Best New Lighting Fixtures in Denver CO
We had a very poor overall experience with Mighty Bee and I would not be able to recommend them based on this experience. I want to be fair to Mighty Bee that most of our issues came with what ended up being horrible customer service and follow up and not all work related. I was treated with defensiveness and outright contempt by Martin across multiple emails and phone calls after the service. I'm not overly sensitive, but I can't think of another experience where I was treated as the enemy simply by questioning the finished product which I was not happy with and had multiple code violations. We purchased an electrical panel upgrade for an older home we bought in Arvada that had a 1960s junction box. Things were fine in terms of initial quote and appointment set up. I got back from travel and the panel was upgraded and as he left the house he mentioned to me in passing he could upgrade my kitchen to GFI (which will be required for a house this old). But that was the last I heard from Might Bee. They admitted later that they flat out forgot to follow up not only with me to confirm everything went well but with the city for the required inspection. But that was only because I followed up a few weeks later after my GC informed me that most of what Mighty Bee completed would have to be redone and also that much of it was not to current code. I raised this with Mighty Bee and this is when things went south.
Again to be fair to Might Bee, a panel upgrade seems to be quite an arbitrary service based on what electrician you work with. I would highly recommend you do thorough research on not only what your home will need in total but what exactly is covered in the cost of a panel upgrade. Costs clearly vary based on inclusions. From my side of things and also 2 separate electricians (one who is simply my next door neighbor and had no financial skin in the game), Mighty Bee did the absolute minimum required in a box upgrade. The result was circuits were shared where they would normally (and now have been by another electrician) split so that half of the house didn't run on a double barred circuit. Things like running dryer lines separately are also required by current code, and by simply asking a few probing questions to the customer the electrician would should able to make recommendations about required upgrades, but genuinely upsell their own service. I got none of this from Might Bee. But when I questioned the work completed and cited advice from these other electricians, Martin at Mighty Bee reacted with anger and defensiveness, accusing the electricians of sabotaging his work, and calling them idiots and other accusations about trying to bad mouth him. Once again, one of the electricians was just a neighbor checking out our remodel. I didn't even ask him specifically, he took a look at the new box and brought up 5+ code violations and questions as to why Mighty Bee would have chosen to leave a new panel in that state given we were doing a full remodel and almost certainly would have a lot more electrical changes needed. As it turned out we did have to completely update the homes electrical set up. This meant that the work Mighty Bee completed has now been completely updated and we wasted $3,300 on the panel upgrade and had to deal with a complete jerk in Martin from Might Bee. To add insult to injury we told Mighty Bee we didn't want to have have them come back and requested a refund for the $370 to source a license (free and done online) and inspection, which he did over 3 weeks after the service, and only after I notified them. I requested a refund for that portion of the bill, to which he flatly refused with yet another contentious and rude email.
Once again, I want to say that inherently Mighty Bee's panel upgrade wasn't wrong. But again it was clearly the MINIMUM needed. Combine that with the responses we dealt with from Martin make it impossible for us to recommend Mighty bee.

They did a quality job at a very reasonable price.

We bought a house that needed a lot of work, so Chris and his crew were here for quite awhile. They replaced the panel, re-wired and grounded the entire house, changed every light fixture, installed smoke detectors, and added outlets where they needed to be up to code. Chris and Carlos did most of the work (and were fantastic), but everyone who came over did a great job. We had several contractors involved in this project, and Slade Energy was the ONLY one who didn't go way over the quoted price, ignore the schedule, or cause damage to other parts of the house. What I appreciated most was that Chris always kept me in the loop about the project. If they needed to re-schedule to wait for someone else to finish, he told me. If there was going to be an additional cost (usually because I added something), he told me. I've learned enough about contractors in the past few months to realize that's very rarely the case. When we were finally able to move and needed relatively minor electrical work done on our old home, I didn't even bother calling around for quotes. I didn't hesitate to hire Chris again and I would definitely recommend Slade Energy for any project, big or small.

Sonny has completed several projects for us in the past few weeks including plumbing and general carpentry. All of the projects were completed in a very timely and workmanlike manner. On top of that, his rates were very reasonable. We will be using Sonny for all of our repairs.

JM Electric recently came and installed a chandelier in our home. Sebastian and Daniel were on time, very professional and did a fantastic job! I would recommend to anyone needing a light fixure hung/replaced.

Working with Lance and his team made a stressful situation so much easier! Lance went above and beyond in all aspects of the planning and execution of the job. I was especially grateful for all of the phone calls and text messages to help me clarify the vision for the project and to provide updates in real time. Lance went the extra mile for us in a number of categories and I highly recommend him and his team to anyone looking for a reputable, trustworthy, and kind electrician!

Kory updated our basement lighting and we could not be more happy. He worked around our schedule, helped with determining the layout of the lighting and did a great job. He worked long hours getting the job done quickly and was very neat. We are so happy we went with Kory and now have a basement that everyone loves to be in. Lighting will transform a room into a place you will love. We would recommend Sphere Electric LLC for all your lighting needs.

Elijah designed, mapped out and installed the electrical components for our basement project and we couldn't be happier. Friendly, very knowledgeable, consulted us on all things important prior to implementation, showed up on time and left the site clean every day. Lujan Electric Services also has great pricing - you can stop your search

Chad was referred to me by a friend who hired him to do a bunch of work at her home. He did such a great job, that the net time I saw her, she said if you ever need an electrician, use this guy. I needed one then. So I Called Chad - he came out and walked in the door right on time. He gave me a thorough estimate as to what it would cost. We now have lights in our back yard, side yard, and he installed a new night light for us on our bedroom stairs. I will use him again as soon as I need any work done. He is excellent (and a really good guy). Joan Lucas

You don’t help your business much by putting your company name on your personal vehicle then pull out in front of people. I’ll do my own electric.

A little pricey, but the electricians are professional, on time, and knowledgeable (and that’s priceless). This is my second time using them to install new lighting fixtures and I will be using them again when the rest of my new lights come in.

Had lots of problems with this company using our trade name. Have their bad reviews posted on our site. Had problems with the state due to them using our identity. Chris Spence Mile Hi Electric since 1995.

Thanks to Austin and Cam for their efforts on adding a new 20 amp circuit and getting a garage heater and fan installed on 01/07/2021. With the existing drywall and insulation in place, this job was not easy. They did am awesome job getting everything in fit in where requested. And they tolerated my husband! Thanks again.

We've had Armand from JM Electric to our house several times now, and every single time, he has gone the extra mile. Most recently, he was here to put can lights in our master bedroom. The lights are amazing and well done. But, not only did he do the lights, he shoveled our walkway because I hadn't gotten a chance to do it yet. I appreciate that JM Electric strives for excellence in all areas.

Zach came over for an electrical issue with my swamp cooler. He was able to figure out the problem that 3 different HVAC companies hadn't been able to! He was responsive, timely and very reasonably priced! Highly recommend!

Chris is the most disrespectful person I’ve ever hired and/or worked with. His father is amazing but unfortunately Chris owns the business and treats clients like dirt. Condescending, rude, offensive- all applicable and undeniable even by his crew granted when he’s not around. I wish I had delayed my residence project to find someone else that would have provided more value and behaved like someone that’s in the industry he’s in: client service!
