Our water heater died while we were on vacation and our college kid was home keeping an eye on the house. The Howald team did a great job helping us coordinate diagnosis, quote and new install ... all from a distance while working with our kid's work schedule. We could have gotten home to cold water Memorial Day weekend. Instead, we're all set. Thank you!

Arman was fantastic to work with! We had 4 separate plumbing problems that needed work. He provided us with options for our repair, including options for replacement and explained thoroughly each option. There was absolutely no pressure to pick the most expensive option. Instead he helped guide us to the option that really made most sense for our family/lifestyle. In addition, he was on time, completed the work in a timely fashion, cleaned up after himself and is an all around nice guy. I highly recommend Howald for any plumbing needs. Have used the high pressure big chains before and I will never go back.

The initial phone call to Howald was answered promptly and an appointment was made for the next morning. Andrew came promptly, was very polite and knowledgeable and explained the next steps. He did NOT give us a high pressure sales pitch! He answered our questions.He told us that if we chose to buy the water softener and have it installed, it could be done the very next day.After he left he sent two different estimates. We have decided that estimate # 66302919 suits us best. We are very impressed with this company, and will send an additional review after the service has been completed.The work has been completed and Andrew did a great job. Ive used Howald for 10 years. They have always provided professional quality service. Had a slow drain, my snaking skills are lacking! Was able to get an appointment quickly. Andrew was professional and made sure to clean everything up. Very easy to ask questions and he was willing to help me understand. We also talked houseplants! Very friendly and will definitely use again.

Andrew discussed three different plumbing issues with us. He answered questions, offered solutions and was thorough in explanations. Together we decided one issue does not need plumber action. The guys from Howald were great. They showed up on time, were professional, polite, and worked their tails off. They explained what they were doing, how the system worked, and how we should maintain it properly. I would recommend them highly.

My hot water heater was leaking. I called Howald Heating and Air and was greeted by a very nice young lady. She scheduled a repairman and told me he would be at my home within 30 minutes to an hour. The repairman arrived within that time frame. He introduced himself and I showed him the water heater in the basement. He inspected several things on the unit then actually found it leaking and where from. I told him to replace it. He called his supervisor and told him what he needed. The supervisor was at my house within 30 minutes with everything needed. The repairman had the old one out and the new one installed then showed me step by step how to flush the unit. It is recommended to flush them once a year. Both the supervisor (Steve) and the repairman (Ricky) were very efficient and very polite. It was a pleasure dealing with them.

Rapid response from Howald, as usual. We found a puddle and 3 hours later James was puzzling about it with us. Not an HVAC problem, but he helped us figure the next steps. We have been Howald customers for more than 40 years, through three generations; there’s no reason to consider anyone else. Great family and great company

I called at 3:00 PM on a Friday to report that our thermostat was not functioning. I was hoping for a Monday appointment but was told Howald could have someone out that day. David arrived about 4:00. Not only did he repair the stat, but he also performed the annual service on our AC system while he was here. Great experience.

Ricky was prompt and personable. I described the problem that the retailer installing a new dishwasher was having. As opposed to replacing valves. which is what the retailer wanted me to do, at a considerable cost, Ricky suggested some other fixes that were less expensive and accomplished the exact same result. I use Howald for HVAC for several years, but this was the first time using plumbing. Very glad I called them.

Ricky Nelson was great! He diagnosed the problem and then fixed it. He explained his work to us. Now we have a new outdoor faucet and new water shut-off valves.

Nelson, the technician, was prompt and thorough in his assessment. No extraneous service was recommended and his explanation of his findings was understandable. I have used Howald for years and have never had a bad experience from the techs, office staff, and even Larry was answering phones during a cold snap when our furnace went out years ago.

As in our previous experience with Howald, service was flawless: our problem, a broken in-sink garbage disposal unit, was quickly identified and resolved. There may have been cheaper fixes than going with the replacement unit they had with them (and they did offer have us purchases one on or own and have them install it,) But getting this resolved quickly and professionally feels like good value for the long run.

We have needed Howald for 3 separate jobs and I've been impressed each time with workers, their knowledge base, and efficiency. All job estimates have also been accurate.

