Economy Drain Cleaning & Plumbing

I put in a request on Yelp for quotes at 9:00 PM, and by 9:04, I had a response from Economy Drain Cleaning & Plumbing for two availability windows for someone to come by the following day, as early as 8 AM (so less than 12 hours after my initial request!). Two plumbers arrived within the window I requested and were able to remove a broken and leaky garbage disposal and re-plumb my under-sink area with regular pipes (since I wasn't ready to commit to a brand-new disposal). They worked quickly and efficiently, and I'm very pleased with the results. They charged what I felt was a very decent rate for service and parts, and they were done before I knew it. I would definitely consider them for future needs!

I emailed economy when I first noticed I had a pipe leaking after doing a Google search. So glad I did. My email was answered in less than 2 hours and I had an appointment for somebody to come take a look later that night. They arrived and were super nice, after showing them the where I thought the leak was they knew immediately that it was in a different spot. They had to cut into my wall to find it but found it on the 1st attempt. Gave me a thorough explanation of what happened and I had an estimate in my email later that night which was a very fair price. Once the estimate was approved they had a team there 48 hours later. Couldn't be happier with how long it took to fix, and all clean up was done by them. Highly highly recommend economy if you need plumbing work done. Very professional

Great customer service, great technician!! Called these folks first thing in the morning after my water wouldn't turn on -- they gave me a time slot for just a couple hours later and the technician, Sam, was early! Sam was amazing, super professional and helpful. He explained what was going on and taught us some important basics for any first-time home owner. Can't recommend the company and Sam enough -- they really care about their customers and it shows.

Hydro jetting was needed in my sewer pipes I called quick response and appointment was made. Tommy and Chris called and asked would it be all right to start earlier than expected. Sure!!! They showed up promptly and got right to work and explained to me what was goin on every step of the way exhausted every possibility until I was unclogged and my nightmare was over. I would recommend this company to anyone with plumbing needs. Great service and very reasonably priced. I could have hugged them I was so happy!!

Had Tim and Anthony out for a couple jobs recently and they were incredibly professional, efficient and clear with communication. They went above and beyond for a difficult faucet installation that I think some others might have quit on and helped determine where a leak in our shower was coming from really quickly. I like Economy because they always show up on time and do a great job. Highly recommended.

Anthony was great! He came at the behin of the arrival time I was given, and completed the flapper repair very quickly. He also helped me with some preventive maintenance tips so the toilet lasts longer. I definitely recommend this company.

My tankless electric heater stopped providing hot water , when I saw all the great reviews for this plumbing company via the neighborhood sites. I called on Monday, received immediate courteous phone response and was able to an appt. the next day between 8-10am , Alan the service rep was prompt, 8am arrived and completed installing a replacement part that I provided within the hour. He also answered a few questions Re: my tank and the service overall that Alan provided was excellent !! The pricing was reasonable as well. I will ONLY use Economy Drain ,Cleaning & Plumbing in the future and will recommend to neighbors too!

New customer. Called due to noisy sump pump and they had a technician out within an hour! Sammy, the technician, was great! He was honest and showed me that my pump was fine and it was just that my float got caught up. He pushed it down and applied WD-40. He also recommended a standby pump from Home Depot for $50 in case of emergency but told me I was unlikely to need to use it. He saved me from buying a new pump when less honest serviceman would have told me I needed a new one immediately.

An incredibly professional experience from start to finish from Economy and their team! We had ductless ac & heat installed first in two days. Economy got to our house really quick after our water heater sprung a leak. They identified that the water heater needed to be replaced and replaced it in less than 2 hours. I appreciated that speed and responsive to our emergency situation. There were some minor details/issues they left behind, and if I did this again I may have slowed down a bit to get another quote before proceeding. But overall I am happy with Economy.

Had the pleasure of working with this company after years of dealing with another plumbing company that was competent enough to get jobs done but they made life difficult at times. After having my sewer line back up twice in two years due to root intrusions in the terracotta (!) pipe, I decided it was time to replace rather than just clear the line. Figured out my main water line had a leak in it. I then called Travis at 7pm just to see if he had any availability in the near future. His response was “on my way”! Had a gas leak at my gas manifold. Appointment setup was quick and simple via email. Anthony and Hunter came out, fixed the leaks and installed shutoff valves for each take off. When PGW came back to open up the main feed valve there was another leak at one of the connections. I called Economy, and Anthony and Hunter came out and fixed it within 30mins. Thanks!

