I want to give recognition to Scott and Bradley who came out to address an ongoing plumbing issue I have been experiencing for months at my condo. The communication was great from the beginning and once we discussed my concerns they explained how they were going to address the problem and they updated me throughout the process to let me know what they were finding and what the next steps they were going to take. They were both VERY respectful, patient with my questions, showed empathy for my frustrations and ultimately resolved the issue. I appreciate the excellent customer service that they provided and will call on Atomic again if the need arises.

We called A1 because of the great reputation they had. The first plumber who came out was really nice and respectful and we liked him but he had trouble with the replacement of our garbage disposal. What should have only taken an hour took about 3 hours. However, with guidance from his Supervisor by phone, he was able to finish the installation and we were not charged for the extra 2 hours.Fast forward a few hours later, we tried to wash our dishes using our dishwasher and learned that our dishwasher was not using any water. Because of this, one of the plastic utensils in the dishwasher that fell inside was burned by the heating element of the dishwasher and caused smelly burnt plastic smoke to fill the entire first floor of our home. Our A1 plumber had forgotten to turn the water back on for the dishwasher. My 77-year old father had to crawl under the sink and had to turn the water back on himself. God bless him. He had a difficult time doing this but he got it done.We ran the dishwasher again but then learned that it was not draining. Dirty, stinky dishwater stayed in the bottom of that dishwasher for a couple of days until A1 Plumbing could come back to see what the problems were. I knew right away that the garbage disposal plug was probably not removed by the plumber. There was also leaking coming from a pipe attached to the garbage disposal.We called A1 back to let them know what happened and they scheduled a more experienced plumber to come out and essentially re-do everything the first plumber did. A1 stands behind their warranty which is the first reason why I am giving them 5 stars. Our plumber Pat, the one who fixed everything, did an outstanding job. He is the 2nd reason we are giving A1 5 stars. Pat was very efficient, knowledgeable, respectful and prepared. He is someone we will request should we need any more plumbing projects completed in our home. We highly recommend A1 Sewer & Drain Plumbing because our initial experience could have turned us into disappointed customers but instead we were won over by the amazing customer service we received. We also appreciated the pricing of your service because it is a fair price and quite competitive in this market as I received quotes from 2 other companies prior to choosing A1. Thank you for that. We have used Blessings Plumbing in Virginia Beach several times in the past 5 years or so.
First time was a foundation shift under our home resulted in broken / bent sewer lines needing to be repositioned and strengthened. Also had to rebuild the adjacent toilet flange arrangement, due to that foundation shift. It has worked perfectly since then.
Then, we moved our (tank) water heater from the kitchen to a tankless water heater in the attic. HVAC guys had run too light of a gas line when they moved the furnace to the attic. The Blessings plumber immediately recognized that problem and corrected the line to the proper diameter to allow for the greater flow need for both those appliances in the attic. Their installation was very neat and clean. I love having an endless hot water shower!
Most recently, my parent's condo had a toilet backup multiple times over the course of a few months. Each time I called them, they were there as quickly as needed. Even on a FRIDAY NIGHT! My father is in in-home hospice right now, and having his toilet functional is critical to him being able to stay out of hospitals or nursing homes. It was unusual for a toilet to clog these few times in such a short period. The first time, I was able to clear it myself. The next two time required their professional touch. Each time they had to remove the toilet from the floor to snake the drain, they reinstalled and cleaned up after the work completed; it looked as if they hadn't even been there. The problem was eventually traced to the sewer line beyond their building, with at least 3 separate breaks / shifts in that line, which was catching the stuff being flushed and causing a back up. They had the right equipment. A 100 foot plus drain snake, and a 100 foot plus camera to find and mark the trouble spots on the surface. When the utilities were dug up, their marks on the surface were directly over the sewer line faults, that were at least 4 FEET BELOW the ground!
Could you find a plumber for a cheaper price? Yes. Would you have the confidence in knowing it is fixed correctly? Probably not. Each service call with Blessings Plumbing has absolutely been worth the price. They are professional. They know what they are doing. AND, they do it right.
I am impressed with Craig Blessing and all his crews that have taken care of me and my family over the years. (They are who I call to take care of my own parents.) I recommend them every time one of my friends ask about plumbers.

I called Rob to come out in the Winter of 2011 to convert some old washer/drier connections to the new standard. He told me the job would only take a few hours and it'd be done. Three hours later he was finished without ever having to go under the house. He hands me the bill and it's a whopping $2000. I was taken aback by how he figured he could charge this much. This was partly my fault for not receiving a quote beforehand but his predatory billing scheme is a sign of the kind of business he runs. I kept the refrigerator magnet he gave so that I could recommend my friends and family not use him.
