I called to schedule an appointment in the northwest suburbs and was able to make one the following day during evening hours with no problem. My technician, Denis, was wonderful to work with. He was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. He was able to fix my problem and provide suggestions on how to maintain it as well as for what to look for in the future to make sure serious costly problems do not arise. I would definitely use their services again and would absolutely request Denis!

The pilot light on my water heater went out and when trying to relight it, it would not stay lit. The technician was friendly and arrived about an hour after I called. He took a quick look at my water heater and said that the issue was with the gas line for the unit and that the whole unit would need to be replaced. He said that they don't do repairs just unit replacement. That really confused me as, according to their website:

We Provide the Following Water Heater Repairs: Thermocouple, Gas controls, Relights, Relief valves, Pilot assemblies, We Do It All!

The unit was 9 years old so it was hitting the replacement time anyways. We also discussed the federal efficiency requirements changes for 2015 and how the newer units are considerably larger. This would have presented a problem for my condo's small utility closet, but thankfully I would be able to still get a new unit manufactured before the new efficiency laws.

The quote for the replacement was $1350. Later in the day I got a second quote from Chicago Heating Repair that came in $400 cheaper at $950. Moral of the story: always get at least two quotes.

Dominick was amazing. So helpful, so quick to respond to our call, and very knowledgable. He came out to fix a leak in our faucet, one with which we had multiple problems before. Turns out none of the other plumbers could figure out that it was the entire faucet/hose that was the problem and it was sprouting leaks from everywhere!

I felt like he really helped me understand the issue at hand and the possible solutions and wasn't trying to talk me into something. Would highly recommend!

Had an outside drain that was clogged and would spill into the house because of it. They came out and were very upfront about what they would need to do and what the potential problem was. I paid $95 to John to diagnosis my sewer gas smell in my house which can be hazardous. He did not provide a diagnosis for what my issue was, mainly gave me a bunch of “maybe it’s this” or “maybe it’s this” or your house is just old and your going to have to replace the whole main pipe through the house resolve the issue. This was all in a span of 15 min and I gave $95 for this service call, so basically was left with more questions than answers. I even started to question my career choice, and thought about going into plumbing business and tell 9 out of 10 people what he said and make a quick $95 in 15 min. On the contrary, with Kennedy Plumbing located in Alsip, they were able to come in and find out what was going on and why I was getting the smell. They found out it was the P trap in the ground and gave a few options and how I can contain the smell until I’m ready to do the repair. Again, I highly recommend Kennedy plumbing!
