$750 for an hour's worth of work and $20 of parts. Let me preface this by saying the actual plumber was very knowledgeable and an awesome guy. But the company delegated pricing was just ludicrous, and pretty dishonest in my opinion. I just needed a leaky pipe cut out and replaced, hour max of work for someone who knows what they're doing. Dispatch won't tell you an hourly rate or ANY sort of estimate of pricing, you have to wait until the guy comes out. At that point you're stuck paying the $100 inspection fee, or half your paycheck for even the easiest of fixes. Pick your poison.
Got the job done fast but charging $600 to just put the snake through the drain is not an honest business practice when people feel stuck.

Brian was the technician along with his trainee (Tyler). Both arrived right on time and provided excellent communication of their arrival. Pricing was given to me after diagnosis (no service fee if I decided no), and we agreed the pricing was fair for my need. They went right to work and got the job done with a 6-month guarantee! I highly recommend Roto-Rooter. I had a flooded basement due to a clog in the sewage drain. The technician, Josh, came out Saturday afternoon to fix the drain. He was friendly, worked hard, fixed the problem and helped me arrange the clean-up. Roto-Rooter then sent Nathan who did an excellent job guiding me through the insurance claim. The same day into evening Steve (Restoration) started the clean-up. He was friendly, sympathetic to my situation, and did great work. Reasonably priced, quality work, and helpful with all aspects of the issue
The technician, Juan, was very polite and professional. He convinced me to take a slightly more expensive route to solve a reoccurring issue with a slow draining pipe that leads to the main. Juan also took the time to replace a gasket on the toilet, and make modifications so it would flush better. Time will tell if the more expensive route will pay off, but Juan did a great job.
Andrew did an amazing job and was in and out 2 hours ahead of the actual scheduled time. He was thorough and explained everything in detail. I told Joe(#2475) that I would write a review. I called late in the afternoon and was told we would see Joe in 2 hours. We didn't even have to wait that long. He introduced himself and then proceeded to get right to work. It smelled awful downstairs. But he never complained. I would have been proud to have him as an employee. Before Joe left I told him that college kids won't ever make as much as he does. Sometimes Trade Schools are the best option!
Very impressed we could get true same day (same afternoon!) service on our basement drain. Michael was great at explaining what he’d need to do, honest about what he might confront in our very old drain, and personable and friendly with our 3 year old to boot! He did a great job and 4 hours after I decided to reach out to Roto-Rooter for the drain we had a functioning basement drain again!

I highly recommend Roto Rooter. The plumber who came out was really helpful, honest and great in explaining the problem we had.Even though this place can be expensive it really is well worth it because of how the plumbers treat you. After the plumber had cleaned out my drain, he got on the floor and cleaned it up even though it wasn't his job. Thank you Roto Rooter!!!

We had a great experience with Derek #4349. We had a massive house fire loss in July, 2017 and the house was completely reconstructed. Our wonderful toddler decided that it’d be a good idea to flush several toddler toothbrushes down our new toilet/plumbing and we were unable to get it unclogged. Called in to Roto Rooter and the lady was very pleasant and told us someone would be out within four hours. One hour later Derek showed up, assessed the situation and we were back in working order in less than an hour. Thank you Derek for you help!

Service was satisfactory but too expensive! $817 for 30 min work to replace a cracked valve. Outrageously exploitative.
After calling, Gerve showed up within 30 min and did an incredible job! I will definitely use him again. What an incredible guy as well.

They were quick to show up (well within their promised service time) and the work was done quickly. Had my kitchen sink snaked as far as they could reach (75ft). This solved the problem. The service tech, Brian, was professional and informative. He provided preventive measures that I could take to reduce potential problems. The price was expensive, $289, but that was consistent with other plumbers in town that would have been several days out from doing the work.

The serviceman was courteous and offered additional details about the circumstances of the poor drainage. The cost of the service was expensive - is it a case of not what I did but what I know how to do? The cost was $50 higher that the last time for the self same problem.

On Christmas day our floor drain in the basement backed up and flooded our laundry room. The Holidays are a stressful time anyways, but add a clogged drain and the extra unexpected expense and our house was frazzled. My husband and I talked and considered doing one of the on-line options of getting your drains unplugged for a lesser amount of money but an unknown person / company. This was a very short consideration, we have an older house and have had Roto Rooter out a few times over the past 20 years we've lived here, and we've always had great service and tremendous success. In the end, we quickly came to the conclusion of We are going to do this the right way!. We called Roto Rooter the next morning and Jeff was out within 2 hours. As always he got our drain cleared. Jeff was really nice. Not only did he clear our drain, but also gave us tips to keep this from happening in the future. Roto Rooter is always providing preventive tips which is very important to us. Chris and Jeffrey provided outstanding service during my recent experience with a clogged sewer line. I have a 100+ year old farmhouse, they investigated every possibility of pipes that went this way and that and were able to get it open. Not only was the actual service great, but I was amazed at the clean up that was done before they left.
Laundry room tub started backing up on a Friday night, was backing up with food on a Saturday. Brandon came out and explained what was going on, cleared the drain and told us how to prevent problems in the future. He was friendly, knowledgeable, didn't do any hard upsells, and told us how to prevent the issue from happening again. Highly recommend.

Allister is amazing and was able to correctly identify our problem and fix our basement floor drain that had tree root issues in less than 45 minutes. Very friendly, respectful, and willing to explain what was going on and how to prevent in the future. Will give some good scritches to any cat that approaches. He was there on the earlier end of the 4-hour window given by Roto-rooter (6pm-10pm for a 3:30pm call) and they would have had someone out even earlier but the first technician had van issues. Definitely recommend, especially if you get Allister.

Brian #936 was professional and went the extra mile. Brian had to disconnect and move the washer and dryer over 3 feet to get to the main drain opening. He also moved the appliances back and re-connected them for me. I could not have moved these appliances myself.

HALF the PRICE. 10X the value. We had an expert out originally who tried to fix our plugged kitchen sink pipes, but he could not. He said it would require something that was going to cost $$$$$. THEN WE CALLED ROTO-ROOTER. Problem solved, long term preventative maintenance plan in place and did it all for WAY LESS MONEY AND BEFORE the other expert could even come back. As a business owner with 20 years as President, I stand behind my statements 100%.

Unprofessional. The charges were out of line for a less than 45 minutes call, I was charged $788 and after charging me $788, and there is a problem, I am told that there is no warranty? So, after the tech left, the water is no longer flowing into the dishwasher and I am told I have to pay to have someone come out to look at this? No way.

The technician arrived within an hour of calling for an appointment due to water backing up a floor drain. Was very friendly and did a thorough analysis of the situation to make sure it was not our main pipe clogged. He cleaned our main drain and resolved the issue in under an hour. Steve was excellent! We had a drain that is connected to our water softener unit and each time it regenerated, the water was backing up. Had to turn the water off and luckily they arrived within an hour to clear it out. All back to normal.

Main drain was clogged. Called Roto Rooter and they had someone out in an hour on a Saturday and it was not an emergency call. Drain was unclogged and inspected in an hour or so and things are good. Thanks again Luke and Spencer.
Had a flooded basement due to some roots that were affecting the sewer line. They were able to get to my house fast and fix the problem with no hassle. Solid price as well. Fred was terrific and kept me in the loop throughout the process. Would definitely recommend.

Roto-Rooter was very helpful to me, more than 2 times within the same week in fact. Their employees are very friendly, and definitely knowledgeable. Steve and Gary worked with me on an issue where ground water was getting into my room and soaking the carpet. They were able to help me determine the cause at no cost to me. Then a few days later my basement drain clogs at 5am in the morning and who do I call? I call rotor-rooter again (thank goodness for 24/7 operating hours) and they had Jim come in the morning. I like how they give you a 30 min call ahead to let you know they're on their way. The window for arrival is like a 4 hour window, but they always arrive within the first hour. Jim was able to diagnose the clog and gave me the free estimate. I accepted and then he went straight to work. Within a few hours he unclogged the drain line and main sewer line. He even cleaned up nicely after himself. Definitely would recommend them. Thanks rotor-rooter team!
The guys doing the work were quick and efficient in pinpointing the issue of blockage. The guys were great. Communication from management could've been better. I'd likely still use them in the future.