My 15 yr old sump pump stopped working and l decided to replace with a new one. While other businesses would charge me $70+ just to take a look, Economy Plumbing gave me a quote over the phone (and the price was very reasonable!). The plumbers Tim and Sam were punctual, professional, efficient, courteous, very effective and wasted no time at all diagnosing and resolving the drain issue. They were true to their business name..Economy as well. My plumber recently retired so I was in the market for a new one and I feel I just found one. They even were mindful of my carpet and asked to leave from the back! I'd recommend them to anyone if all their employees were like them.

Amazing. Ease and communication in setting up an appointment was exceptional. Sam was amazing at talking through the situation with me and explaining my options. (Side note: Despite being the sole homeowner and person paying for work, I’ve had issues in the past with some folks at other companies/in other trades talking to me like I’m dumb or trying to get unnecessary work out of me because I’m a woman. I submitted for an appointment on their website for an issue with my toilet / drain and within 15 minutes I got an email response back to schedule and then within 20 minutes Sammy arrived at my house. Discovered the issue with my toilet right away and then did tests to check for drainage issues (which there were none). Provided some tips going forward and was extremely polite, honest and professional throughout the visit (they even wore boot covers before entering the house!). I called this morning and they sent Anthony and Tim over within 20 mins. They were able to quickly identify the issue and replace the parts that needed replacing. In less than 30 minutes, the problem was diagnosed to the best of his ability and a fix was identified to get the pump working again. Travis and his guys at Economy Plumbing were great! I realize my hot water heater was leaking water on a late Friday afternoon in my finished basement and was ready go at any point, which could of been 40 gallons of water taking over my basement floor. Within 1 hour of calling, Anthony was sent out to my house to see what was going on... less then 24 hours later Anthony and Phil were back bright and early to install a brand new hot water heater.Very efficient and professional work and more then reasonable pricing. If you go anywhere else for your plumbing needs your making a big mistake!!!

Both Sam and Tim were awesome, incredibly professional, and patient with the repairs that had to be made. As far my experience setting up the repairs, I was able to get someone out to look at a few leaks and I get the repairs done within a day. Email and text communication is great! During the service, Sam gave me a lot of great advice for some future bathroom updates to my house, and I will for sure be calling again when it's time for me to make them.

With a main drain blockage and unable to shower because of it, I went in search of drain cleaning company. Economy had great ratings online, so I gave them a call. I really liked that they had two tiers of pricing, snake and hydro, as others I called had only one quoted price (the higher one). They also had same day availability, so I went ahead and scheduled. They are very well set up electronically, providing both text and email communication.Manuel arrived a few minutes before the 1-3pm window. I explained the issue, and off to work he went, first attempting to clear the blockage by snaking. Unfortunately, he found tree roots in the drain, so hydro was necessary. Back to work he went and in about 45 minutes the drain was completely cleared. I really liked that he took the time to explain the issues and how the different techniques worked. I also liked that, in going over some other issues, Manuel told us what we DIDN'T need to worry about right now (rather than try to sell us on more repairs). We are now considering Economy for a slow tub drain and replacement of the pipe section that had revealed the blockage. Very happy with the service.

I've now used Economy two times and have had a good experience with each. Our main sewage line had a back up and they were able to use the hydro jet and clear our line. They also used a camera to look inside and see what was causing the back-up. Each time the workers were kind and happy to explain the process step by step with me. They went above and beyond to troubleshoot what was happening with our plumbing and why we were having issues. They gladly answered all my questions and offered advice as well. To say the experience was great would be an understatement. As a mama who just had a baby a few weeks ago being stressed and sleep deprived was already enough to break one but adding a basement that was leaking water anytime water was in use (dishes, laundry, bathroom, etc.) was the end all be all. I contacted Economy Drain Cleaning & Plumbing late at night and was greeted with someone who told me no need to worry that worrying would be their job so I could focus on my babies. Sam was a huge help in unclogging an old drain that hadn't been maintained in years. Shower was having issue. Called them in the morning around 8:00am. Got them to set up a appointment between 10 and noon. Alan got here 5 minutes before 10. We showed him the issue and told him what was going on. He got the job done before noon. We didn't expect the job to done as fast as he did. I had an issue with my water heater, PGW came out and was unable to get the pilot to light, so the gas could connect and heat up. I called Economy Drain Cleaning (EDC). With all the heavy rains we've been having I experienced a bit of flooding because my drain was backed up. Tom was so thorough - he cleared the drain and also checked the backup drain and sump pump to make sure they were running well. He also flushed the gutter to verify everything was clear. He left me with some recommendations to keep the drain clear, especially with the nearby trees. I would definitely recommend and use Economy again.

