We used structures for all of the cabinetry in our full house remodel. Their selection was incredible, the customer service was second to none and the install was done quickly and professionally. We will absolutely use Structures again!!

To be fair, the team at Design Lab did get our vision for the kitchen and bath remodel we planned, and their designs did, eventually, work out. HOWEVER, we’d suggest, should you opt for their services, to be very clear about what services they plan to provide and to be certain that they are doing what they promised correctly. In our experience:

1. Design Lab represented themselves as the lead team for our remodel. Without telling us, after we hired the contractor they introduced us to, they signed a contract with the contractor and Design Lab became a subcontractor. This created confusion for all parties throughout the project.
2. We kept the same footprint in the kitchen. Despite this, Design Lab did not measure the existing cabinets correctly. The cabinets they ordered for one wall would not have fit. Fortunately, the contractor identified that issue, but it led to a 2-week delay.
3. There was a gap from design to construction, which was our choice. By the time the project started, the kitchen cabinets we had selected were no longer available. Rather than telling us, Design Lab simply ordered different cabinets they thought we’d like. We didn’t like their choice. This led to a 4+-month delay, during which we had no kitchen.
4. Design Lab often did not order sufficient quantities of materials (like tile, cabinet filler, crown molding, kitchen cabinet knobs). In the deal they made with the contractor, Design Lab apparently maintained control over ordering materials and supplies. This added time and frustration, because projects could not be completed in one visit from the trades brought in by the contractor. All these issues led to completely using the contingency piece of the project budget, even though there was only 1 change order ever made.
5. Design Lab incorrectly ordered the backsplash tile, when they made up for the shortage of the first order. We had 2 different style tiles waiting to be installed, but fortunately this was spotted by the contractor before the tile was to be installed. Design Lab also ordered kitchen knobs that were different from what was in the specs.

All of this made a project the contractor estimated would take 6 weeks ultimately take 8 months!

Wow, hard to find a guy that can literally do anything with wood. Beyond satisfied with my adult Batman bed that lights up and has drawers and hidden space. Everyone loves it and looks totally custom

Juan installed a custom knotty alder, double door with side panels and arched transom for my office. It is absolutely beautiful! Now that I work from home I needed a way to sound-proof my office from the rest of the household activities and it works perfectly! Juan was very professional, timely, easy to communicate with and takes great care in his craftsmanship. I highly recommend him for whatever your carpentry projects may be!

Before contacting this local family owned business I contacted another company and the price they gave me was excessive, Dream Closet Design AZ designed our closets for a reasonable price

I cant say enough about the amazing work that Steven and his crew did! I recently purchased a house and it needed painted inside and out. Steven was able to give me a dead accurate quote over the phone and it was very reasonable. They were quick, friendly & VERY clean. I highly recommend American Veteran Construction and will not hesitate to call them for any other home projects I have.

I had my kitchen cabinets redone by Gerardo and his crew. He was very communicative and responsive throughout the entire process. He even had to come back at a later date to finish two cabinets (because I didn’t order the glass in time) and he came by no problem. A lot of others would have fallen off the face of the earth.

I’m very happy with the quality of the job, how they cleaned up and even knob placement. I highly recommend. It was a great value.

If you want a top-notch quality Framer that cares about their customer before themselves they are definitely a company to call. I would recommend them about anyone else

Steve and Steve at Backwoods Custom have been incredible to work with! The attention to detail is beyond what I expected. Every piece of furniture was tweaked on CAD drawings until the dimensions were perfect. The quality of the finished product is better than I expected - custom bed, dresser, night stands, credenza, desk, floating shelves. You will be hard pressed to find another company that handles every aspect of the process as well as Backwoods - professional, always available to answer questions, quality, fair pricing, timely, updates with photos during the build process and did what they said they would do when they said they would do it.

Cabinet install is horrible. Not level, not complete and zero customer service