Plumber was friendly, professional and prompt. But pricing is what I'd have to call gouging. $321 to replace a leaking toilet shutoff valve. Ouch.Response to Howald's reply: You charge $95 just to show up, so when the plumber quoted me $321, if I had turned it down I would have been stuck paying $95 for nothing. No-win situation. (For me) When making the appointment I explained exactly what was needed, later the plumber told me they had flat pricing. I wish you would've told me that over the phone, instead I had to pay $95 to find out. It was a 10 minute job to install a $10 part, I just have no idea how you justify that pricing. If you really are so disappointed feel free to give me a refund.

Shout out to Howald Heating for provided outstanding service once again. Replaced corroded bathtub drain and cleaned drain. The technician, Sam, is the guy!! On time and courteous with experience. Front office personnel, Megan, very courteous as well. Scheduling was a breeze with follow up. Will use again for sure.

I had used Howald for a major sewage line repair/replacement last year and they did well so I went back to them today to replace an exterior hose bibb. Both jobs took place in our crawl space, not the most pleasant working conditions. I requested Arman as he worked on the previous job. He has a great attitude and is meticulous with his work. He installed a high quality, all metal bibb with a new water shut- off valve upstream of the bibb in case it needed work in the future. Job was completed within the estimate given by Steve. This is the performance you expect but don’t always get from contractors. I recommend Howald without reservation.

Prompt availability of service, the plumber arrived on time, was quite professional, quickly diagnosed the problem and offered 2 possible resolutions. This particular employee has visited us before for routine maintenance. We highly recommend Mr. Latifi .Everyone at Howald has been a pleasure to work with.

I have only 38 years of experience with the company, but this is my opinion. Larry Howard and company are dedicated to providing superior service . The technicians are qualified professionals who have been in the business for years and like what they do. Not a chain or conglomerate focusing on revenue, but a small, established , well run company, with a solid reputation, wanting to do what they best.

Sam was quick and responsive. Our sump pump decided to quit and they were able to get is fixed up within a few hours on a Saturday.

I’ve been using Howald for years. They’ve always done a great job. Despite a 2 hour arrival window, they always arrive early in the window. Friendly. Honest. And a fair price.

Andrew was efficient especially given the challenge the shower gave him (which sadly we knew it was going to be a challenge). We learned a lot about our plumbing and are looking forward to a written quote on actually fixing the water pressure problem. Older home and pipes, they just have issues. I would use him again.

Nelson and Howald did a great job and was honest with his assessment of my furnace - unlike the previous companies that serviced it.Five months later Dan did the same thing. It is so refreshing to find a company that gives you honest assessments instead of pushing the sale of new systems.

Dan Powers at Howald is extremely knowledgeable about HVAC systems. Did our spring AC check up and told me exactly what he did so that I could better understand our system. As always, we called Howald first to address our plumbing issues. We had Howald Plumbing repair a leak and install two new faucets. The leak and faucets were minor compared to addressing the nightmare below the sink. Sam did his magic and brought order to chaos. The installation went without a hitch. I will write a second review following he installation.The Tech came to my residence and gave me a thorough explanation of the issues with my system. He made the explanation in plain English and he provided me with a long list of options. He did an excellent job!His sales rep promptly called me with quotes and detailed explanation of the many things to be done. Howald team replaced our furnace last year (Michael and Russ did a great job) and most recently we called Howald to come work on our plumbing.Scheduling was easy and we didn’t have to wait very long (1-2 days at most). Their office communicated appointment details and all the updates proactively, so we always knew what to expect and when the crew would come. Joe and Austin were professional, friendly, and got our vintage faucet fixed in under an hour. The Howald H&AC technician, Andrew Merrell arrived on time for a cold weather shut down issue with our recently installed tankless H2O heater. Andrew diagnosed the problem and advised as to the proper re-set process to address potential cold weather shut down incidences in the future. This service call, like my over 30 years previous experience with Larry Howald's H&AC businesses was excellent, I recommend them highly, and will continue to use Howald H&AC services in the future. Five stars for Howald Heating & Cooling and for Technician David B, I found myself on a Sunday with thermostat not working and no heat, Technician David B was at my home within thirty minutes, diagnosed the problem within fifteen minutes, resolved the issue and within thirty minutes the heat was back and problem solved, he was polite, knowledgeable and efficient, thank you!