Alan and Anthony diagnosed a hose bib break in my back yard that caused a flood in my basement. They quickly and efficiently fixed the broken pipe and answered all the questions I had. This Company is AMAZING!!! It’s no other way to express the service I received today!!! From start to finish the service I received was Exceptional! I had a bad situation at one of my property’s where one of the pipes had busted! Travis (Boss) was very professional and very knowledgeable about the job that needed to be done. I had a broken and leaking drain on my kitchen sink. Economy answered their phone quickly and and was able to quickly schedule for first thing the following morning. Later in the day they called to let me know they could squeeze me in same day so I would not have to go another night without a usable kitchen sink. On-site the problem was diagnosed and fixed within 30 minutes. Anthony was kind, clean, respectful of our home and thorough.

Tom came out on time and was very professional. He took the time to ask me questions about our issue (flooded basement if yard drain isn’t cleaned), walk me through the proposed solution and showed me the state of our sewer lateral. There was barely any flow trickling out of the line and it was very gunked up. He jetted our sewer from the sidewalk access and from our yard drain and showed me the results after cleaning. Tom ran the hose in our yard drain and flushed the toilets so I could see the results. We had good flow and you could see that there wasn’t any gunk in our line. He even made sure to check that there wasn’t any water coming through the basement walls where we’ve seen water come through in a storm when the yard drain isn’t cleared.

They installed my garbage disposal for a very fair price. I was able to make an appointment right away, and the plumbers who did the installation were quick and professional. They ensured everything was working properly before leaving and that there were no leaks. They also explained what to do if I run into any issues with it in the future.

I cannot say enough great things about Economy and their amazing tech Tommy. I had a previous plumber come out to snake a clog due to my tenant using flushable wipes. he was way in over his head and got his snake stuck outside my main sewer and left it there stuck. Economy came and not only saved me atleast $6k and qn excacavation to get the snake out, they actually fixed the clog using their hydro jet!! They used their truck to manually pull the snake out. I would highly recommend them. They saved me thousands of dollars and an insurance claim. Only caused a few hundred dollars which was well worth it.

I could not be happier with this company and my experience with them!I noticed my hot water heater leaking on Memorial Day Weekend and had trouble getting in touch with other plumbers. I was preparing myself to be without hot water for a few days but then my friend suggested Economy Drain Cleaning and Plumbing, so I gave them a call. To my surprise, they were available to replace my water heater the same day. They also came to my house on time with a high quality Rheem water heater. The stairs down to my basement are certainly a nightmare, but they remained optimistic and got the new one in and the old one out uneventfully. Professionalism and efficiency were on full display the whole time. I have not had any work done by Economy yet, however still wanted to share my positive experience I have had with them. When I do need to get my work done I will most definitely be using them.I am buying an old house in Port Richmond. When getting my home inspection completed I elected to have a sewer scope done. My inspector found a crack in the sewer line. I'm no expert but know that this type of problem will cost thousands. Frantic, due to not having a lot of time left in my inspection contingency period, I reached out to numerous plumbing companies asking for an estimate. Out of all the companies I reached out to only two answered me, Travis at Economy, and another local company that told me they'd look into my problem but never got back to me.Travis answered me at 11 pm within 5 minutes of me sending an email. The next morning he was texting me asking for more information to my problem. I sent him the inspection report with pictures and video of the cracked sewer line. He said that the report had some good info, but he wanted to meet in person and talk more. He drove out of his way to the house I'm buying and met with me for about twenty minutes. He made it easy for me to understand what his plan would be and provide me with a rough estimate to provide to the sellers of the home. He was professional, friendly, and just overall helpful. You can tell that he prides himself on providing good customer service which is so rare nowadays. Contacted this company on a Saturday late afternoon and within a few hours they stopped out! Gave us a free quote and detailed what the issues could be. Sent someone out Monday to look more deeply into our pipe issue and fixed one clog. Came back out Wednesday and replaced all the older pipes that were necessary. Very professional, timely and reasonable. Would definitely recommend and use Economy again! Thank you guys again!!

