making us new homeowners feel comfortable. Then the work they did was top notch, and they kept us informed every step of the way.Last summer we also worked with Peter from Vigilante fixing our HVAC system and received the same level of care, it ended up being a multi-day fix during a heatwave and Peter was so communicative about what he was doing and why.TLDR - Vigilante is great. Both their HVAC and plumbing services are full of honest, nice people that do great work.
Vigilante has done so much work on my house and they have done a great job. Kerry was my technician most recently and I just love him. He did a wonderful job.

Vigilante was quite expensive for diagnostics, and I wish they had done things in reverse. I had told them the motor on my condensor was shot and needed replacement, and it turns out that there was no replacement for it because the system is a dozen years old. If I had known that, I would not have authorized the diagnostics because why bother fixing anything else if I can't get the motor running. But I take the blame for that, as I should have insisted on sourcing the motor first before doing anything else. Vigilante was merely following their prescribed order of investigations for the problem.Kerry was a pleasure to work with. The Vigilante teams showed up on time and did their best with the various tasks. It is simply unfortunate for me that it cost a lot of money to tell me that the problem was what I'd been told in a prior year, but there was nothing they could do about that, specific problem.
Vigilante Plumbing was professional and listened to the problem. Went to work to investigate root cause and then a solution. Explained short and long term solution. Fair price. Would use them again. My technician was great.

They repaired a leak in my bathroom. They called before they came were very efficient cleaned up when they finished. We use Vigilante for all our plumbing needs and have never been disappointed.
We've used Vigilante for air-conditioning and plumbing needs since 1994. They have always done a great job and their service people are top-notch.
Vigilante is more expensive than most of the competition. A few times we tried a less expensive service and it was never quite up to Vigilante's standards.

Vigilante as a whole is one of two plumbing companies I trust in NYC! I've called them out for a host of issues / plans and everyone I've worked with is friendly, professional, good at their job, and overall great to work with. My most recent was Frank who was incredibly patient with my old building and its host of problems, and took the time identifying and explaining all of my options in a way that I can understand which I really appreciate since I'm new to this whole deal!
We've used Vigilante for the last 5 years. They are professional and thorough. They're not cheap -- I'd even call them expensive -- but they're so much more reliable than your average plumber that it's worth the money for the time savings and peace of mind.

Matthew was super helpful with various plumbing needs both times that he came out to help. He was really flexible when I was unsure about how much I wanted fixed at once. You’re lucky if Vigilante sends him your way. He solved the problem, did it quickly and cleaned up after himself which is more than I can say for the AC folks from Vigilante that came out.I trust Vigilante to get the job done when it comes to plumbing needs but you do pay the price $$.

Our shower valve broke and was stuck in the “on” position. We had a different plumbing company come and they said the shower cartridge valve is rare and unfixable. Frank from Vigilante came to the rescue and acquired and replaced our shower cartridge valve so quickly, we were only without water for 30 minutes! Frank clearly has a vast knowledge about all possible plumbing issues, AND, he was able to quote me and schedule us to have a new humidifier system installed in our HVAC for next week! We are new devoted customers to Vigilante, and we look forward to working with Vigilante as our new favorite plumbers and HVAC specialists for many years to come.

This work upgraded gas service to comply with NYC Local Law 152. As always, technicians performing work were great. The job was finished in 3 days rather than the expected 5. Management, however, leaves much to be desired. They were unresponsive over the months of attempting to schedule the work - right up to the last day of work when I learned that the payment plan I was told would be no problem had not been processed. Maybe this job just wasn't big enough to deserve attention...

Vigilante is not cheap but when you get satisfactory service for the money it makes handing over the cash a little less painful. This was the case for my husband and I thanks to the stellar job done by one of Vigilante’s ace workers. He was extremely professional and respectful. He determined what the problem was with our toilet and resolved it quickly and efficiently. We wouldn’t hesitate to ask specifically for him when there is a need to use Vigilante down the road.

Peter and his assistant spent a full day installing an entire new AC unit (compressor/condenser) in our home. They were friendly, professional and cleaned up after the job was done. Could not recommend more highly!
I noticed that my venerable water heater had finally given out, cracked at the bottom and pouring out its water, at three in the morning. My whole six-unit apartment building was without hot water, therefore! I searched for a quick replacement as soon as things were open; the Home Depot referral service referred my case to Vigilante Plumbing, which I knew from work they'd done for the building before. They sent Mark Vigorito and his colleague Wes (didn't get his last name), who came by 9:20 a.m., named a price and then reduced it when the job turned out to be easier than they had thought, and got my defunct water heater out of there and a fine new one, of a brand I had seen referred to on line as the best, installed by 1 p.m. Ten hours from discovery to resolution of crisis! My tenants and I were hardly deprived at all! And Mark and Wes were a pleasure to observe and deal with! Excellent job all around.

The gentlemen were professional and went straight to work. The Vigilantes have been our superheroes forever. Big ole houses get big ole problems and whether it’s a toilet that backed up and flooded the basement late at night or a boiler that stopped working just as early season record topping cold temperatures hit, suspicious gas leak smells, frozen pipes that left us with no water to the kitchen and bathroom- whatever the problem, one call to the office and technicians are sent with the quickness. I love that I can explain what the issue is in layman’s terms, often incorrectly, to the reps on the phone and they always seem to understand what I am trying to say and clarify it for me so they can convey it to the technicians, specialists or supervisors and determine who they can dispatch asap. Every technician who has come through, and there have been many, is prompt, polite, professional, friendly, attentive, explains very clearly post-evaluation what they’ve ascertained are the problems, what they need to do to resolve them, what the cost will be, how soon they can start and approximate time to complete so that I can make a very informed decision to agree to the work or not. Yesterday and today, Peter and his partner Oshane who fixed my boiler, made preventative improvements and explained what I can do moving forward to maintain the care of the boiler, etc were just as wonderful as all the technicians who have come to help in the past. When strangers enter your doors to help you with a problem you want to believe in their expertise, trust in their prudence as well as learn from them so you don’t feel ignorant or helpless. The Vigilante way is one in which signing a contract with them is not just an agreement to provide payment for their service, but a partnership in the care of your home.

