Fast, professional, honest, quality work at reasonable prices.Our 13 year old HVAC started blowing hot air and the outside fan wouldn't turn on. We had another HVAC company came out the day before and tell us the only real option was to buy a new unit. We called Intelligent design for a second opinion and Kevin came within a couple hours of our call and was able to fix the unit in a few hours during a monsoon. It's working great now. I'm definitely calling Kevin & Intelligent design anytime we have any issues with our AC from now on.

Jake did an excellent job locating the problem with my air conditioner and fixing the problem so it is working in time for the heat. He was very polite and considerate also. I have used this company for both plumbing and air and have been satisfied both times.

I was introduced to Intellegent Design (ID) through Chris Cramer of Strongbuilt Enterprise, LLC. Since then ID has serviced my brothers rental home and my own home. The latest service was quickly resolved when they identified the capacitor was out and needed to be replaced. Once they arrived on site we were up and running within 15 minutes because he had the part needed in his truck. Highly recommend Strongbuilt and ID.

Technician Erick is the best AC person. He knows exactly what he is doing. Everyone was always on time, polite, respectful and even cleaned up After the job. Entire company is the best I have worked with (and have had many). I even referred them to my parents. Also use them for plumbing, electrical, etc.. It is cool and comfortable in my home now. Do yourself a break and call them. You won’t be sorry.

Another great job by Intelligent Design. Lo and her crew arrived right on time. They were very professional and efficient - originally told us process would take about 4 hours and were done in about 2 1/2.After they completed the duct cleaning they went thru the entire house, wiping down surfaces where debris that had fallen from the vents, as well as sweeping and vacuuming the floor.VERY PLEASED

A life saver. Came on a Sunday 20 minutes after an emergency call

Intelligent Design not only service my prior unit but sold to me and installed an upgraded unit. Every thing went well until the job was finished. There were no owners manuals left with me. Thinking that maybe they would be delivered later, I waited a couple of weeks and then called. I was assured that they would be sent to me. After another week of no action, I emailed Eric and received a phone call and it was agreed that the manuals would be sent to me. Six days later with still no manuals I sent another email indicating that I was become impatient. I now have the manuals, plus a letter of apology from Kelsi. All is well and as with any company. some times there will be glitches. Just keep asking.

Intelligent design informed me a year ago that my AC system was on its last legs. We discussed various options but I decided for some simple repair rather than replacement. At the check up getting ready for summer, sure enough the systems were really hurting. Intelligent Design worked with me on various equipment & financing options and we landed on a system that I was happy with.. That was Monday morning. By Thursday night the system was installed and the house was cool (& much quieter!).The install team was very courteous and conscientious about cleaning up after themselves.I highly recommend Intelligent Design for your Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning needs.

In June 2015 the owner of my house signed up for the Preventive Maintenance Club at Intelligent Design Air Conditioning and Heating. Over the next year there were three visits from Intelligent Design personnel for my systems - each visit was a TOTAL DISASTER. On 08 Jul 2016 the owner requested that association with this maintenance program be terminated and the unused portion of the payment be returned. The cost of the maintenance program was $1600 for five years (covering two AC/heating systems), which is $320 per year or $1280 for the unused remaining four years of the plan. In addition, damaged caused to the ceiling during visit #2, discussed below, is estimated at $145 in repair costs. For these items Intelligent Design owes $1425. In addition, during the first visit, the technician grossly overcharged an AC system with freon and charged $300 for the freon, which was subsequently squirted out onto the property. There was no refund for this $300 for wasted freon. Adding this to the previous amount bring a total of $1725. Intelligent Design has not provided the requested refund.Summary of Visits by Intelligent Design technicians:#1. Using a faulty pressure gauge, the technician grossly overcharged an AC unit at a cost of $300 in freon. The unit then overheated and completely stopped working. The technician returned and using a correctly working gauge determined the gross overcharging. The excess freon was squirted out and the unit cooled with massive amounts of water. The unit now makes sounds suggesting there was some damaged done to the compressor.#2. The second visit was to inspect the furnaces in the attic. A trainee was the only person in the attic. He walked in places he should not have and damaged the ceiling. I was told that this trainee was judged to be so incompetent he was subsequently fired by Intelligent Design.#3 The third visit was again to check the AC units. Two costly repairs were recommend by the technician. Being extremely suspicious of the capabilities of Intelligent Design technicians at this point, a well-know, well-regarded, competent professional AC maintenance firm was called to examine the units. That technician thoroughly documented that the repairs proposed by Intelligent Design are BOGUS and unneeded. This technician described the recommendations of Intelligent Design as either a scam: or the result of gross incompetence and ignorance.In Better Business Bureau case # 19049950, this company was givien an opportunity to act in a responsible, professional, ethical manner. The management chose NOT to do so - further defining the nature of the operation. CAVEAT EMPTOR !!!

I had a seasonal check on my system done and found that a new filter kit was needed. This needed to be ordered and since it was not immediately needed we picked a date 2 weeks out for installation. JP arrived on the scheduled date and time, did the installation and I was able to continue my day. I did NOT have to wait around the entire day. Installation was quick and efficient. It was a pleasure to work with JP. Highly recommended!

After waking up one morning to water leaking from what appeared to be my water heater,I called Intelligent Design Heating and Cooling,who came highly recommended.Kris and Danno showed up right away and anaylized my situation and quickly determined that the condensate line behind the water heater needed to be replaced and noticed water pooled under my furnace platform. After extracting the water and pulling out the water heater, they replaced the condensate line reinstalled the water heater and I was up and running in no time.True professionals with wonderful Service.The following day, I got a call from their Call Center following up on the service request, which was an added bonus. Thanks Again.

Jonathan came out for my yearly inspection of my AC. He was very professional by calling before he arrived and checked all areas in the house. He also recommended a surge protector for the unit. He had it in his truck so was able to install at the time of service. I was pleasantly surprised at his ability to be efficient to make sure everything worked properly. He explained everything well to me and took the worry away. He was able to do all these things within an hour. One of the best costumer service I have had at my house.

Justin replaced our garbage disposal and made some improvements to our under sink area. He was professional and personable and did a great job.

My AC/Heating system was installed in January. The thermostat was locked and I couldn't get it to cool down. When the July temp inside the house was hitting 82-84 and wouldn't cool down, I called the company for help as even following the instruction guide didn't help. They sent techinition, Elmo Acosta. He came that day, found that the thermostat was locked and could not be unlocked easily, so he replaced it and then checked the unit deciding to increase the fan was on low and set it higher. What difference! We are now enjoying life at 79 degrees.

My AC died at 5:00 on a Friday before a projected heatwave. I called and Terry was there within 2 hours! He was SO sweet, patient and understanding! He explained everything in a professional manner and it was fixed in 45 minutes!!! I am SOOOOOO thankful for ID and that they hire trustworthy professionals like Terry!!!

Everyone I have had the pleasure of interacting with at Intelligent design are great, professional and customer oriented. Emily at the office is always amazing to help answer the many questions I've had or get me the right person to talk to. The technicians installed the Amana unit beautifully and when above and beyond. The sales person spent so much time with me and answered all my questions. Paul and Amy were sure to register the warranty and get copies to me and make sure everything was done correctly. Tenea was an thourough technician and explained everything on how to change and care for filters to the reasons for maintanence and what they do. I really appreciated the time this company spent on gaining my confidence. My heating bill is a third of what was with my older unit to boot! Thank you everyone at Intelligent Design!

Previous owners of our house used this company for new AC. Since we’ve moved in, they have come for maintenance on several occasions at no cost to us. Recently they bid another unit and have been very helpful and responsive. They’re on the more expensive end but worth it in my opinion.

Our AC repair was provided by Kevin Green of Intelligent Design in Tucson. Our experience was excellent. He did an outstanding job of explaining the contract program which saved us a lot of money. We will continue to use Intelligent Design for the future. Thanks for a great experience.

Taylor Owen, we can't thank you enough for helping us get our broken HVAC system replaced. Kyle & Steve were here at 8:02 and done at about 4:00. They made sure that stuff previously installed in a less than ideal 😉 manner was installed correctly. Heat delivery throughout the house is much more even after they properly routed the ducting and the new furnace / air handler is working like a champ. Even though we have the temp set at 69F, lower than we normally keep it, the house feels much warmer. This will be the 1st summer we look forward to seeing how the new A/C works. Extremely happy, once again, with the ID team and how they have treated us over the years. Never tried to stick it to us or sell us anything we didn't need or want. Super happy with you taking your downtime to make sure we are warm and satisfied... bring on the summer🙂21 Jan 2022Kyle, Eric and Lo came out a installed our Air Ranger electrostatic filter system, replaced the compressor pad, and verified we were happy with everything in our new system. 100%👍🏻 Shortly after they left I noticed a electric snapping / popping sound coming from 1 of the filter assemblies. Called ID and they immediately dispatched technician Kage Moynihan out to make sure there was no malfunction with the unit. Kage gave it a thorough inspection and verified everything was functioning properly and there were no safety issues. Gave us a quick electrostatic 101 class, made sure we were satisfied with his evaluation that the system was good to go and reminded us to call anytime we had any concerns.Everyone we have dealt with at ID has been top notch. Courteous, prompt, diligent, and professional. They genuinely work to ensure we are satisfied with all aspects of the project.

Had the Amana split system installed and very happy with my decision to go with Intelligent Design. I was looking at someone else to do it for cheaper but in the end this was the right decision. The peace of mind of having a 99 year warranty is great and worth the money. Intelligent Design made the process very simple and very quick within a week of my initial consultation I now have my new unit installed. Thank you Intelligent Design!

Chris and Marty were VERY kind and very easy to work with. They also appeared to work very well together. Both were knowledgeable about the work they each needed to do. Chris understands septic systems and knew what needed to be done for the repairs on my system. They were very responsive to my requests when I had them. Their work was excellent as was their cleanup! I would not hesitate to highly recommend either of these young men and Intelligent Design to anyone! Chris had done work for me before through Intelligent Design and I was pleased to have him back. I will always request him! And if he needs a helper, I would welcome Marty back.

We had a clogged kitchen sink and called Intelligent Design whom we had used twice in the past. While at first they had no openings for days, the kind person we spoke with checked with her supervisor and they said they would squeeze us in for the next day. I was fully expecting to wait all day for the scheduled jobs to be completed, but got a call late morning from Marty who said he was 20 minutes away, I was thrilled. Marty arrived as promised and quickly assessed the problem, deciding he could work it from an outside clean-out. As expected in these times Marty arrived masked, we masked also. When Marty was getting to work he asked permission to remove his mask and that we distance ourselves. He got the clogged cleared in minutes and had us run the sink to ensure it was truly cleared. Marty was very personable, friendly, and highly professional. We were done in about 20 minutes and the price was extremely fair, with no adders or surprises. I certainly liked Marty and even more Intelligent Design which has fair prices and very capable plumbers.

Had them out to repair my old heat pump but found so many problems that we decided to replace it. This company has great work ethics. They are prompt, efficient and knowledgable. In one day they installed new unit, new OBD registers for the entire house, resealed duct to registers, fixed the frankenstein wiring on roof, put in new thermostat, hauled away old unit and cleaned up work area. All this, while being well mannered and conscientious regarding our family and home. These are top notch people working for a top notch company!

One of my air conditioners went out, I called Intelligent Design, and they came out the same day to fix the problem. So needless to say, fantastic response! The technicians that came were very good at explaining and showing what the problem with the AC unit was, which was both helpful and appreciated. I’ve used Intelligent Design in the past, and had a good experience with them at that time as well.

The technician was very courteous and polite. However, I did not get what I had asked for when I booked my appointment because he had to do his due diligence. He could not find any leaks which I already guessed and all I had asked for was to weigh the refrigerant and inject some dye.