We were thrilled to get such fast and professional service when we had a plumbing emergency on Mother's Day! Aleister, Tech #5504 was terrific!We had an additional issue and he was able to get another Tech with a camera over the same day to check the pipes going out to the street. Everything was resolved in a couple of hours and we now have peace of mind about the issues involved. AND we got to celebrate Mother's Day as planned with the family after all.

Our sump pump system was set up circa 1986. Our technician was great - assessing how it was failing and what could be done without having to start from scratch with the grandfathered system. He refitted the pipes, gave us options and was really friendly. It's working great! Couldn't be happier!

Our main drain backed up on a Sunday afternoon. After a short attempt to solve it myself I knew it was beyond my abilities. I knew it was going to be expensive and I understand why some people have sticker shock. However they had a technician out within 30 minutes of my call. The technician, Aleister was very friendly and professional. He had the problem diagnosed very quickly and had the clog cleared in about half an hour. Because we hadn't lived in the house for very long and being a DIYer, I had a lot of questions. Aleister was patient with me and very knowledgable and seemed happy to talk through the plumbing and give us tips for keeping things working. When you consider the prompt service and problem solved on a weekend along with Aliester's professional friendly attitude, I think price seems in line with the value.

Andrew (5 stars) was kind, professional and explained everything he was doing every step of the way. He gave recommendations on how to maintain the pipes in my home so I can avoid clogs & build up moving forward.Edited to 2 stars because of follow up a day later:I had Roto Rooter come back out because of a leak in the pipes they just worked on. Was told I need to replace sink basket strainer and given a $542 estimate per sink! This is an $15 part and the repair takes 20 minutes. Was also told it has nothing to do with the work they did 2 days ago on the same sink. Super dissatisfied. Feel taken advantage of- I overpaid ($400 + to snake a drain) for the initial service because I was desperate to get it fixed and avoid flooding in the basement- which I fully accept. But $542 for a sink basket strainer??? Not our fault??? Come on- you can do better Roto Rooter.
Experienced Roto-Rooter technician Michael took care of my problem and advised me how to prevent a reoccurrence. He communicated his process to me well and I understood it. He cleaned up the area nicely when he was done. He was also personable and a nice guy and I’ll ask for him again when I need service. I’m pleased with his work.
My drains were slow so I called Roto Rooter. They came out and checked every and recommended a preventive treatment. I was very happy with the honesty and service provided!
The issue was a very STINKY main toilet that was plugged for two days. The reason for my rating is I submitted a request through your website on 2/15/22 to have someone come out on 2/16/22 early in the morning because I had to leave for work at 7:45. I called the office and the customer service person said no one was available before 8:00, so I asked her to switch my appointment to the evening. I waited that entire evening and no one showed up. No one called until I called customer service. Then the dispatcher called and said they didn't have anyone available and said I could reschedule for 2/17/22. I did get service that day, but I had to leave a dentist appointment early to make sure I was home. I had two horrible extractions and lots of pain medicine, and it was not great to have to deal with this situation after the dentist. I think I was charged $690 to pull the toilet off (which is ridiculous) because they said they couldn't clear the problem. Needless to say I won't be using you service again anytime soon if ever.

Roto Rooter did a wonderful job on servicing our house the day after Christmas. They were here within a short time after we called and fixed everything. Brian was very skilled and pleasant to work with. I would recommend using Roto Rooter.
Rude customer service and horrible scheduling on their part. Never showed up after being 3 hours late to a 8am -12 window... Horrible.Heres the story:I scheduled for a technician to come out and get an estimate on a project at my house a week in advance. We were told to be there from 8-12 and someone would come by and take a look. My wife took off work to be at the house to help the Tech.At 10:30 I got a call saying the tech would be late, but they had no idea how long they would be, and they couldn't give me any timeline.I then missed a call at 12:50 ( already running late), so i called them back 5 MINUTES later and they said since I didnt call back soon enough the tech had moved on to the next job and he would swing by when he was done.at 2:20 I got a call that the tech was now 30 minutes away, Im upset at this point but I just want to get this person here to see if they can help.At 3:00 I get a call that this particular Tech can not do our job (of getting an estimate) and they would need a to send someone else. This first tech didnt call me or talk to my wife he just read the job description that he already had and bailed.At this point the customer service person was being rude and un cooperative so I had to cancel my appointment... Never going back to them again..If RotoRooter reads these you should really review her calls. She does not fit in a customer service job.
Rotorooter was at my house within 45 minutes of the call made. Wayne did a great job, was very thorough and explained the problem and how he fixed it.
Dave is a great representative of your company. He had a challenge installing a replacement dishwasher in my 20 year old kitchen. Copper piping buried in the floor and inaccessible from my finished basement ceiling. Dave placed new stainless flex water lines and waste water Lines inside existing cabinet boxes in such a way that they are hardly noticed.Very professional install. Second time calling them to fix the same issue. Service was good but over 4 hours late. Plus side is they did call during that time delay to inform us of when the new time would be and then 30 minutes prior to them arriving. Very professional and polite while working on the clogged pipes. Found a new issue that could of been identified the first time they were here.

The plumber came out for a burst / leaking pipe - turned out to be an open valve which did not require and parts to fix , he simply closed the valve with a wrench. He also insisted we must have bumped the valve open - it is located in our ceiling , after telling him we couldn’t have “bumped “ it he continued to tell my husband that is he only way it could’ve happened. He was at our home less than 45 minutes with most of that time spent in his truck writing up the report for which we were charged over 500 dollars.

I was pleased from start to finish my experience with Roto-Rooter. The receptionist took all the critical information and scheduled a visit by a plumber two hours after the initial call. I was called 30 minutes before arrival so I knew when he was coming. Austin did an excellent job! He asked questions, assessed the situation, and presented me with solutions. He clearly communicated with me at each step of the way and presented me with a bill that was clear with no surprises. Thank-you!
Andrew came out an hour after I called and he educated me on how to keep maintenance on the main drain cleaning. Within an hour he cleared out the blockage in the drains and alleviate the stress I had built up because I had guests coming over for dinner!! I definitely would recommend to everyone!!

Our plumber, Tony, from the New Brighton, MN, location, was able to correctly diagnose the problem and take care of it. He was very courteous and left no mess. He explained what our problem was (baby wipes down the toilet) and why it was a problem. Have used Roto-Rooter before and will continue to use them.

My Saturday morning started with a call to get help for a plugged drain, now 2 short hours later it's already fixed! Excellent service! Day before Thanksgiving, houseful of guests expected and not one, but 2 drains backed up. Roto-Rooter was able to send someone out that same morning to resolve the problem. 3 different teams came out, one to problem solve, another to clean the main drain and another to take photos to make sure there wasn't a larger issue. All 3 teams were friendly and took the time to explain the issue and resolution. Couldn't be happier with my experience...and Thanksgiving Day was saved!

Wow I was impressed! I called another plumber and he recommended Roto Rooter, in case unclogging the drain would require cutting roots, (because we live in a heavily wooded area). Fred came out within 30 minutes, with no extra charge, (he happened to be in our area). He was professional, kind and done in 30 minutes or less.I'm especially impressed that I was able to decide, once I heard the quote, without worrying about a travel charge, had it been more than our budget. I called Roto Rooter after our floor drain backed up. They had someone out within just a few hours. Aleister was super friendly and comfortable to be around, even put up with my nosy questions about how these things work and made some recommendations of some other upkeep/small change things we could do to not have to call him out again. Overall it was a great experience, even if it’s not pleasant to have to call someone out for this type of issue.
I had my main drain cleaned out on 7/24/14. The Gentleman who did the service showed up on time and was very knowledgeable of the problem. He was also quick and courteous throughout the job. Since this was the second time Roto-Rooter Minneapolis came out to take care of a backed up drain, he did tell me about getting the camera job done and he was able to get a camera worker to my house just as he was leaving and they did knock the price down from $300 to $75 that day. It was a good overall experience.
We've used Roto-Rooter a couple of times in the last 10 years. Last week the most recent. They were in and out fast. Completed the job quickly. Very satisfied with their work.