Brandon Oxley diagnosed a ND replaced 3 shut-off valves for me. Did an excellent job in doing so. Price for such was surprisingly high, but,I guess, that goes with Biden inflation!

So grateful for the thorough work done today by Andrew. He found the cause of a leak that apparently has been going on for quite some time and has caused further damage to flooring, etc., that will have to be addressed. He was very kind and professional. I would give him 100 stars instead of 5 if I could!

Josh checked thoroughly for any possible gas leaks, since I had thought I smelled one. By being persistent he made us confident that there were no leaks.

I was very impressed with James! Not only did he have a great personality, but he also shared his knowledge regarding the water heater, which is next to my furnace. The release valve was PVC, not copper, and he called someone to get me a guesstimate on the fix. He is also the only technician ever that explained to be sure to vacuum the floor in the closet because the water heater air circulation is on the floor and is blocked with dust/lint.He explained what burning candles do to the furnace and recommended replacing filters monthly. He asked if I had a carbon monoxide detector and how carbon monoxide would get in the air; I had no idea! And he said fire detectors have an expiration date which I didn't realize either. He said he recommends replacing them every five years.Does he do air conditioner inspections as well? Seriously, I only want James Miller to do any of my yearly inspections!

Based on recommendations from other Midtown parents, I am so happy we had Howald do our tricky plumbing vent repair in our 100 year old home we recently purchased.. The pipe had literally rusted through and looked like swiss cheese. The A-Team showed up in force (Austin, Armon and Andrew) and did an excellent job on what could have been a money pit situation. When this was completed, they also unclogged a drum trap on the old claw foot tub.

Dan is excellent. Knowledgeable, courteous, timely. Definitely my go-to. Howald is the best!

Brandon Oxley repaired my toilet and replaced a sink faucet. He did an excellent job. He also offered to help me with any other plumbing questions I had. He helped me with a clogged aerator. He was very professional and competent.

Howald has serviced our home for many years. The consistency in their service has kept us coming back. They are both our plumbing and Heating and Air company. Our most recent pipe leak (old house) was diagnosed and fixed correctly - in fact, Austin (our Plumber on this call) went above and beyond to look at the entire drain system and perform work to truly fix the entire problem, not just patch it up and hope for the best. His attention to detail - and his amazing clean up - was very appreciated. He took the opportunity while our toilet was out to personally clean the floor and wall that is usually covered by the toilet. His work and work ethic are second to none.

The pilot light on my water heater wasn’t working. I called around 4:30 on Tuesday and and they were able to send someone by the end of the following day! Arman was professional, friendly and competent! He got the problem fixed and was so kind to spend the time explaining to me the issues (even though it was already 6:30/7:00 in the evening and I am pretty sure we’ll past the time he was supposed to be working that day- I didn’t feel like he was rushing through it at all). Great experience overall!

Joe was amazing!! We had a leaky spigot and Joe was great. He was extremely professional, loved on my dogs, found the issue and fixed it in under 45 minutes. We had a spigot on the front of our house that leaked into our garage. This was my first time meeting Joe and I can’t say enough great things about him. Weekend after hours quick response to leaking water problem in basement. The on-call technician - Dan promptly called me back and agreed an inspection of water heater and A/C.was in order. I received a free HVAC assessment because I used Howald to do some plumbing work (whole house filter and water softener installation, concrete sink removal, and a couple other projects to update up my basement plumbing). Greg arrived on time, performed the HVAC checkup thoroughly and efficiently, provided me with reasonable recommendations without pressuring me (I need a new AC unit, but he said, and I knew, that expense could wait until the spring), and was all around friendly and professional. I would definitely use Howald again for my HVAC and plumbing needs.

We suddenly lost air conditioning when temps about to reach 100. Howald provided same day service, identified the problem and repaired it quickly and efficiently at very reasonable cost. The technician was knowledgeable and professional. We signed right up for their maintenance program. Would highly recommend Howald to all.

