Best Repair Jobs in Chicago IL
If you don't care about value or integrity, go ahead and call these guys.
They charge $89.95 just to come out, and check multiple times that you understand that you have to pay them at the time they come to your house. I asked if the charge was applicable against repair costs, and they said yes. I agreed, and asked what the hourly rate was...they said they didn't have one, and would quote a price fr the repair in total once they looked at it. I should have seen this as a red flag, but agreed anyway.
I asked them to come out to connect my dishwasher discharge hose to an EXISTING p-trap, and plug the connection on the disposal where the appliance store incorrectly connected the hose. Since the p-trap was disconnected (and left open), it had dried up and sewer gas was coming back under the sink. The repairman recommended a smoke check of the plumbing vents for $1100 to locate where the smell was coming from. I told him this wasn't necessary, and all that we needed was to have the lines reconnected under the sink (30-60 minutes of work, max). He then said, yeah, that's probably right and quoted me $395 PLUS the $89.95 dispatch fee. When I questioned the amount and asked for an hourly rate, he just said we are union and asked me what I thought it should cost.
I support union labor, and am fine paying fair rates, but I am unwilling to pay $485 for what amounts to an hour's work. I left work early, picked up the parts and fixed it myself in under an hour. I would not trust these guys with anyone I cared about, especially if they are susceptible to buying into the need for useless up-sells like smoke checks...$1100, sheesh.

Matt is a great guy with an awesome team. I've been managing a building for the last three years and give them a call whenever a plumbing issue pops up. It seems like it is always a ASAP situation and they always work to fit me into the schedule. Matt and his team have always been friendly and professional. The one time there was an issue with their work he immediately came back and fixed the issue at no extra charge. I know I'll be using them in the future.

Thank you so much for your outstanding service and quick response. Micheal came out and finished the job in no time; he even pointed out a few issues with my water line that the City will need to address.