Terrible customer service. I made an appointment to have a dishwasher installed and a garbage disposal un-jammed. I stayed home from work on Tuesday 7/10/18 to meet the plumber, they were running behind so they called to reschedule. They told me they could reschedule for Thursday 7/12/18. I stayed home from work AGAIN only to be canceled on for the second time! I called again for a 3rd time at 10AM 7/13/18 after having an enexpected half day off work and explained the situation that I had already missed 2 days of work and was hoping they would be able to send someone out today. I was then told they couldn’t find any record of the cancelations and that they don’t work after 5pm!

A scam really.. My garbage disposal was dripping and I assumed it needed to be replaced so I called Roto-Rooter. They mentioned there would be $69 dollar fee that could go toward the repair. When the plumber came he didn't even look at or test the disposal, yet he said it would need to be replaced. The plumber then said it would cost $620 to replace the disposal!!!!! I have to say it again... $620 dollars!?!?!? I had the replacement ready, still in the box. We're talking an hour of work at the most! $620 !!??It was the end of the day, so I feel like the plumber didn't feel like doing the work (didn't even look at it), so he quoted me with an outrageous amount of money knowing I would say no which allowed him to collect the $69 trip fee and leave early..
I called Roto Rooter at 8:15 am and Wayne, the Roto Rooter technician, was at my house by 9:30 am. The receptionist was very pleasant and understanding when I called to explain that I had water coming up from my basement floor drain while I was doing laundry.When Wayne arrived at my home, he knew what the problem was after doing some troubleshooting and fixed it in a timely fashion while also cleaning up the surrounding work area when he was finished. The technician, Bill, was very professional. He was courteous, friendly and answered any questions I had. He completed the job in very timely manner. However, their services are rather expensive.
Our garbage disposal was regurgitating and not draining. The plumber,Jason, from roto-rooter did a careful inspection and diagnosis of ourdisposal problem, as well as the plumbing lines in our condo buildings.He let us know right away that our problem was shared with other units,the plumbing lines shared on the vertical lines, and also the drainageshared by a much longer line horizontally. Jason inspected these liinesand located problem areas that need work. He submitted a detailedassessment and estimate, which we will be giving to our condo board,as well as the management company we have.Our own kitchen garbage disposal now works well and the sink drainswell. Jason did a great job and was polite and thorough. I wouldrecommend him and roto-rooter highly.

We were able to get same-day service on Christmas Eve from Tyler who was very kind and professional.
I had a backed up main line, sewage water coming out of my basement floor. I called a different company to come look at it. One day they sent someone to clear the line, two hours and they couldn't get past a blockage. The next day they sent a camera man who couldn't even see the blockage with his camera because he forgot a piece, and said it would cost me $4500 to have lawn dug up and pipe replaced to solve the problem. Needless to say, I called Roto-Rooter for a second opinion. They sent one person with both camera and pipe clearing machine, and he cleared the problem in 5-10 minutes. Needless to say, I was amazed. If you ever have plumbing issues, call Roto Rooter first. They know what they are doing and won't try to take advantage of you like some other plumbing companies.

2nd time posting this, not sure where my first review went (interesting). Bottom line is that I was quoted $460 then charged $780 with a comment that I normally get $260 an hour, and I should have mentioned that the $460 didn't include parts. There were placement and quality issues as well... I was going to drop it, but Roto Rooter called several times after my original internal review, and I finally agreed to let them come out and make it right. The Tech inspected what was done and what I wanted, said he would have to check with his manager and come back in a a week. Nothing happened for over a week, so I felt a desire to share my experience on Google. The next day I received a call with the same script asking to make it right (same exact message as I received before). I called them back and said forget it, and asked them to quit calling me. Funny thing is my post disappeared. So these are, in my opinion, crooks that know how to come off super nice as they pry as much money from your pocket as possible. I will watch, and if this response disappears, I might escalate to the better business bureau.

Chad Larson is so professional he is quick to respond. You can’t find a better person to work with. Have used him several times and that’s why I don’t bother to call anyone else.
The service man was very polite and knowledgeable. I like the 6 month guarantee of a clog free drain. I feel the price is a little steep since the service only took 30 minutes and the cost was $354 before the $50 off coupon.
He Was friendly and had a tough job to get to the floor drain but kept working until he got it figured out.

I had a clogged kitchen sink-both sides. They came out the same day I contacted them and did indeed get the sink working again. The work was satisfactory. However the price was outrageous in my opinion. The serviceman was here about an hour according to my adult daughter and roto-rooter charged $339.00. Next time I will go with a local plumber which the last time I had out charged $135.00 an hour. I also found it odd that one of your reviews was about installing a garbage disposal which the serviceman that came to my house told me to never use our garbage disposal or their guarantee of 6 months working condition would be void.I did have someone call me about my dissatisfaction about the pricing. I should have asked before having them come out if it was hourly or set fee. That was my fault. They did work with me after the fact. As I stated before, I had no complaints about the work done, just the price.

Andrew was the technician that was assigned my project. I was totally impressed from the start with the first phone call to have someone come out to deal with a floor drain that was backing up. The initial call was taken care of very professionally and the individual I spoke to is very friendly. On the initial phone call I was told that it would be sometime after 9 AM that I would be getting a technician. I received a call approximately 20 minutes later stating that they had a technician in route to my location which was about 40 minutes before 9 AM. Andrew was super friendly and professional. He was wearing a face mask which helped my family feel much safer during this pandemic. He covered his shoes and I showed him the floor drain. I also had an issue that I did not share with the call taker with our shower downstairs and Andrew was more than willing to take a look at that as well. He gave me an estimate on how much it would cost and started his work. I can’t say enough about this company. Everybody I dealt with was extremely professional and courteous! We had a clogged floor drain in our laundry room. Brian was able to determine that the cause was a blockage in the main line that goes to the street. After snaking both the main and laundry room he suggested we have a camera check the main line as he felt like the blades on the snake were being caught on something. He was professional and Knowledgeable explaining step by step what he had done. Chris arrived with a camera about 30-45 minutes after and scoped the line. He showed my wife and I as he did it as we were able to watch process live. He was friendly and informative, confirming there was no structural damage to the pipe. Aside from the work being on the more costly side ($570 for both lines) the camera was no additional charge. We’re in the process of updating our home to prep for sale this summer so the confirmation of a clean and working drainage system is reassuring for both us and a potential new buyer. I’d use their service again.

We called on a Sunday evening for drain issues we were having and the dispatch was responsive, polite and knowledgable. They were able to send someone out in less than 24 hours to look at everything. We received a call 45 minutes in advance, letting us know that we could expect someone around 8am. They were prompt, knew exactly what was needed, and were very fair with pricing. He even stayed and helped answer some questions about preventative measures and other common plumbing issues we may face (this is our first house, so we were excited to learn!) I will absolutely recommend this service to everyone and couldn't have asked for a better experience!

I had two drains that were not draining. The technician quoted me for clearing two clogged drains but when he cleared the first drain the second went down as well so he removed the second cleaning from the quote, which was decent of him. All in all it was good service

The people we worked with were AWESOME. Sam was the lead person, and I unfortunately didn't catch the other person's name.They came in and got right to work. The leaking we had was in our garage ceiling (it's a tuckunder garage), and the didn't end up actually finding any issues.Even though they definitely didn't have to, they put the insulation back into the ceiling and screwed in the piece of drywall that they cut out, and taped it with their super-duper strong tape.And, on top of that, since there didn't end up actually being any issue they had to fix, they called their supervisor, and we didn't get charged. They were wonderful! Thanks alot, Roto-Rooter!

Trust me. Don’t use them. They won’t quote you over the phone and then show up at your house and charge you $350 to hook up a dryer... which took less than 45 minutes. I’m very disappointed and feel taken advantage of.

