I woke up to a flooded lawn and called these guys. They found a leak in my main water line and fixed it in a couple of hours. Nice people, I would use them again.

Old Towne Plumbing is a scammy company. I have a tenant who believed she had mold in her unit, so she called this company. Carl Shields came out and told her it was bad. I spoke to him and he told me it was bad and would need all sorts of expensive work. To prove it, he told me would come back to the unit with a camera and take pictures of the insides of the walls. He said he would hire a 3rd party company to take samples and do testing. Shields quoted me at $800 for the testing and told me that everything else would be part of a free estimate.

Everything about him seemed fishy, but I was very busy with other work at the time and my tenant was so convinced she was getting sick due to mold. I told Shields to send me a work contract before doing any testing. He never sent the work contract nor did I sign anything; he scheduled with the tenant and came in there to do the testing anyway and tried to bill me for $1,210.

When I objected to the extra $410 in extraneous charges, instead of addressing them, Shields started to accuse me of being an absentee landlord.

I don’t know how many plumbing companies out there make their work on predatory practices like this, but this is the first time I’ve ever come across it. Steer clear of this company!

I had a toilet leak that was flooding my neighbors ceiling. I was out of town unable to go see the damage. Picked this company based on the reviews. I was scheduled with Luis. Before any inspection he tells me in order to see where the leak is coming from we need to remove the ceiling downstairs - but first we need to test for asbestos. I had to schedule for asbestos test and it came positive. The. Hired a company to remove the asbestos ceiling. I spent $2k before they can even identify the leak. Red flags everywhere. Luis comes back and tells me he used his camera and found the leak is from the toilet flange. Quotes me $3700 to replace it! Says if i dont go with their company i owe them $400 for finding the issue! (I thought they said free estimate- dont fall for that). Well, it was Sunday and my neighbors ceiling was open, i wanted to get the issue fixed asap so that everyone can use their bathroom. I asked Luis if he can reduce the price because it was so much money - right away he came down to $3200 and said they will deduct the $400 for inspection (they never did). The work was done in less than 3 hours according to my neighbors who sent me updates. I paid the invoice without realizing the $400 initial fee for finding the leak was not deducted. I called and asked for a detailed invoice. The invoice i was sent was far from detailed and I was never refunded that fee. I spoke to Tony who tried to defend the $3200 charge to change a toilet flange. Please be aware. I would recommend to look for a honest plumbers. I definitely feel robbed by this company. They took an advantage of my situation when i need someone i could trust. Costly lesson for me.

We had a new Rheem water heater installed 6 months ago and now the unit’s pilot light will not stay not on. Rheem warranty service sent out Drain Rite Plumbing. Michael from Drain Rite promptly replaced the component indicated by the diagnostic readings from the water heater. This unfortunately did not resolve the problem. Michael then began troubleshooting the issue and quickly found the real problem and had it resolved in record time. Michael had everything he needed with him in the truck to handle all possible scenarios. He was professional and is very knowledgeable in his profession. He represents Drain Rite Plumbing and himself in an exemplary manner. Thanks for a job well done!

Great service ,honest company

I was going to Do it myself, but because the hot water tank was on a shelf, my wife convinced me to hire someone. Boy did we luck out! Not only was their price the best we found, but watching Octavio work impressed me totally. Could have simply replaced the unit, instead, he removed the old intake and return and replaced with new without an extra charge. Everything was very neat and left totally cleaned. OIL Plumbing truly does care about their customers!