I was satisfied with the work completed. I just had one concern on the water level in the back storm drain. The tech said it was ok, time will tell. Overall Manuel Beltran did a good job as it wasn’t an easy task.

These guys are the best. A part on my hot water heater blew at night in the middle of a snow storm. I found their name on Google and within an hour of calling, Travas and Anthony arrived to install the replacement part. They were very easy to work with and did a great job. Anthony is wonderful. Him and Al, installed two water heaters for my multi-family home. Anthony has a great ability to detect the source of the problem, even when the space seems a bit chaotic. I just purchased my home a few months ago--the basement is unfinished with disorderly wiring. Somehow Anthony figured the system out to install the electrical water heaters and I thank him for sticking with the job and problem solving. One note, if you have a tankless water heater, you may want to notify them ahead. Tank water heaters is their thing.

Shocked they have a high google rating. Called on a Tuesday to schedule appointment same day but was allegedly booked so scheduled me for Wednesday 3/17/21 for 11 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Confirmed appointment via email after I requested. This morning, I cleared my schedule around their appointment, and waited for 2 hours and they never showed, called or contacted me whatsoever. After calling their office and getting voicemail, I finally get a call from an Anthony at 1:00 p.m., letting me know that they were running late for my 11 a.m. appointment. Really! Thanks for calling 2 hours later to let me know that while I wasted my entire morning and early afternoon waiting for you. Then after I try to explain how a phone call before you are 2 hours late for an appointment would be more advantageous, Anthony hangs up on me and ignores my multiple phone calls back. Apparently, Economy Drain's time is way more valuable than your time.They should spend less money on ads and google ratings and spend some of that money on upgrading their workforce.

These people are wonderful! I had a clogged drain behind my house, at the bottom of the outside steps going into the basement. That drain goes under the house and out to the sewer line in front of the house. Two very nice men arrived just an hour after I called. They told me that the clog was actually in front of the house and accessed it from a vent pipe on the front sidewalk. It took them just a few minutes to plunge the line. I went out back to check the drain and it was cleared. I will definitely be calling them again next time I have a problem.

They just left and couldn’t be happier with their work and communication. A family ring fell down kitchen sink, somehow bypassing the garbage disposal and P catch. They came out a couple hours after we called, found the ring using a camera and luckily it was at a point in the pipes that was easy to get to. It cost exactly what they quoted on the phone which was pretty reasonable considering it was a Sunday. Would recommend to anyone needing a plumber.

I had Econemy plumbing replace my sewer line from my basement all the way to my curb trap and water service about a week ago. Not only was the price the cheapest I found the quality of work was great and everything was done in 1 day. I highly recommend this company for any plumbing need.

Had an issue with installing a bidet / T-valve to my toilet which caused it to be out of service. Luckily, they were able to come the next morning to check it out at no cost. They told me i would be charged the service fee of $135 and they could finish the install of the bidet, which seemed cheaper than what some other places were quoting.The toilet is now working properly and I am satisfied that they were able to come quickly to fix the issue.

I had PGW doing some work on the gas lines outside on my block. When the PGW person came back to turn my gas back on and relight the pilots he was shocked that I wasn’t dead yet. Apparently my water heater hadn’t been connected to the chimney for a long time and by the grace of God I didn’t die from carbon monoxide poisoning. The leaking gas did destroyed my water heater though. I was terrified and didn’t know who to call. Came across Economy Drain Cleaning and Plumbing on a neighborhood Facebook page and gave them a call. They picked up immediately, squeezed me into the schedule for the techs to come take a look first thing the next day and then replaced my water heater, gas lines and reconnected it to the chimney in the same day. Anthony and Steven were absolutely wonderful. They were clear about my options, looped me into any decisions that needed to be made, and put my concerns at ease. I’m so happy the with job they did. While I hope I don’t have to call them to fix anything else any time soon haha, should a problem with something else arise, they will be my first call!

