Cornerstone Cabinets came to my home in Scottsdale and performed a full kitchen remodel. This included a full kitchen cabinet makeover, along with brand new Marlam granite countertops. I was incredibly impressed with their cleanliness and friendly crew. I would highly recommend Cornerstone Cabinets to anyone in Scottsdale looking for a kitchen remodel in the future.

Started a conversation with an employee Priscilla, to get some cabinets. All was going well. We go into detail regarding the parts and dimensions. The vendor, the sizes, and accessories were decided on. I got a quote for the three cabinets 490.00. I asked a few questions and she was going to look into it for me. I email two more times. Nothing. No bounce-back just, no reply. I decide to call. I get Andrea, I had to re-explain the entire project, I send the email conversation to her. She looks it over and confirms that the project can be done. Apparently Priscilla left the company, no one closed her account. Andrea says she will send me the invoice for the quote by the end of the day or the next. After not hearing from her. I call again. I ask where the invoice is for me to order the cabinets. No apology for not communicating or not sending me the invoice. Andrea say's she's unable to honor the quote that was given. She had no idea where the last person got the numbers. The first quote was 490.00 the quote that Andrea gave was 1550.00. The email communication was quite clear and both parties were in agreement. I express if that was the case I would not like to move forward with the project, and that I was very disappointed of the lack of communication and delaying my project. I feel they did a bait and switch. Now Im in a crunch to get a project completed.

I met with Eric Raskin of Authentic Custom Cabinets about new kitchen cabinetry. The kitchen had already been designed and Authentic was given a write up with photos detailing the complete layout and everything that was required. Authentic agreed to supply all cabinetry as per the write up for a total of $35,722.50. Additionally, since Authentic did not do installation Raskin agreed to personally bring in his installer and arrange for and oversee the installation if I agreed to buy the cabinetry from Authentic. Prior to signing a contract I confirmed everything in writing. However, after I signed the contract and gave them a deposit of $17,861.25 Raskin notified me that Authentic’s position was that their contract voided everything they had promised and agreed to, both verbal and in writing, to make the sale and that they would not honor the agreement they had made with me. Authentic now demanded an additional $4,000 to supply all the cabinetry required by the write up and informed me that Raskin would have nothing to do with the installation. Raskin wrote in an email “This Contract Agreement has in no way any connection to any said write up agreement…Our Contract clearly states that it supersedes any and all other agreements, whether written or oral. I do not have any recommendation for an installer...You will be required to hire your own installer.” I insisted that Authentic and Raskin either abide by our original agreement or refund my deposit money. They refused. I was forced to hire an attorney and file a lawsuit, District Court Clark County, Nevada Case No. A-20-816744-C, which is a matter of public record. Nevada requires these cases go to arbitration first. The arbitrator heard the case and ruled in my favor and ordered Authentic to refund my deposit. Authentic refused to abide by the arbitrator’s decision and appealed the case thereby requiring a full trial. The trial took place and the trial judge also ruled in my favor and ordered Authentic to refund my deposit. The judge wrote in his decision “As to Authentic’s alleged breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, the Pro Tempore Judge concludes that Authentic acted so cavalierly, so dismissive, and so recklessly … that it contravened the very intention and spirit of the Contract.” I am now trying to collect the money awarded by the court. I went to another Cabinet company and they supplied and installed the exact same product at a cost that was lower than what Authentic would have received even if they had honored the original agreement they made.

Like any large job which ours was, there will always be a few issues along the way, especially during COVID-19. Jeff was extremely responsive and unlike so many contractors today, he kept us informed and actually showed up on time when he said he would be there. He is personally very skilled in all aspects of woodworking and quite resourceful. They are flexible to your needs and totally committed to exceeding your expectations.

Just Wow! We just had our new custom kitchen island installed and it looks amazing. We are doing a complete kitchen remodel and we started with having a custom cabinet design made for our kitchen island. The granite will be added next week and now all the plumbing and electrical is done and ready to go. Once this is done then we will start on the kitchen cabinets. We are doing an all custom tiered design for the cabinets that will look amazing. We cannot thank Mike and the team at MK Woodworks enough for the beautiful design and the quality of the work they did. We reviewed multiple Phoenix cabinet makers and no one was able to meet our demands and timeline but MK Woodworks. Skylar and his father Dale start off as sweet and promising until they have your money. My job is 5 months past deadline and I can’t get a text back for the life of me. They don’t have an ROC on this new company they started but I’ve researched and came across their previous company… and now I see why they tried starting over under a fresh name. If you plan on hiring them, better to just give them your money and save yourself the heartache.