Yes, this company may cost more it is well worth it. I sought their assistance for a small town home that is occupied by my mother. They were thorough, efficient, friendly, and very reassuring. I have seen a significant change in our heating and cooling costs (the previous system was woefully out of date). I feel confident that they will see to my mother's needs and questions in a timely, honest, and confident manner. While they are reassuring for my mother they are never condescending. I have recommended their service to several people and will for a long time to come.

I called Intelligent Design to come figure out why my south cooler was not working, They had worked on our north cooler previously and were very professional, so I called them. Jeremy Oliver, my service technician, was at my home within the hour. He was prompt, courteous, an extreme professional and went to work immediately to help us resolve what ended up being a costly issue in the best way possible. And to top that service, when he arrived, I was a little flustered because there was a HUGE snake in my garage. Without even skipping a beat, he grabbed the pole out of his truck and promptly removed a 5 foot angry bull snake from my garage. Talk about Full Service! These guys are the best. I would not hesitate to refer them to anyone.

My HVAC system started to break down on Sat night, Sun it was not operating, Mon was a holiday. I didn't think anyone would respond to a call, and definitely would not respond out on a holiday. Decided to call anyway to leave a message. To my Great surprise I actually spoke to someone! Zach said, Jonathan would be on route shortly. And he DID!! WOW. Polite, professional, knowledgeable. He called the owner, Andrew, who came out in an hour to go over all the options and price quotes. They have not done any of the work yet but I feel confident about the company history and the owner.

the technician was competent and pleasant until he started in on a hard sell regarding membership and a subscription to their warranty service. I told him I was NOT interested. He pitched it again. And again. And again. He wouldn't stop even though I firmly told him I wasn't interested. Also, he tried to sell me an electronic filter for $1400! Imagine! $1400 vs $8. Bottom line, just like the subscription service membership, it was not worth it.

I noticed my 13 year old water heater was leaking at 8pm two nights ago. I had to drain it to stop the leak which meant my family would be out of hot water for as long it would take to get it fixed. I called Intelligent Design after an online search showed they had rapid emergency services. I called at 6:30am and reached Sonya. She was extremely professional and courteous and efficient. I immediately got a text confirming that someone would coming by. Then I got a phone call from someone also confirming. Soon, i got a text with Joshua’s picture saying he’d be coming over promptly. He is very personable and knowledgeable. He immediately recognized a major installation error in my broken water heater, which caused an internal leak and had slowly corroded the insides away for the last 13 years. He explained my options in terms I could understand and kindly answered all my questions. He went over all the pricing as well. And we reviewed options for water softener systems after I asked if we could discuss those. He did the chemical tests on my tap water and was very knowledgeable. Then he got my new water heater delivered and installed in a matter of a few hours. He worked quickly and went above and beyond, even though it was very hot in my garage. We had hot water so much sooner than I thought we would. I highly recommend Intelligent Design. If you happen to get Joshua as the one who comes to your house, trust me, you will be delighted. He is awesome and I hope he’s the one who always comes to my house in the future whenever I need help with my HVAC and/or plumbing. Five stars for sure!

I just moved into my home a month ago and the previous owner had scheduled and paid for the AC inspection. The Service Technician, Jake Middleton, who performed it, was fantastic - friendly, knowledgeable, professional and very committed. He helped me to learn the system and gave me a number of tips regarding how to maintain it. If I ever need to have work done or for future inspections, I will most certainly ask for Jake. I am a retired Navy Captain and College Vice President and I would have Jake in my command or on my staff in a heartbeat. Thank you Intelligent Design for sending him to my home.

Several years ago we purchased a 30+ year old house that had the original heating and cooling unit. Our first summer here our electric bill was over 500.00! We kept hearing the intelligent design commercials on the radio so I did a little research, like what I saw and we called them to come give an estimate on a new unit. Andrew came out and spent hours with my husband and I helping us decide what would be best for our large older house. We decided on mini splits for each room and also purchased solar. The installation was a breeze. The crew of Intelligent Design was courteous, on time and clean!Once we were up and running our electric bills rapidly went down from 500 to 200.00. In peak season. we bank energy and usually only pay the taxes mandated and in peak season we hit 200.00 only IF we have guests in our casita. That unit is still old. SO....Intelligent design is coming out to replace that unit with mini splits too, so we will be completely energy efficient. We are life customers of this company and are happy to recommend them!

I wanted to have my air conditioning unit checked before the full force of summer hits in Tucson. I have had it checked out by other companies in previous years. I was surprised that the service manager Eric was the one who came out to my home. Eric was professional, friendly and very informative. Eric showed me (on my outside unit) that it was missing a hard start kit. He showed me the diagram from the inside of the unit and WOW he was right. It was on the diagram, but missing on the unit. Also, I was missing a shut of switch in my attic. (These are things ALL of the other companies missed!!!) Eric took a picture and showed me where the shut of switch should have been. There was a orange plastic plug instead. He explained why It is needed. I was very impressed with the work and professionalism provided by Eric. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!I just had my Heat unit cleaned and checked for the winter. Todd Sneed did a great job, very professional, polite and informative. THANK YOU SO MUCH. We had a deep drain clog at the home of my elderly parents, called Intelligent Design Air Conditioning and Plumbing after finding them as a certified partner on Rosie On The House website. From the first phone call to the time they fixed the problem and drove away everyone was kind, professional and efficient. Justin Wise was sent out very quickly and he couldn’t have been more helpful in fixing the (not so easy) problem as well as explaining things along the way. Cost was very reasonable. Arrival on time, he taught more than he sold. A full understanding of system. Design stage is to be modified due to the age of home and style. Communication on going and issues being address. In all Andrew and the other two techs were very professional and courtesy.

I called in because my ac had quit working and Zack got me on the schedule for a same day stand by appointment. James came out and diagnosed the system and recommended replacement. Zach the project manager come out the same day and gave us options for replacement. Every person I had an encounter with was very detailed friendly and very knowledgeable. We purchased the preventative maintenance warranty the last time that Intelligent Design serviced our unit. Todd Sneed came out to perform this maintenance and like previous representatives from the company was very knowledgable and friendly. We have been very happy with the service that we have received.

The technician came over in the Sunday afternoon and replaced the bad capacitor. Everything was fine and the service is good. The technician was very friendly. I bought the deal as $48 Heating or Cooling Diagnostic Service Call from Angie’s List and the part cost another $157.

Had a leak in the attic, started calling in an emergency...first place I called couldn't make it out and the first recommendation was Intelligent Design. I called, someone answered immediately and put my job on priority. Justin was at my door within an hour. Justin not only took his time and came up with amazing solutions, he friendly, understanding and provided the expertise I needed. He didn't just fix the leak, he went above and beyond to diagnose, offer solutions and fixed everything perfectly, up to code with no rush at all. Service was amazing! Highly recommend!!

We were so blessed by Kyle's visit today! He showed up and tested for a good 2 hours before giving us a great set of options in case we can replicate the issue we experienced this morning!

Justin was very friendly and efficient technician who performed the Water Heater maintenance on our Rheem unit. He explained how the recirculating system worked and also the reason why you need to replace the anode every 3-5 years. I would highly recommend him for any plumbing needs.

We called in the morning for an appt because our ac went out the night before and they worked us in that afternoon. Jonathan called before he came. He explained everything and took pictures as he was doing it to show me .He even took time to explain everything again to my husband on the phone . Jonathon showed me the bad part on the ac and how it affected it not working. I called and I was able to get an appointment for the next day for a consultation. Zack was incredible! I’ve never talked to someone with such a great attitude, and he has a story for everything! Had me laughing the whole time! He walked me through exactly what my options were, positives and negatives of each, and I even ended up picking the option I didn’t think I would (but is definitely a better fit for my lifestyle and home). When work started, Alex and Steve laid everything out for me. They were so professional, and everything looks wonderful! They were recommended by my family, and I would recommend them to everyone and anyone! Great company!

It was cold out, and the heat wouldn’t come on. Intelligent Design said they would try to squeeze us in on standby on Saturday, then called back and we changed it to Friday. James finished his other jobs and came around 5:15 Friday. He checked the system out thoroughly, found part of the thermostat wasn’t getting enough power, and traced that to a loose wire, which when he tightened the connection, everything worked! Simple, but it’s so nice to have heat when needed.

I came home from running errands to find out A/C unit wasn’t working. When it’s 105 outside you want your air conditioning working. When i called Intelligent design we were placed on an emergency standby list. James Cavanaugh came out within the hour. He quickly diagnosed the problem. He fixed the problem and double checked our equipment to make sure we wouldn’t have any other issues. He was also practiced very good COVID-19 protocols. We are very grateful to him for his help!

Rob the technician was prompt, knowledgeable, and worked quickly. I scheduled the appointment because my A/C was not cooling properly; he informed me of how another A/C company wired my capacitor incorrectly after doing a tune up last month, causing damage. He took photos and video to demonstrate the issues and informed me what is required to fix them. He took care to make sure the unit was functioning as well as possible before leaving.There is a Groupon available but it is for Maintenance, not diagnostics, just a heads up there.

Signed heating and AC maintenance contract last year, and now an annual plumbing check-up is part of the deal without additional charge. More importantly, had first check up today and John was professional, knowledgeable, and took his time in going through all interior water sources and the water heater. So far, my experience with ID has been excellent.

My wife and I really enjoyed meeting Larry and his representative company Intelligent Design. Larry was extremely nice, friendly, professional, personable, and very well versed in the knowledge of his business. We ultimately went with another company based on price alone. It was hard not to go with Intelligent Design because we enjoyed our interactions with Larry. Bottom line was about overall cost. But Larry did all he could for his company and we really commend him for his work and personality as a salesman.

They are incredible professional and courteous. I am a single female and called them after I felt another company was trying to take advantage. They confirmed that some of what the tech had told me was wrong and trying to get me to buy an entirely new HVAC. The other recommendations were sound, but optional, and they didn’t charge as much. They explain everything very thoroughly and are very helpful! They recently installed a new thermostat, and the tech was even nice enough to set all the programming and explain to me how the thermostat worked. They installed one that I purchased myself, so I thought that was extra nice. They also helped me find custom air filters for my unit as the standard sizes at hardware stores don’t fit my unit. I didn’t feel pressured to buy any maintenance packages or do anything I didn’t want to. I highly recommend their services!

I got the name of this company from Angie's list and a special deal on faucet replacement. I had a hose bib in my backyard that was leaking water. When Trevor came, he looked at it and said all I needed done was have the nut on the hose bib tightened. He explained that if they replaced the whole faucet, they would have to break into the stucco. Since I did not want that to happen, I told them just to tighten the nut. That fixed the problem. I asked them what I owned them, and they told me that since they were just down the street, the repair was on them. They could have charged me for the small repair, but they did not. That is what I call customer service. I see that I am dealing with an honest company and will use them again.

Called to have technician come out at 745AMThey schedules me in and a technician arrived at 1145AM. They had the new part they needed to replace on the truck with them....replaced it and were gone within 1 hour and AC blowing cold again! Both the technicians that came out and the two women I spoke with on the phone were very polite, friendly and professional.Stellar service at a fair price. I will use them again in the future!

Our service technician Jake was awesome. After listening to the issue and asking some questions he knew exactly what to check. He even took pictures to show me what was going on. Even better he explained ways we could save money and about other options that Intelligent Designs offers. When he left he gave me his card and told me that if we ever needed anything with our AC or Heater he’d be here. After calling Intelligent Design with a concern about hard water, they immediately scheduled an appointment to perform a diagnosis. Robert called to say he would be at my home w/in 45 minutes. He was on time, very professional and was able to determine my system had a valve not fully aligned correctly. He adjusted this, showed me what he did and why and did not charge me. Once again the staff of Intelligent Design exceeded my expectations.

