My organization received a notice of defect from the Philadelphia Water Department. We knew we needed to contact a licensed plumber, so I went through PWD's directory and started looking at reviews. Roger Ross was definitely one of the highest regarded, thus I called and was able to have someone come out quickly to help us understand the issue, diagnose the problem, fix the clog, and provide an invoice we can send to PWD to prove that the issue has been resolved. We will definitely use them again in the future!

When I noticed a leak weeks later I asked for them to come back and check it out, they did so a day later with no issue and identified the problem; the messy work of a previous plumber (unrelated to RR). There are only about 4 or 5 long time muti-generational plumbing contractors in the Roxborough Manayunk area - I called one of them to repair a shut-off valve leak in a valve BEFORE the water meter - that means the water needs to be shut off from the curb to repair the valve - the plumber I called (one of the more well-known Manayunk guys) came out and reported back that the curb shutoff valve is inoperable and I would need to have the sidewalk excavated to replace the valve - about a $5000 - $8000 job - not to mention having to wait 3-6 weeks to get permits and schedule such a big job - I started calling for estimates for the big job (since my plumber was not set up to for the expensive excavating job) - the 1st contractor I called for an estimate to dig up the sidewalk was Roger Ross Plumbing - I explained the situation to the receptionist (Natasha I think) - super friendly and convinced me to let their people come to check the curb valve again before thinking about digging - she gave me an appointment for the very next day - Dan and Shawn came out the next day as scheduled (on time) and were successful in shutting off the curb valve that the previous contractor said needed to be replaced. Why wasn't the previous very experienced plumber able to shut off the curb valve? We'll never know. With no exaggeration Roger Ross Plumbing and his guys saved me many thousands of dollars and probably a month of restless sleep. I wish I knew of these guys 20 years ago!

We've had a leak in an upstairs bathroom. The leak shortly after we returned from an out of town trip for Christmas. The boiler had gone out and the house had gotten down to 40 degrees. Apparently the freezing of the waterline created a crack in the toilet resulting in the drip leak.The servicemén werw able to turn the water to the toilet off, discuss alternatives for the repair and provided cost estimates.

Dan called me back much quicker than I expected and came immediately. He and his partner Dan were professional and put me at ease right away. The problem was bigger than expected and they stayed late and didn’t leave until they had a solution. Several months ago my wife and I purchased a sizable project. We knew there would be a lot to fix in a 100+ year old home, but despite the dozens of inspection reports, we still somehow underestimated the plumbing risks. The plumbing issues started, I think the first day we bought the house… Roger Ross Plumbing is right around the corner so we decided to go with a neighbor - plus the reviews were excellent. Over the course of 2 months we probably had 6-8 unrelated pluming issues. I’m guessing around 20-25 hours of work in total. Dan Vieldhouse was the primary technician here the most, and we couldn’t be happier with his level of service and communication. He routinely went above and beyond to ensure the job was done right - that meant late nights, early mornings, searching for rare parts, carefully explaining the root cause of issues, etc. He had no fear of the old toilets and pipes. We had had a few other plumbers quote some things before going with Roger Ross, and I remember it being obvious they were nervous. I feel like they gave us lazy quotes and insisted “everything had to be replaced.” Dan knew his way around the old stuff, and I’m confident he saved us thousands by fixing what we had. The home is old but stately, and we wanted to preserve as much of the character as possible. I’ve been a homeowner for 8 years now and I can’t say I’ve ever felt good after a plumber left - until recently. I don’t have a ton of context because many of the issues were new to me as a homeowner, but my sense is that the fees and material costs were reasonable and fair. I’d highly recommend Roger Ross Plumbing, and ask for Dan.

We needed a toilet replaced because ours was using too much water per flush which made our water bill double the average household bill. Dan V. and Nick came out and were very friendly and agreed that the guzzler had to go. We talked about options and they educated us on what was best and why. Had Dan from Roger Ross come out to do a simple shower cartridge replacement and during the install my 5 year old managed to get ahold of a critical screw and chucked it under the tub and down the wall, essentially gone. Came out for a service estimate and these guys were knowledgeable, caught issues that my inspector didn’t catch, and broke down what need to be done and were down to earth about the prices and time needed for completion. They work with houses in manayunk frequently so they are familiar with the plumbing in the older houses. I can’t be more thankful for these guys! During their estimate I had a large furniture delivery and they even helped me move it (which they didn’t have to do and I’m so thankful for!) In attempting to replace our hose, we broke off a piece of our outdoor pipe on a Sunday evening of a holiday weekend and had to shut off our water to prevent it from spewing out everywhere. Moved into a new place recently and had a few plumbing problems I had to get addressed. They were good about contacting me pretty promptly after getting in touch, setting an appointment up, and following up afterward on the issue to make sure they were taken care of.Had to get a toilet replacement due to a faulty toilet that was at the house, and they did great at the new installation, and following cleanup and removal of the old toilet.Prices also seemed very fair for the work that was done, and the people they had out were very professional and good to talk to. I contacted Roger Ross Plumbing to fix the tub spout in my bathroom, which was leaking behind the wall. Scheduling was easy and the people on the phone are very nice. The plumbers showed up a bit before the scheduled time and were finished with the job in about a half hour, they attached a threaded fitting to the pipe and re-installed the tub spout. It’s working now with no leaks, I would recommend Roger Ross if you need any plumbing work done.