So far in our experience with Vigilante, the plumbers have offered important suggestions to improve or protect our house. These were not just to drum up business, but suggestions backed up by government websites or even done free of charge, like tagging all the gas and water shut-off valves.In addition, they not only cleaned up both before and after working, but did things like making sure the washing machine was properly leveled before the left.We’re really happy to have found them.
Immediately after an annual servicing of 2 boilers by Vigilante, the system shut down and left 2 families with young children and babies without heat or hot water. I was told by Vigilante it would take 5 days for a repairman to come and fix the problem that they had most likely caused.I hired Vigilante ,as I have in the past, because they are able to come quickly in emergency situations like no heat on a cold day. I pay them a fairly high fee ($863 for this annual maintenance of 2 boilers both in the same building-1 hours work) because I expect good and fast service if something goes wrong.After my equipment was serviced my tenants called to say they didn't have heat of hot water. I called Vigilante on Friday night and was told they couldn't get anyone to me until Wednesday. I find this an outrageous lapse in their responsibility to a long time client. This boiler has been working fine until it was serviced and yet they decided to take on other projects before dealing with an issue that they had caused.I ended up hiring another company to make the repair as I couldn't leave my tenants without heat of hot water for 5 days. Turns out the pilot light was out, either it had blown out when the servicing was done or never been re-lit. Either way Vigilante had the responsibility to immediately deal with the problem and they didn't. I will never use them again.
My hot water heater started leaking. I tried several other emergencyservices and they were unresponsive.I had used Vigilante several times in the past and called them.They came out the same day and gave me an estimate.They returned today to install a new hot water heater.I am very pleased with the courteous and professional demeanorof the servicemen who came out to do the job. The nicest and most honest plumbers around! Every experience Ive had with them has just been super pleasant, which means a lot.We worked with Frank for this last job (fixing our very old radiators). Not only is he really nice, he is also very honest. He was upfront about what we can try and what ultimately will need to happen, but I never felt pressure either way.Their work is great start to finish. They even take care to clean up! Which seems so basic, but is just a really nice touch.
With the recent hurricane which affected NY, we needed Vigilante to come in and review our HVAC system to ensure all was OK and ready for the winter. We purchased the system from Vigilante.We were unable to be at the premises at the time of the appointment so we asked our friend to meet the technician.Safraz arrived on time and was in constant communication with our friend on arrival time. After the review of the system, Safraz contacted me directly to let me know all was good. I appreciated this so I did not have to contact their office on any findings. Kenny was amazing. He gets the highest level of praise possible. I started a water heater repair journey with a different company that misdiagnosed an issue and charged a lot of money for it. Kenny came on a Friday night (no rush fee and I booked them only hours earlier) and quickly identified the problem and fixed it. The customer service for vigilante was excellent, providing fast answers and the best priced quote I received out of four bids. But to then show up on site and not even ask for money for a quick fix--above and beyond. Rarely do I feel this satisfied with a company doing a home repair. They have secured all my future business.

Called today to have a gas valve installed and two stoves disconnect before replacing. The receptionist answered by asking how could she make me smile today. That made me laugh, it’s like she knew we were stresses trying to find a licensed plumber. We got an appointment for the same day, two guys showed up, professional, wearing mask. We had so much garbage behind the stove. They never made a negative comment. They gave us time to clean up before working behind it. The price was a little pricey but well worth it. We got the job done on the same day. We got what we paid for. Very happy with how things turned out.

Safaz did his best to correct this problem but we still have no constant hot water from the coil. He and Robert know their trade well and we all are puzzled with this problem. Next day we tried Manufacturers recommended fix but it failed too. I hope we can correct this soon. Been going on since October when installation was done. Mr. Nunez was courteous, friendly and explained clearly and in detail what was wrong and how he fixed the problem.He was also properly masked!Mr. Broza listened attentively and didn't dismiss what we explained about the problem, though it took a long time for our heat to kick in, allowing him to find and repair the leak in the radiator pipe.

I called this company to evaluate my commercial AC unit. Although they are pricey I figured they would do a good job. I paid $350 for the evaluation. Joe Vigilante came and advised I needed to change my filters which is fine. He also turned off the breaker on the roof to help the ice defrost from the unit. I had someone change the filters however, called Joe since he turned the breakers off to see if he could turn it back on.( I did not ask him to turn it off) He basically lied and said he did not turn off the breakers only to back track to say he did, and I would have to pay another $350 in order for them to turn the breakers back on. This company is a rip off. I would NOT recommend. Joe is a liar ? and I don’t understand what kind of business they are running.

The heating system was serviced a short while ago but had not been activated. When I tried to turn on the thermostat I was not able to do so and called for service. Manny came today and he was able to clear up the problem. He was efficient, and most pleasant. An excellent job and a great representative of Vigilante.

I feel well taken care of every time. The whole team at Vigilante is good. They’re just pros. And they're consistently so. Calling their office is a good experience in there too. They're all nice on the phones.
Vigilante came out to repair the Hotwater Heater. They came on Monday and we needed a part for repair, the part was ordered and arrived on Wednesday, Thursday they came back, and repaired the heater. Our tech was Rafael and he was knowledgeable and personable. He explained what was going on, and took care of the issues with ease. Thank you so much for making this experience seamless.
Vigilante has the best plumbers. Their agents can explain issues clearly and let you know what needs to be done to get the problem fixed. The plumbers are always on time and have a clean and conscientiousness attitude on site. Also more importnaly if the fix is going to be costly I don't feel like they are wasting my time or money. I know it's going to be done right the first time. And If you've lived in NYC long enough - you know a plumber like that is a valuable asset. If you want your plumbing issues resolved I always recommend Vigilante.

First guy came to do annual maintenance. He was fine, pointed out issue that would need 2-3k repair, suggested one of his colleagues come out and quote brand new system as mine was from 2005 and putting that much money into it might not be worth it. Thought entire replacement might be 6 to 8k.Next guy comes out, didn't read the file, didn't know what was going on. I explained what first guy did and said. He said replacement would be 15 to 18k. Said he would connect with first guy, review file and pictures, and get back to me in 2 days.Didn't hear from him for 4 or 5 days.I reach out. Yada yada gas leak. He says he will come back to take measurements in 2 days.Didn't hear from him for a week.I reach out again. He says he will send me proposal in 2 days. Needed measurements before but now he doesn't.Today is 2 days past when he said he would send proposal. Decided to write this review instead of writing him (again).Mickey mouse operation.
Manny was incredibly professional, knowledgeable and pleasant to have in our home. The entire Vigilante team has come together to help us figure out the best course for replacing our furnace and water tank, which is a huge job and a big financial commitment. Everyone we have dealt with has been professional, responsive, and considerate. This is the third major job we've done with Vigilante. They are the most professional company around. Highly recommend them.

Vigilante Plumbing was quick to respond. The plumber/technician who came to my house was prompt, respectful, and clean. He wore a mask, introduced himself, placed booties on his shoes before he entered my home, and used gloves correctly, changing and disposing properly.He diagnosed my plumbing issue thoroughly and quickly, then explained it to me simply, including my options to address the issue. No pressure, no sales pitch...the manager and the owner also let me know they were aware of everything. A bit pricey, but sometimes, you do get what you pay for. Quality work from good people with real knowledge and experience behind their excellent service!!!
I’ve had two really great experiences with the team from Vigilante. Last summer my central AC broke, they came within a day, they were on time and fixed our unit for a reasonable price. I thought I would need to replace the entire unit, it it turns out that we just needed to change the capacitor - which was much much cheaper than a full replacement.Both times they sent the same technician to our house - a young man name Frank. Frank is friendly, on time, and very knowledgeable. Will definitely use them again.

