York control board for heat/AC installation. My old control board burned out. So, I called the Fixture Specialists and got an appointment immediately. The receptionist, Kitty, was super friendly and extremely helpful. She quoted me a fair price over the phone and texted me an appt reminder. Mike and Chris arrived on time. Mike was knowledgeable, proficient, and fast, took pride in his work. He completed the installation and operational test within 20 minutes. My husband isn't an easy man to be impressed by anything or anyone and Mike impressed him with the quality and pride in his work.
So, stop overpaying for your HVAC repairs and give the Fixture Specialists a try. I would most definitely use their service again. Highest recommendation.

M&S came and installed a home surge protector as well as updating my home electrical grounding. The tech that came, Haywood Sorey was incredibly professional and answered any question I had. Going out of his way to leave me more educated than I was before he started. I feel my home is safer today than before. Highly recommend

I called last Friday to have a service technician come to my house and relay to me that the motor in my handler had burned out. With an expecting wife, in sweltering 90 degree heat, AC is a priority in my home. Despite that fact, the lack of urgency by russel's HVAC has badly effected my wife and family. The service tech is supposed to come today, Tuesday (four days later) and replace the motor. This company does not live up to the expectations listed on their website and is more concerned about there bottom line - and the horse and pony show on their website.

My review is based on my experience with their Newport News location (since that locations doesn't allow for google reviews).
I recommend NOT calling Smith & Keene for your after hour HVAC needs. This morning Mr Larry Rush of Smith & Keene explained, or attempted to explain, how $303 for an after hour (Saturday) freon recharge (1lbs R22) was a fair and competitive price. We paid Smith & Keene $149 for the after hrs service call and $154 for the R22 freon recharge. Mr Larry ended the call abruptly (rudely) after he ran out of explanations. I called a few competitors for estimates on the same service. You live and you learn. Here's what I learned:
For the same after hrs service:
Wright's AC (Wolftrap): $88 (after hrs) + $50 (R22) = $138
Dan's AC (near Jefferson/Eustis Blvd): $95 (after hrs) + $50 (R22) = $145
RS Andrews: $89 + $144 ($79 for 2nd lbs) = $233

He showed up and immediately went into let's jack up the price mode!.. was going to spend 10 minutes in his van to right up an estimate to install a light fixture! I called the office and told them to tell him to leave!!! Add: I wasn't given a price to be upset with!. I was told someone would be out to INSTALL a light fixture! Not give an estimate! The light fixture was already removed!!! They were going to have to do a diagnostic testing to see if the line was live.. You turn on the light switch and test with a current probe. 2 Seconds. The whole interaction was terrible. Stop trying to rewrite history.

Buds was very prompt and professional. From the no pressure sales tactics, to the very knowledgeable salesman Steven M. They gave us options on replacement units and provided us the necessary time to ask all questions either that day or over the next few days. Once we made the decision to go with them they put us in the schedule and a week later they showed up at their scheduled time exactly. They didn’t have other calls to go to before or after us they were designated that day for our new HVAC install. They cleaned everything up after they finished and conducted a brief training and walk through of the system! They then promptly the very next day sent us the confirmation of the product warranty registration. I truly believe in a world that is only trying to get the most amount of money for the least amount of work. Buds remembers what’s most important and that’s their customers! I highly recommend Buds as we have tried Michael and sons and A1 with disappointment abounding. When other companies don’t appreciate your business Buds will.
