George arrived on time and with C19 protective gear. Worked quietly & quickly to install my interior barn doors. He had to make a Home Depot run, but still completed the project in a reasonable amount of time.

If you need tile work done, this is the place to call! A big portion of my home's remodel project was tile flooring. I had fun picking out the tile for the first two rooms. But it quickly became overwhelming to try to keep a common theme going in all the rooms. I decided to call for help. As soon as Pattiann Jones stepped into my home, i knew I had made the right decision. Full of energy and ideas, Patti quickly put together a couple of designs for me to choose from. Her and her capable crew started immediately putting together my new floors. A few weeks later, I am now walking across beautiful new wood flooring, all thanks to An Affordable Hand. I would give Solarm City zero starts if I could. We got SCAMMED big time by this guy. We hired him through Task Rabbit. After estimating the job, he insisted he needed to take the job outside the ambit of Task Rabbit and charge us directly, through his own company. We didn't realize it at the time, but he did that in order to avoid any quality control/sanctions that might be available through Task Rabbit. He then started the job - which was to touch up baseboard paint - and proceeded to do a terrible job. Left the job half finished. When we asked him to return to finish up, he began threatening us. We thought ok, we'll just report him to the ROC. But Solarm City made it clear to us that the reason he broke up our payment into chunks less than $1000 each was because the ROC won't deal with any complaints less than $1000. He did that on purpose knowing it would prohibit us from being able to file a complaint. In the end, he made several threats against our safety, which was terrifying. I strongly advise you not to hire this scam artist. You will regret it.

Kurt did a great job fixing numerous jobs around our school. He fixed the ice maker in our fridge, painted our trash enclosure, replaced all the missing parts on our busy board, fixed one of our drinking fountains and a classroom door-stopper. Quality work all completed with a great attitude!

Lovely couple who do great work.

I hired the company to paint my living room, hallway and 1 other wall. I had the paint and primer. I just needed the labor. The bid was OK, not the cheapest I'd received, but in the middle range.

The painter was skilled. He worked efficiently. However, both my bathrooms and my kitchen had been painted previously by others with the same paint - same can/lot #. The walls had been primed first because the color to be covered was brown. This was true in the new areas to be painted as well. Brown walls were being covered. I showed the painter before he started that I had the paint and the primer. (I'd mentioned this originally when I'd gotten the bid and the man making the bid agreed with me about the primer.)

When he was finished, I thought the color wasn't right, but credited it to it not quite being dry. Not so. I expected the color to be the same as kitchen, etc., a creamy white. The color is beige. The difference being is that the painter didn't prime the walls first. Apparently my fault for not paying closer attention?

I complained to Seneca, the office liaison. She was apologetic and talked to the painter. He claims he put on 2 coats of paint. How does that work? I thought the painter would go around the areas twice. He only made one turn around all the areas. Regardless, because the walls weren't primed, the color isn't true. There's a fade in from the original brown.

Seneca told me she'd contact the owner. Maybe I haven't given him enough time, but I'm sick over a very costly mistake. At the very least he should apologize. I have to live with a color I dislike until I can afford to paint again. Plus I'll have to buy more paint adding further to the cost since he used up what I had as intended.