They are always very professional and I was happy with the work. However, they did not leave me the warranty and I have now called twice to find out how to get a copy of it and still have not gotten an answer. I think overall they are the best plumber in Park Slope but this is very concerning that I have to call multiple times to get something that should have been left when the work was completed.
Every time I use Vigilante they're the absolute best; Faizon came to check out a toilet issue and ended up fixing a vexing issue with my kitchen faucet out of the goodness of his heart!
Manny did a wonderful job as he always does. Courteous, professional and knowledgeable, a delight to work with. We've been using Vigilante for many years; they're rather pricey but service such is consistently received from Manny makes it worth it.

Just got an initial assessment today. recommnded by a friend who owns his own multifamily small buildings. SUPER professional and high quality --sent a text in advance of the visit with a photo of the assessor (safety; nice); he was able to come earlier than expected and the dispatcher called me to confirm that was ok; covered his shoes in the house so as not to track stuff through; thorough discussion of issues and options. GREAT.
Vigilante made it easy to buy the water heater I wanted from Home Depot, and had it installed the same day. Took away the old one. Worked hard in a cramped space. Left behind a clean professional job. Mia was awesome as dispatcher and helped direct me to the models that would work in our low-ceiling cellar.
Vigilante tested my broken HVAC system and sadly it was broken and needed a new unit installed. Despite it being record-breaking heat they replaced the unit in just one day, whew! Thank you, Vigilante!

They have been amazing we have had them come for a couple of different plumbing issues and not only were they the company with the most competitive price they were also incredibly accommodating. OVERPRICED. Unless they were purposefully overpricing because they didn’t want the job, these guys show up with folders in flashy cars and definitely quote the premium if you use this company. Do yourself a favor and call any other company, I found the best one in queens and got a quote that was honest and 30% the cost of what this company said could be the cost but could increase. The quote was basically a joke in the $15k range for work 3 other companies quoted at $5k, and then said we can’t guarantee we won’t have to charge you $40k. You hear of ppl having nightmare plumbing bills, it’s probably from working with the company- STAY AWAY
Excellent service. The daily technicians were wonderful. They were courteous, on time and very respectful. Willing to answer all questions.My only complaint is that several holes were left not filled in and I was told that would not happen. I now have to pay someone to close holes that were made too large in the first place. I think that’s poor planning when making openings.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. We’re regulars with Vigilante for a reason. Great service! They’ve replaced our boiler and hot water heater as well as numerous other calls for things that go awry in a 1925 house. This most recent call was for regular boiler service. Curtis arrived on time and with the red foot covers not a speck of dirt was left behind. All tools are sanitized before the job and the work area is sanitized afterwards. Vigilante is a little expensive but worth every penny.

The workers arrived on time, examined the defective pipes and decided upon a plan of action. They had all they needed for the job in their van, even the large diameter pipe. The work was done in a reasonable amount of time. Clean up was thorough. The demeanor of the technician and his aide was friendly and pleasant.
Rafraz and Jorge did an excellent job of uclogging our drain, explained everything, gave us advice on how to avoid this problem in the future, were very pofessional and neat, and cleaned up everything. I would definitely use them again.

About two months ago I needed the switch on my Hot Water Heater repaired, I thought that I would support a local business so I called Vigilante. Bad idea! I was quoted one price and charged way more after the tech arrived. Since I needed the hot water due to an elderly parent in the building. I paid. I decided that since times are hard for all, maybe it was just a bad day for them, everyone has them. When the valve on my boiler went about 3 weeks ago, I called again (shame on me for trying to give them another chance) I was told that there was no appointments available for a week and a half. I told the pleasant receptionist Jeanine to book the appointment but I would continue to look and call back to confirm or cancel. She told me that the technician would call about an hour before arriving. I never called back and honestly I forgot the date. On the morning of the 9th, I received a call during a meeting to tell me that the tech was at the door. I excused myself and went to speak to the tech. I explained that I wasn't prepared to see him that day because I didn't have confirmation and I was in the middle of an important meeting. I was told that I could reschedule. When I called to reschedule a day later, the receptionist who answered asked me to hold, when she came back she confirmed my address then put me on hold again. When she returned, she claimed that there were no appointments available. I asked not for 2 weeks, she replied no. Again she put me on hold, she returned and said No, we have nothing. So I asked are you booked for the rest of the year? She said, We have nothing available. I said, Is this because I missed my appointment? She restated, We have nothing. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise, I found a company (T-Reed HVAC) that I had used a few years back. Not only were they personable, responsive and professional, they were less than half the price with great reviews and longevity in the business. They also responded immediately with same day service. Save yourself the aggravation and money and choose someone who wants and deserves your business! In these trying times we can all afford to at least be kind!!

I had them replace a gas line to a washer. Went ok, but then I needed 2 water valves replaced. They quoted me 639$! I got a second opinion and the guy quoted me 130$ for the same job. While he was back there he smelled gas, turns out they didn’t seal the gas line properly, it was still leaking. Dangerous and expensive to work with these guys.

I always liked Vigilante and have used them a few times, but unfortunately this is my last time. I have a Mitsubishi mini split that needed to be cleaned and checked out. The men they sent were very nice but later discovering they didn't know much about these systems. I complained to them that it wasn't cooling but they assured me everything was OK with the system. They cleaned the heads, which ended up costing $997... 3 heads! But the system was not cooling. Then they called technical support which cost me another $325! Their conclusion was the motherboard was bad, so they went and got one- $1400... didn't fix it So now I am in this for $2900 and still no AC! They left and said they would return on Monday with estimates. I call at 9 am supposedly the technician was working on the estimates and would call me back... 11am I call and he supposedly is still working on them... 12:50 manager not there will call back... nope... 4:00 i call and ask them to pick up their motherboard and refund my money, the manager will have to call you back... yeah right, I won't hold my breath. What company leaves a customer with a system that doesn't work, charges them $2900 and doesn't give them options on fixing it? Answer: a bad one. *note I did ask the 9am dispatcher to ask for an estimate for a new system... still not enough to call me back. I guess they don't need the money...

We have been customers of Vigilante for decades, through three generations of Vigilantes. We have always found them to be exceptionally good and attentive and reliable.Robert Smith came this afternoon in the height of a heatwave in response to an emergency call about our central a/c. He quickly determined the problem and found a way to fix it within an hour - and is now planning a permanent repair for us to ensure it doesn't happen again. He was extraordinary - very clearly focused on the problem and knew exactly what to look for and how to fix it.It was an exceptional experience for us as customers and I can't recommend him highly enough. He has our gratitude and we are so happy he came.

They were very helpful. I had to work in the morning so they made me their first appointment of the day. The guy was very helpful and looked into warranty information and pricing to replace our water heater if we had any other problems with it. Will definitely use them again if I have to.
As with many plumbing problems, my job was not straightforward. Faizon Boyd from Vigilante tested and diagnosed several possibilities until he found the source of the problem (a stoppage). He also had to install an outdoor faucet that was not a straightforward job. He went above and beyond to make sure that it was installed in a way not just worked, but that also avoided a potential future problem.