I received great service. It was both efficient and informative. After the plumber cleared the blockage 40' down the pipe line, he asked a few questions including when the house was built, was able to ascertain the construction code of that period and provide an explanation of what may have led to the blockage along with tips on how to avoid it in the future. I would recommend Pete's service to friends and family.
You get what toy pay for. Gabe, the service technician through his skill and expertise gave us some relief from the sewer line issue. There is some further evaluation as to the condition of the line, which Gabe recommended. Not real good news to my ears. So, the cost of the service and the possibility of further repairs, not good. However, the personable, knowledgeable, tech Gabe made the whole experience seem very right! You get what you pay for.

I was doing a load of laundry last night and every drain in the basement level of the house backed up. It was ugly. I knew of a local plumber but didn't want to call, as the last time I felt they were kind of evasive with pricing and I had the feeling I was being ripped off. This morning my wife suggested I just call Roto-rooter and I did. They don't charge extra for weekend work, which was a big plus. The office did a good job keeping me up to date with the plumber's arrival time. When the plumber arrived he was very up-front about what my options were and the pricing. The price I paid was exactly the same as his estimate -- to the penny. He wrapped up within an hour or so and I was very happy with the service. Definitely recommended.

I was given a window of between 12:00 and 5:00 on Monday for service. They called very early on (probably around 12:30 or 1:00) informing there was a delay but they were still going to come out. I thought it was peculiar in how early in the window they called. I called back around 3:00 for a status and was informed everything was still going to happen. Knowing the window was about to close and not hearing anything further, I called them at 4:54 to be informed I would be delayed until Tuesday. The window on Tuesday was 10:00 to 1:00. Needless to say, I called them at 12:25 and said if nobody is here prior to 1:00, the job is canceled. Magically, they sent someone immediately. I told them I took Monday afternoon off and then had to put up with this monkey business again. $339 for something I felt should have been $150 - $200 and didn't offer ANY reduction in the bill. No more Roto-Rooter for me! I will add that the tech did a fine job.

The problem started with a backed up floor drain turned out that the kitchen and floor drain pipes were rusted out. These plumbers were very good at determining what needed to be done and keeping me informed on my options with each discovery. I am happy that they are ethical and diligent. Having issues with utility sink backing up/overflowing. Al was assigned the job and exceeded my expectation, he gave recommendation on what he thought the issues where and advice on how to further avoid/prolong our existing plumbing structure without having to make major repairs, felt the service was fair price, honestly, and thorough.
The experience was good. They were able to come over and clear my drain within 2 hours of calling. The plumber was professional and clean. The only thing to be aware of is the price. It was expensive compared to competitors.

WAY TOO EXPENSIVE! $252 to unclog my toilet!After I signed, it took him less than 5-minutes to unclog the toilet.I asked the guy why it was so expensive and he said, travel expenses. (Did he have to drive to St Paul from Chicago? from Atlanta?)The guy used zero COVID protocols. He did not wear a mask or observe any distancing. I asked him why no COVID protocols and he said, I'm wearing shoe coverings over my shoes. (I guess he exhales through his feet...??) I don't think that Tyler had ever heard of COVID. He seemed baffled by my questions.WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for 5-minutes of work. I would not recommend Roto-Rooter to anyone. A rip off.To be fair, Tyler did take $50 off my bill -- after explaining that he could not lower the price at all because all prices were fixed by the corporate office.$202 is still WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for 5-minutes of work.

Our tech was great (Davek) was on time and very professional. He took the time to explain all aspects and cost of the job (shower cartridge replacement) and completed it within a short amount of time. He then made sure to walk me through operation of the new part (government regulations resulted in a change of how the handle turns to reduce water waste). Would highly recommend.

We were scheduled for an appointment with Scott, they called saying they needed to delay a full day because of another job. When Scott arrived he spent about 3 minutes total looking at the heater, would not diagnose the problem and recommended a new water heater for $2100. The heater is only 9 years old. We decided to shop around and Home Depot could install one for $1000. Luckily we continued to research and repaired it on our own with an inexpensive part. Scott is not a repairman at all, he is a salesman trying to sell new water heaters. I lament giving this man money for a service call that I spent an extra day waiting for. Do not call these folks unless you'd like to throw money away.

We had an excellent experience with Roto Rooter. We were able to get same day service on a Saturday for a clogged drain that went deeper than we could get to. All I had to do was go online and book a time, you can call of course but we enjoy using online scheduling. We recieved a text within an hour confirming our time slot we had selected and also received a notification when they were 30-45 mins out which is really helpful! Our service technician Andrew did a great job and was very friendly. They also follow guidelines to ensure COVID 19 safety. We would highly recommend Andrew and Roto Rooter.

I woke up this morning after several inches of rain fell to find that the PVC pipe connecting my sump pump to the outside world had broken. The result was water being sprayed all over my basement (and occasionally me). I called Roto Rooter and they came to my rescue within 1.5 hours, I was so impressed! The technician was very friendly and professional, he was able to fix my problem quickly and efficiently.Thanks Roto Rooter!

I was quoted 650 for the repair of the pipe going into the main stack in my basement. The job took 1 hour. They had 70 dollars listed in parts, meaning they are charging around 600$ per hour. I had no issue with the work or technician but i am just left with a bad taste in my mouth knowing that i got ripped off and that they knowingly do this to their customers. I will never use this service again. WAY OVERPRICED

Andrew was polite, clean, handsome and very knowledgeable. He understood what to look for when we gave him our problem symptoms. He got right at it and reamed out the pipes. He also sold us a product from Roto-Rooter that will help KEEP the pipes clean and draining properly when used monthly. We felt so encouraged that nothing else had to be done and the problems were SOLVED. We would definitely ask for Andrew (2766) again....but now we shouldn't NEED to call again for ages. Called in for service, they said it would be about 4 hours for the service tech to get there. 10 minutes later, I rec'd a call that he was on the way. Shawna was able to contact Roto-Rooter late on a Friday night when our washing machine drain backed up, and they fixed it that day. Andrew was knowledgeable, informative, and gave us additional ideas and ways to prevent a blocked drain in the future. We had tried unsuccessfully to snake it ourselves, but Andrew was able to pull out and show us what caused the issue. We would recommend Roto-Rooter to anyone who needs quick action, done right!

Brian #936 Showed up on time within an hour from my call. He was very polite and asked what the problem was and just wanted to assess the situation. Once that was done I received an estimate of costs (free). He was finished working about an hour later. I would recommend them to anybody.
Jeff found we were still having a problem after he rooted our sewer line, and called in a camera. He and cameraman were very polite, fun to talk with while they worked, very professional, and answered all our questions. My dogs even liked them. They did a great job for us. Will definitely call them again.

Boy was it a crappy day, Literally! We busted out 100-200 feet of clogged pipes. Cost us $492 for 4/5 hours but that is not bad! Also helped me check my septic at our new house and informed of some things I did not know.Also took off the toilet not to ruin anything in the new house with the big snake machine!Has been the go to for family for years!

We experienced a complete blockage of our main drain line on the 4th of July. We called hoping that they could come out and save part of our holiday as we were expecting guests. We are happy with the job that Roto-Rooter did replacing our water heater. The technician was friendly and knowledgeable. He assessed the situation, removed the old, leaking water heater with as little mess as possible, and replaced it with a new one. He did a good job cleaning up after as well. I would definitely recommend Roto-Rooter and use them in the future. The reason for the 4 stars is that they were not able to come out on a holiday weekend as advertised because they didn't have any plumbers available.

The service was very good. Technition was friendly and professional. He even discussed his workings with my curious 3 year old who desperately wanted to help! My only complaint was the original appointment was scheduled for the standard 4 hour block but they couldn’t make it out so I waited only to have them cancel! They did communicate this information well and offered me a 10% discount for my trouble - so that was nice! I do like their fast same day service though! WILL use for all my plumbing needs!!

We returned home front a camping trip to a backed up sewer. One call to Roto-Rooter and we received prompt service by a plumber to our plumbing problem. The New Brighton, MN office was friendly and easy to deal with. The plumber was professional, tidy, and thorough in describing the issue. They got the tree roots out, told us what we could do to for preventative maintenance as well as educate us on a permanent solution. Friendly, not pushy, I appreciate the service we received. Thank you Roto-Rooter...now just can go tackle that camping laundry!

