Last fall, in October 2018, my wife and I stopped by the showroom of Lifetime Windows and Doors in Phoenix to see their line of Marvin products, which I understood to be as good as it gets in the industry. After expressing interest, we were surprised that they said they would consider doing an install in Ajo, AZ., two-plus hours away from their warehouse/showroom. In case you’re wondering yes it’s hard to get top installers to come out to small rural towns in Arizona. Less than a week later they sent one representative to look over the project (a complete rehab of a 103 year old house on the historic register) and determine how many windows and doors and which would satisfy the historic register requirements. After agreeing to the basic proposal, they sent a second crew out to do exact measurements - each of the 17 windows and one door was to be custom made by Marvin to the exact measurements. Shortly after the approximately 7 week wait for the order to arrive at Lifetime, a crew of two installers came — it was quickly clear that John and Tommy were very experienced in every - and I do mean every - detail of replacing over 100 year old windows with the new ones. John and Tommy were absolutely first class. I know I sound a bit over the top - but as a fairly handy do-it yourself homeowner I had a darned good idea as to what they were up against, and I can say that they did a totally world-class install of what are definitely top of the line windows. Marvin is very careful about who they let install their products, and for sure they get the treatment they deserve from Lifetime. And you should know, the company is called Lifetime because they guarantee their products and their install for double lifetime. That is, 100% warranted for as long as I own the house; and if I sell it, for the lifetime of the new owner. Too good to be true? Sounds like it, but so far I can report that approximately 5 months after the install a gasket on the half French door began to fail; not in anyway that was going to compromise the actual door seal, but nevertheless needed replacement (Marvin overbuilds the heck out of their stuff!). John came out to assess it; and about a month later George came out and replaced it. Yes I would expect that most companies would have just blown me off over a redundant, failed gasket. Understand that this fully warranted repair took two trips for them, and what I got was visits from happy and skilled employees who were clearly glad to be working for Lifetime. And while he was here, George gave me some much appreciated valuable tips and suggestions about another door I had installed myself that needed some tweaking. So my experience is of being taken care of, 110%. This includes how good their office staff was at being in communication with me every step of the way — they’re easy to coordinate with in terms of scheduling, and they call back to confirm every appointment (I suppose that’s par for the course, but at least in my experience, Lifetime is super committed to making sure things go as planned — and they arrive when they say they will, also in my experience unusual for construction contractors). And they called me several days after the install to check in to see that everything was in fact up to standard and expectation. As far as my experience with Lifetime is concerned, when they take on a job they do it with absolutely 100% world class workmanship and good cheer. I know that’s a long story just to get to the bottom line: if you are considering top of the line new windows and or doors for your home I’m sure you will not do better than Marvin products installed by Lifetime Windows and Doors.