Furnace stopped working on a snowy day, of course, at my rental property and when it comes to emergency service the one thing I know is that Vigilante will always answer the phone but charges the most. I was prepared for this but the technician called me later once he arrived to tell me he found the problem and the total to replace my pilot assembly, spark box and gas valve attachment would be $1500 plus the $200 just to come out for the service. Total was almost $1900 with tax. He fixed it but the next morning tenants told me the house was cold. Heat was on during the night but at some point stopped working. Called the same guy at vigilante to come back that night as heat was not consistent throughout the day. Sometimes was working then would simply shut off for no reason. They came out that night AND the next NIGHT until the tech finally acknowledged he never attached a ground wire to the new spark box he installed and that might be the problem. Bottom line: We spent a lot of money and more valuable than that our TIME for an extra two nights to have missed this little issue. After he attached the ground the furnace has worked since then. I've since found other local plumbers who couldn't believe the amount we paid for this job and will my new go to guys vs Vigilante from now on. Very disappointed for the money we paid and then the extra trips to correct their error.
Curtis arrived Covid safe and was able to figure out a way to tackle the problem. He presented all the options and was professional and friendly. I am confident in his expertise and work. I am sure he will be able to fix the leak.Follow up:Curtis found some old pipes under the sink and was able to fix it quickly and even cleaned up afterwards. I will always use Vigilante should I need them in the future. It is good to find a business you can trust.

I had an excellent experience with Vigilante. I called to make an appointment the morning my central A/C was no longer cooling my home. Vigilante was able to send someone over within an hour of my call. Their technician, Robert, was wonderful. He exuded competence, reliability, and trustworthiness. After checking out the A/C unit on our rooftop, he very quickly assessed that we needed a new capacitor. He checked to see if he had the part in his van, found one, brought it up, replaced ours, and got the A/C running again. I could not recommend Vigilante more highly.

I had a leak in my basement from a drain pipe section that went into the main waste pipe under the basement floor. I called Vigilante, whom I have used before, and scheduled an appointment. Michele Papa was the lead who arrived with his co-worker exactly as scheduled (and it was great that Vigilante called me that morning to inform me the men where on their way). Because the pipe into the floor was broken from the years of use, Michele immediately recognized that this job might be larger than originally planned. He took photos to provide the home office and also arranged for his supervisor to stop by before work began to confirm his findings. Michele provided me an appropriate estimate range with the caveat that it would be refined once he opened the floor to assess the situation with the main waste pipe. Michele and his co-worker were extremely thorough and provided me specific options to allow me to choose the work to be done. They finished the initial install of the new pipe and did a great job cementing the basement floor. At each step of the procedure they had me check the work. Given the cement needs 48 hours to completely dry they are scheduled to return the end of the week to complete the job. They made sure to clean up any debris from the job and take it with them. Evidence of my satisfaction is that I will have them, when they return later this week, install an exhaust outside for the dryer in the basement. I recommend Vigilante and Michele in particular without hesitation.

I had used your service in the past and was satisfied with the work and price. My plumber moved and you were recommended.From those results I felt confident calling again. However I was SHOCKED. The gentlemen were courteous and efficient and unclogged my kitchen sink through the trap with the auger. A short visit.My SHOCK was with the PRICE $353.17. As a senior citizen it is a hard hit for a sink.I checked with many other professional sources after the work was done and all agreed it was very High Priced. I don’t usually write reviews online but I feel compelled to write one about my recent experience with Vigilante Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning. I have owned a house in Park Slope for thirty years and during that time I have hired carpenters, roofers, plumbers, and other craftspeople to do work on my house, but I have never had an experience like the one I had recently with Vigilante.I needed to replace my thirty-year-old furnace, and I thought about replacing it with two furnaces since I have a two-family house. Will Vassallo, the service manager, came out to do an estimate. Two other companies from which I got estimates stopped by, took a few measurements, and emailed me an estimate. Will spent about 45 minutes at my house, carefully evaluating and explaining the various options, and because installing a dual-zone heating system in a 130-year-old brownstone is complicated, he came back a second time with Sal Vigilante - the owner of the business! - just to make sure that everything was right.In the end, I decided just to replace the single furnace. Since it was March and still cold, I was concerned about getting the job done in a single day, but Will guaranteed that they would do just that - and they did: the crew arrived on time, and got the job done by 5 PM! The two men were friendly, answered all of my questions, were respectful of my house (they wear booties over their shoes so they don’t soil floors), and when the job was done, they carefully explained the new wireless thermostat, double-checked the electrical wiring, cleaned the site thoroughly, and made certain that everything worked perfectly before they left.As I said, of the many craftspeople I have hired over the past thirty years to do work in my house, Vigilante Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning was by far the most professional. I recommend them highly!

I thought I knew who the best plumbers in Brooklyn were until I met Vigilante plumbing. After multiple frustrating attempts to get an appointment with another company and finally agreeing to a $240 fee to show up on a Saturday (even if no work was completed) I decided early on a Friday morning to give Vigilante a call, to see if what they say about 24x7 service is really true. They are not lying. I first called at 7:00am and got a message saying their office was closed but I could get a live representative if I wanted to for emergencies. I hung up figuring this problem really wasn't that serious and didn't require that level of service. I called back at 7:30 to a get an immediate answer from a representative who asked me How can I make you smile today? From then on I knew this experience was going to be good. The representative got an understanding of the work I wanted to get done and said she would be able to have someone stop by within one hour. I was in shock. To make the situation even better, the representative showed up early, by 8:03am. His name was Mark, excellent technician with 28 years of experience. I explained to him the work that I needed and he provided me with different options as to how I could be approached and gave me upfront pricing on each of the options. His work was fast an efficient and I was amazed to see the excellent technique he used to perform a task that I struggled with trying to perform myself. The cost was very reasonable and considering the speed of the service it was pennies compared to what I'm sure I would have had to pay elsewhere for that level of professional work.I will be coming back to Vigilante for all my future plumbing needs. Needless to say I promptly canceled my appointment with the other plumber on Saturday. They didn't even care to ask why I was canceling. Vigilante made my day, if you choose to use them I'm sure they will make yours.
Denton was thorough and patient. Set up a follow up as needed. He was also brave around my loud dog barking all over the place.

Mr. Benjamin and his colleague did an EXCELLENT job of installing a new toilet. The connection was done beautifully, and they spent extra time cleaning up. They were early and very meticulous and respectful in their work.
This is a professional, reliable, reasonably priced shop. I got my water heater problem resolved in one day. The person who answered my morning call triaged my problem, explained pricing, and scheduled plumbers to visit later in the day. I got a call before the plumbers arrived. Danny and Jonathan, the two plumbers, were complete professionals. They had all the necessary parts, explained the problem and the price to me, and then quickly went to work. They worked hard to resolve the issue and to keep me informed at every step. Much appreciated.

We called Vigilante to diagnose and fix a leaking radiator. The service team arrived within the allotted time window, was extremely thorough and did a very good job explaining the problem before I agreed to have him do the repairs. I would not hesitate to call Vigilante again in the future.