Easy on-line process for requesting service. Good communication prior to arrival. Technician called to advise arrival estimated time. Technician Jacob Willey did a good job of clearing the blocked drain and cleaning up the work area. Jacob was neat, clean and appropriately friendly. Excellent experience in all respects.
I had a 1015am to 215pm service appointment. At 230 I called and asked for an eta. They said they were running late... They called 15 20 minutes later said the tech is on the way. One hour later at 350pm I called to find out where they were. Then then advise me they do not work on mobile homes. Which I told the appointment maker on 11/29 its the trailer home with the ramp up front. Wasted my whole day, lost funds from taking time off of work to be told they do not service mobile homes.

Needed a back valve that attaches to sprinkler system. However, $1,809 for 40 minutes of work seems excessive. The part was only $330.
Bradley was very courteous! He came during the scheduled time, was efficient and got the job done! It was a bit spendy but it was also on a Saturday night, so understandable.

On time arrival (actually 15 minutes early), thoroughly diagnosed the problem (most likely location of sewer line clog) prior to incurring any charges, and giving me a clear cost quote. Problem was solved without making a mess. Knowledgeable and friendly technician. What more could you ask for?
Waited almost nine hours called disbatch numerous times seemed like no one could give me a accurate eta.Someone finally showed up at around 10pm my slot time was for between 1pm-4pm.Plumber was rude and a few times was just going to walk away and leave even though I had questions. We live in Delano, MN. On Friday, our laundry room floor drains backed up while doing laundry. We called several local drain cleaning companies. We got answering machine messages, others said they could come out on Monday/Tuesday. Since we were afraid to use any water, in fear of overflow again, we called Roto-Rooter. They said they could come out within 3 hours. Since we had to leave to go up north, we decided to stay in a hotel that night and set up the appointment for Saturday between noon and 3. We received a call from the service man (didn't get his name), saying that he was running late. When he showed up (not very late), he went right to work and we were up and running within an hour. He was very friendly and explained things to us as he went. All is great now!! I would recommend them to anyone in need of their type of service.
Last week we had a main sewer line back up into our basement leaving standing water and plenty of cleaning to do. Roto Rooter was super responsive to an emergent request for help and determined it was a paper clog at approximately 100 feet into the sewer line. The technician, Todd, was able to come to my house within 30 minutes because the kitchen sink and garbage disposal were leaking. He did great work, explained everything and was very personable. He even showed me how to get a $40 coupon online. Later, an inspector came to see if any deep water damage had been done. (None, luckily)! I learned much information from both men and will definitely call them again if I need it.

My 96-year-old mother's toilet was running slow and finally overflowed one morning. I call this Roto-rooter Service in New Brighton, and they actually had my mom's last call to them, from 1989! They came within 1/2 hour, sent a couple guys to check if the water had damaged the floor and the ceiling, and then Fred came right after them with his snake and made sure the toilet was running fine. He advised me that the stopper was not closing (different issue than the plugged toilet drain), tried to do a fix and suggested that since the stopper was connected to a much bigger unit, it might be better to replace the entire toilet, if it came to that, and suggested before I just fix that piece (if the time comes) to compare prices. The entire service was $180 which I thought was a reasonable price for three guys, fast service, and everything fixed. Now I know who to turn to if mom has other needs.

We have had Roto-Rooter come out for a couple of different issues and we have been extremely pleased with their work. Everyone I spoke with was polite, helpful and up front with what was wrong and more importantly, with the price. One thing that I really appreciate from the technician, is that they give me tips on how to avoid future problems and mishaps.

Roto-Rooter was very helpful. I have used them in the past and will continue to call them. They came out when I requested them to, contacting me when they were on their way. They were up front on the price. Once I gave them the go-ahead, he promptly brought in the equipment and unplugged the main drain. After this was done, he sent his camera down to confirm it was all cleaned out. Our Tech was Fred, who was very friendly and courtious, making sure everything was cleaned up when he left.

Roto-Rooter was AMAZING! We had originally called three other plumbing companies to come and figure our plumbing issue - when the other plumbing companies came out, they tried to tell us there was no problem (which we knew was not the case). A family friend recommended Roto-Rooter, so we gave them a call and they had someone out that same afternoon. Darrell was very intelligent and worked diligently to figure out what was causing our plumbing issues. Within the hour, he was able to diagnose the problem and give an estimate. I would recommend Roto-Rooter to anyone who has plumbing issues and we plan on using them for any future issues we have.

Prompt service and the dispatchers were excellent informing me if they were delays and what time to expect the technician. The technician was friendly, prompt, courteous, and identified the problem immediately. Additionally he let me know how the cost right away and showed me how to handle the problem if it re-occurred. The service from start to finish was extraordinary. I rarely leave reviews, but we’re a family with two kids under 4 and when our kitchen sink wouldn’t drain (and no one else could come until tomorrow...or next week) I was grateful for the immediate response. Less than an hour after I called, the plumber arrived. He was friendly, direct about what needed to be fixed and both efficient and effective in his work. Then, he took the time to recommend steps we could take to prevent the same issue from occurring in the future. I can’t remember the last time I’ve been this satisfied with someone’s service. The technician was very friendly and one of the most thorough we have ever had. About once a year, our drain needs to be cleaned out and usually the technician does enough to get the water flowing again, but that is about it. This time, our technician spent over two hours making sure he cut through the tree roots that were clogging the drain. Even after he had the water flowing, he put a camera down the drain and when he saw there were more roots further out, he spent more time making sure he got those as well.

Our technician Darrell was awesome. He was very thorough. Started checking at our septic, then mainline and finally found the problem at another clean out. Got that fixed and made sure the floor drain was working probably again. Then finished with checking all of our slow draining sinks and cleaned the stoppers. Great job!
My water heater stopped working, so I called this place.Scott came out to my place, looked at my water heater for about 14 seconds, tried to light the pilot light, it wouldn't light and he instantly came to the conclusion I need a new water heater. All in under 30 seconds, nice.The problem was I didn't need a new water heater. I did some light research, with that research and a youtube video I found that my problem was a part called the THERMOCOUPLE, that's literally all I needed to replaced. I got it done on my own with a 14.99 part from the Home Depot and an instructional video on youtube. And I was quoted over 2k for the install which in itself is absolutely laughable. Glad this trash company stole 70 dollars from me for doing literal nothing. Avoid at all costs.

Andrew was great. We had a major clog. Andrew worked tirelessly for two and a half hours until the water was flowing again. He also gave us good advice for avoiding clogs in the future.

The two gentlemen were very professional and courteous! They arrived within an hour after we called, they called us when they were a half hour away to reassure us of their arrival. Had my sewer main back up. Roto Rooter was able to send a technician out within an hour of calling. Andrew was very knowledgeable and friendly and he walked me through every step of the process. He was able to clear our lines and gave a ton of tips to help with future preventative maintenance. If I ever need their service again I would be asking that they send Andrew back.
I ended up having a root clog in my main line roto-rooter originally did their part in helping me get this figured out. Also the spiel about having a pipe camera tech come out was comical as well (he was the nicest guy i dealt with though I do have to say that), but then the guy to quote the job came out and said it would be over $9,000 MIN to get it fixed (who was a total d*ck). He also tried to scare tactics me with doing it immediately since winter was coming up. I went to 3 other notable companies that all quoted under $4,000 to fix my main line. One of the other companies laughed since an excavator is hardly affected ground freeze.
Service called and was able to arrive 1/2 hour early. Our technician, Dennis, had main line cleaned out and draining in an hour. Dennis was friendly and knowledgeable. He checked his work and cleaned up after he was done.

Roto-Rooter was able to offer same day service when my main pipe started backing up in my basement. The technician was great, professional, and clean while addressing the issue. It didn't seem easy to fix, but they were able to resolve it and get the pipe cleared out. I am also receiving a complimentary camera search of the pipe to learn where the issue stemmed from.

I called on a Saturday, and they were out within 2 hrs. Jim worked his ass off and would not give up until he was confident the problem was solved. This was for a main line backup on an older house that I had just purchased. It had been converted from a septic system to city sewer, and not built in a traditional manner so it was a bit of a challenge. He spent almost 4 hrs working on it. I have the ability to do this job on my own, but it would have cost me more to rent the equipment than it did to have them come out. I would definitely call on them again if needed.