I've been using Howald now for years after going back and forth w/ other groups (both solo truck operators and other large groups)...truly here HOWALD KNOWS it's customers... they are very candid and provide great diagnostic to those, like me, that are not plumbing savvy. Therefore I feel in control of the situation and not under pressure to act as if i'm backed in a corner.Watching what Sam did today (4 different plumbing projects) it would have taken me 2 full days to figure it out and buy parts where he was done in 4 hours. I hate writing reviews. Almost never do. But I will for this company. But it's not going to be in depth and effusive with praise. I will just say that since moving here 4 years ago, Howald is who we have settled on to take care of our HVAC (and plumbing, too, if need arises) issues. And that I waited a week to get James as my service tech. My dealings with him and the company have been that good.

Had Howald install a completely new HVAC system (furnace, A/C unit, duct system) in my 160 year old home. Could not be happier with the results. Installing an HVAC system in a home that was never designed for one brings up unique challenges – I didn’t want it to be overly intrusive (the home has solid brick walls). Howald was able to install the entire system in a very unobtrusive way using very small spaces and only a couple available runs to the second story. Tim from sales was very knowledgeable at the initial consultation and Chris and Jesse from the installation team could not have been greater.

Very polite, knowledgeable, and expeditious. However a bit confused about why the temperature and pressure relief valve is not run to the drain similar to the softener. He stated not to code because can’t see if water is running. The manual says run it to drain with clearance of 6 inches. Also pan drain shows running to same drain. Also, he stated operating same relief valve voids warranty. Again manual states operate annually to confirm still works properly.

Arman Latifi did a great job! He tried his best to repair my faucet but wound up having to replace it. He left the area neat and clean and I am very happy with the results.

They checked for leaks due to a high water and sewer bill. They found no leaks but could determine what caused my usage to skyrocket.

They have installed, repaired and maintained my HVAC system for my home and company.My furnace stopped working at my house on New Years Eve. I wrote about my misfortune of the internet. I received a call from a Holwald employee New Years Day after reading my note on the internet. I had Holwald employees here that day (New Years day) and a new furnace and air conditioner installed the next day at regular prices.

Howald offers the best service and reliability of any company in town. Many years ago, they saved me from buying a new air conditioner by replacing a $50 part. Monday 10/18, I had water in my crawl space and Arman came the day after I called to fix everything - a new sump pump. He communicated all along so I knew exactly what was needed. I like Larry and have known him for several years. This isn’t meant as an attack or a poor reflection on Larry, but the issue on my home air conditioning unit is now entering its 2nd month. I’ve now been told three times the issue has been fixed and now my coil evaporator is completely frozen solid. This is beyond absurd.There is no absolutely such thing as 24/7 Emergency Service either. I’ve been on hold for over 30 minutes on a Saturday morning and no answer. So whoever Larry has farmed this 24/7 call service out too, they aren’t doing what Larry pays them to.Time for a Better Business Bureau complaint and chargeback on my Visa.

Beginning of November our kitchen sink got a leak. We purchased a new one and setup for an install through Home Depot but the install company never came out and other companies refused to do the install for us. Howard heating was out the next day after I called them and completed the install for us. Very thankful for them for actually returning our call and getting us taken care of so quickly! A loyal Howald HVAC customer for many years, but my first time using the the plumbing department. Howald Plumbing was recommended by my regular plumber who at the moment has more work then he can service. The experience was smooth and seamless. Sink 2 needs some new parts and a return visit is scheduled. Stay tuned I will post again once the second sink is repaired.

I have been using Howald to replace the systems in my almost 100 year old home - gas lines, water lines, basement sink, back-flow valve in basement, toilet, faucet and new HVAC. All team members have executed a well laid out plan (eliminating decades of extra pipes and nonsensical placements). They communicate well, charge a fair price and don't cut corners. I also appreciated the follow-up inspection after the HVAC installation.

Joe was at our house 15 minutes after we smelled gas. He was very thorough in his work as well as his explanations to us. He fixed the problem to our satisfaction and, because of him, we feel safe in our home.

Howald came out to fix a non-working, 6 year old AC unit at our house.They got everything working, and then a couple days later, a different component unrelated to the first repair, failed. They came back out in the same week (the day after I called to report the issue) and fixed it at no charge. Dan and Dave were both extremely knowledgeable and personable, and gave great advice without trying to push or sell me on something I didn’t need. Absolutely would recommend and will use again!