Denton Diaz of Vigilante Plumbing came by to do a preseason check on my boiler. He found that the boiler was not getting power because the fuse and 24 volt transformer were blown. I replaced the fuse and transformer, and Vigilante returned to complete the check. I now can go into the chilly season knowing that my boiler is working great. Thanks, Vigilante!

This is our second year to use their service. They are on time, knowledgeable, can recommend the best possible option under our budget, honest with their pricing from the beginning, etc, etc. They are definitely not the cheapest option out there, but we love their service and professionalism. Only issue, which we had, is that when they find unexpected issue and have to come back, they don't send the same technician, and the second technician often doesn't know all the work that we discussed with the first one. To solve the problem, we highly recommend anyone in the same situation to call the company to confirm the details of your second appointment. The lady, who answers the phone, is very good at managing the details and is super helpful to meet your requests.
These guys are amazing! Fair prices, and everyone was super friendly and professional (and didn't turn their noses up at me because I know nothing about plumbing.) One thing that is worth mentioning is that even after Mike came and fixed my sink (on time and all) - he came back to my building when I called again: the blockage in my pipes went down to the neighbor's unit. He came back and proactively checked with every neighbor in the building to make sure that the problem in my apartment didn't go on to effect anyone else. Respect!

Vigilante came on 10/20/2020 to do maintenance check-up on our boiler and assist with winter shut down of our split unit AC system. Safraz Khan was friendly, thorough and highly professional. We know Safraz from when he had helped us with a waste pipe repair problem. Our experience with Vigilante staff has always been very good. AS an aside we just finished our 2cd summer with teh split unit AC and we are very satisfied with its performance.This is my second review of Vigilante so it is an updated review:6/9/2019We have used Vigilante for many of our plumbing and heating needs over the past 10 years. We recently installed a rather complicated split unit air-conditioning system on 3 floors of our house. We can sum up their service in 2 sentences:1. They are very professional and do a good job.2.They are not cheap. But when is getting anything done in New York City cheap unless you are very handy yourself or have a plumber friend who will do you a favor?I think Vigilante is especially good when you have a complicated job (like installing a multi-floor split unit AC in a 120 year old house) , and you need to get it done right the first time. (Don't even think about doing a job like this with someone who is inexperienced - way too complicated).Mike, the estimator from Vigilante, was the only HVAC professional we spoke to who suggested a creative way to run the AC lines through the cellar and up through the middle of the house so that we could (1) hide the AC lines to the extent possible and (2) hide the 4 mounted AC wall units. We live in a 120 year old, very traditional style house and we wanted to hide the AC lines and the mounted wall units to the extent possible. Mike's suggestion worked very well and we are happy with the outcome. We can now cool all floors of our house and the AC is whisper quiet.The installation, which took 4 days, was handled very professionally by Robert and an alternating crew of 2 - 4 people. Robert was the key person during the installation and we have a lot of respect for his knowledge, expertise, and professionalism. Following Mike's proposed plan, the installation team had to run a lot of AC lines through our house. They had to make a number of holes to bring the lines all the way from the cellar up through three floors of the house, but they minimized the damage and we were very satisfied with the result. The AC lines and the wall units are mostly hidden and the AC system seems to be working well.Of course all this good work comes at a price. As I mentioned before, Vigilante is not cheap. But retrofitting a 4 head split-unit AC into a 120 year old house is a complicated, once in a lifetime job. Once it's done , you never have to do it again. So for us, the price was worth it. There was one add-on cost which left a slightly sour taste. Vigilante does not provide the separate 220 volt electrical line running from the fuse box to the outdoor condenser. They recommended an electrician to do the work and we did not look for an alternative because we were out of town, and we wanted to make sure the electrical work was coordinated with the Vigilante crew. Anyway, this electrician and his 2 crew persons not only arrived late, but they charged us $2900 for less than 1 hour of work to string the 220 volt line. (And the 2 crew persons did all the work) . Even for NYC, this seemed like an outrageous price. But aside from this one hiccup, our overall feeling was expensive but worth it and we are happy with our system.____________________________________________________________________Prior ReviewWe have been dealing with Vigilante for over 10 years. As usual, the employees were super professional and efficient. They showed up on time, got the work done quickly and were extremely courteous and pleasant to deal with. They cost more than a handyman, but when you need a job done quickly (we had guests) and done right -- call Vigilante.

had a very good experience with mike s. and his apprentice in replacing my gas hot water heater. they came promptly, within 3 hours of my initial call to home depot. they protected our carpeting with butcher? paper. they were both professional, helpful and did a good job. also the cleanup was great. all, and i mean all, paper, boxes, pipes, etc. were removed, stuffed into their truck, and taken away. most importantly, we now have hot water!

There's just one bathroom in my apartment, so emergency toilet bowl repairs can be not only worrisome but physically urgent. The nice guy from Vigilante showed up in under an hour, talked me through the diagnosis and costs, completed the repair quickly, and then explained the long-term options for keeping this essential porcelain appliance in good working order. Vigilante actually made me feel better about my place.

Vigilante reacted immediately and made a plumber available with my first call. Michele came and advised me of my options with regard to fixing the old or investing rather in a new toilet. We went thru the different options together. Then we arranged for a return appointment to install the new toilet. The workers were professional and courteous. They installed the toilet quickly and professionally. The only thing is that they didn't clean up after themselves that great and I had to spend some time cleaning, but it is hard to get every bit of plaster and markings and such made around the work area! The toilet is wonderful, but it has a low flush pressure which we think may be due to a more ecological style (less water waste). I would definitely call Vigilante again!

We normally love Vigilante. They've saved us more than once in the winter, but this last visit left something to be desired. They replaced some parts, but they didn't fix the heat, forcing us to bring someone else in to finish the job.
Vigilante is a employer I discuss with all my circle of relatives and buddies to apply. They deliver extraordinary service and do a very good job. Everybody who I recognise that uses them are very happy with there service and will keep to apply them for all there plumbing wishes.

I just watched this company on the News, this technician was called to the residence by neighbors to check the elderly man heating system. When the technician Vincent Rizzo checked the boiler was over 40 years old. And he knew this elderly gentleman could not afford the replacement, and he was in the freezing cold. This technician Vincent Rizzo didn't just up and leave, he called his boss, who could have said get out of there. NO! the bosses got together and decided to help another human being out. They gave him a new furnace, and water heater FOR FREE! Over $12,000. This is what you call Great People, Great Company, and Great Americans. Thank you! Your number is saved in my phone from this day on.