Reached out to get my garbage disposal replaced/ repaired, they ended up being able to unclog it and get it to work right away (yay) however, a day later was clogged again and NOT working. This was not a big deal at first, as I had assumed it needed replacing in the first place (as I had even triple-checked with the tech who came out) that he was SURE it didn't need replacing. He said no. So, when sink started backing up again NEXT DAY I decide to wait for a few days to notify them (my bad - have a life, covid19 makes it scary to want a stranger in your house multiple times in a row) and now, I'm told I need to get a garbage disposal myself so they can put it in? My first thought is, why wasn't I told this for the first visit when I was sure they'd be replacing my garbage disposal? Also, any legitimate plumber should have those supplies, and it's why I'd reached out to this company in the first place to source what I needed for me. I don't know what the heck to buy. Who I assume is the owner calls me, and sounds INCREDIBLY suspicious about what I'm telling him? I get out of there quickly, message them that I'd like a partial refund for the garbage disposal since it had ended up being a completely extraneous visit as my garbage disposal and sink is clogged AGAIN. Guy gives me sass via messenger, says the work was done that I paid for so why would I expect a refund (the picture of the clogged sink I sent did nothing to persuade). I'm sure this company will have a good explanation for all of this, but the fact of the matter is, I'm leaving this review because what I had asked for was not done properly the first time, and instead of being greeted with great customer service and an attempt to fix it, I was met with suspicion, disbelief Why did I wait to reach out etc.

Called these guys on a Friday afternoon after discovering water in my basement. They were able to come in about an hour and resolve the issue. The guys who came seemed very knowledgeable and thoroughly explained what they thought the problem was, and what to look out for in the future. Price was comparable to what i'd expect for the quick turn-around time.

I hired this company to uncover the pipe they said they would charge me 350 because it was a Saturday the boy put the snake in and I couldn't uncover the pipe then he said he had to use another method but that it would cost me $ 350 more in total it would cost me $ 700 I said no that it was a lot of money. The guy left without solving my problem and he charged me $ 200 for doing nothing, I am aware that he had to pay something at least $ 100 for his time but $ 200 is too much

Technician was condescending and unprofessional on the phone the day of the service call before he entered my rental unit. His diagnosis was that the ceiling was dry rotted and sagging down from a drip. He told me it would be $300 just to cut it open and see what’s going on. Turns out there is no dry rot or sag and the ceiling is dry. This was a dishonest service call, from someone who sounded like they were on drugs. False diagnosis and recommendation to open up ceiling that didn’t need to be opened.

Travis did everything he said. Very professional and a really honest guy. We would differently recommend his company.

This is a fast and up coming company over night. And they are a great group of guys respectful and hard workers. They show up on time. And get right to work. There work is always clean and top notch and by the code. They have a great leader and one of the kind boss. He will get right in there and work right beside you to get the Job done. That's a BIG PLUS in my eyes. You don't see that anymore. The Boss is easy to work with and he is a Honest guy not the type to sell you something you don't need. This company is my 1 of my 2 favorite plumbing company's. 10 ? from me.

As Philly's COVID-19 cases continue to set record-breaking numbers each day, I was thrilled to wake up to a crew of 5+ workers working on my block without masks at about 7am. On top of this, they decided to use my stoop to hold their jackets and drinks. They also weren't hired by me so I'm not sure why my stoop would be where they store their personal items throughout the day (especially during a pandemic LOL). This is at least the second or third time this has happened over the past few months. Sad to see safety and mask-wearing isn't a priority.

The owners wife handles all calls she is rude, disrespectful and extremely unprofessional. She doesn't like her job or people. Charged me for a service that wasn't completed. Would never use this company again. Would not recommend to anyone.

Timmy is the man ??

These gentlemen came to my home to replace my service line after an accident cracked the old lead one my house came with. They were able to replace it with a copper pipe, as well as give a new service port with cap, and minimized the time I had to go without water. The worker wearing sunglasses walked me through the steps they were taking and even let me know to flush the pipe from the hose bib in the yard to prevent sediment from clogging my sinks after the job was done.The new line was placed much better than the original and leaves room between the indoor shut off valve and the wall in case sometime in the future an emergency repair is needed for the future homeowners after me. They also attached my original grounding wires to the new pipes, which goes to show they are considerate (they also swept the dirt their boots tracked into the house as they left).Their service was conscientious and of good quality. Their price is reasonable and I didn't need to sacrifice thoroughness to get it. Thank you for your work!