The gas company found a gas leak today and obviously had to shut off our gas. Being that it is freezing, we had a big snow, and it’s a Monday, no one really was available. I have two dogs and a 10 month old so finding a hotel was going to prove most difficult. My parents recommended Howald and I called them up and was told the earliest they could do was tomorrow. I started to panic and the wonderful lady on the other end said she would speak with the manager and have him call me. He called back moments later and said he could have someone out between 4 and 6. At 2pm the technician called and said he was on the way. Give or take a few minutes the job was done within half an hour. The technician was wonderful. He was quick, knowledgeable, and professional. He also turned the gas on right then and took care of calling citizens himself. I am floored by how they handled this entire ordeal. They made a really tough situation very easy and stress free. Highly recommend.

They WILL refuse.My husband and I have used Howald a few times over the years, in both our previous home and our current home. The reason that they are receiving two stars is because until now we had not experienced any issues.Yesterday our A/C went out. As usual, when we had an issue we called Howald. They came out today, and the technician James was great. He replaced a part that was malfunctioning, cleaned off our unit, and talked through our options over time as our unit likely was near the end of it's life. We didn't want to refill the refridgerant yet because it was going to be very expensive, and wanted to call our home warranty company. James has mentioned that they don't work with warranty companies as a policy, which I didn't realize was going to be an issue as we were going to pay out of pocket and submit for reimbursement.I called Howald back, not 20 minutes after the technician had left our home. They said that they refused to speak with my warranty company to answer their questions, and also wouldn't be able to provide me with any documentation about my service or needs without coming back out and charging me again. I simply needed a sheet of paper answering a few questions about what they just looked at on my A/C. My warranty company attempted to call for me, and they still refused.We would have given them likely $1000's in more business for the convience of speaking with the warranty company OR providing me with documentation of their visit. And we're out 100's more dollars than need be.

We called before lunchtime, an expert was on our door by two o'clock. P.M.He quickly diagnosed the problem, explained it expertly so as to prevent it recurring, and fixed it using the simplest and smartest possible approach. Even hung around to make *certain* the faucet was no longer dripping, at all. Super easy to work with, and thankfully great at what they do.

Joe Perkins reviewed out plumbing problems with a toilet that would not refill. He found the cause of the problem and corrected it. He was courteous and thorough in his explanation of the problem and inthe solution. He was very personable but wasted no time in making the necessary repairs.

We found a minor gas leak under our 23 year old stove. After calling Citizens, we called Howald and they were out and fixed the problem within a few hours and for a very reasonable rate. I have used their HVAC division for many years but never had a need for the plumbing division. I was very pleased and I recommend them for plumbing as well as HVAC. Very honest and reliable family run business. Great communication along the process.

I needed an annual maintenance of my furnace unit and a lesson on changing the filter. Frank was helpful, respectful of my wishes and provided a pressure free explanation of a method of increasing my air filtration to assist with seasonal allergies. I was very happy with the service call as well as the unit I bought and had installed by Howald a year ago.

Harry from Howald Plumbing came out last Wednesday to repair a dripping bath tub faucet. He did a great job. A week later and not a single leak or drip. He was very professional and even cleaned up when he was done. I had several other quotes for the repair and Howald not only had the best price but I found them to be the most professional. Talked to their Service Manager, Steve, who was great. I explained the situation and he was able to trouble shoot it over the phone and quote me the repair price. I am very pleased and impressed with Howald Plumbing and will definitely use them again.

I had a few basement plumbing items I needed done- plumbing for and installing a new water heater and filter, removing an old concrete sink and replacing with a new sink, repairing a drain, and fixing a couple not-to-code items. Steve and his team arrived on time, completed everything by the end of the work day, and left the place cleaner than when they arrived. I’m so happy with the final product and absolutely recommend them to anyone!

Howald installed a completely new system: heat pump, air handler and thermostat. The installation was problematic as the existing wire between the A.H. and heat pump was causing connection problems. They found a frayed wire, confirmed everything was working and left. 2 days later the system was heating & cooling simultaneously. I called for service and they promised to be out soon. Matt, the service manager, overheard my service call request at the office and took it upon himself to respond. Within the hour (5:00 pm on Friday) he arrived, installed a wireless connection system to bypass the bad wire and fully resolved the problem. That kind of personal initiative is remarkable. Well done!

