If there is one contractor in the state of Az that I trust, it would be Ben Shoval. After dealing with Az slimy contractors, Ben presented himself very honestly. If I had an issue, he took care of it. He took our feedback with grace, and dignified it with a positive result. He also hired 2 very nice steady subcontractors that did an amazing job. We will use him again for future business.

I conducted my business by phone and email. My many questions were answered to my satisfaction and samples requested arrived quickly.

Adam was great to work with! We had all the cabinets doors in our home refinished and painted, all countertops in the house upgraded with quartz, and marble backsplash added in the kitchen. The work was impeccable. He answered all questions and concerns we had with no issues. We have already hired his company for another project!

While many repairs and upgrades are still needed, we're confident that Ron's expertise will resolve our issues in a timely and professional manner -- working with Ron and Handyman Connections' craftsmen has eliminated a lot of stress that we've experienced with other companies. Ron is licensed and bonded in just about everything that we could need, so we're very confident in both his knowledge and his demonstrated skills. One final note is that Handyman Connection is very conscientious about sending out only experienced people as we noticed early-on before we became acquainted with Ron; even so, he's the best as far we're concerned. To be fair, the team at Design Lab did get our vision for the kitchen and bath remodel we planned, and their designs did, eventually, work out. HOWEVER, we’d suggest, should you opt for their services, to be very clear about what services they plan to provide and to be certain that they are doing what they promised correctly. In our experience:

1. Design Lab represented themselves as the lead team for our remodel. Without telling us, after we hired the contractor they introduced us to, they signed a contract with the contractor and Design Lab became a subcontractor. This created confusion for all parties throughout the project.
2. We kept the same footprint in the kitchen. Despite this, Design Lab did not measure the existing cabinets correctly. The cabinets they ordered for one wall would not have fit. Fortunately, the contractor identified that issue, but it led to a 2-week delay.
3. There was a gap from design to construction, which was our choice. By the time the project started, the kitchen cabinets we had selected were no longer available. Rather than telling us, Design Lab simply ordered different cabinets they thought we’d like. We didn’t like their choice. This led to a 4+-month delay, during which we had no kitchen.
4. Design Lab often did not order sufficient quantities of materials (like tile, cabinet filler, crown molding, kitchen cabinet knobs). In the deal they made with the contractor, Design Lab apparently maintained control over ordering materials and supplies. This added time and frustration, because projects could not be completed in one visit from the trades brought in by the contractor. All these issues led to completely using the contingency piece of the project budget, even though there was only 1 change order ever made.
5. Design Lab incorrectly ordered the backsplash tile, when they made up for the shortage of the first order. We had 2 different style tiles waiting to be installed, but fortunately this was spotted by the contractor before the tile was to be installed. Design Lab also ordered kitchen knobs that were different from what was in the specs.

All of this made a project the contractor estimated would take 6 weeks ultimately take 8 months!

This is THE company I would recommend for all of your renovation needs. Quentin is efficient, detail oriented, friendly and affordable...like REALLY affordable. I can tell that he puts a lot of thought into his quote to make sure you get the best deal possible. He works with you if you want to get your own materials so you can keep it in budget as well.

On this job, our guest bathroom, we knew we wanted Quentin to help us with it. Here's a rundown of everything they did...

1. Moved toilet to a different wall
2. Replace plumbing and put it in the wall to provide more space
3. Install floor tile
4. Install bathtub w/ subway tile surround w/ niche