I had a planned maintenance scheduled for a Friday between 12-3. The tech did not show or call, so I had to reschedule. When he came out the next week, he was only on the roof 10 minutes and said everything was okay. Customer service called the next day to see how everything went. I said good except he was only here 10 minutes. If that's how long it was supposed to take, then everything's good. To make sure he didn't miss anything and to make sure I was happy they sent out the service manager himself to service my A/C. I didn't tell them they needed to, they just did it to be sure. ID does whatever is necessary to make sure you are happy. Strongly recommended.

Justin and his assistant provided prompt and efficient plumbing service when the kitchen faucet was dripping. The problem is solved! I am very pleased with the service.

Started the summer off pretty rough with our ac suddenly making a loud rattling sound whenever it would kick off. We called intelligent design and they were able to have someone over the very next day. James worked very hard all day and identified the issue. Once identified, they lent us a portable ac unit while they got the job done. With paul and James help our ac is working amazingly and quietly. They were very respectful and felt as if we were family to them. We will be doing all our future ac business with them for sure. We are actually looking forward to the next maintenance appointment just to say hello.

Our problem was a leaking shower. Wes replace the old valve and return everything in immaculate condition. He checked the water pressure to make sure it was correct. He was extremely thorough and very well mannered.

I called intelligent design for some concerns I had with my piping. Logan and David came out only a few hours later, (which is incredible considering where I live) and diagnosed my issues in under an hour. They were extremely helpful, very professional, and friendly. I've experienced some truly awful contractors in the past, which caused me to distrust them in general, but intelligent design has helped change my mind.

So far we have been really pleased w/the customization process for our older home w/upgrade to what we need and wanted. Andrew and his staff are efficient at requests for more info, changes and scheduling. We are excited to begin!

The technician explained the problem with my old A/C unit and gave me the options on what I could do to fix it. He was knowledgeable and didnt try to just sell me a new A/C. In the end, the best option was a new A/C, but even then he suggested keeping all working parts. I felt like he was trying to save me money, and I appreciated that.The installers were nice, punctual, and easy to communicate with. I was please with the quality of the installation.The technician who replaced my anode rod was very helpful as well. I know how to replace it myself, but the price of the rod and installation was economical enough that it was worth having him do it for me.The last maintenance call was slightly less that 5 stars, but they are promtly sending out another technician to take another look at the A/C unit, so that makes up for maybe a 4 star visit.Overall I think this is a very professional company that cares about it's customers and it reputation. The quality of service is proof of this.

I had my new ac unit installed today from Intelligent Design, and Sammy was soooo nice. My 10 year old son was worried that he wasn't drinking enough water so kept shoving water bottles at him all day. Lol. This is our 2nd experience with Intelligent Design (they performed an emergency A/C repair for us in July) and they are great! Elmo came today, right on time, to install a Whole Home Electromagnetic Air Purification/Carbon Air Sterilizer System. He is a very professional, well mannered young man (we knew he was a good guy, because even the dog liked him.When he cam last week to provide a quote for the system, he thoroughly explained how it worked and the benefits. After he completed the installation today, he took the time to explain what he had done, including pictures of the components installed in the attic, and show me the simple maintenance needed to make sure the system functions at peak efficiency.Can't wait for them to come next week to clean our ductwork. They appear fairly large, organized, and successful. This indicates they must be doing something right. I'm an out of town landlord. AC on one of my homes stopped working. They were able to get someone there next day (other companies did not have enough staff to meet summertime demand), so that's worth a star. They got it fixed and running at a price that I guess is reasonable but I did not shop. No time to waste. Overall I was pleased that they answered the phone, booked the job, did the job, and did not try to sell me a new system. I also bought the annual service plan so they can do preventative maintenance. I don't want my renters dealing with failing HVAC.

The plumber, Chris, was so helpful. I had an old water softener leaking. Chris turned off the leak and rerouted my water to my house. At my request he gave me an estimate for a new water treatment system. When I told him I would be talking to another company this week, he was very professional and commented that they were a respected company. The other company gave me the option to lease a system, rather that buy one. This worked better for me to pay a monthly fee. When I called Intelligent Design to let them know I would not be using their services, they were very gracious. When my hot water heater, croaks, however, I will call them to replace it. BTW they did not charge me for Chris' services. They are just an all around class act.

They installed a Daikin mini split A/C system in my garage. They also provided service checks on my home A/C at the same time and then again in February 2017. I highly recommend the Serviceman who resolved my problem on the first visit. Very professional. Far exceeded my expectations!! Afterward, I accepted their free offer to check my heating/cooling duct work for leaks. They proved that I had significant leakage, so I accepted their offer to fix that. They came back two days later, fixed the leaks, then showed a Certificate of Completion that showed that before they started, my ducts had leakage the equivalent of a 22 square inch hole and when their procedure was complete, that had been reduced to the equivalent of a 0.5 inch hole! I'm quite surprised at how much quieter my system is - I'm just waiting to see how much lower my electric bill will be!!

We had a great experience with an Intelligent Design. We had a ceiling leak of unknown origin. Jordan came out quickly and was able to diagnose a water pipe leak. Justin was able to fix the problem quickly. Both provided excellent customer service. We will be using Intelligent Design for our future HVAC and plumbing needs.

I have been using the services of Intelligent Design Air conditioning and Heating since last year when they came to service my AC. I was so impressed with them, that I took out a service contract with them. They service my AC and heating and even take care of my water heater once a year. Thankfully, I have not needed their 24 hour services but based on the way we were treated during routine maintenance, I'm confident that any emergency situations will be handles with the professionalism they have already shown.

I have used Intelligent Design for years now. You could probably shop around and find a better price but they do full HVAC, and all plumbing. I have a completely new HVAC, new water heater, whole house water filtration, and recently had them come out and repair outside spigots. As mentioned earlier not the cheapest in town but worth the extra. Justin (plumbing) was great.

The entire crew was friendly, professional, and delightful to work with throughout the installation. I was worried about being outside with my kids while they worked their magic, but they couldn’t have been more empathetic. Super grateful and will be recommending them to others!

Kris the technician did a very comprehensive evaluation of the system and discovered some air flow problems that had kept part of the house uncomfortable. He corrected those problems giving a more uniform air flow. Checked the rest of the system and deemed it all AOK. He was on time and very personable. We had a water leak in our wall and Justin worked relentlessly to find the problem until 9:00 that night - then returned the next morning to solve the problem after trying several solutions. He was hard working, polite, and kept us updated and informed throughout the process. He was amazing!!

Our AC stopped working suddenly in August, so we called Intelligent Design to repair it. The repairman was great - he fixed the problem within 30 minutes and we only paid $250 for the work and the part that needed replacing. However, he warned us that our AC was over 13 years old and it might not make it through another summer (due to countless problems that would add up to over $3000 in repairs). Not wanting to be caught in the heat next year, we set up an appointment with a salesman. We had done plenty of research on the type of AC, the SEER level, and the tonnage we would need, and were very happy when the salesman did not try to lie or sell us more than what we already knew was correct. Due to this, we decided to choose Intelligent Design to buy and install our new AC. The salesman also informed us that the combination of the new AC with stronger SEER, the Anderson’s Windows providing better insulation, and the duct sealing treatment would all lead to AT LEAST a 30% reduction in our electric bill. This was another huge selling point.During the sales transaction when we were applying for a loan, the salesman told us there was two options: one, which was an almost guaranteed approval but a higher monthly payment, and another which was more difficult to get approved but a much lower payment. We were approved for the secondary loan with the lower payment, which we were very happy about, and they even took off the $250 for the repair costs. Then, we scheduled the appointment for the new AC Installation. Since we have dogs and cats, both of us wanted to be home to make sure everything went smoothly.On the day of installation, we woke up early and expected the installers to be there by 9:00. When they never showed and we never received a call, I had to call the office - and nobody knew what was going on because they had not even received our AC unit yet. We ended up speaking to a manager who was apologetic, and said he would call as soon as they received the AC. Thus, we had to re-schedule both the installation and the duct sealing (which we were told by our salesman had to take place a week later). On the new installation date, both the installation team AND the duct sealer came, and let us know they could do the process together. We agreed (but weren’t happy to have received false information) and the whole process took about 3 hours.Then the monthly payments ended up being the high amount that we thought we had avoided by choosing the second load option, and two months in we realized there had been NO change in our electric bill. These are huge negatives only because the salesman appeared to lie to us multiple times to seal the deal, which combined with the lack of communication from the company ruined the experience for us. We needed the new AC, and we got it for a fair price, but the added information that was not fulfilled and the lack of communication from the company leads us to believe this is not an honest company.TL:DR - Great company for repairs, not for buying and installing new AC Unit: salesperson made false promises and gave us incorrect information + lack of communication from company = you should look elsewhere for AC installation.

The technicians arrived on time to service our AC/Furnace as scheduled. Since we are staying for a long time, we decided to purchase a contract for 10 years and when the problems with our system were found, they were covered by the contract. They came right over to do a survey and ended up repairing the sewer with one of those inserts that they put in old pipes. Now it will never fail. Gave all the pertinent data. These guys came over at all hours to get this done. It was a tricky job.

Our A/C stopped working on Friday afternoon. We called ID first thing Saturday morning and they had a technician to our house by early afternoon. Todd repaired our A/C very quickly and he was pleasant and professional!

My heater went out during the few cold days in Tucson. I called intelligent design and they came out the very next day. The technician was very professional and knowledgeable. He checked the system out and determined it was a blown fuse. I had work done prior by another local company and they put in the wrong size fuse and they had blown. He checked the rest of my system and determined that the blown fuse was the only problem.He was honest and thorough. The cost for the parts and labor were very reasonable and I was not sold any unnecessary work. Drain cleaning Air conditioners in my neighborhood drain into bathroom sinks. My neighbor had his clog and another company convinced him to pay $3500 to clean it to the road. Dylan came cleaned the trap and said that should do it and it did. Cost $129. Today we had Jake Middleton, our regular HVAC Technician, out to check out our AC and Air Purifier. Excellent personal and professional service as always. Systems good to go, but will need new bulb for purifier and grease for bearings on AC unit in fall. Explained everything. Can plan ahead.Also had Robert out for Water Heater flush n plumbing inspection. Another top notch, trained professional. Gave good advice on some things to look at. I asked for an estimate on replacing a corroded connection on main n water system, and terminating a wonky plastic pipe with faucet low to ground from previous owner, and moving faucet to metal pipe out of wall. Great price quotes for the work. Intelligent Design does not try to sell you things you don't need or RIP you off like some other companies in Tucson.Regarding the negative comment by Graham,, there are 2 sides to every story. Without specific details on the size of house, types of units and what the customer wanted price wise to pay for, versus what would be best for a certain size house. We dont have all the story in this situation.We had an new AC unit and water purification system installed when we bought our house in 2015. We bought a simpler system for our house, due to cost, but one that would cool fine. We've had no problems working with Intelligent Design thus far.

AC broke at 9:30 last night. Called this morning and immediately received a call from the technician. He gave me an estimated time of arrival and showed up wellwithin the time we agreed on. He had my AC running within 20 minutes. The gentleman was professional and explained all of the necessary repairs. Our experience with Intelligent Design was excellent. We had one of our two A/C units stop working over the weekend and saw the great reviews for ID on Yelp and Google and decided to give them a call. Danny was the service tech who came out to our house (within an hour of us calling) and he diagnosed the problem quickly. He was very professional and courteous throughout the entire experience. He explained the problem and resolution clearly and went above and beyond to perform a complete inspection of the unit experiencing issues (and the furnace counterpart) and even inspected our secondary unit which was brand new and had been replaced a year prior (at no extra cost to us). He isolated another failing part within the same faulty unit that would have lead to more drastic issues in the near future. We decided to go with their 5 year maintenance plan which covered all repairs(parts/labor) that were performed that day. The price was reasonable and we were very impressed by the professional service provided.