As a result of the COVID-19 and CDC guidance to maintain a healthy workspace they are installing top of the line MERV-13 Filters and a UV LIGHT that will kill bacteria!!! Incredibly courteous and professional. I assumed replacing a water heater on a Saturday morning would be a nightmare but Vigilante took care of everything in half the time I expected. Frank and Mike were great to deal with. Highly recommend them.
Vigilante replaced my hvac unit earlier this summer and it has broken down twice subsequently. Each time that I have called to have someone come to repair their work I am told that I will need to wait several days before I can schedule an appointment. Using vigilante could potentially be compared to making a wish and hoping for the best.
We have employed Vigilante on and off over a period of decades. Four out of five times the service is A+. The other times B+. On time, polite, thoughtful, efficient, etc. They seem expensive (hence four not five stars), though that comes with the trade-off that their large staff means that they can respond fast when needed. Generally, two of them come: a more senior and more junior plumber. Like training hospitals--I think this leads to better service because the more senior person is taking her/his time so as to also use each visit for training: So often plumbing involves detective work.
If you’re in a tough spot they WILL overcharge you. 15 minutes of work will be $900. This is not the cost of doing business the aquastat retails for $120. Kindly ask the tech to leave and DO NOT pay them if the price is too high make them take you to small claims court.

Avoid at all costs . Awful experience . They are your typical corporate America Donald Trump loving company that all they care about is in and out jobs to maximize profits . My landlord/aunt hired them to fix a gas leak and do some minor corrections to the boiler . We haven’t had gas for a month and half. They said they where keeping us safe .(bunch of bs) Eventually we got our gas back . But it was such a long process. They also tried to do shortcuts and not file our job luckily my cousin is an engineer and told me they need to file this job . Imagine if I wasn’t on top of them for this. We would have payed for a job that is not filed . Good Luck trying to reach the owner . The office / managers guard him like he’s the president. It’s a shame for a company that’s been around this long To go down this route of trying to cheat people out of there money.
Under the stress of several hot days, new ordered parts that did not work correctly, short time frame -- Denton Diaz of Vigilante did an outstanding job!
On the date of scheduled service - hot water heater replacement - I received a call from the office to let me know the technician was on the way. The technicians arrived shortly after, and introduced themselves before getting right to work. Sean L. took some measurements, and let me know that the existing water heater was shorter than the replacement they brought. He took the time to explain how that would alter the installation, and to call the supplier to see if they had a shorter tank in stock. He found that they did have a model that was the same height as our current heater, and let me know the differences between the two models before going to pick up the other heater, which he quickly installed at the price quoted for the other model. Fast, efficient, and happy to answer all my questions.

Manny Johnson was prompt, diligent, knew just how to inspect and service and test our heating systems in two houses. He took extra care and was quite fastidious about this work. Not only deserves praise but a raise!!!
I have a contract with Vigilante to service my Heating and Air Conditioning seasonally. During their last visit I also needed a faucet tightened, which is in a hard to reach area and was tricky to get to. I was ready to just live with the loose faucet as it was, but the technicians were determined to figure it out and fix it before they left. The two technicians that were sent were professional, pleasant and friendly.I highly recommend Vigilante Plumbing.

Pros: They sent a technician out within a few hours, and only charged $125 for the diagnostic visit.Cons: Pricing is fixed and non-transparent. The Company quoted me almost $800 for a $50 part and 2 hours of labor. When I asked them to break down the pricing for me, they said it was the cost of doing business and non-negotiable.Bottom-line: If you need a repair done quickly, they can probably handle it, but you will pay much more than is reasonable.
Fixed leak under kitchen sink. Good job. Good price.

Big fan of Vigilante Plumbing. They have replaced a boiler and a hot water heater for us, and service our boiler annually. The BEST thing is that their repair techs wear these red booties over their shoes and keep the house spotless coming in and out. Repair personnel are professional and punctual. There's always a call when they are on the way. And never a mess when they are finished.

Vigilante scheduled my appointment between 8 AM to 12 PM and showed up after 2 PM.They sent a mechanic out the following day to make repairs to ventilation system and boiler.The mechanic does not finish the repairs but wants full payment for an incomplete job.Keep looking for better customer service representatives and mechanics.
very experienced crew arrived at my home, polite, clean and capable. Replaced entire drainage under kitchen sink, trap , bends, fittings, and it came out better than what it ever was. JOHN THE PLUMBER WAS FANTASTIC

Excellent service I tell you! I received a notice for my building from DEP saying I needed a back flow cross connection device installed. Not knowing what this was or what it does, I was referred to Vigilante Plumbing, so I called and spoke with Rich Rivera.What a huge help he was. He not only took control but he explained as to why I needed the device. It was an eye opener.Needless to say living in Florida and maintaining a building in New York is not the easiest. He was able to send all documents electronically. They offered finance at 0% hello??? Interest free loan why not and completed the installation without any disruption to the restaurant or tenants.He also looked at my heating boiler and gave me some tips for better efficiency options. I will definitely keep their number on my fridge as I will be using them from now on.Throughout it all I can not express my gratitude to Rich, Dwaine, Lloyd and the rest of the Vigilante team.

They were on time that is about the only positive thing that I can say about them. They are expensive. They provided the most expensive solution and I felt taken advantage of. DO NOT USE VIGILANTE. THEY RIP YOU OFF. I had a leaky kitchen sink that needed a gasket. The plumber, Dmitriy, was condescending and never responded to any of my questions. He could not just repair the gasket, he had to replace the whole strainer supposedly. Then it expanded to two tubular elbow pipes, all coming to over $600 dollars. He was here 30 minutes and barely broke a sweat. Do not use them.

I have been with Vigilante for more than 20 years. They have the records on all my plumbing and heating.. so I feel completely safe with Vigilante.
I worked with Michele at Vigilante and he was great. Michele was originally called in to fix a corroded pipe above the boiler. On the first visit, he looked at all the pipes and found other bad pipes-the guy is thorough. On the day of the repair, he arrived at 8:01am for an 8am appointment and worked through the day replacing corroded pipes attached to the boiler. In the process, he found an additional dangerously corroded pipe and fixed that one too. He executed perfectly and left the place spotless. I highly recommend Michele and Vigilante Plumbing. Our building has used them for boiler emergencies and they are responsive, efficient and professional.
It was quick and easy to schedule the service. The plumber came on time, did the work quickly and cleanly and also answered my questions regarding a few issues. Prices seem to be fair compared to what I've heard about similar service. I highly recommend this company.

Concerned that a knocking noise from one of our sinks, we had Vigilante come out to look at it. Mike S listened to my explanation, and my worries that it was a complicated water hammer issue. He looked at the sink, and fixed the problem with a simple valve adjustment. With the other work happening, he didn't even charge for the simple fix. Quick, knowledgeable, and I never felt like he was looking for the most expensive fix. Definitely will use Vigilante again.
Dale B. from Vigilante was superlative. We had a tricky boiler problem in our brownstone coop in Park Slope. We have a rolodex of excellent tradesmen with deep knowledge, generations of experience. But it is not always possible to schedule these guys on the fly. What is truly great about Vigilante is that they offer a combination of emergency response and real nitty-gritty expertise. It's like having a neurosurgeon show up in an ambulance! Dale not only replaced a fuse, re-adjusted the thermostat, and got the boiler up and running, but he ran a thorough test of the system. And then he analyzed the source of the problem and gave me written instructions for other fixes to the chimney and ventilation in the basement that would prevent the boiler from conking out in the future. Really a great experience with a first rate service provider.