The tech advised that an electrician was needed when there was actually a very simple fix that our electrician diagnosed and fixed in a matter of only a few minutes.Why, despite that simple oversight, is this a 5-Star review?When I communicated the matter to Howald by email, Matt at Howald called me within minutes and asked a couple questions, with genuine concern, for more details. He immediately made it right with a sincerely regretful apology, no excuses, and a full refund for the service call even though I told him I wasn't looking for a refund, only that I was providing feedback to help reduce the chance of similar oversight on future service calls.Over the past 30-some years, I've worked with several HVAC and other residential and commercial facilities service companies for home, rental property, and business needs. I've experienced the full spectrum – the good, the bad, and the ugly ...Howald is definitely one of the Good.Despite the hiccup on this service call, we'll confidently continue to work with and recommend Howald Heating, Air Conditioning, and Plumbing.

Awesome overall experience with Howald! For as much as we didn't want to get another HVAC system, Howald staff came off as very genuine with their service and made the experience convenient and easy for us. Don went over different options that fit our needs and didn't force us to pay more if we didn't need to. Don was able to get me a better price then I expected- which was great! Technicians Jake and Mason came out the next day and installed our new HVAC system. They were on time and went out of their way to answer any questions I had. I was very pleased with our experience and would recommend them to anyone. Will be using Howald again!

Annual maintenance, but as a new owner I inherited an air cleaning system. Mike and I are both trying to get up to speed and make sure it is functioning properly. He was helpful in working with the vendor who made it. Neither one of us was around when the system and furnace were originally installed. Ordered the new filters and bulbs and he will be out to install at no charge!

Our furnace had been acting up for a few days and of course it is going to be extremely cold tonight. Called Howald first thing in the morning and they were able to send a technician right away. He quickly diagnosed our problem and fixed the issue.

If you need to buy something new, Howald is great. I used to use them for years for maintenance. However, twice now, I've needed something cleaned or repaired and they instead try to avoid the work and just sell me something new. The first time this happened was last year with my water heater. It is older and I wanted it flushed. The tech came and just looked at me and said well this is a lot of work to flush, might leak, and probably just get a new one... He just stared at me. I paid him his service fee and he left. I wasn't in the market for a water heater (when mine was working fine) I said no thanks- I then had someone else come- he didn't mention it, immediately flushed it without any issue and very minimal sediment, and I'm good to go. Today Howald came to look at my AC in response to a home inspection response to have it service and entire HVAC system cleaned. They only scheduled for a minimal amount of time so that was the first issue. Then, we had to convince the tech to do service work and cleaning maintenance on our old but still working AC. The whole time he kept mentioning the age of the unit, etc. If you're looking for maintenance or repairs and not to buy something brand new- don't call Howald. In both cases, they didn't want to do the work.IN RESPONSE TO THE BELOW: The simple call to the office included the office arguing with my partner that we asked only for AC service- and instead of taking our word for it - they had to go play back the old recording of the call! Luckily, Howald granted our *second* request to have the work done and the tech stayed. In response to the confusion because of the season: I called in response to a home inspection and read verbatim what I needed so there should be no confusion on what people typically ask for. After the call to the office, we weren't going to call back to be argued with again. Your long voicemail yesterday asking that I talk to you and then also accusing me of leaving two reviews (which I did not) doesn't help. I let the water heater thing go the first time. What I've also let slide is I bought and paid for a maintenance contract that I wasn't able to use before the expiration date for a variety of reasons which took me away from home (which I explained over the phone). No compromise from you there either. My money was gone. Fine. Again, I didn't leave a bad review. So between the first water heater service (sales) call, the maintenance contract, and this, I had no faith a phone call would do me any good. It hasn't before. I'm also out 366.00 for yesterday for a visit that lasted a little over an hour and several hundred for the other two issues with Howald. A review is warranted. In addition, we're having another company come by today to do what I asked for - inspect and diagnose the AC in detail (not just tell me it's old and recommend a new one). We didn't have to wait 2 weeks for that appointment.

