My experience with rotor rooter was amazing my technician name was Thea and he was very professional and explained everything he was doing when unclogging my sewer line…he was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what he was doing… I wish there could be more guys like him.. I pray I don’t have any more issues but if I ever do I hope Thea be the one to get the job, I felt at ease with him doing the work… great guy very professional… thank you so much Thea you saved my day

I was pleased with the service I received. I explained exactly what I wanted. My questions were answered and the work was done quickly. I guess it’s a good value. The plumber showed up and I’m happy. :-)

We called Roto Rooter in a panic when our basement flooded, and they scammed us. Removal of items from the basement was estimated to cost 5-9k, and they assured us it was almost impossible it would be more than 6, however they charged our insurance more than 10k, and explicitly told us they expected to be negotiated down. When insurance reached out to talk them down, they ignored all of the calls for over a month, because they as scammers and not actual meaningful business people. The person we dealt with was named Dennis, and after ensuring me he would be my point man for everything we needed, he ghosted me and refused to ever speak to me again on the phone. Literally any other business is better than working with these clowns.

This company and employee Dennis are absolute scam artists. We called Roto after a basement flood from a sewer overflow, and they assured us that they would work with insurance to get us the best deal possible and make sure that we were covered by our policy. From the beginning, they took advantage of the fact that we did not know how to work with insurance and were afraid that our damage wouldn't be covered. They used fear mongering to make us believe that if we said the wrong thing, we would lose our coverage. For that reason, we didn't end up shopping around (a huge mistake) and trusted that they had our best interest in mind.After receiving a quote for $5-10k from Roto for basement cleanup, I mentioned to Dennis that $10k seemed absolutely ridiculous for this task. He assured me that the only way we see close to $10k in charges was if there was another issue discovered like mold. However, when insurance was billed, they received a bill for $10,300. They ended up charging $900/pp per hour for their work, which was pretty subpar (and for reference, our basement is only about 150 sq ft). They even left their personal garbage in our basement. Our coverage for sewer backup is only $15k, so after insurance paid us for the cost of redoing our basement, there is literally no money remaining to be reimbursed for damaged items in our basement or the $500 we paid Roto to come out 3x after they did not fix the issue the first time (they sent a camera tech instead of a plumber- magically when they sent a plumber on time 3 and he was able to snake the line, no more issues!). Dennis made so many empty promises, including somehow getting us $500-1000 off our deductible, which we recognized as BS from the beginning. We are so incredibly disappointed in this company for being so money hungry and stealing our insurance money. Even our insurance company told us that they absolutely do not recommend Roto to customers (we wish we had known). In a time of desperation to save our basement, Roto took full advantage of us.

We had a leak coming from the kitchen sink trap. I called Roto Rooter and they responded expeditiously. The Service Technician was on time, polite and very professional. He completed the job, explained to my wife and I what the issue was, fixed it and cleaned up afterwards. Thank you and if ever needed we will use Roto Rooter again.

Thea was on time and professional. The problem I thought I had with the pipe in my basement was not the issue. He figured out why water was coming from my basement pipe in no time and he showed why water was coming from there. I give Thea 5 stars because his professionalism and he was reasonable. He took care of the problem and made sure it was fixed before he left.

The representative was professional, asked a lot of questions, sensitive to my needs as a customer, continuously ask me was I satisfied with the repairs. Excellent service, will recommend to all! Keep up the good customer relations!

John was awesome. Super professional, personable, and quick. Diagnosed and fixed the problem inside of 15 minutes. Gave us plenty of insight on what was wrong and what to expect in the future.

Water heater busted,Roto Rooter came out and cleaned up the major water damage and took up the water damaged carpet and cleaned and dried out the surrounding damages as well. Came out the next day and installed a new bigger water heater. Will be paid for through my mortgage insurance. Did a great job of helping me out given my financial situation

After completing the job, the worker grabbed my credit card and held it behind his back, refusing to give it back until I gave him a 5-star review in front of him. Then Roto Rooter deleted my review and sent me some useless form letter pretending they were looking into the incident.