Rip off and scam. This company is the worst. I should have looked at the reviews before using them. They opened a line in my basement and didn't close it and turned the water on then they left. After they left I came downstairs to my basement flooding with water. I had to call an emergency plumber to fix what they left. I called them for a refund and they said the flooding pipes in my basement was my fault and the manager said he trusted that his employees wouldn't do that. They Charged me 400$ to snake a drain which is so crazy expensive then said the problem wasn't that and that I needed a cleanout which would cost 2,000$. So basically I gave them 400$ for nothing. They also made a mess in my house and didn't clean. I found a different plumber snake the drain, fix the problems they left and fix my plumbing problems for 200$. A clean was never needed and they wanted to charge me 2000$. They are scammers!

Vigilante did three heating related jobs for me in the last five months: pre-season boiler check, chemical cleaning of heating system, and a repair of a pressure valve in my gas boiler. Service was prompt. All my questions were answered. Documentation of estimates and receipts was easy. I was not made to feel foolish for asking questions. Waiting time for a neccesary part was only a few minutes. I plan to continue with them for maintenance. This company engenders trust.
On the coldest night of the year (for really the last several years), I called my plumber to fix my boiler on an emergency basis. I have been his customer for over 10 years. He told me he would call me back in about 30 minutes. He did not. He did not respond to any further calls I made to him. Then, I called Vigilante Plumbing at about 10:45 PM. A plumber was at my house well within an hour and fixed my boiler. The plumber, Mohammed was extremely professional and courteous. Someone came the next day to inspect it further and had recommendations to maintain the boiler in the future. It was not cheap, but I felt good about the money I spent and that my family and my tenants would not spend the night in sub zero conditions.
Vigilante came to repair a couple of leaky radiators and check the others. Michele Papa was the technician. Michele was friendly, courteous and knowledgable about the heating system in my brownstone. He made the repairs promptly and expertly, and—an added benefit—he thoroughly entertained my dog.

I had a badly clogged drain in my kitchen sink caused by incorrectly installed plumbing by the contractor who renovated the building decades ago. Vigilante Plumbing responded promptly to my request for service call and diagnosed the root cause of the problem. It meant opening up a wall to gain access to the drain pipe, replace it at the correct pitch, clean the remainder of the drain line and thoroughly tested the results. A complicated job done very well with courtesy and professionalism. The technician on the call was efficient and clearly explained the options, consequences and costs during the job.
Beware of those guys that refuse to provide a reasonable ballpark estimate but charge a fee to come out and inspect a job. And if at all possible... if you are not a DIY person, arrange with a reputable big box store to have simple work done. They are more likely to charge appropriately to maintain their reputation.I needed a newly purchased residential stove (~$600) installed - a simple enough job which involves connecting and sealing flex hose kit and testing for gas leak.I called to request a ballpark cost and to have this service performed with the following result. After some cajoling, I was told that it shall costbetween $400 - $600 to connect a stove to a gas line - even no new gas line or plumbing required and that a call out fee would be charged if no work is performed. Home Depot charges $150 (current as of 2/1/2019).Two issues: if this is their normal price then it is excessive; or if the price depends on my location it is predatory.New stove ~$600 / installation ~$500.On a side note, these services, like Angie's List and those listed on them, are creating a bifurcated marketplace which is going to make it very expensive for simple things to get done. These companies are inflating their prices even when they are not sharing their fees with a facilitator (like HomeAdvisors). Buyer beware!!!

I have to share. Vigalante Plumbing provides any type of plumbing service/ work you need. We had our hot water heater (boiler) replaces with a new one which was delivered here and installed by the professionals working at Vigalante; a warranty was provided by the company that built the boiler (ten year) as well as a service warranty by the service. The kitchen sink was a disaster, being a relic of the times and it was just due to be replaced and the plumbing (excess) was resolved with a new sink that was installed by Vigalante. I have been happy with the service of this company moreover their selection of capital goods is made at the local Home Depot and Lowe’s as well as the local plumbing and hardware stores which is always nice when a company utilized its abilities in working with the local business especially when there are extraordinary projects or products that need to be addressed. As aforementioned this is a good company and I would highly recommend them.

We've had Vigilante fix various plumbing issues in our building on several occasions, and they've always been great. I'd definitely recommend them.
I had a run-of-the-mill clogged kitchen sink and so I set up a same-day appointment. The gentlemen who came were very nice and professional. I would have liked for them to do the job but they quoted me $480 to unclog the kitchen sink! I've had this done many times before and it always costs somewhere from around $65-$160. The quote was far too high to have them do the work and I had to pay the $82 fee for them to show up. My suggestion would be for the nice woman who does the booking to have access to the fee chart that the servicemen use so she could advise as to their regular pricing for run-of-the-mill jobs. Of course, they would be estimates but this would put their customer on notice that they tend to charge really high prices for their services.
they are not bad - but they definitely don't coordinate with customers' time, it's very inconvenient for me to stay home whole day just to wait for the technician to come. They may give you their words that they would come after 6pm but they seldom keep their words. I usually need to take a day off from job to wait for them. This happened a few times in the past year or so

I have used Vigilante for gas inspection and also for plumbing. While they are not the least expensive option, they are very professional and good at what they do. It is service you can rely on and they are very responsive.
We talked to a dozen AC companies about installing mini splits over the years. Mike from Vigilante was the first to sketch out an installation plan that would have minimal impact on our old Park Slope townhouse. Then the chief installer Peter and assistant Drew did a terrific job of concealing the tubing and wires through our basement and closets. They had regular oversight from an old pro on staff, and they called in backup for conventional plumbing work.Peter and Drew always told us what they were doing. They were very careful about drilling holes and mounting pipes, and they brought the job in on time with no big surprises. You wouldn't normally think it about HVAC installers, but the Vigilante crew are real craftsmen of this particular discipline. Thank you Peter and Drew.

Faizon was on time and super efficient in looking at a drain that led to flooding in our basement during Ida. He quickly diagnosed the problem, explained it, and ordered what is needed to fix it without doing any unnecessary work.
you decide. 4 ton compressor is not cooling properly. Vigilante -tech Robert diagnoses the unit needs to be cleaned, filter, coils and then the filter drier replaced- Total $ 1953.22 after he tell me he does the work, I pay him he tells me oh there is another problem the piston is to big so the unit will not work until you fix this for $ 1998.00. I feel so victimized - the same as if they held a gun to steal from you. When I spoke with the officethey think this is ok.The coils were not cleaned I had to have another company clean them.this is not over yet, but you should look somewhere else for a company with integrity - there is non here.