I’ve used Howald for over 10 years and they are reliable and honest. I recommend them. They installed my furnace, AC and water heater.

They came to service our two air conditioning units and furnaces. We have been using Howald for years. Knowing almost a year in advance that this visit would require maintenance kits and other products to be inserted into the units, they brought those products with them to our house to be installed. The only problem is that they marked up each and every one of the products by over 65% even though with a few days notice I could have gone online and purchased the exact same model and saved 65% on the cost. I don't like this way of doing business. I would like Howald to make money, as I believe they deliver good services, but I don't appreciate being raked over the coals for 65% mark ups on goods that are easily purchased elsewhere for a fraction of the cost.Thank you for your response below. Yes, we have been long time customers of yours and have spent more than $20k with you over the last couple of years. That is all the more reason why I am disappointed in the excessive markup and total lack of transparency for something you or your staff knew we needed for an entire year and could have provided us with the option of having you purchase and bring it to install OR for us to purchase on our own and you to install. Had you been transparent about the process I would be on google raving about you and providing you with a 5 star review for your transparency and excellent work. But that is not what happened. And when I called after the fact, I was provided no additional explanation other than that is what you charge.

We cannot recommend this company enough. After countless estimates and experiences of being let down by other reputable plumbing companies, Howald really stepped up as a reliable, trustworthy, fair, & knowledgeable company. We were fortunate to get the father/son duo and they not only fixed our main problem, they tweaked a few other plumbing glitches for a fair price and made our plumbing even that much better. They are officially our go-to's for all plumbing, heating, and air conditioning problems we will face in our future. Do yourself a favor and hire them!

He came in, was very friendly, not only checked the AC and furnace (and identified issues and fixed them quickly), but also checked to see that we had an outside issue that he recommended fixing to help our entire system run better. He also explained every detail I needed to better understand how my system operates and how conditions can affect the rest of my house. Recommend them! We have always had great experiences with Howald Heating & Air. Howald came within 2 hours recently when our heat was not coming on. Dan showed up early and diagnosed the problem within minutes. He had the part on his truck and we were up and running again. When finished, Dan explained all he did and gave us a mini lesson on heating and air. He was very informative and not once did he try to up sell us. Howald Heating & Air's staff makes things feel less stressful when our system goes on the fritz. They continue to earn our business because of their honesty and integrity.

Greg was punctual for our semi-annual HVAC service and called ahead from his previous location. He has been our service tech for previous visits. He went straight to work checking out our system. We had a $78 upsell to flush dust from the air conditioning A coil evaporator unit inside our furnace. The airflow travels over this coil whenever the system is used, whether for heat or A/C leading to loss of efficiency if dirt or dust accumulates.

Installed water softener. We have dealt with Howald for more years than we can count. Never dissatisfied. Thank you Larry.

After dealing with the incompetency of LOVE Heating and Air, I am taking the advice of my neighbors and shifting all my property management HVAC business to HOWALD. Love is not responsive. They never call to address a problem-- absolutely no follow up skills. I get the feeling LOVE does not care much about the service they provide. Time for me to move on.

James was an outstanding technician. Took apart the air-conditioning unit and thoroughly cleaned and serviced it. Noticed that the drain from the condenser lacked a trap and remedied that. We want James to be our man for A/C and heater service in the future.

I have received nothing but great service from Howald.We found out that we'd need to replace our AC unit earlier this summer and had a team out within a week to install during one of their busiest times of the season. The sales person that we worked with went out of his way to get us scheduled as soon as possible and even offered to help with a stop gap solution since we couldn't be scheduled earlier. Once he learned that it would not work, he explained why he couldn't as opposed to unnecessarily charging us money for something he knew wouldn't work in the first place.Every technician we've had out has been professional and extremely knowledgeable. We recently had our AC go out due to an incorrect fuse and made an emergency service call around 5 pm. A technician was out by 9 that evening to fix it. We were charged although it should have been under warranty. We called the next day and were reimbursed for most of the charge.Overall, our experience has been extremely positive with Howald. They appear to be a local/family owned business that will do anything for their customers and hire very knowledgeable and professional individuals.