Great service from this company. Scheduling an appointment was simple, and I didn't have to wait days or weeks for the first available date. I tried this company because I bought a voucher on Living Social. I would recommend Intelligent Design Air Conditioning and Heating.The voucher was for an A/C inspection and cleaning. The technician arrived promptly at the beginning of the time frame of the appointment. He was very thorough and efficient. He detected a charred wire on the A/C unit and replaced it free of charge. He also explained to me how that wire became charred and how a starter kit can prevent that from happening. I went ahead and had him install the starter kit. He did not push for this sale or pressure me into installing the kit, but simply provided his knowledge and expertise on why he recommended it.Aside from installing a starter kit, the technician gave our A/C unit a clean bill of health (it's coming up on 10 years).I've seen other A/C technicians from other companies at work at my parent's home, and they lack the professionalism that was displayed by our Intelligent Design A/C technician.

Andrew came out for his appointment for a consultation and was on time, he explained what systems were available and did the proper measurements on my home. He set up another time for us to meet and to discuss pricing options for each unit. He was very though with he assessment of my home and my needs. His prices where on par with other companies that I had estimates with, I chose Intelligent Design because they came highly recommended and they also showed professionalism that other companies I talked to did not.My installation experience with them was great, the crew showed up on time and ready to work, they started promptly and were polite and clean. I have no complaints with their professionalism or work ethic. They were able to get my new ac unit up and running in one day, they left my home/yard clean. We needed to replace our home AC and contacted Intelligent Design. The owner Andrew came out to talk with us on Friday and six days later we have our new unit and sealed duct work - we could not be happier. Called them out for a preventative maintenance check-up of our system. The tech that came out, Efrain, was on time and very willing to explain and demonstrate what he was doing and checking. He was careful with my system, taking care not to damage anything else around it. He was able quickly install a couple of needed capacitors during the visit.

Installed the solar panels and battery for our house and studio. I had most contact with Tyler and Alex who were fantastic. I was very lucky to have met them. Their rep came to our house, for solar a/c consult, and duct cleaning estimate. We applied for their credit. Within less than a wk, i have had 3 solar companies calling and asking for me by name that i requested solar information. If you cant trust them with your personal information, how can you trust them in business?

Our air conditioner stopped cooling in this 100degree heat and even though this happens alot when people start using there units after the spring, I called at noon and they were here by 5pm and worked till about 7pm. This the first time since I purchased the unit (6-2016) that Intelligent Design has been out to do a routine check on the unit. I was given a 4 year membership to their Diamond Club when I bought the unit. According to Elliot who came out, the unit should have been checked twice a year. Elliot did a good job, and was pleasant. I had to produce the paper work from the purchase to show my 4 year agreement, that they did not have.

These people really impressed me. After filing a service request on the web, I half expected to not hear from them......which is sooo common nowadays with emails for help and requests for info off the web. Instead, I got a call 15 minutes later, and 90 minutes later Angel was on my doorstep. He wasted no time figuring out my problem and had it fixed within the hour. We had discovered a leak in our shower that ultimately ended up under the slab. Intelligent Design, within days, was able to help us locate the leak and repair it, as well as upgrade the plumbing in both bathrooms and replace a water heater as well. Pricing was fair and I can't say that we encountered a single hiccup in the process. The guys were very professional, considerate, and the communication was outstanding. 05/31/20After calling other air conditioning service early on a Saturday, including the one I have a contract with, for emergency service, the others put me off until Monday. Intelligent Design was able to honor their 24/7 emergency service claim and within a short time, one of their technicians was at our home to check our A/C system, even though rain was imminent. Kage, the technician was personable and knowledgeable and diagnosed the issue soon and we were on our way to a resolution.Brett showed up the next day to discuss options and alternatives as our AC system was beyond economical repair at 17 years old. It's a bad time of the year for air conditioning problems but we were able to schedule a replacement of the system on the following Saturday. Installation went smooth and the only thing that remained was finishing up with a duct sealing treatment. Today, Saturday 6/13/20 Lo(retta) Hinojos and crew arrived on time and worked quick to complete the duct sealing. I appreciate the professionalism of all employees and staff members I had contact with. The system is working well and should be good for a long time. Thank You8/20/20Condensate drain running through the slab got plugged up and I didn't have the right tools to purge the line. Sensor in the unit shut down the HVAC until the drain obstruction could be cleared. Kage was dispatched to take care of our problem. He was working another job and kept us posted on his arrival time. Kage arrived and was able to get the drain cleared out. Kage is a good guy and gets the job done10/05/21Semiannual functional check for heating portion of HVAC system scheduled. All went well with Scott calling ahead to alert us to his arrival time. Scott arrived and went through the visual inspection of the system and then did a functional check of the heating system. All went well and we are ready for the next six months.

Rob inspected the HVAC unit on a home inspection. Found him to be very thorough and videotaped the unit so we could see what he found. The report outlined all of his findings and were helpful in identifying any concerns. Would highly recommend the company.

Jake was polite, as he has been on previous visits. I knew when to expect him because Jake called before his arrival. He was running ahead of schedule and asked whether my appointment could be moved up (freeing more of the afternoon for me). As he had on earlier encounters, Jake explained findings and answered questions knowledgeably. He offered suggestions without pressure. Jake was pleasant, professional and personable, representing his company well.

I've worked with ID for several years and they are always professional, I get the same techs almost every time (one for A/C, heating, and plumbing). I've had a whole house water treatment system installed, our duct work sealed, and they are installing a new HVAC today (old one was an over sized lemon installed by another company in town that took advantage of my father-in-law when he owned this house).

Elmo and Tanea were great, found the problem immediately but, unfortunately, could not undo the poor work done by our prior company. Very courteous, wore protective footwear whenever they came in the house, called their offices to see if there was anything they could do about the previous problems that weren't theirs, unfortunately they could not and did not expect them to be able to. Wished I had picked this company from the beginning.

Costumer service is outstanding. From the sweet welcoming voice of Brenda on the phone, to the awesome installation techs, Eric and Tim, our overall experience was great. We had Andrew visit us personally to get a quote for a new system and he quickly had us scheduled for install. The techs that came out were great! They were very informative every step of the way and I loved watching Eric show Tim exactly how things should be done. He really took his time and explained things to the new guy without getting upset or just trying to rush the job. They even interacted with my children instead of getting upset that they wanted to observe and were really just overall great genuine people. They were here to do a job, but they did it with great care. We are very happy with our choice to go with Intelligent Design.

We had both of our AC/Heater units replaced this week. James did a great job with the installation. We felt bad that he was in the tight attic on 2 of the hottest days of the year. The noise and vibration of the units has improved tremendously, to the point that it is difficult to tell when the units are on or off.

Very helpful service, honest and willing to work with me to fix my rusty and old water heater. I’ve worked with intelligent design before on my air conditioning unit, I decided to call them back for their honesty and reliability.

Elmo Acosta was great and very helpful. He was able to answer my questions and got me squared away (with a discount and financing) with the service I wanted. I had a good experience.

Brian was prompt, professional and took time to explain. Unfortunately doesn't make sense to repair our dinosaur, so getting a system bid from them.

When my wife and I were purchasing our house, we had an AC technician inspect the air conditioner. His report, in his awful handwriting, said little more than the AC is about to die. This seemed suspicious, so we started looking into a new air conditioner. A friend recommended Intelligent Design, so we gave them a call. They were going to come out and inspect the house and the air conditioner that was currently there.The originally scheduled time, the technician never showed up. They re-scheduled for a couple days later. The tech didn't show up then, either... so the owner came out himself to do the inspection.At the time, I was out of town. He gave me a call and explained all the measurements they did, the details of what they meant, and said that the AC could, if maintained, last 3-5 more years. As an electrical engineer, I could find very little wrong with what he was saying.After living in this house for almost a year, we got another inspection by them. Another technician came out and took several measurements. He didn't know the theory quite as well, but was still definitely quite knowledgeable. AC's in slightly worse shape, but still working. He was supposed to call half and hour before arrival, but didn't, which was also irritating.Ended up purchasing a maintenance plan because, eventually, it will die.Had a few somewhat irritating experiences, but definitely still recommend overall.

For years we had been loyal Hamstra HVAC customers, but when we needed to replace our system we decided to shop around. We ended up choosing Intelligent Design after they gave us a more competitive estimate and MUCH more thorough/careful consultation than the other guys. Two years later, I am so glad we chose Intelligent Design - our new AC and Heating system works like a dream, and when our thermostat suddenly stopped working, Intelligent Design quickly replaced it, no questions asked and no charge. We also have a maintenance plan with them, and every time they have come to our home they have been on time, friendly, polite, and ready to answer any questions. I highly recommend these guys!

We have been very pleased with this company, after going to Home Depot and requesting an a/c contractor. We recently purchased a home that had only evaporative cooling, as well as a propane furnace, and were looking to modernize the house heating and cooling.The sales person Derrek contacted us and made an in-home estimate, showing us various options and performing a seal test of the house. He was friendly, polite and not high-pressure!Within less than a week, we had a crew at the house, installing the system. They were very thorough and careful to not damage the home, and did not try to rush through the job. As a matter of fact, when it was getting late, 2 of the crew returned the next day to finish the installation and test the system. A special mention goes to Dean, who was one of the most polite, helpful and patient guys we have ever met.We were impressed with how friendly, approachable and down-to-earth everyone was. They took their time to answer all questions thoroughly and there was always someone checking over the work of their colleagues, to insure nothing was left ignored or unfinished.The system works extremely well and has made a huge difference. Yes, you can get cheaper bids from other contractors, but remember that you get what you pay for - be careful to avoid cheap equipment that will merely malfunction in a couple of years and cost you much more in the long run.

I have been a loyal customer for 2 years and my experience this week has fused my loyalty to Intelligent Design. My air conditioner capacitor stopped working and with one phone call their Technician Kevin was at my door 20 minutes later. When they were unable to locate a needed part Kevin brought in a portable air conditioner to keep us comfortable. When we discovered my house layout could not accommodate the exhaust hose, the owner Andrew, arranged to have us placed in a Comfort Inn Suite near our home and foot the bill. The unit is now replaced through financing that worked within my budget and is much more energy efficient! Technicians Jacob and Sammy worked from 8 in the morning until 6 at night through monsoon humidity to ensure my home would be cool and comfortable for the night. I also have a water softener system through Intelligent Design that has significantly made a difference in water quality for my family and appliances. I am grateful for the attention to detail, ability to work with my budget by offering different financing plans and the ways in which they accommodate personal needs like, finding a hotel that accepts pets. Intelligent Design has won my loyalty .

We discovered a continuous leak outside our irrigation box. Gabe Delgado of Intelligent Design visited shortly. He uncovered a very dirt union that was leaking, and did a thorough clean up of the problem.I find Gabe Delgado to be a very competent plumber. For instance, in August he visited our house to analyze why our kitchen sprayer was creating so much leakage. He uncovered that we had a serious problem with our home's Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) that was now over 15 years old. He replaced the PRV,, and the various water-flow anomalies in our house, such as the leakage at the kitchen sprayer, have disappeared.

James C. was excellent, positive, and professional. He demonstrated to us what the problem was and offered his professional advice about solutions for our A/C problem. He was very kind to our family and was able to do his job independently. We recommend Intelligent Design and especially James. We've now worked with them twice and have been pleasantly surprised!

Great Service, I had lots of questions as I was raised in the Air Conditioning business. Jake explained everything in great detail.They gave loaned us a room A/C to keep our bedroom cool-real lifesaver!They offer a lot of upgrades to consider and the sales end is well developed, so be prepared. We signed up for regular service checks.

Didn’t put the breaker back in on the outside unit, so it was straining to try a cool the without the compressor running. Did it do any damage?

The service person seemed very competent. Unfortunately, despite a 4-hour window, I waited an extra hour.The ID office gave me no notice until 10-minutes before the end of the window. Moreover, I got news that my AC coil was leaking, which is a major cost to replace. Yet 4 months ago another service guy from ID saw all the same symptoms of a leak but didn't put 2 and 2 together. Instead I paid over $1,000 for repairs and cleaning that did not get at the underlying problem. I've lost my trust in the company.