He was friendly, knowledgeable, provided some options for services , cost and got the job done. He made some suggestions for things we can do to keep the problem from recurring. I called roto-rooter for a clogged sink I had. They came out that day to fix it. Also it did not take them long to show up either. The actual Job took very little time. (under 2 hours) Sink has worked perfectly since. The plumbers name was Dave K he was very polite answered question I had and was very clear on the price and it was the price that I paid at the end of the job.
Technician was very friendly, assessed the job and quoted a price.
The work was professionally done on time and everything turned out great.
Our service tech was great! He explained what he was doing and why. He explained how the company worked and there procedures and warranties.

Update: The general manager called me to tell me he's not that expensive, I'm wrong about thinking he's overpriced and then bascially hung up one me. I would ALWAYS call paul bunyan or a few companies for their price, $446 for a drain is double what it should be!!Twice as expensive as other plumbers. They say middle of the road for pricing, but a $446 flat rate for a sewer line cleanout is double what other companies have charged me. Not hiring again

We were just going to get one more ice pack to head out trout fishing and my husband noticed a stream of sewer water in our laundry room We tried to snake it but could not get it unplugged. It was Sunday we called and were pleasantly surprised that the technician could come out in about an hour and no extra fee for weekend.He quickly assessed the problem- gave us a reasonable estimate and was able to fix the issue. after getting my sewer cleaned, they sent a scope to assess and check the consortia of the pipes. there was some pipe damage due to old age and roots. they were able to fix it with pipe lining . cleaned scoped and repaired in a few days. very happy customer!

I have two words to say, “Horrible Experience”!!!The plumber just very unprofessional and rude! All I want was to unclog my shower bathtub! Issue wasn’t major, just I haven’t had much of an experience as I am a new homeowner! It took him barely 20 mins to perform the service! He changed me $340 for a 20 mins job! Besides that, he didn’t do the job well and when I asked him that the water is still running slow, he threatened me with anger, and told he this is what he can do the best! He slammed the bathroom door and was just telling me, “are you not gonna pay me”!! I obviously have to pay for what he asked, but when I asked him the work is not properly done and can you check back again, he told me, “dude, I am not your slave! This is all you get from what you pay, besides I can give a 6 month warranty!!”The plumber guy was a black, so I decided not not argue with him, as I can be quoted as mean! So I just let him go with the service fee! I worried that he can be a threat as he showed he was angry and frustrated!All I was expecting a decent service fee and some friendly behavior from Roto-Roter Minneapolis guys!!!! Never going to call them for service!!! Please do not waste your money calling this place!!!!

On 6/13/2016, a plumber from Roto-Rooter came to our house to help us with many slow drains. We thought that he would have to run a snake from our house out to the street to clear out tree roots, but he said he thought that wasn't the issue, or we'd have known about it. He listened patiently to everything I said, and then offered advice. He actually saved us money by telling us that some of the things we wanted him to do were unnecessary. He ended up snaking one of our shower drains, which now works great, and he told us what to do on our own to take care of some other small issues. He seemed very honest, which I appreciated. I will call them again when we need work done.

I live in a home that has two kitchens with some relatives I care for- an upstairs kitchen & one downstairs. The downstairs kitchen created a backlog of water that undermined both kitchen systems, creating a volatile gaseous smell that was absolutely vile. I called RotoRooter on a Sunday evening, feeling apologetic to be disturbing someone’s weekend so late, but the issue was becoming exacerbated from the discovery the Saturday evening before & it needed urgent attention. They immediately sent out a tech named Michael, who was absolutely wonderful in helping us.Professional, conscientious, respectful, & competent, Michael was quick to assess the damage & get to work. It took him nearly two hours to empty the contents of the downstairs kitchen pipe before things were restored as they were (emptying out the pipes!). He educated me about the obstruction, how to better maintain the piping system (which I always appreciate from any professional in their respective field), & what to look out for in the future in terms of concerns or issues that may surface. Excellent customer service, he was a complete gentleman & skilled in resolving the issue despite it being late Sunday evening (he finished working at 11p.m.).Strongly recommend giving the company a try, and if you do- ask for Michael; his professionalism & competence will speak for itself. No regrets, only gratitude.

We had water in our basement due to a plugged floor drain. I first called another local provider and they were unable to come today. Roto Rooter was available and came out within 2 hours. The tech was professional and reassuring as soon as he identified the issue. He was done in 40 minutes and cleaned up very nicely. Brian #936 was on time after he called, he was very careful to be clean and clean up, good advise (hard to hear - more money) and courteous. Customer Service who setup the appointment was efficient and polite. They wanted to make sure we were not in a difficult situation. They were a great team combined with Brian.
Fred, the technician, was courteous, prompt, very clean, and answered all my questions fully. He wore slippers over his shoes so as not to track any outside or laundry room dirt into our home.Our kitchen/laundry drain was clogged. I had attempted to open the clog with my own snake. Fred, the technician, showed me that the drain had 2 clogs! He showed me where he believed they were, how they most likely formed, and then proceeded to clean the drain line all the way through to the main sewer line where there was clear passage. The plumber, Bill, arrived on the dot, at the exact time that his assistant Patrick had scheduled with me earlier in the week. Bill was very professional yet approachable throughout. He was conscientious about keeping the floors clean as he needed to go all over the house to do this particular job. He made sure I knew what to expect (e.g. no water available during installation, brown water possible during first clothes washing, etc.). When he finished the work, he showed me what he had accomplished and answered my questions. It couldn't have gone better.

Was a little shocked at the price for a simple drain snaking at first, but was pleasantly surprised to find that the price includes having another tech come out to put a camera down the main, and even a followup visit should the camera reveal that more service is needed. Andrew was very friendly and efficient. It took quite awhile to clean up my mess and I was very pleased with his work.
When I filled out my request for service, I expressed there was a clog AND a leak.Aleister was kind and knowledgeable about the clog. He was a drain technician. He did great work on the clog and resolve it quickly but was not able to resolve the leak.I would have to pay a separate “licensed plumber” fee and secondary trip to resolve that issue.Ridiculous!
Down the drain my troubles went. Andrew was knowledgeable and nice. He had to open a bunch of covers and plugs to diagnose the whereabouts of the clogs. He warned me that the price could be high if he had to snake multiple lines, but his diagnosis was right the first time. He kept snaking and retracting and snaking until the dam broke. Not a fun experience, but I felt I got my money's worth and the clean-up was minimal. Kudos, Andrew!

Sewer lined backed up and I needed help fast. Rotor Rooter was very prompt, with great communications. I was given a call 30 minutes before the arrival time to ensure I would be available. The service man took great pains to make sure he was solving my problem in the least expensive manner. After it was discovered that there was still some blockage, he came out the next week to finish the job at no cost.

Andrew the technician was very nice and professional - he cleared our drain in about 45 mins (the whole appt took about 90 mins) and he seemed like he knew a lot about what was going on with our drain and why it was clogged. He helpful suggestions on how to keep our pipes clear in the future. Price seemed a little high for the amount of time it took but they quoted a flat rate w/6 month guarantee and came our really quickly and resolved the issue quickly.

The Problem: A leaky tub faucet, the tub had the older two handles design and the hot water was constantly running.The First Option from Roto-Rooter: $900 (plus parts) to take things apart and rebuild it, they said 50/50 odds it would workThe Second Option from Roto-Rooter: $2300 (covers parts) to replace it with a single handle, guaranteed to work.The Actual solution: My wife decided she would take care of it, she watched a 15 minute youtube video, spent $30 on parts, and around 2 hours actually fixing the faucet. (We spent more getting a quote from Roto-Rooter than the problem cost to fix, lesson learned)I only received the two options, he didn't really go in an look at things he just heard leaky faucet saw the two handles and had the costs ready to go.So either the plumber from Roto-Rooter didn't have any idea what he was doing and just throws out numbers or they charge $450 per hour of work (and take the same amount of time as an amateur without any training).EDIT: After writing my review Roto-Rooter reached and I did receive a refund for the visit. So their customer service was nice and quick to reach out and refund the visit.