This is the second time we've had Howald out to our home and they provided a disappointing experience.The first time was a water heater that they said was too old to clean, we then called the company out that installed the water heater and it was promptly cleaned (Roby Plumbing). Seemed like the tech was making excuses to get out of performing the work.The second time was today. We scheduled them to do service our HVAC system and we did not spell out for them that we meant the AC and Furnace, we were only scheduled to have our AC serviced. Only after a stern call to their office were we able to get them to service the furnace. Then the tech that showed up today just wanted to carry on about the age of our unit instead of providing a diagnosis of the issue.We've had other positive experiences but those are before these last two. I'm all about a good experience with a company when I have options to get the exact same product from other sources and we simply did not have that here.

The sales team at Howald demonstrated that they treat customers like family. I asked them to quote an entire new heating and cooling system after an inspection from one of their competitors showed that I had a leaky heat exchanger. They quoted the system but also did an independent inspection of the heat exchanger and were able to prove that it passed a pressurized leak test meaning that I did not need an entire new system. This saved me thousands of dollars. I am thankful I called them!

Two words-First Rate! Had a 15 year old HVAC unit that needed to be replaced. After (5) bids from other Companies, on advice of my Friend, called Howald and met with Tim F. Should have called them first. Tim explained everything in detail and in a way I could understand. He has over 24 years experience and was willing to work with me on price. Their bid was $300 less than all others and he was the only guy that actually listened to me and didn't try to up-sell me or push something I didn't want.Set up install 2 days later and their Installers (Jason and Chris) actually showed up 20 minutes early. They have been working together for over ten years and one knows what the other needs or is thinking without asking asking. They work in perfect tandem and knocked out the job in less than 5 hours. They displayed a thorough mastery of knowledge on every question I had during the install and left my house cleaner than it was before they showed up. After the install, Jason took 10 minutes to go over energy efficiency best practices, maintenance, etc. He truly cared about his Customer and about making sure that every nut and bolt was tight and everything was perfect.If you don't want high pressure sales tactics and an honest Company that delivers on what they say and prides itself on integrity then call Howald.

I called Howald to do warranty work on my AC that they installed 4 years ago. My house was extremely hot. The technician told me it was because my attic insulation was not sufficient. $85 service fee. I then called an independent guy that I was told about. He came by and did an inspection and replaced a capacitor. Cost me $175 and my house has been cool ever since.

Our furnace stopped working on the snowy and cold Friday night before the holiday weekend (New Years). We called the 24/7 number at 7 pm and the emergency technician (Josh) called us back right away. We had a Howald tech out who replaced a fuse which fixed our air, but the fuse blew again overnight.I called and there was a new tech who came out a few hours after I called. James was very detailed in trying to locate the problem causing our fuse to continue to blow. He found some wires in our condensate pump that were improperly connected and this led to the discovery of the root of the problem - the pump was going bad, but because of the wires being hooked up improperly, it was killing the entire a/c unit versus the condensation overflowing in the laundry room.He replaced the pump and in doing so discovered that the hose that drains the pump was kinked which was likely the cause of the pump overworking and burning out.He was very courteous and expresses an apparent passion for his job. I would recommend James (Howald) to any homeowner in need of HVAC work.

Howald Heating & Air Conditioning installed new heating ducts yesterday in our crawlspace. We are pleased with the flexible ducts, but also with the placement of them in our cramped space. They hung the ducts close to the floorboards and maximized the space in the crawlspace. We are very pleased with their work and would call them again.

I can't speak to their actual heating and cooling work, but I still testify to their customer service. I needed a filter cabinet cover for my AC unit -- just a silly little cover. One of their technicians took the time to look at pictures of unit, get measurements from me, and fashion a cover out of scrap metal -- all of this during a heat wave when they were super busy. Super impressed with their care for the customer, even one like me who was only buying a small metal scrap.

Howald has done 2 complex plumbing jobs for me, and installed a mini split ductless AC unit on my 2nd floor for zone control.On one plumbing job, they were able to find a way to substantially reduce the effort, cost, and time for my benefit.For the ductless AC unit, I had 2 estimates of cost from 2 companies, and Howald was almost 50% cheaper for the same unit.They answered all my ignorant questions and were friendly each time. If there was a hiccup in something on the job they made it right.