They had me write them emails and then called me to say we wish you wouldn't leave a not-good review. Well, I wish you didn't charge $500/drain then tell me that's just the way it is. PLEASE-AVOID THIS COMPANY. Learn from my mistakesThe guy was nice and came on time… but how on earth is the industry standard $500 per drain? My upstairs sink and tub were draining slowly. That costs a thousand to repair? They throw in some bells and whistles for discounts but $880 is robbery. I want an investigative journalist to uncover how many Ferraris the owner of Roto router has in his garage. Will not use them again

Fast service, great plumber! The plumber James put a stop my running toilet and leaking tub faucet. These issues caused me to have a large water bill every month. It took him less than 20 minutes to find the problemand less than 3 hours to fix. I would recommend everyone use Roto-Rooter for any plumbing needs. Low prices are always a plus!!

I had a leak in my bathtub and water ran constantly. Roy came in and greeted us warmly, was professional, and knew what to do. He completed the job, in a timely manner.

Techs are arrogant and poorly trained. After $1500 and multiple visits, I still have a kitchen sink and garbage disposal that do not work. Save yourself some sweat and call a proper plumber.

Couldn’t understand how quick and efficient this process was. Booked an appointment online at 11:45pm for 12-2 pm the next day. Got a text confirming the appointment at 1115 and that hartzell was coming in 45 minutes. Sure enough, an hour later Hartzell shows up. He was super friendly and helpful, didn’t seem to BS me about my issue, fixed it and was on his way by 1:30. They are a well oiled machine would definitely use them again if need be

I called as an emergency problem with our toilet for work. They said they could come out in a 2 hour window. This was awesome since I called another place and they told me 10-12 days on a wait list. We obviously can't wait that long with 30 employees. Joe came out with his helper and they were so professional and Joe was so knowledgeable. They figured out the problem and got us up and running in no time. We do need a new toilet but for now we are good to go. He gave us his card and said to call him personally with any issues. I would definitely call this company again and hopefully I can request Joe.

I had the extreme pleasure of Jake from Roto-Rooter come out and save my day. I am a new home owner in a new construction so when my garbage disposal unit was shutting off and causing my dishwasher to backup, I had to ask for help. And I’m so happy I did. Jake came right on time, worked professionally by explaining all the potential issues and then worked to fix it all in a single swoop.Not only a great worker, but a great guy as well.Will certainly be using these services again and specifically asking for him back if I ever need any work done, and I suggest anyone who needs help does the same!

I paid $280 thinking my toilet would get unclogged. Unfortunately it did not and the next day it overflowed and was clogged once again.

I recommend Jake! He is very professional, fast, nice and attentive. Very knowledgeable of the work he’s doing and gets the job done. He fixed the broken pipes in my HVAC unit and replaced the shut-off valves for my bathroom sink. If you need someone who can get the job done right then and there…..ask for Jake!

I’m leaving the review for my mother Reed, but I also live here so technically I got the service too.Joe was our plumber tonight! Joe was efficient, very sweet, and super respectful! I have a sleeping toddler in the house and he barely let his voice go above a whisper. Even outside he was keeping his voice low. That alone deserves 5 stars. He even apologized for making noise if it got to loud. Overall, he was amazing and as my mom put it, “the highlight of her week” as silly as it sounds. We will most certainly not only use this company again, but definitely will be requesting Joe every chance we can!

Matt from Roto Rooter was the technician who was sent when we called the 24 hour number on a early Sunday morning. Matt responded promptly and was onsite with within a couple hours. We explained our situation to Matt he was confident he could unclog the blockage that we had in our commercial size sewer line, and he did just that in a very short time. Matt was very professional and I would highly recommend Roto Rooter.

Twice I used a local handy man to unclog my drain and finally got fed up. I decided to us a legitimate company that gives a warranty. I called at 3:00 and they were at my house at 7:00. Very professional, on time and concerning technicians unclogged my drain and gave me good advice. The total job was a little pricey but worth the satisfaction of not having to smell sewage.

Was honest, professional and worked in a timely fashion. Could have done the repair job myself but not as fast or as pressing a job. Well worth spending the money to have Jake from Roto come do the work as I was able to spend on a Friday night with my guests rather than do the repair myself. Will have to request Jake to come work on future project so I Cando family things instead of stress over the frustrations of under the sink jobs with small space to work.

For a water heater repair, we were provided with the rough time slot of between 1 and 5 PM. The technician arrived at 10:15 PM. They took a look at the water heater and said they have just the right guy to help us with the fix. Just the right guy arrived next day and as soon as he looked at the water heater, he told us that they don't fix tankless water heaters. The website says that they do.They should understand the implication of their mismanagement and miscommunication on the customers. We need hot water and would have planned an alternate repair plan if they had communicated clearly through the numerous instances they had to let us know that they can't/won't help us. Also, arriving 5 hours later than the scheduled time?!?