The technician, Todd was a pleasure to work with, in fact, he is the best by far, that I have worked with in the HVAC arena. He wanted to make sure I fully understood what he was doing & why. I only do the best when it comes to A/C because I breed poison dart frogs. So let me just keep this short and sweet. These folks are the most honest, hardworking, knowledgeable and friendly company I’ve ever had the privilege of working with. They literally saved about 100 rare frogs when my old A/C went! Our AC kept tripping the breaker around 10-15 minutes after we would reset it. One service manager came and replaced a part and we were very satisfied with his service. However, the issue returned. This time Reggie was our AC repairman. He checked everything before he gave us his assessment. When he talked to us, there was no BS. After implementing his suggestions, we have not had a problem with the AC. Many thanks to Reggie at ID AC & Heating.

May have been a great company but I did not like the jacked up prices for a new hot water heater and new main water line. The excessive prices were then discounted by 2 coupons, and then even a third 10% discount offered if I committed to their offer right then and there on the spot. Eventual price was close to one offered without gimmicks by another good plumbing company. Now that flat fee pricing has taken precedence over hourly rates this pricing practice assumes people are too stupid to know what kind of work is involved and how much time it takes and what the materials cost to complete the job.

Magnum came out to review our families AC. He is incredible to work with. He gave us a clear idea of where it is in terms of its life, what we need, and how they could help. I didn’t feel like I was getting presented services I didn’t understand and “needed.” Great service and professionalism!

The Intelligent Design team sent Rob to our house to deal with its intermittent heating problem and bad unit vibration. The roof-mounted monster was shaking our house. Although Rob's thorough trouble shooting isolated the probable failure, he presented all repair and replacement options to include current technology and future considerations. Kevin from Intelligent Design came out to diagnose my problem with my HVAC. He was friendly and professional.A few days before, I had a different company, Strongbuilt, come out to my house and tell me that my compressor was dead and that my fan unit was fired. The tech from Strongbuilt quoted me $2300 to fix the issue, and that was with the parts covered under warranty. The whole time the tech from Strongbuilt was pushing me towards a whole new system with prices from $7500-16000.I decided that for a problem of this magnitude I should definitely get a second opinion. So I called Intelligent Design, and was greeted by a friendly lady on the phone who was able to get a tech out to my house that afternoon even on a Saturday. Kevin called me to inform me that he was on his way and showed up right on time. Kevin was polite and professorial and after greeting me got right to work. He quickly diagnosed the problem as simply a burnt out capacitor. He had the HVAC running quickly and at a savings of almost $2000 from the quote I received from Strongbuilt. I couldn't believe my luck to have finally found a honest tech with integrity who wasn't just trying to rob me a week before Christmas.I am a Intelligent Design customer from here on out. They are a well run company with techs who are honest and have integrity. I would give more than 5 stars if possible...

I called Intelligent Design because my air conditioning was failing in the heat. They sent someone down the same day and now it's working perfectly. Todd really helped me out and was very personable and more than fair when it came to pricing. He showed and explained everything he was doing. If I ever have problems again I'll definitely be calling Intelligent Design first.

My husband and I were very pleased to have Charlie Birdsong who is very knowledgeable and customer service oriented come and trouble shoot our air/heating system. He checked out our entire system and explained everything to us in detail. We signed up for their maintenance program and are very happy to have found such a trustworthy company to work with.

We did not answer the question about whether we use the business or not because we are still in the planning phases. The plumber came out to advise us on how we might expand the kitchen which would involve plumbing and gas installation. He was friendly, professional, informed, understanding of our needs and ideas and clear in his explanations.

Reggie with Intelligent Design was extremely prompt and friendly, helping us get our air conditioner repaired. He kept in touch with us through the entire process, and was in contact with us immediately after we called for assistance. Reasonable prices and wonderful service, would definitely call again if there was any other problems with our AC.

Brent Lush replaced the igniter on our furnace. He was very cordial and professional. He was able to quickly identify and fix the problem. I would highly recommend Intelligent Design and also Brent.

We just had brand new air conditioning system installed by Intelligent Design. Dave Farley and the owner Andrew came out multiple times during the estimation process to make sure that our new system will meet our needs. They did the air flow test to determine the proper tonnage for the house. We also sealed the duct work and removed the swamp cooler to improve the efficiency of the system and to improve the air quality inside the house (for asthma). We went with a wifi-compatible thermostat so that we can fix the temperature if our autistic son changes the temperature (he likes to set the heater to 90 degrees or cooler to 60 degrees when he is angry). They sent multiple teams out on installation day and the installation took only one day even though we have 2 air conditioning units. Immediately after the installation, the reduction of dust was very noticeable. Now we no longer need to dust the house every 2 days! A month later, as planned, Dave came out and did the final walk through. Even though Intelligent Design is not the cheapest, we went with them because of the confidence we have on the air flow test, the no surprise policy, and the 10 years part and labor warranty.

The Intelligent D monitoring system showed our solar pannel inverter was not working. The nerxt day Matt inspected it and let us know he ordered a new one that would be installed under warrantee. We definitrly made the right decision going with Intelligent Design!

Chris was both professional and polite. Routine plumbing check on one property and opened the cleanout on another. Offered a valuable heads up on the clean out and said would deliver an estimate on this future work. Both the AC and Plumbing service is excellent.

We found Intelligent Design online and sent an email late in the evening when we discovered a leak. They called us first thing in the morning and were able to send someone the very next day. Intelligent Design is offering its warranty customers an electrical inspection. Tyler Weaks came to our home yesterday and checked outlets and smoke alarms. As are all Intelligent Design technicians we've encountered, he was friendly, polite and professional. He told us that we should replace our smoke detectors because, should we have a fire, insurance companies won't cover for fire damage if the smoke detectors are over 10 years old! Who knew??? Kenny is honest professional technician. My tenant called for the A/C was not cooling. Kenny checked the the system throughly and found everything was working properly. The problem was impacted filter causing coil to freeze. All what needed a new filter. I do appreciate his honesty to tell the issue was that simple. I know I’m in good hands when Eli comes to my house to maintain my HVAC system. He explains what he is doing, helps me better understand the system , and leaves the place clean as ever.

Kevin came to our house to inspect our 7 year old AC unit. He found a faulty installation and releveled the evaporator unit cleaned the drain line and cleaned the unit. He checked out the entire condenser unit and replaced a starter capacitor that was replaced with the wrong value capacitor. The unit was sounding loud and he found and retightened the clamp on the compressor heater that was loose. He did several things that were all under warranty. His knowledge and professionalism was way above what I was used to with the other company. I am happy to recommend these guys and Kevin in particular.

Trey and Adam called ahead to make sure I was ready for them. They were professional and very patient with me as I had a ton of questions. Will definitely be having future work done by Intelligent Design.

In an era of poor customer service these guys were outstanding. From the minute the call center rep picked up the phone to the techs leaving our house everyone was courteous, professional, and fantastic. My two year old even dragged one of the techs around to show him his toys, which he was great about. I can not recommend this company high enough.

Had Intelligent Design out previously to correct an issue with our Nest thermostat and they did a great job. It had been awhile since our last A/C service call so we called them and scheduled an appointment. Kyle B came out and did an excellent job and was exceptionally thorough! No hesitation to call them in the future or recommend them to friends.

I purchased my AC unit from Intelligent Design in 2013. The sales person was fantastic but I have had nothing but trouble with installation and service since. Unit came with 5 yr warranty. I recently had an expansion valve replaced (under warranty). My quote to replace the part was $2000. I was out of town when my wife called for service. She was completely taken advantage of in an emergency situation. She was charged 5 hours labor but when I questioned the technican about the invoice he told me it would only take 3 hours to do the job. They also charged us for a surge protector that they knew was defective when it should have been under warranty. It should have been a recall. Instead they insisted on removing it because it was faulty and gave me a new one for the fabulous price of $165. I spoke with a manager and questioned him about the invoice. After a lengthly discussion about work ethics he waived the labor and reduced my bill to $1600. I do not believe I should have had to pay anything since the part was under warranty. ALSO... the freon tested good but they told my wife that it had to be replaced.... $1400. They said that freon is not warrantied. However, my problem was my expansion valve which requires evacuation and recharge of freon. There was no reason to replace the freon since it tested good. Several AC and heating companies have claimed that Intelligent Design is one of the worst companies in Tucson. After this experience I would agree and will never do business with them again... If you use them, call for a 2nd estimate.P.S. Beware of Kevin -- the service technician who lied about the labor.

Intel. Design is a great, professional company that I have been doing business with for 3 years. Recently, one of my A/C's quit on me. I called Intel. Design and they were quick to come to my home and assess the issue and give me options. I chose to replace both A/C's due to their age. They had the new A/C's in and operating within two days. Their techs are always courteous and professional. I continue to recommend Intel. Design highly!!Expanding on the above review, on April 18, 2019, I called Intel. Design regarding a possible water leak in one of my A/C condensation lines. They responded immediately and determined that my problem was not with the condensation line. I appreciated Intel. Design's quick response and continue to recommend them highly!

James did a great job with our summer A/C maintenance. He showed up on time, discussed the results with me clearly, and was able to give me good feedback on follow-up service.

They made the whole process of choosing and installing a new AC unit so easy! Their design specialist was helpful and explained what all the technical things meant and what out options were, so we were very confident in our decision. As first time home owners that meant a lot, since we know our AC will last. The installation crew was prompt and quiet, and they did a great job. Our house is so much cooler now and we couldn't be more satisfied.

I contacted Intelligent Design for a plumbing problem for which Jared Smith did a complete assessment of all four bathrooms. A couple days later, I lost the hot water from one of the water heaters and Jared returned to discover a complete failure of the original recirculating pump. Today he did a beautiful job installing a new pump and I'm so delighted to have found someone I can trust to handle plumbing problems when they occur. He's also coming back soon to replace a faucet for me, and I shall be happy to recommend both Jared himself, and the Intelligent Design people for great service!

5/29/15 - Purchased an Intelligent Design Air Conditioning and Heating service check up on the HVAC. Daniel V came out completed inspection while discussing everything that was being checked. Very impressed that before items were checked/measured Daniel would state what type of measurement he was looking for and what would be a good, marginal and poor. Definitely the best A/C company in Tucson I've dealt with in my 10 years here in Tucson. Next time I need AC or heating repair Daniel V at Intelligent Design is whom I'll call.

**UPDATED**I have kept my original review below to show my change of opinion of this company. Andrew, the owner, called me less than 12 hours after posting my 2 star review complaining about the unexpected price that I experienced. He explained the costs of doing business and such and even offered me a full 100% refund. I declined and told him that I paid for a service and I am not about to take a refund to increase my rating of his company. If I did that, there would be no point in reviews.A few days later I got a partial refund in the mail and a letter. Andrew said that he conducted pricing research and found that his pricing was in fact, higher than competitors due to a failure on his part, update the pricing of his freon for the year. I know that freon prices fluctuate as well.Anyway, he sent me a refund for the price difference for the freon, bringing my total price to around $260 for the services provided by his company. Before the technician arrived, I told my wife to expect between $200 and $250 so I believe that now his prices are in line.That being said, since I now have nothing to complain about, I am changing my rating to 5 stars. The price was good, the service was prompt, thorough, and the technician was friendly.The owner not only made things right with me, but all future customers as well. Will I call them again? I have gone from a No to a Probably.**END OF UPDATE****Previous Review Below**I rarely write reviews but these guys deserve one. WAY overpriced!!! I had a service tech come out last week. Total bill for service and 2 lbs of R22 was $392. They charged $276 for 2 lbs of R22. The same R22 that sells on ebay for $215 for 30LBS! That means they, at most, paid $8/lb which means they marked it up over 1700%.I paid $150 for the SAME service from another company 3 years ago.I will not be calling again and I will be telling friends about these guys.

