Steve came to my house. Nice guy. I told him the work I wanted done. Reface fireplace, tear down a wall, new flooring and baseboards. My estimates were coming in from $25 to $35k. Steve didn't blink an eye, said his bid would be double. There will be a cold day in you know where that I pay up to $70k for this job on a 1650 square foot house!!! I don't like rip off artists!

Dreams do come true! My wife and I bought our house in north Phoenix almost 2 years ago and have wanted to replace the original 1994 kitchen ever since. We interviewed three different contractors when we decided to remodel our Scottsdale home, but Shannon Terembes and Five40 Remodeling stood out as the clear winner for a number of reasons. To start, we knew that his company had completed many remodels, and would therefore have the knowledge and experience to give remodeling advice. We also felt that they had probably already come across any problems that might arise with our project, and therefore, would know how to successfully deal with them. In addition, Shannon informed us that when they start a project, they work through to completion without jumping around to other projects. This was a huge selling point for us, as we had never experienced a contractor that had worked this way – with most juggling multiple projects at the same time and not showing up for days at a time due to being on another job site.

The entire project was well orchestrated from quote to completion and the work was of superior quality and craftsmanship. The crew did what they said they were going to do, including showing up at our house on time each day and focusing on what they had told us would be happening that day. Nearly a year and a half after the completion of our remodel, we came across a concern with one of our cabinets and notified Shannon, who responded that very day and had scheduled a repair within a week. Watch out for this company during rush hour traffic. Whoever drives the black Chevy/GMC crew cab towing the Holtzman trailer will bully his way over from the slow lane to the HOV lane almost hitting other vehicles with the trailer.

We buit our house with David Mikes. We were worried we wouldn't know how to handle such a large project. Fortunately, we were lucky enough to have David as our contractor.

David would set up weekly meetings with his subcontractor or company contact. We would meet with David and the specialist in the area we were looking at that week. The meetings were always very productive because David was right there helping with decisions, dimensions, architectural plans and logistics to make the process smooth.

I have four other fiends who were building at the same time with other companies. They did not have the same easy experience we had. Most of them had to hire designers and work on their own schedules to make selections needed to move forward in a timely manor.

David was very good about reminding us about costs. He wanted to make sure there were no surprises when we decided to upgrade in many different areas.

We have never had trouble reaching David. He is very prompt in answering phone, texts and emails. He handles situations quickly without any complaint. He has handled the punch list very responsibly. We have no complaints.

Over the building process we also became very good friend's with David Mikes. Through all the many meetings over the build time, he was always very enjoyable to be around. We all have many good memories of building our dream home.

Bought this home over a 11 years ago. Shoddy work was done as a fix and flip. No moisture barrier for shower and there was a lot of water damage. Researched companies and found Az BathMasters. Had good reviews and BBB rating. Shower is now beautiful. All fixtures replaced, including light kit (blingy one). Not what I would have normally picked, (went out of my comfort zone, lol) Quartz countertop also put in. All came together nicely. Changed color scheme and looks nice. Now thinking of different tiles on bathroom floor ??

It says a lot about a company when they follow through with everything they said they would do. It might seem like a givin but working with so many builders over the years you learn its not. And when you work with people like Ellen you learn to appreciate it. Hope to work with her again on the next one.

From builder grade to Beautiful!

When we purchased our winter condo last year here in Tempe we wanted to update both of our bathrooms. We contacted Hochuli design company and got the ball rolling. We met with Scott & Lorrie only a week before we were to return to our summer home in Chicago. We were immediately impressed with their design showroom and them. With in a week they came out to our condo to walk through and understand our wants and ideas. After that we were under contract to have both bathrooms completely updated while we were back home in Illinois.

We had constant communication with our designer Amanda and contractor Martin. We felt a high level of trust allowing them to work in our condo while we were back home in Chicago.
They worked seamlessly with our building management and provided us with daily updates on the progress through the computer program Buildertrend. In fact having the daily updates with photos was like living through the construction without any of the dust! The preparation to prepare our condo for demo and construction was unbelievable! Plastic walls, heavy duty flooring protection etc. Their timeline for the project was accurate and they worked within our budget. We are more than happy with the results and would easily recommend Hochuli design & remodeling team to anyone who wants to take their project from builder grade to beautiful.