Dave showed up ready to work. He was able to address and access the issue by just looking at the damage. I was able to resolve the issue the same day and that was a relief. Simple things like flushing the toilet are not really thought of until you can't. Dave's expertise allowed me to understand what happened in my home. I will give them 2 stars because they showed up quickly and were able to fix the problem quickly. However, they wanted to charge $720 to remove a toilet and snake the line. When I told them we will find somebody else, they lowered the price to $620 and acted like they were doing me a favor. I expressed that the price is still way too high for this work, and I was given a spiel about how much work will go into solving the issue. Given our sense of urgency to fix the problem, I reluctantly agreed and told them to go ahead. 45 minutes later, the job is done. Though I appreciate the efficiency, $600+ for 45 minutes of work is highway robbery. They will miss out on a lot of repeat business because of this. Oh, and they left the downstairs bathroom a complete mess. Maybe they have a cleaning department that can come clean the mess for the amicable price of $575!

Dan was very professional. I had used Roto Rooter 2 mos ago for a drain clean and sewer cap repair, and that service was not up to par. I was angry, and Dan did his best to help rectify my issue. I felt confident that my issue was resolved after his service !

Service Technician Dan 212 came out and did a great job. He found the cause of our leak, was professional, quick, and very thorough. It was probably the best experience I had with Roto rooter ever.

Fast service but sewer clean up was more than double their estimated price without any reason. Itemized bill to insurance contained all of these items that weren’t present at the time of clean up (supervisor who was not present, personal protective equipment that was not worn, after hours charges that we were not told about, the list goes on).They estimated $9k to replace our problem sewer line, then told us it would be $14k once we got the insurance check in the mail. Mohammed said he’d be back in two days to verify the price and he never showed up again. Yes, we luckily have insurance, but their overcharge raised our premium.Our neighbors had similar problems, so I’d highly advise you avoid them at all costs. Can’t believe such a well known company is such a scam! Still haven’t found another provider but won’t be using roto rooter.

The job ended up being even more complicated than we initially expected, but the technician was determined to fully solve the problem! He was at our house for hours attacking the drain from every angle. He even sent back additional techs the next day to check-in to be sure the problem was resolved. We now realize that other companies were simply doing a minimal amount of work that offered a temporary fix to a problem/blockage that must have been going on for some time. Two plumbers repaired a toilet where the flapper wasn’t lined up correctly. They patiently waited before jumping in to do the repair so the toilet could misbehave, giving them an opportunity to see what was going on. They worked quickly and efficiently. I will definitely use their services again!

Never fixed the issue, my toilet was clogged and the water was leaking on the floor when the toilet was flushed , they came used a toilet augur charged me $260 and said the toilet was fixed the issue wasn’t fixed and the toilet was still leaking, they came back out 3 days later and charged me another $500. This place is a rip off, I would never use them again or recommend to anyone. Why was I charged twice for the same job that you NEVER fixed. RIP OFF.To make matters worst they are never on time, the first time they came at 11:30am when they were suppose to be here at 9am, second time they were suppose to be here at 12pm but came at 3pm. Horrible

Septic pump was clogged, they came same day and gave me the run down of best and worst case scenario. Fortunately for me it was some debris that needed to be cleaned, fast and they cleaned up the mess that was made.

During these changing times the Technician (Alwin) arrived 15 minutes Early! He was covered with mask. He quoted me a price to replace the main pipe from the bathroom to the basement. They worked all day until it was done. The left nothing behind. Great Service . I will go back to them for any plumbing needs! 10 Stars!

This is the worst experience I ever had. Their “sales specialist” tried to finesse me proclaiming everything was a package deal not justifying that they are just a clean up company and the plumber is separate. Trying to charge me $3700 just to clean up water(btw just a puddle full/nothing major and don’t even fix my pipes. Such a waist of time. Do not recommend at all.

They plumber never showed up after I waited 4 hours and wasted an entire day. A representative had the nerve to call me up 30 minutes after the 4 hour window had lapsed and offered the worst excuse that I have ever heard. She claimed that they thought that the appointment was for 2 AM in the morning. I asked her if that were true why are you calling 30 minutes after your people never showed for the scheduled time. I will never do business with this company again and I would warn anyone else to avoid them at all cost.