Reggie was very polite and knowledgeable and Explain everything to me of what he was doing and very fast with the work he done and told me of why the wires were bad on my A/C unit. I also bought a Serves Contract with them for the next 3 years which will save me money when they come to serves my unit and yes they come out the day I called them and I could tell you more but that's enough for now I am tried of typing

We have used Intelligent Design for a while now. Jake and his partner came to our house recently to inspect our A/C system. They were quick and professional, even wearing booties inside our house. I felt Jake gave us an honest assessment of our system without a hard sell that we have gotten from other companies after an inspection.

Update: I increased my rating from 4 to 5 stars after continued excellent service. My first experience was subpar, but their new team is incredible!I chose Intelligent Design because I respect the values the company stands for. To my surprise, my first experience with a tech was very disappointing. I wanted to give them a 2nd chance this year and I am so thankful I did. Jordan was absolutely amazing. 10 Stars. He was very detail oriented in his inspection, thorough in his analysis and explained everything in a very understandable way. This was the standard I expected from the company and he delivered. I'll update my review to 5 stars when I have more appointments to base it on, but I am confident after today that I will be staying with them for good..

My gas line had a leak and the system needed an upgrade. Through Angi, I was contacted immediately and Chris came out to access the situation. We agreed upon a solution that would be easiest and save money and materials. Other companies were slower to bid and/or considerably more expensive for the same work.The work was done quickly, but without a permit that is required by SWGas in order to reconnect my meter. Eleven days later, I am still without gas service, having been told by Chris that the inspection has been postponed. I’m not even sure if a permit has been issued.

I started out by calling 7 companies to get estimates. All are well known Tucson AC companies. Intelligent Design answered the phone promptly upon my calling. They were very pleasant on the phone and scheduled an appointment for me. They were right on time for their appointment. I was pleasantly surprised that for the appointment Andrew the owner came out personally . He walked us through the different things that would be done for the installation. They took the time to teach me about things like SEER and Tonnage and what they mean to me. Also they measured the house for the Manual J heat load calculation to figure out the new system size and gave me documentation from energy star and the US department of energy showing me why that process was critical to having the system installed properly. I felt more comfortable in purchasing from them based on the quality and value of the proposed system. Sales process was very educational and believable. They were out to install the system in less than a day from the purchase decision. The installation went flawlessly. I was very impressed by the meticulous detail in sealing the potential leaks in the mechanical area and how clean they left my house. I love my new system The new unit is so much more quiet that what I was used to and runs much less. I am very excited to see the savings on my energy bill. Thank you Intelligent Design for such a wonderful service and install experience.

(UPDATE 7-15-17) So after having to call out techs for the last 3 months for minor issues I was treated to a big problem at 1130 last night. Due to an improper seal during installation I am now enduring a rain leak from my ceiling causing damage to my drywall and other possessions. Every tech and supervisor (while acknowledging the issue) has completely ignored and failed to repair the problem. I have pointed out the issue many times and it has not been addressed. So now that I can confirm it's open enough for water, it shows a leak for my a.c. as well. Disrupting the efficiency of the unit as well as causing my electric bill to increase. I have placed a call to the company and we'll see if this can get resolved before further damage can occur.The process to get the system planned out and the paperwork for the financing was a breeze. They came out and did the walkthrough at a time that was convenient for me. The owner and supervisors did a great job making sure the work was completed to our satisfaction and doing a followup check. The installation crew got everything hooked up in a timely manner. They were quite polite and got the work done on time. All the scraps and boxes got cleaned up after the installation. I was walked through the maintenence of the system well and the operation of the thermostat. The system works great and it'll make the summer way easier.

My experience with intelligent design has been excellent! I hope you get to deal with both terry and Jake. Both are very responsive with great customer service. Use'em!

Update 4/12/18The serviceman was great. He was thorough in his assessment of my AC unit. Gave recommendations to keep my unit functioning in the future. He was courteous and friendly and arrived within the window as expected. Totally happy with the service provided.I originally purchased the $69 maintenance coupon for the AC. Danny arrived and performed the inspection whereupon he found both my capacitors were functioning out of suggested manufacturers range. He suggested replacing them before any damage could happen to my motors or compressors ( a much bigger expense!). He also gave me the pricing for installing a float back-up. This was to prevent an overflow in the water from the AC in case of dirt buildup, which there was quite a bit when he cleaned it out. I agreed to take a 5-year maintenance plan which included all these things and would cover all my plumbing too. I found Danny very efficient and knowledgeable. I did not feel pressured into purchasing the agreement it just made sense based on the cost of the items that needed to be replaced. I have a pool pump and have no real knowledge of the plumbing of my home as we only purchased it 3 years ago. Now I have a service for all my plumbing needs. Danny was very thorough in explaining these advantages. I am very satisfied with my experience with Danny and Intelligent Design and look forward to continuing this relationship.

Andrew was from the onset professional and personable, he took the time to design a system for our home replacing outdated 'contractor grade' unit with a Lenox system taking into consideration our solar panels on the roof and the amount of electricity generated off setting with a system that is highly compatible and affordable. Good communication from the main office all the way to James the installer. James spent considerable time and showed lots of patience in showing us how to use the smart thermostat. He worked fast but still took the time to answer all of our questions.

Albert was great. He was able to get us going with replacing our hot water heater and he even showed up 30 minutes earlier than planned (a good thing) He was able to fix what other people had done to our system and made it right, and when we sprung a leak in our water line just before he was done with all that, he hopped on it right away and fixed that super quick for us to without even charging us (Praise the Lord that we had a plumber right there when we needed him) Good Job Albert! We originally had a bid from another plumber to do the hot water heater that was about $200 less and they add matched on that so they’ve proved they are willing to do what it takes to get and keep their customers (I don’t’ think the original guy would have fixed our water line without an extra charge) Good business sense guys. Very well pleased!

The A/C at my home went down during the hottest days of this year. It is not a situation you want in peak season. I called Intelligent Design and their response was remarkable. By days end I had a new A/C and furnace installed and operating! The price is was more than fair and the install was first class. Found an offer on Livingsocial for an air conditioner inspection from Intelligent Design Air and decided to purchase it. What a great deal! No automated systems with these people. You get to speak with a real person, something I feel is a big plus in today's automated world. I received a call from the technician stating when he would arrive. The technician turned out to be the actual service manager with the company. After inspecting my unit, Eric sat down with me, explaining what the testing showed and the options that are available. Although I didn't really understand everything, which I knew would be the case, all of my questions were answered satisfactorily. I appreciated interest, concern and honesty demonstrated throughout the entire process. Was fixed promptly and he cleaned up as if he wasn’t even there. The area was spotless, including where the leaking had occurred. Great company, would highly recommend. We have been so pleased with every aspect of dealing with Intelligent Design, from the installation of our unit to their maintenance program. Our first maintenance was done by Todd Sneed who thoroughly checked everything out. Discovering one problem with the air purification system, he assured me the specialist in that area will soon get this resolved. Eric was very professional as I observed him taking the reading of the blowers and pressure on the compressor. He went to the trouble to explain how the unit was running and how to preserve the unit for future years. The company is very professional in their dealings customers and I highly recommend then for maintenance and sales and installation.Upon completion he took readings inside the home at vents to verify everything was operating at peak.

Intelligent design Maintenance program is invaluable. I had a few maintenance inspections in the past few weeks. Plumbing inspection was very thorough and Chris provided full explanation of what he was doing and why. He found an anode that that fully corroded in my water heater and not only explained that it needed replacement but what the anode does and why it should be replaced. My heating maintenance inspection was just as thorough and found a few items that needed to be addressed and thankfully part of my annual maintenance plan. All technicians have been on time and provided ample notice to ensure I could be home.

Larry showed up on time and ready to get to work adressing my A/C needs. He was personable, knowledgeable and professional. The quote given to me was quite reasonable and beat the others out of the water. Will be doing business with them soon.

Elmo Acosta came out to do routine maintenance on my Air-conditioner, while servicing our unit he noticed some corrosion on the evaporative coil. He also noticed the compressors starting amp started to rise. He recommended installing a coil guard for thecorrosion, a compressor saver for the starting amp draw on the compressor and also recommended surge protection for the home. He was very informative, very pleasant and professional. I always enjoy those who come out from this company. And so far they have had AMAZING customer service. They may not always be the least expensive, but for major purchases like this cheaper isn't always better. And the fact they are so customer oriented makes up for much of the cost within itself. Thank you guys for treating us well all these years.

Purchased a $69 one year plumbing service package. They contacted me within 24 hours to establish an appointment. Said they would call before their arrival, which they did. John arrived on time was very professional. Protected my home with shoe covers. Explained to me what he was going to do, he set to work and performed maintenance. (explaining and demonstrating as he went) Explained where he saw problems and what I needed to do to resolve them without pressuring me and estimated costs as well. Gave me helpful hints, Very professional through out the visit. Will definitely have them back and would reccomend them to family , friends and neighbors.

I got 3 quotes from the top rated companies in Tucson. They all provided several options to help me balance budget against quality and efficiency of the units. Ultimately, Intelligent design provided the option that was the best value, considering both quality and price, for me given how we use the system. In addition to the new package unit, I added on duct cleaning and an electrostatic filter. They scheduled the install right away and it was completed promptly. The staff were knowledgeable and efficient too.

Absolute lifesavers. Called with an emergency on a Sunday. Was assured my furnace was working after three service calls and several parts installs by another company. Three hours before I had new guests checking in for an extended stay I was notified heat wasn’t working again. Was unable to get any response from the heating company I had been using.Intelligent Design responded right away. Not only did they have a tech on the way within an hour, but Charlie had it fixed and running within what seemed like 30 minutes. They kept me informed throughout the whole process. An absolute huge relief. I cannot recommend this company enough.

Very poor information on readings or settings of A/C unit. Generic info given, not specific that a 3rd party (a retired A/C technician friend) can give an opinion of condition of unit or performance. . I paid over $100 more, to use IDesign and they only provided me very little details or pictures. I asked for them multiple times and they could not provide a full report that other A/C companies provide. This is after a couple phone calls to a service manager. I’d recommend using another company that can give proper information and save $100.

I recently wrote a review about an experience I had with Intelligent Design, and they were quick to follow up, own where they had missed the mark, and helped me spot a leak in my coil that the AC company provided by my home warranty had missed, saving me a ton! Although my initial experience with Intelligent Design was not the best, they listened to my concerns, and turned my experience around by being honest, genuine and thorough.

With 30 minutes after installation the system stop working. Jordan came over and show us the problem. We had to replace our entire AC system due to a bad compressor and after meeting with a few local companies, chose Intelligent Design. I have been extremely pleased with them at every step. The sales rep was super friendly, explained everything effectively, and was very communicative throughout the process. I appreciated his enthusiasm for the quality of his company rather than trying to win us over by belittling the competition. The install team was great - very friendly, clean, and professional. We also had a service issue about 2 months later and the technician was very patient and friendly in diagnosing the problem, then returning to replace a part as soon as it arrived (there was a loose bracket in the blower housing causing a rattling noise). The problem was completely resolved. Overall, I'm super pleased with the new system and the service I've seen so far. I would certainly choose ID again, although I hope it's not needed for a very long time :)I will point out two minor negatives, just to be fair. While waiting for the install, they brought a portable AC unit, which was great, but set it up in our living room to cool the whole house. We realized a day later that the unit was designed for a 200 sqft area and it was worthless in the living room. We moved it into a bedroom and kept the door closed, which created a nice little oasis. Also, on the day of install they actually showed up with the wrong outdoor condenser unit (a smaller unit that we had considered, but not what we ended up purchasing). I noticed this when double-checking the part numbers on the boxes as they were bringing them out from the truck. I'm sure they would have taken care of everything if the wrong unit had accidentally been installed, but I was glad we avoided that hassle.