Gerve came out within the hour and resolved our main drain clog, masked and observing all covid protocols. I couldn't be happier.
Our technician, Dave K, was professional and thorough in his repair work when we needed help finding and stopping a leak. When he had to change his initial diagnosis, which meant more labor hours on his part, he did not increase his price since the extra time was a result of his error. We were completely satisfied with his work.The reduced score is a result of the dispatch service. We were given a 4-hour time window of 8AM-Noon in which to expect our service. That time window came and went to no avail. I received a call at 12:15 to let me know that the service schedule was running a bit behind and to expect someone to arrive about an hour later. I called back when no one had arrived yet by 3 PM and was told it would still be another 45 minutes to 1 hour before someone could make it to our house. Darek arrived at about 4 PM, four hours after the time window initially provided to us. He explained that cold weather had generated a spike in work orders due to frozen/bursted pipes, which had overloaded their capacity.I understand the circumstances that caused the long delay in our service, but I was frustrated that the dispatchers did not provide more proactive or honest communications about the scheduling difficulties they were experiencing, as they caused me to spend eight hours at home waiting for service, failing to meet multiple time windows they had provided on the same day.Again, the quality of the actual technical service provided was just fine, but the customer service provided by the dispatcher was problematic.

Andrew was professional and courteous. The master shower was clogged due to calcium deposits chipped away by handyman. Andrew explained what needed to be done, noting the possible risks involved. Throughout the procedure, he monitored for leaks and damage to ceiling in room below shower. He let water run for lengthy period of time to insure that clog was resolved. Dave K was great to work with when I purchased my new home. I had a really good couple experiences with Roto-Rooter. I signed up for an appointment online and had my drains cleaned about 3 hours later. It was very easy. The tech looked at my problem, then gave me a price before he began. Very personable worker. They wore booties so my floors stayed clean.
They were prompt with their service. They sent pictures and documentation of the reasoning for the clog as this is a rental house. He provided guidance on how to keep drains unclogged with the tenant as well as myself.

Disappointed in this company, you must provide a conditional baseline pricing over the phone. They needed to send a technician to quote the job. Main drain clogged was quoted at $330. It's under a 100 ft job that would take probably a half hour. I just don't have time to deal with it this time. $160-170 is the going rate around town. Again, if that's your rate, so be it. But if you would have told me the starting rate was over $200 over the phone I would have said no thanks and saved both our time. Instead I waited hours for a technician to come tell me it was way out of my willing budget.

When doing laundry I noticed a back-up of our main drain. It wasn't an emergency so I scheduled an appointment online for the next day between 4 and 8pm. Th as t next day, I got a call a little after 3 that someone would be heading my way and could be there a little early if that worked for me (it did!). Darrell arrived and talked with me about what I had witnessed and quickly diagnosed the issue and quoted me a price. Once he was done he asked if I was experiencing any other slow drains and if I wanted him to take a look while I had him there. I was (3 slow draining faucets) and he quoted me a very reasonable rate. When he left all faucets and drains in the house were running as they should.

Love Roto Rooter! We had a mainline clog, a company by the name of Ultimate Drain out of Oakdale came out for 2 hours and a bill of $330 and didn't know what it was. Called Roto Rooter & Jesse & Joe came out the next day and found the clog at 78 feet and took care of the problem! The serviceman with Ultimate Drain did not go out far enough!Roto Rooter is our go to company! Service tech's are very professional & know what they are doing! Jesse is the best & deserves a big raise!

Old homes seem to have all kinds of secrets so it was important to us to take a look at what might be lurking in the pipes that service our home and connect up with city sewer. We also wanted to know if we had clay or cast iron pipes and make sure there were no obstructions to cause any water damage inside our home. Manny came within the hour we called and could not have been nicer or worked harder to help us accomplish that. He had to enter the pipes from a couple locations since our run to the city sewer/street is so far. That even included chiseling out a brick to get to one of the entrance points. The service was great. the plumber was on time and was really nice. He did a great job. The reason this is a three star and not a five star review, is that when I called to place the service call I asked for just a general price quote. The person on the phone said only the plumbers would do that. When I saw the plumber today, they said the standard price for the drain would be x. If I would have know their price I would have called somebody else, because I think it is too expensive. When they do this kind of practice of not telling you a price or price range, then when they show up you pretty much have to go with it because otherwise now you have to take another day off work and call somebody else to do the work. I thank them for their work but because of this practice and their higher prices I will not call them back.

After a pretty difficult job spread across 2 days, 2 techs and 4 site visits I wouldn’t hesitate to use Roto-Rooter again. The main tech doing the work at our new home was very patient and helpful and determined to get the job done. He didn’t complain and was able to answer all the questions we had as new homeowners. Jesse was our tech and had a terrible time getting access to our main drain pipes through the old caps which clearly hadn’t been touched since the house was built in 1960. I was very pleased at the level of determination to the task at hand. This was the first “emergency” we’ve had since purchasing the house in June and it was a much less stressful ordeal than I would have imagined. The cost was reasonable for the amount of work done and I would gladly recommend Roto-Rooter to others.

I called Roto-Rooter at 7:00 a.m. because our toilet was clogged and water was leaking through our garage ceiling. By 10:00 a technician was here and did a quick assessment and quoted me a price. It took him about 90 minutes to complete and the problem was resolved! A darn paper towel clog! The price I paid was what he quoted. I was very happy with the service and Alan's profesionalism. Thank you roto-rooter!

Wayne from Roto-Rooter was on time, was up front about pricing and worked to clear my tricky drain. They called 30 minutes before arrival so I did not have to take a half day off of work to wait for service during a large time window. I had a clogged floor drain in my basement. After several attempts to clear it myself I called Roto-Rooter. The process for scheduling an appointment was very easy. Joe came out and did a great job. He was a great guy and very experienced. The final bill was $339. Not as bad as I thought. This includes a 6 month guarantee and a scope of my pipe out to the city sewer. Overall it was great dealing with Roto-Rooter. Excellent customer service. I'd use them again.
Will was ahead of the time I expected him, straight to work, outlined what he was going to do, and fixed the issue in no time. Overall good experience.

We had two technicians show up for a backed up main line, one to snake the drain and one to follow-up with camera work. Both technicians were on time and very friendly. They gave us the information needed, gave us options without trying to sell anything and were genuinely invested in our issue. It was a productive and professional interaction. For our first time needing Roto Rooter they certainly make a great impression. We hope we don't need to use them again, but if anything happens they'd be the ones to call. We can recommend them for your issue.
Called them to clean and inspect my main line. There were roots in the main line.Once they knew my house was for sale, they made sure to only recommend the $7,000 repair, not the other, normal couple hundred dollar repair like mentioned on their own website, Roto Root Destroyer. They even went so far as to right on the invoice must be done before sale of house Talk about sticking your nose where it doesn't belong.
Andrew was my tech. He was punctual, professional and worked late on a Friday night. I utilize many companies on my apartment buildings which I share only to offer perspective that I can confidently state that Andrew is among the best. This was a great experience. Thank you.

Brian, the pre-work scout, was prompt and super friendly and knew what he was talking about. The next day on my appointment, John and his partner arrived within the service window, were really nice guys, cleaned my two drains, listened to my concerns, and solved my drain problems. Price was predetermined and was very reasonable. Second time I've used RR in 15 years. They will stay at the top of my list!

Our downstairs water emergency was made much less of an anxiety situation because of our call to Roto-rooter. This area Roto-Rooter service team frankly went way beyond my expectations. I know this brand has been around forever, but for some reason I was initially reluctant to call them when, on a Saturday night, our basement drain backed up. But I needed the work done, like, now. My regular drain company couldn’t get to it until the following Monday. So, long story short, I called Roto-Rooters 24hr line with a plea for help (we had out of town guests visiting and they didn’t warm to the idea of not flushing until Monday!)From the dispatcher who took my call to the arrival of the service technician the service was super responsive, very professional, and left nothing to chance. An email to confirm the appointment, check. A text message alerting me to the technician’s approximate arrival time, check. Timely arrival to our house, check. I was part of a misleading phone conversation on their policy regarding quoting a water heater replacement. They took all of my information as if they were going to provide a quote over the phone, but the call ended with ok when can we schedule a plumber to come out. Not a fair conversation to take someone's email, phone number, name and address, leading someone to believe they will receive a quote over the phone and then not provide one. In the end a water heater replacement is a commodity service and companies that do this all day long should be able to give a quote over the phone. If you cannot provide a quote I do not want you coming to my house.
Great customer service but the price was twice as much as my local guy which was recommended by my neighbors. Price too high. I won't use them again.