Had a blockage with the line off the kitchen sink that was creating issues with kitchen sink and dish washer. They came out and cleared everything up in a timely fashion. Clearly explained what they were doing as they went and what was causing the issue.

Prompt, honest and professional. They analysed our slow drain issue and determined that all we needed to do was use a monthly enzymatic pipe conditioner, despite our prior belief that we might need line cleaning out to the street. In short, they could have made a lot of money off of us if they hadn't been honest.

Needed an emergency drain service at 10pm and they came quickly. They set me up with an insursnce adjuster the same night and had water restoration in my house the next day for cleanup. I didnt expect much initially but was extremely impressed by the service start to finish and i would reccomend them to anyone.

Our technician came out to our home at 8pm and was very helpful! We had a clogged drain with an attached garbage disposal. The service took an hour and is guaranteed for 6 months. Our technician was also very respectful of our home and kept everything clean!

Our tech arrived on time, fully masked (covid precautions) and was very informative! He provided us with the knowledge of what to look for and how to protect our outside sewer drain from dirt and debris.

I had a blockage issue in my line that caused my Family Room Toilet to constantly overflow. Dan came in and did and excellent job, now we can take a shower or use the bathroom upstairs without worrying if the toilet will overflow downstairs.

I called Roto Rooter this afternoon because of its reputation after I panicked. I had already waited two days for a plumbing company that was a no show in regard to a kitchen clog in my sink that just was'nt moving..In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, my kitchen is crucially needed. Cleaning dishes in the bathroom was scary for me. We are Habitat Philadelphia partner homeowners on a fixed income disabled family at the moment....I just received double total hip replacements in 2018-2019 and my youngest daughter is non-ambulatory with CP and a host of other physical-mentally challenges.Roto Rooter immediately added me to the repair schedule between 4pm and 8pm...I received calls from the technician and dispatch in regard to when they would arrive due to back up in repairs they were running late. I loved how dispatched asked was it alright to come later than scheduled.Service technician Mr. Romaine finally came out around 9:30 pm.....He was very professional, followed COVID-19 guidelines mask, social distancing as he worked, gave very helpful information in regard to my problem and fixed kitchen the sink, BUT most of all he showed care, understanding and took time to just listen.. I am so appreciative of that and will forget his help..Thank you Roto Rooter!!!GOD BLESS.....

The technician was very friendly & explained very clearly what the cause of the problem was with the leak under my sink. He completed the repair in a short amount of time and cleaned up afterwards.

Not a great experience. Showed up about 20 minutes late in the morning and then rescheduled to later in the day because they couldn't find parking. Later in the day they called about a half hour after the estimated window to tell me they would have to reschedule to the next day. The next day they still didn't show up during their estimated window after I purposely found them a parking spot, so I cancelled my appointment. I would suggest reading reviews from multiple websites.

Our water heater stopped working over the weekend, and we scheduled an appointment with Roto-Rooter the following Monday (they said they would show up between 1 pm and 5 pm). On Monday, right before 3 pm, I get a call from Roto-Rooter saying that they are running behind and hence, my service will be delayed. When I asked the person I was speaking to when I could expect the plumber, she said between 1 and 5. This was very confusing, as the company called to tell me there was going to be a delay, but then they told me that the plumber will be there within the original window of time? Needless to say, the plumbers did not show up before 5 pm. They showed up at 10 pm, 5 hours after they should have. The two plumbers who came were very nice and professional. They take a quick look at our water heater, and said there wasn’t much that could be done that night, since all of the stores are closed. While they are at our home, we tell them about the issue, and we specifically mention that it is a tankless water heater, and they schedule us for an emergency appointment the next day (between 2:30 pm – 4 pm) since we had been waiting for so long. Different plumbers come in the next day (at around 2:30 pm), and they refuse to help us because our water heater is tankless!! I then get a call from someone from Roto-Rooter saying that we were told that they do not work on tankless water heaters. We were never told that they would not service a tankless water heater!! We let them know that our water heater was tankless, and no one ever said anything to us with regard to that. In fact, the website even says that they repair and replace tankless water heaters on their front page (see attached image)! Roto-Rooter completely wasted our time, and we will now have to live without heated water for at least two more days had their mix-up not happened.