I cannot say enough about the service we received on two separate occasions. Once, for an outside line that connected to our hose that was leaking. The other was just yesterday connecting a copper pipe to a new refrigerator. Both experiences were great! The issue yesterday ended up being more complex than just a hook up. Employees went above and beyond to check the lines in the basement. A valve ended being an issues so they left, got the piece needed and returned within 20minutes to complete the job. I would not recommend this plumbing company. We put new tile down so we needed to take off the toilet and have a plumber re-install it. After the plumber from Roger Ross reinstalled it we noticed the ceiling below the toilet was a yellow-orange color. We knew that they caused the leak and did not install toilet correctly. I called them back and they said we needed to get knew pipes installed. There was no leak before so I knew they caused the issue. I had another plumber come for a second opinion and he was able to fix the issue. He had to put a second wax ring down to secure the flange. Roger Ross plumbing clearly did not see their was an opening and water was leaking. Because of them I had to open up my ceiling and now need to repair it. They 100% caused the issue and did not even feel bad about it.

VERY professional. Smart guys who you like to have a beer with ! Found the problem in minutes, fixed it and ended a very cold 4 day period. I own three apartments and will use their service from now on. I ended a 30 year relationship with a local East Falls plumber who really overcharged me on the last two bills. Then was angry that I asked him to give me an assessment of what the costs would be. They send a one page one line bill by mail. This company streamlines the process online. I did not need to replace anything as my old plumber stated, he just didn't want to do it. Said he needed to order the part, left me in the cold , literally for 4 days, and RRP fixed it and honestly told me it was old but did not need replacing. Honesty counts. Their trucks are stocked. I am requesting them back to fix a toilet also broken by the former plumber who just didn't care to do it right. Toilets are not complicated.

After striking out with two other plumbers, I was referred to Roger Ross Plumbing by a friend. Roger came out to give me an estimate on a Friday and was able to schedule the work for me on Tuesday, only a few days later. He addressed a variety of issues in a second floor bath, including replacing the drain line, installing a new vanity and faucet (which required moving the water lines to accommodate a larger vanity), and reinstalling an existing toilet (which required a new flange). Bob and Tyler were very knowledgeable and did excellent work. They even volunteered to install the hardware on the vanity for me. Roger stopped by midday to check on the progress. I am so happy to have this bathroom that's been a problem for several months fixed in less than a day. The price was very fair for all the work completed. Thank you!

They turned off the water and because I have another heater they came back the next day and put in a new one. While here they changed out my thermostat and checked my heater, I didn't need to set a different time.Dan, who works for Roger, was very polite and respectful he was also very informative. My father in-law was experiencing a leak in his ceiling so I called Roger Ross Plumbing to come open up the ceiling to see if they could find what was causing it. I spoke with Natasha who was incredibly friendly and helpful in getting the appointment set up (If you call ask for her, she honestly made this entire experience so much easier). PJ came to the house and opened up plaster and lath ceiling (Not a clean or easy task) and ran the upstairs water for a leak but after an hour we realized that no of the pipes were leaking. There was a lot of corrosion and bad plumbing work from previous contractors band-aid projects so we decided to keep the ceiling open for a week or so and see if the leak returns and then we can go from there. PJ spent the time explaining options and recommending what he believes would be the correct next step if a leak returns. These guys are great and I will use them for my home plumbing needs also! I've been working with Roger and his team for more than 15 years now on a wide range of plumbing needs:- fixture install for a basement remodel (claw foot tub, couple sinks, toilet with mascerating unit, washer/dryer, tankless hot water heater)- replacement of the basement mascerating unit 14 years later- fixture install for bathroom/kitchen remodel (toilet, sinks, instant hot, disposal, dishwasher, etc)- toilet installs- shower fixture installs- I'm sure there are others, above is off top of my headMy most recent experience was with a p-trap replacement for our shower. The tricky part with this: it hangs below our condo just under the ceiling of the garage which is 15 ft high. A scissor lift was supposed to arrive by 10AM, with Roger's crew likely done by noon - but the lift didn't actually arrive until 3:30PM! Roger was able to work around the schedule issues and everything was still completed by the end of the day. As with all the other jobs he has done for me going back 15 years now, he and his crews are professional, courteous, friendly, skilled and efficient; I highly recommend them.

I called Roger Ross plumbing after not getting clarity from a different plumber and an HVAC company about an issue. The discoloration on my ceiling was a mystery and I was getting the run around. I felt a sense of relief after reading Roger Ross’s reviews online, so I gave them a call and then texted them pictures. Rodger himself got back to me so promptly, asked if this was an emergency (it was not), and he still gave me an appointment for first thing Monday morning (I called them on Friday).Tyler arrived within the timeframe they promised, he brought a ladder as requested, and went up to the attic to diagnose the issue. He came back down in less than 10 minutes with pictures, a video, and told me exactly what I need to do. It turns out my issue is a minor roofing repair, and it’s not something Rodger Ross’s company can fix, but this clear information and knowledge of the problem was worth their service fee.I will definitely use Roger Ross plumbing in the future.