We had a service tech come to our home first. They were very nice, informative & professional...so were the folks on the phone when scheduling, etc. We got a lot of good info from the tech, & soon there after scheduled an appt. with a salesperson to inquire about replacing our 20 year old system.The salesperson was helpful, and gave us many options for replacement. We eventually decided to wait until next year because of prior financial commitments. We especially liked that your company was veted by Rosie On the House & feel confident that your product & service is top quality.

Jonathan was wonderful. He worked so hard fixing our AC. Due to the nature of the issue, he had to work extensively for many hours. Despite the outdoor temperature and the very hot attic, he fixed our unit and it’s working great. Also he answered all our questions and still had a smile on his face. The original reason I chose this company is that they are veteran owned. I found out that a high percentage of their employees are former military. I come from a military family so I decided to give them a try. They were very profesional and courteous! I had a problem with my air conditioning on a weekend. They came at the time that was estimated. The technician was able to identify the problem very quickly and had it working again in a short amount of time. He then gave us suggestions to help prevent the problem again. He did advise us that it could happen again in a couple of days, and it did. Because of his suggestions we were able to fix it again in just a few minutes. I admire his integrity to give us the information that we needed. It saved us another call and lots of money!!! Based on my interaction with this company I would say they have high work ethics, integrity and A+ quality work. I would definitely recommend them!!

I was very pleased to meet Michael Matthews this morning. I received a text followed up with a phone call from him letting me know he was 5 minutes out. Michael came out and ran a diagnostics test and performed a tune-up. He heard what I had to say and understood what I was saying. He provided me with the details of what needs repaired and a follow-up next Tuesday with a project manager. Neal Maxwell was the service rep whom we had on 11/17/14 to do a complete heating/ac inspection of our system. He was not only professional and polite but took the time to explain what he was checking, the results or range of the test and what these had to do with the overall functioning of our unit. Andrew came out originally to talk about a ductless air conditioner for a room that wasn't cooling as well as the rest of the house. He spent an hour + checking my ac unit, the duct work, pressurizing the house (I guess that is what its called) to see why the room wasn't cooling. WOW - what he found. Leak at a junction box, leaks in the ductwork, leaks in the unit in the garage (no wonder my garage and attic were so cool) - not minor leaks either. Two previous companies didn't even mention the leaks, or didn't find them. I had 3 estimates done for this work. I was extremely impressed with the professionalism of Andrew, his knowledge, the time he spent with us and various solutions to the problem. We are not sure which route we are going to take yet, but I highly recommend this company. You get what you pay for. I can say from personal experience, research, research, research. May 23, 2015This afternoon we were in need of service and luckily for us we had someone at the door in about 20 minutes! Paul M. had our A/C up and running in no time. Very professional and friendly service! :DA month ago...We had the service man named Kevin come out and do our annual service check. He was very prompt and considerate and let us know what was going on with our unit and gave suggestions as to what might help the life of the unit. We look forward to continuing our service with them. :)

Excellent service and technician. They went out of their way to find a technician to come to the house to do an annual check as the technician that was scheduled had a family emergency and had to cancel. Last minute as it would have been a while before I could get another day off to schedule the tune-up. Highly recommend!

Danny van Eckhoutte did an excellent job at problem solving issues with my A/C unit. Very knowledgeable and informative on how the A/C should properly run and went over every part of the system, while also translating it in a way that I could understand. I definitely recommend Danny for any A/C related issuse.Had an issue with A/C unit freezing up. Called intelligent design had a technician out in a few hours. Jake Middleton was my tech. He was of excellent help I'm solving what the issue with the A/C unit. I had ID come and replace my AC unit last week, did a great job and very professional team! Today, Justin came out and inspected my water heater and system--answered lots of my questions and made great recommendations. Replaced parts of the water heater that have not been done in awhile--no SALES PITCH, but believed he offered suggestions and left it to me. Great service and very professional!

I had a major water leak that necessitated cutting off my entire water supply. The temperature was over 100F and I cool with an evaporative cooler, which then had no water supply. Other companies I called could not come right away, but Intelligent Design said they would come the same day.My repairman, Justin, showed up on time, and completed the job quickly. He is a professional with a warm friendly personality. I highly recommend both Justin and Intelligent Design!

Found them at the Home Show. Came right out to do an evaluation. I had three different a/c companies come out last summer because my air wasn't working right. I had some solar company come out to do an evaluation and didn't like that he wanted me to sign for a deal and didn't even leave an estimate. These guys crawled under the house to check the duct work to find the problem. I had the most contact with Jason and he rocks. They explain things and all the workers that came to my house were professionals. Since I'm new to the area it took some time to find the right company to replace my system. Glad I went to the Home Show and they were there.

Reggie Phillips has been servicing our A/C unit and has made some adjustments so that it will perform even better than it was. He is extremely thorough and takes the time to explain what he is doing and why. He spent a lot of time going over the system to ensure everything was working correctly. He took a look at our router which was having a problem connecting to the thermostat. He replaced the thermostat but that didn't work so he made a call to Texas for tech support in order to fix the problem. The service that Intelligent Design provides to their customers is amazing. Reggie Phillips makes sure you feel like a customer not a number.Another great service tech named Danny, did an outstanding job as well. Just like Reggie, he took the time to make sure everything was working correctly and explained what he was doing and why.If you are in need of a new A/C unit or just need your current unit serviced, Intelligent Design would would be a great choice. I greatly appreciate the professional service we continue to receive.

The service was very quick and the technician was friendly. The bill was not itemized and only took about a half hour with on startup capacitor change and cost $540 which seemed quite high for the time and part involved. The non itemized bill along is worth one star and they refused to give a hard copy. Also the only part replaced is online for $21.95.

The whole team has been very professional, efficient, and responsive. Taylor, Sammy, Scott, Paul, and others. This company is A+++ in my list.

I found Intelligent Design Air from Rosie on the House Radio recommended contractors list. I was having high electric bills and had been trying to get my TEP bill lower. I called Intelligent Design for an energy audit. The lady who answered the phone was very pleasant and scheduled me for the audit at my convenience. Andrew came right on time for the appointment. For the energy audit he used a thermal imaging camera to identify insulation issues and also depressurized the house to test for leaks in the home exterior and duct work. When he crawled in the attic I went with him and we saw the leak issues in the ducting and that the ducting was put in 25 years ago and was falling apart. I chose to replace the attic ducting with new up to date ducting and have it sealed properly. I am excited to see the pressure test results after the installation to verify the success of the installation. I am very happy with the recommendation from Rosie on the House and I highly recommend this company for energy audit testing.

Todd Tracy did check of our 2 AC units and did an outstanding job. He was very thorough and clearly explained what he did for the inspection. It was the best AC tune-up we have had done on our units in recent years - including better than previous iDesign tune-ups and repairs.

Very happy. I've had other companies out to repair our mini-split in the past. Their repairs never lasted. 3 months later we had the same problem. Intelligent Design identified the actual problem and fixed it right rather than just making a temporary fix. James is very professional and fixed it right.

Made an appointment weeks ago for a yearly service today. Chose this company because of the overwhelmingly positive reviews. Have limited time availability for contractors due to my work schedule- out of town a lot, so I try to gang them all into one day. Example- I have four contractor appointments today.I got a call from Intelligent Design at 8:45 this morning asking me:When would be a better date for your appointment?Me- Huh? TODAY, please.ID- Well, we have numerous no cool emergencies so we need to reschedule you.Me- I have limited availability and need it done today, I'm available all day today. Can you reschedule someone else whose schedule is more open?ID- No.There are always and will always be emergencies. Leave time in your scheduled for emergency calls. Why do you make someone else's emergency into MY emergency? This is not a good way to do business. I would have been a very good customer, now I am a very dissatisfied one.

They installed an ac for our condo. Being honest, the install was good but there was an issue with the wiring. James was able to come out and figure out the issue quickly and relayed the fix higher up so that the problem could be addressed company wide. Thank you.

Had a BIG leak at the water main on a Friday at 4:30 pm. Cori got there as soon as he could and couldn't repair that night, but was back bright and early Saturday to fit a temporary line.He came back to finish the repair quickly and professionally. Technician arrived on time - he was most efficient. He checked everything out with a minimum of fuss. All was good. I've been pleased with every technician who has come to my place from Intelligent Design. The front office is responsive and easy to work with. I am sticking with these folks!

I contacted Intelligent Design because of a special with Angie's list. They came as promised. Clearly described the problem and options to correct. Thoroughly answered all questions about tankless water heater. John and Kristopher were professional and provided options. For years we had been plagued by hot rooms in our house. A diagnosis led to a plan for correcting. I look forward to a more comfortable summer throughout my house.

The repairman was very professional, respectful and took the time to explain everything. However, I am changing my review to 3 stars, because upon doing more research after the fact, I feel that they over charged me for what was done. I also later learned that it is frowned upon for them to be offering $10 off your bill for leaving a review.

Taylor, our sales rep, did a fantastic job of designing a system for our home. We had the job quoted out, and Taylor was the only one that actually took the time to make the proper measurements so that he could identify the proper sizing for our home.Though I don’t remember their names, our installation team was also fantastic. They made sure every request that my wife had was taken care of. They were very careful and really took their time. I’m very particular when it comes to something being done the right way, and they knocked it out of the park.Great job guys! I’d absolutely recommend you to anyone that needed maintenance, repair, or brand new units.

We spent $15,139.00 dollars (yes, over fifteen thousand dollars) re-doing one of our units. They came and painted such an amazing picture of all the wonderful things their equipment was going to do for us and how great the company was. Within the year it stopped working properly. We called them and they said that we were “too far and not ‘conveniently’ located. Call someone in your city”I am only writing this review because we have another AC company here for the second time and the consensus of the two companies that have come have said the same “the Unit was not properly installed” adding to this visit “and it’s closed to failing.” For that much money - you would think the unit would last more than 3yrs.

1/31/16Intelligent Design Air Conditioning and Heating. I would name them Incompetent Design Air Condition and Heating. Now going by Intelligent Design Cooling, Heating and Plumbing.My experience first started in July of 2015 and as of January 31, 2016 has not yet ended. At the time I called for service. Tom was the person I contacted. He was a person my brother knew from the construction industry and he always took care of me because of my medical issues. The company came out right a way and determined the old system needed to be replaced. Once again a heart-ship being on a fixed low income. Tom said they had a 4 ton unit he could give to me at a really good price because they had installed it wrong on another house. It should have been a 5 ton they put on that other house. That should have been the first sign. It still took several days to install, so I stayed at my daughters house.After installing the unit and a day later I went outside to inspect the unit. As it is ground set. Before they brought out the unit I asked if it would fit on the concrete pad the old unit is on. They said yes. The new unit hangs over the concrete pad it doesn't fit. Then I noticed a screw missing in the cover panel as it was open on one side. The fan on top was vibrating when the unit would run and cold air was leaking outside at the supply duct. Called Tom and he had the guys back out the next day. They had to take the whole unit apart to seal the duct work from the inside and fixed everything but the concrete pad that is to small now. At that time they were also going to switch the heating system from natural gas to propane. Tom said they had to order the part and could they replace it in October before it got cold outside. I said yes. Another mistake.The end of October I call Tom but only to get answering machines. After leaving several messages and several days going by I call the company and come to find out Tom isn't there anymore. But the guy I talked to said he remembered the deal and he would have the Field Supervisor call me. Several days go by and I call again , The office girl said she would have the Field Supervisor call me. Finally she called me back and said they would order the part. I told the Tom already did. She replied they received the wrong part. I was told it would take 2 - 12 working days. 14 Working days I called back. Wrong part again. They will reorder it again. So after I decided to right a review on Angie's List. Wow I got a call the very next day. Jason the General Manager said he would take care of everything. He said they would order the part and have it in two days. The second day he called and said it would be in the next day and they would install it that day. They did.Jason then wanted to talk about what would make me happy for all the trouble I went through. He suggested a 5 year service contact. I said no because I was thinking of all the trouble I just had. I suggested a partial refund of 10%. I thought he was going blow a gasket. We finally as he put it made a gentleman's agreement for $150.00 if I was to remove the bad feedback. He is not a person of his word, the check is in the mail and the bookkeeper was stealing company funds. If they hire people like that I don't want them in my house.So here is the true review which is what Angie's list is all about. The one I should have left to begin with. Don't let companies bribe you or con you into anything but the truth. We owe it to each other. Makes you wonder how all the good reviews were achieved.Sincerely, Randall Jakimowich