Feels like we being taken for expensive ride. Had a new boiler and hot water heater installed by them just over a year ago (not cheapest option, cost $14K but they recommended and installed). Since then, system has been off 3 times (no heat as I write this). They keep coming back to say it was a control panel (they dont cover $900), then blown fuse, they replaced fuse but that then friend thereplaced control panel (so now $1600K for another new panel and wiring fix)...and they still not sure it will work. They should stand behind their work, especially installing new stuff that is expensive. Making me choose between freezing with family during winter or keep paying you to service a new system you installed feels like a trapped unfair situation.

Robert is skilled @ his job & his dedication was evident in his tireless work to complete the job on schedule. This was for my mother, a super senior. Vigilante came on time & was spotless after the completion. The work (furnace) is functioning excellently.The heat is working just fine. I always have a good experience with the staff.
Have used this company twice, both emergency issues with our heating. They provided a reasonable time window, which they followed through on. Kept me informed of options, explained it all to me. Will use again & recommend to others.

I would give this place 0 stars if I could!! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE A BUNCH OF CROOKS!! They ripped my mother in law off so bad!! It's so terrible what they did to a senior citizen! Awful!! They run their business on defrauding people who don't know any better ... it started with a leak in my mother in laws pipe so she previously used vigilante to install a new hot water heater for her so she called them again they sent someone out to diagnose the problem he said the hot water needed to be moved and it's an 8hr job so they had to send another team out early in the morning to complete the job. She agreed to the price of $900 and made an appointment with the office for a new team to come out early the next morning. My mother in law gets paid by the hour and is not paid when she takes time off and is living on a tight budget. She took the whole day off of work and waited and waited and waited. Finally at 11:00 she called and the girl in the office said oh the guy is getting your new pipes now and will be on the way. So my mother in law waited some more and the men still weren't there at 12:50! So she called the office again and the girl said oh they will be there soon. They arrived at 1:30 made my mother in law agree to another $950 and she didn't realize they would be doing so little work she thought it was a huge job being that the man who previously came out made it seem that way. The men spent more time outside on the phone than working in the home they did about 20 minutes worth of work and changed 2 small pipes and charged her $1850!! That is unbelievable!! When my husband found out what went on he knew she was defrauded and taken advantage of he contacted other plumbers and they said it should not have been more than a $500 job and that was on the high end. So my mother in law calls the company and speaks to the sales manager and tells him the situation he gets back to her and tells her he will change the price to $1150 this is still unacceptable! He then tells her we have to pay for travel time and truck maintenance and this and that which has nothing to do with my mother in law ... she should have only been charged for the 20 minutes of work and the 2 small pipes that were fixed. This company is disgusting and it's so sad that they do this to vulnerable people that don't know any better. Do not give these people any business they don't deserve it for the way they treated my mother in law!!! It doesn’t make sense that they told her it was an all day job that had to be started early in the morning but the day the men were supposed to come they didn’t get there until 1:30 so they already knew it was an easy job that wouldn’t take long! How disgusting!!

Relocate the existing washer, dryer, and wash tub to the opposite wall. Terminate the gas piping not in use3. Properly seal the existing sewer trap at the front of the home.I have notified Mr. Mike Rutigliano that because of pending house expenses (i.e., new roof, pool work, and exterior porch and paver work) that I could not do HVAC system at that price. I have called him several times requesting a new proposal for the above item 2 (Laundry Room) be submitted.I requested that item 3 (main sewer trap) be done as soon as possible because of the horrific order emanating from the sewer to the house.To date, I have not had a reply from Mr. Rutigliano or anyone regarding this matter. I have renewed my service agreement, but I have no service regarding the above.P. S. On Monday, 3-4-19, I requested service for a leaking garbage disposal and resetting of loose toilet bowl. Fortunately, this work was done the same day by technician, Safraz K. He was extremely professional, and affable performing the work. Under NO circumstances use this company!!! They are fraudulent. They charged for a part they never installed into an air conditioner and fraudulently signed the credit card receipt for work they did not do. BEWARE. George came on time and he and Steve worked hard all day to complete the work early. He inspected my system(s) and made recommendations for improvements. He went beyond the proposal and added baskets to some sprinklers and changed a radiator valve.You can't go wrong with Vigilante service even though they are expensive.
The two men from Viglante Plumbing came exactly on time and fixed a pipe and valve quickly and efficiently. I would recommend them for any work dealing with broken pipes, heating, etc. They know their business!

Vigilante just tried to charge me $1000 for installing a stackable washing machine and dryer in my apartment. No running of new lines or drains, this was simply to remove the old machines, and hook-up the new machines. Probably two hours work, and their estimate didn't even include hauling away the old appliances.
The team was nice, prompt, and responsive. They fixed everything quickly at a reasonable price!
We have been customers for 50 years. VPHA has been getting better each year, particularly in its marketing and administrative management. Its technicians have expanded their knowledge of more equipment. I wish I could use them for 50 more years.
Matthew was knowledgeable and professional, he owned my issue from start to finish.
Outstanding tech, detailed oriented, very competent, & explained what he was doing so a physician not versed in boiler-stream heating understood.

Relit Pilot for water heater and check for problems gave information about the cost and replacing the water tank if needed
First time I hired him to uncloge the drain.He did good work. But after six months later I hired him again to uncloge the the same drain. He has not done the satisfactory job. Each time he charged me $255 dollars just for snaking the drain and he did not gurantee of his work. I will not hire him again.

They installed my boiler a little over a year ago, the pump went and they said it wasn't covered by warranty because its not part of the boiler, (did I mention that I had called them five times), then they quote me number that is twice the price than everyone else to replace their faulty pump. That is as bad as a company could get

Robert Smith showed up exactly on time and fixed two problems within an hour. One problem had to do with a 25 year old furnace that kept shutting down. He replaced the necessary parts. The other problem was with a water heater that had clogged pipes.
I would give no stars if I can your not allowed to talk to the plumbers just a stressed out customer service girl. The plumbers do not come out to sites to evaluate before delivery of water heaters. Very unprofessional will never use them. I rather pay more for people with great customer service.

I have a service contract. I called early Saturday evening that I have no heat, its 19 degrees, and was told they dont work on the weekend!!! They said they can set something up for Monday. Unacceptable!!! No I have to pay Homeserve and get a service contract with them.

Mike F came to check a small water leak in the pan beneath our washing machine. He did a very thorough and careful job, and was able to clearly explain & answer the questions involved. He was a pleasure to work with.
Fabio and Dominic arrived very quickly after I called in for emergency service to find the source and stop water leaking into our basement, that had pooled to an inch of water in just 90 minutes. Fabio very clearly explained what he would do and how much every step of the process would cost. Fabio and Dominic were careful to wear booties on their shoes to keep water and dirt off our carpets and floors. He was thorough in his investigation and efficient in coming up with a solution. To our surprise he found the source of the leak - pipe crack in the wall - replaced it, replaced an outdoor spigot; and to our delight, swept up the floor cleaning all the mess from making holes in the wall to find the cracked pipe - all this in 3 hours! Fabio has a very friendly demeanor and made what started as an unpleasant event into a satisfying one. We could not be more pleased with his work.
My drain was clogged. The plumbers were timely, professional, friendly and fixed the problem.
