My plumber was very professional and efficient. He was also an extremely nice guy who did his job quickly and well. The problem was with Roto-Rooter's pricing. They charge by the job, not the hour. I was very clear with them that all I needed was a new washer on an old faucet unit that would be replaced during a remodel this fall. Despite receiving three preliminary calls and a visit to my house by a Roto-Rooter representative—still not sure what that was about—I got no pricing information beyond the $79 arrival fee. When the plumber arrived I was told that the job would cost $419! To be clear, that's $419 for a half-hour of labor, plus a 99 cent washer! And this is during regular weekday business hours! I told the plumber that his estimate was more than double what I'd ever paid for a similar job in the past. He pointed me to a discount coupon worth $100 and I had him do the job rather than pay the arrival fee and still have a leaky faucet. So, that's 5 big stars for my plumber, and an emphatic ZERO STARS for ROTO-ROOTER!!!

I had a great experience with roto-rooter.On 5/16/17 we had a drain clog fixed by Kevin,I've had his services 2 other times before. Great guy, nice personality and very professional.He finished the the job in less than 30min.I really appreciate the service provided from rotor-rooter, highly recommended ! 😄

Christmas Day our kitchen sink clogged after dinner. All the dishes were piled up on the kitchen so I went online to see if I could get an appt. I was hopeful we would get someone to come the next day. I received an email from Roto-Rooter that my time slot was 9:00 - 11:00 am the next day. I was happy I was in the queue. The next day arrived and I received multiple courtesy calls letting me know that things were very busy and that they will call to update us on the technician probably after lunch. I was now worried that we were not going to have a technician come out that day. Roto-Rooter continued to update us. About 3:00 pm a technician came and quickly set up his machine. He carefully fed the lead into the pipe and about 15 ft in the machine hit the clog and continued to grind away for he said about 10 inches. We went downstairs to feel where the lead was and it was already down to the main discharge pipe about 25 feet from the kitchen. He cleaned and described the pricing policy in more detail and the guarantee. I thought the service was exceptional!!!

Jeff found we were still having a problem after he rooted our sewer line, and called in a camera. He and cameraman were very polite, fun to talk with while they worked, very professional, and answered all our questions. My dogs even liked them. They did a great job for us. Will definitely call them again.
