I decided to try to hire a plumber for my rentals. I found this one and thought I would support a local small business. The first job was in Tampa and the tech called me before doing the work to quote me a price. I thought it was fair, so I approved the work.
The second and LAST job was a broken toilet lever in Zephyrhills. The service charge was higher for the area, which I can accept. The tech called to say he was on the way. I asked him to call with a quote before doing the work. However, no call. Got the bill a couple of days later, $254. $79 for the service call, and $175 for the toilet lever and labor.
I am all for a business making a profit, but changing a toilet lever is the simplest plumbing job there is. I called and had a discussion with the owner. He was polite and offered me $30 off of the bill. I told him I was planning to give him all of my business, but it concerned me that a $10 part was marked up so much.
He explained that it cost him $100 per hour per man to break even. Being a business owner myself, I know better.
I was looking for a fair dependable local company to take care of 11 properties in the area. I am still looking. Don't waste your time or money on this company!

Hurricane week! Water softener sprung a leak and because of the leak, all water had to be turned off. I have a 6 year old so that is a no go. I called the installation company and the company couldn’t come out to fix, call Alvarez plumbing and they fixed my issue in no time. Jared is an great employee and i couldn’t be happier with the results.

David & Bob showed up on time to give me an estimate and I was super impressed with their professionalism and manner. Quoted me on a job another Company had already quoted and I could tell that they were there to do it correctly and with pride. Finished quickly and perfectly. - Plumber contacted by me and set up appointment with tenant to service leaking toilet valve. Following day completed service as scheduled, with tenant reporting professionalism and promptness with plumber paid same day for work completed.

- Tenant reports that valve set too low and float not adjustable far enough to completely flush toilet.

- Plumber contacted 2 times to fix work, first time no showed on tenant. 2nd time ghosted tenant and stopped answering phone.

- Had to facetime with tenant and instruct them on how to uninstall, adjust valve to correct height, reinstall valve, and adjust float. This would have taken a plumber like 5 minutes.