Technition (Aleister. Tech # 5504) arrived within two hours of my request. Problem was a slow drain at the water softener. He immediately did the job and cleaned up nicely. Will gladly call Rotor Rooter again, when needed.
I called Roto-Rooter this morning and they had a technician out within an hour. Andrew was very polite and professional. He was able to fix the flushing of our toilet and gave me advice on how to repair the fill valve myself if needed in the future! I would highly recommend him!

Its hard to tell when people are being honest.I had cleanout completed for preventative maintenance on my sewer service. Had them bring a scope out to make sure I didn't have anything more serious at hand.Scope tech said I need to get it lined asap, provided a quote and said he could have guys in tomorrow. I told him I'd shop around prices. He attempted to push the sale very hard, but I'm not going to spend x thousands without getting competitor prices- that would be quite stupid.I asked for the scope video to get price comparisons, the scope was provided at zero charge, so they refused.I paid to have another scope done and receive a second opinion.They went in and found roots still blocking the service, near the end. There was already paper being held up, creating a blockage. They failed to complete the cleanout properly.I paid this service to complete the task. This service also provided an hd camera video and recommendations. Their recommendations were nearly the opposite- yes there are issues here and there, but nothing that you need to get this lined immediately. They said it was pretty average of what they see all the time.I had another service also scope and provide an opinion. They said they would line it, as that is optimum- but once again there is nothing to make them think it should be immediately done. They also cautioned that you never know for sure and its difficult to tell. Not even remotely as pushy. Plus they provided the scope for free, with tech narrating over top of the scope. Apparently they aren't afraid of their competition.I bet a lot of people fall for their fear tactic of forcing an immediate sale. In fact the salesman even literally said that most people just get it done.Strike out in every aspect, I will never use their service again. Period.

We had a sewer backup. It took him awhile to clear and I was worried he was milking the clock but the pricing was excellent and he even cleaned the mess up. Very excellent service! Would call again anytime.
I called because I had a standing water in my kitchen sink. I thought it was a frozen pipe. The plumber came out to my home in Coon Rapids within the specified time stated when the call was originated. Aaron, the plumber who came out to assist me was very courteous and took the time to explain to me what was happening. He told me upfront what the cost was and additional costs if additional time was required. The biggest surprise I had was that Roto-Rooter does not charge higher fees if the service call occurs on the weekend.

We could not be happier with this company. They arrived within an hour of our call for our flooded basement. Andrew, the drain fixer, was friendly and just fun, making a tense worrisome situation feel so much better. He explained everything, and was done in well under an hour, which was much faster than I had anticipated. Roto rooter also sent out a water damage assessor; happily, we didn’t have much permanent damage; just a few area rugs. I’d recommend them to anyone. Darrell was quick to diagnose the issue with our kitchen sink. He was in and out of our house in under an hour. He provided no contact service which kept both of us safe. I feel at ease that our sink is fixed and we have a six month warranty on the labor so if the issue returns anytime soon, all we would have to do is call Roto-Rooter and they would be back at our place in under an hour. Moua was our drain technician and did a quick and nice job clearing our main drain, explaining the process and laying out the costs ahead of time. He was on time and extremely courteous. I would ask for him again if ever needed.
Of course, our plumbing issue happened on Labor Day. We called Roto-Rooter to get scheduled for Tuesday morning because I didn't want to pay extra for a late night, holiday appointment. They said the price was the same for either that night or Tuesday morning, so we had our plumber come out that night. Derek was there within the next hour and took care of our problem, which was actually worse than we thought (we tried to take care of it ourselves, but couldn't get to the clog). He was actually the last plumber that was out to our house almost 2 years ago for a different plumbing issue. Very professional and he suggested a super easy DIY prevention schedule because he thinks our main sewer line is not pitched correctly. Cost was a third higher than what we really wanted to pay, but for the quick resolution, the bonus prevention ideas and not having to take time off work - I think it was money well spent.

It’s a Friday night and I’m at home doing laundry. I go to check on it and there’s water all over the floor. Boo. This happens every couple of years, because my tree’s roots grow into the line. It’s never happened on a Friday night though! So around 8 I call Roto rooters number and to my surprise there’s an answer right away. I asked the gal if it’s possible to have someone come tomorrow. She says why don’t you want someone to come tonight?! Really that’s possible? Does it cost more? She said it’s the same price whenever they come. They have plumbers available 24X7. Yeah!Before 9 Andrew was at my house bringing in his equipment and getting at it. :) Andrew was so nice and professional. My 3 year old son is very into all that’s going on and Andrew talked to him about the machine and what he was doing. Answered all of me and my son’s questions. Yeah 3 year olds ask a lot of questions. He even gave him the job of flushing the toilet. Andrew was done around 10 and I don’t know when my son will stop talking about Andrew and his rotor rooter machine and pipes to the street...Yes we’re satisfied. First time homeowner with first time back up in the basement = Panic. Brian from Roto-Rooter came in kept me calm and was able to explain to me/show me what the issue was. Fixed it same day and went the extra mile to help me figure out how to prevent future issues. Slightly more expensive than other companies I looked at but they were worth every penny. Will be using them again in the future if I have another issue.

Fast and efficient service. Good advice. Easy online scheduling. Probably a little more expensive than a regular plumber, but worth it.
I required drain cleaning on a holiday weekend, and Roto-Rooter came through and provided top notch service with fantastic professionalism. I highly recommend Roto-Rooter for your plumbing needs.

Called for a backing up main line. Service was quick to come and friendly tech. Was something I didnt want to deal with on a sunday night last minute but they made it very convenient

The first plumber (a different company) came and was not able to get the snake through the blockage under our kitchen sink, and I still paid the $99. The first guy said the pipe is probably rusted shut and we need to schedule someone to bring out a camera for inspection, which they could do in five days. I called Roto Rooter at 2:00 pm; Andrew was here around 5:30 and resolved the issue within half an hour. Great responsiveness and communication from the whole team. Roto Rooter is expensive, but they don't charge unless they get it done.
Great service! Was here on time. Called when was 30 minutes away. Efficient and reasonably priced.. would recommend and use again indeed.
The were in and out in about 45 minutes and everything was working.

Called them and they came that day as I had water backup. Cleaned my pipes out to the city sewer and now my water drains just fine. Definitely would recommend!

Awesome work! We couldn't find a plumber on short notice. No one was answering. My husband called and scheduled an appointment with Roto-Rooter and Dave arrived an hour later. Great service. Dave was nice and explained what needed to be done that day and even pointed out other issues that we eventually took care of. Happy with the service provided.

The repairman was good, but the charge was ridiculous. We had a leak in our water main shut off valve so I had to turn off the water in the house. I called the City and they had someone from public works there at the same time the plumber was there to shut off the water main so the repair could be done. They told me the repair would be $960 dollars. I thought this was way to high so I questioned it. They said it’s a flat fee for down time for waiting for city to shut water off. I said but you don’t have to wait for the city, they are already here. He said if it doesn’t take long maybe he can give me a break on the price. So it was either pay the fee and hope I get a break since I did the work of getting the city there so he didn’t have to wait or got without water and still pay $100 to have them come out and try and have city come out again to meet another company. I agreed to have the plumber from Roto Rooter fix it. It took 20 minutes for the repair. I thought no way they will charge $960 since the it was so quick. Nope $960, no deals. I would not recommend them to anyone. Crooks

Same day service even on a non-emergent call. Dennis was very persistent and was able to solve the issue for our slow draining toilets in a short amount of time.
Aleister unclogged my floor drain and tub and explained everything before work was performed. He did a thorough job and I was pleased!