I did not enjoy the experience with intelligent design. The process felt like I was trying to buy a car from a used car salesmen. The “free quote” process felt as if I need to just sign the deal to get it over with. If that’s not bad enough, when I called the salesman to let him know I was going with someone else I got an interrogation of who, why and how much. If you are fine with pressure to purchase then this company may be fine for you. If you are not then you may want to look somewhere else. I cannot comment on quality of work because I used someone else. I would not recommend

The intelligent design rep who assisted me with my new home air inspection was very very helpful during his first check. He told me everything I needed to do and where to buy what I needed and sure enough we passed Inspection on the second visit. I called Intelligent Design in the morning and asked if there was any hope of a service call on the same day. The service rep asked if the situation was an emergency and I had to honestly say no. They has several emergencies at the time but they would try to get to get a technician out. At approximately 4:00 PM two technicians were at my door. They took pictures of the problem with the ac unit so there was no doubt of the reason for the failure. They had part they needed and the air conditioner running in 20 minutes. The Techs were just great. The price of repair was reasonable. They had to clean the evap coils and replace the inline current controller. I will of course call them if we have another problem with our A C

Update: 30-45 mintues after I leave my review the owner called me. He asked me questions about how I fixed my A/C unit and promised me he had fired the technician that performed our A/C service because all the complaints he had received. Then, he promised to refund us the money from the service call. It has been over a week and no refund.We bought the house a couple of years ago. We an A/C company come out and service the first 2 years we lived here. Then, I decided to Intelligent Design because they installed the unit. 3 weeks after they serviced our unit we started having issues with it. They replaced a part for it. The following year they service it again and again 3 weeks later it starts having issues where the AC blows hot air. Then they came and quoted us $4500 to replace a part. We decide to have someone else look at it. The one part Intelligent Design said was bad actually wasn't and he noticed the indoor unit was way oversized and incompatible with the outdoor unit which could cause major issues. Intelligent Design had installed both units. The other inspector was busy so he didn't have more time to troubleshoot so I started to. I found the $60 circuit board was bad and replaced it. My air conditioning is back working was good as it did before Intelligent Design ever touched it.

A heat pump installed by Intelligent Design less than 2 years ago suddenly stopped working. Since it was still warrantied, I called them, and one of their technicians, Reggie, quickly responded. After spending a total of more than a full day attempting to get the unit to work, he determined the cause of the problem.Upon contacting the manufacturer, Lennox, he was told that it would take about a week to obtain the part. Reggie informed them that the customer (me) would not wait that long, and requested a replacement unit. This was, in fact, furnished, and installed the following day, After about 3 weeks, it works perfectly, in fact, better than the original unit. Great service, very responsive.

Jared is a thoughtful, considerate, thoroughly professional technician that addressed my plumbing issues and offered up a variety of solutions. He answered every question I had about each repair and was so patient with my requests. I would recommend Intelligent Design for any ac, plumbing or solar job. They are fabulous!

We hired Intelligent for a plumbing emergency - sewer water was all over the house, and we were panicked. We got several quotes and what we liked about Intelligent Design was their honesty in terms of what needed to be done ASAP vs what would be a problem down the line, vs what would be a nice to have. We have cast iron pipes that were over 50 years old, and it's expensive to have them resleeved, so we appreciated the honesty, rather than other companies trying to sell us on doing everything now. CHRIS, the manager on our project, WAS AWESOME!!! He was honest, smart, laid out the situation and options clearly, and we felt we were making the best decisions for our budget and our house. His team was just great - good energy, and care about the job they do. One guy they call the gopher because his specialty was tunneling into small spaces - it's funny, yes, but this man saved us from ripping up a bathroom floor by tunneling from the hallway. PRO TEAM. I gave them a tough deadline to meet, because I had guests coming in, and they worked till 10:30pm to make sure they met the timeline, with time to spare. I couldn't recommend them more - trustworthy guys.

After a lightning strike very close to our house last night, our AC stopped working. James came this evening, at the end of his long workday, to see if he could get us up and running. He was honest, professional, and efficient. While our system was badly damaged, he was able to get us running enough for the night (and hopefully a few days), until we can make arrangements for a new system. Have used Intelligent Design a few times now, and always find them responsive, fair and honest.

Johnathan was the service tech today. He came out to respond to a noise from the fan motor. Diagnosed the issue, called to check on the replacement part & kept me informed each step of the way. Once he returned he installed the new part & right now our system is back to working well again.

Jake from Intelligent Design came today to repair a condensation drain pipe. Jake is VERY knowledgeable and efficient . He also checked the indoor coil and pan . The unit is running proficiently. I am truly happy and grateful and do recommend Jake highly!!UPDATE:I had a plumbing inspection with Logan, he was on time and very polite. He cleaned up his mess after, and identified that my water pressure was too high at 85 psi. He installed a pressure reducing valve and a new ball valve at a very reasonable price and i look forward to doing more business in the future with this company.

Recently had Intelligent Design out for preventative maintenance on my air conditioning unit. Kevin arrived on schedule and was very professional and knowledgeable. Today we had Tray come for our HVAC - it was making noises and driving us crazy. It was making a very loud noise at shut down. He was always here when he said he would be, he did the job perfectly and used extra manual labor so it wouldn't cost as much - he cleaned up, carried out, and was a joy to have in our home. We had a bad experience with Cummings plumbing that wanted us to buy a whole new A/C and we're dishonest about things. Intelligent Design Air Conditioning was very honest and realized what happened and turned out just to be the thermostat. Saved us over $3,000. I will always be thankful for that.

They replaced a leaking outdoor faucet. I was pleased that he used a faucet that in future can have its washer replaced or even be replaced entirely, without further soldering. However he splashed flux or something onto the wall, and this won't come off with regular detergent. It will be a very expensive repair if the house has to be repainted because of this!

We were referred to Intelligent Design by my parents, who had an awesome experience from start to finish with their A/C planning and install. My dad is very particular with whom he hires and did a comprehensive search to find the best company out there and found ID to be the one with the highest satisfaction and ratings. Intelligent Design is a top notch company that values their customers. My technician, Jake, was courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and punctual. Jake puts the customer first and is great at explaining what he is doing as he works. I found Intelligent Design at the Tucson Home Show. Juan came to my home 3 days later and arrived on time dressed and worked very professionally. He tested my air conditioner and furnace and needed to replace a relay and controller at NO COST. I signed up for an annual services contract for $8.88/mo. Based upon my experience with Intelligent Design, I strongly recommend their services.

I first spoke with Brett from Intelligent Design a year ago to go over my options. I had two A/C units in my house; one just broke down and the other was on its last leg. He gave me my options, was honest, did not push me, and even let me use a portable A/C while I thought about it. I finally got sick of the heat and had Intelligent Design come out and install a single unit, run a new duct (between the two old units), and seal the inside and outside of the duct. The team was great, the work was professional, and I'm loving my new, cool A/C unit and Ecobee thermostat. Great people, great work, would recommend.

When he arrived he never made me feel like I was a customer. He preformed an ac check up, This is an OUTSTANDING company to do business with. I give them an A+ for knowledge and professionalism.

Marty Hudecek and his partner (also Marty!) came by our place to help us locate and address a leak that was making the house extremely difficult to stay in. Extremely professional, really easy to talk to, and clearly highly experienced. Before Marty we'd had four or five other people come out from various HVAC / plumbing companies who either 1) didn't spend much time diagnosing, or 2) didn't listen when we told them the patterns or contributing factors. Needless to say they all gave their answers and none of them solved the problem.Marty and Marty came over, did a very thorough investigation all through and under the house, listened to us, walked us through each step, and eventually discovered a tiny little automatic vent that had stopped working due to age. Marty explained how it was supposed to function, then showed me how it was no longer functioning properly--then directed me to a Lowes for an $8 solution to this problem (he was happy to install it himself, but was looking to save us money since it's an easy install). Compare that against the thousands of dollars of various repairs all the other guys had suggested, and Marty is our go-to-guy from now on.Putting in the vent was easy as anything, and as of right now seems to have solved the problem that nobody else was able to even identify. Rock on, Marty!

Jonathan just came and installed a new thermostat for us. He is such an asset to this business. Very bad experience...they charged a crazy amount for a capacitor and it didn't fix the issue.We ended up deciding to replace our heatpump and asked for a quote. They had a nice car sales type pitch and we never got a formal quote. Just a verbal one that offered a lower quality option for 6-7k more than we ended up going with from another company.Be careful and don't get sucked in. Very pushy.By the way the company we went with did the load calculation!Sad that some people take a unfair amount of a family's hard earned money.Update: the capacitor price mentioned below would have been a great deal. I know now it was a real rip off. We have a top brand 19 seer variable speed CU and airhandler. We got 5 or more quotes and what we were told is the difference above... I guess free.Some others were just the same.Goodluck and shop around.

Magnum went above and beyond to show us options with our HVAC system. He is super thorough and a wonderful communicator! We feel like he has our best interest at heart for sure. He made sure we were apprised at all points as to what he found and made sure we spent time with him to see for ourselves what was going on with our system. We have a 30 year old system that is hanging in there but needs some TLC for a coupe more years or a complete replacement. No hard sell at all and even a conservative approach as we continue a childhood home renovation. We have an electrician and plumber coming in next and hope we have the same thorough investigation into what we really have going in a 50 year old home. Impressed with this company so far!

Our a/c quit working and we needed it fixed pronto! My girlfriend did some research and found Intelegent Design and they have rave reviews on Angie's list. She made the appointmen and Brent was our service person. He got the system up and running, warned us about future problems, and told us about a way to get a new, improved system financed! We decided to try this company for the first time because we had just used another company one month earlier and some existing (possibly undiagnosed) problems began to reoccur. Our AC was working good except would not function properly during the hottest part of the day. We felt like we needed an additional assessment.This was the first time I've ever had a tech actually mention and be able to explain why several electrical components required replacement. The components had fallen out of tolerance and even though were working intermittently, they were in the process of failing. I appreciated this and I also believe this indicates that the tech had actually made the proper electrical measurements during the initial inspection. The various costs seem more competitive too.Thanks for a great job JP!

Service Tech (Elmo) has come twice a year for the last couple of years to service and/or repair our AC unit. Each time he has come he has been very professional. He is polite, respectful, knowledgeable, friendly, provided us with information to continue to maintain the AC or improve its performance.

Kage is a cool guy to work with. Not his first visit to our home. He is willing to answer any and all questions with patience(I'm a retired engineer so can come up with doozies for questions). If he's doing something out of the ordinary, such as updating the furnace software today, he lets us know what he is doing since the software takes time to update via Bluetooth. IDAC&P has a great system where I get a text message with a picture and name of the tech who will be coming as well as a little bit of personal information about the tech.

The AC that I had purchased from Intelligent Design stopped cooling last night. I called and a service technician was sent out. He checked out the system and the only issue he could find was a required critical software update was needed so he completed that and then stayed around until the system had run a good 15 minutes so he could do a few more tests to verify everything was good. They are always friendly and helpful. I recommend their service.

Stacy is a very good saleslady. But that's just it. I think the tactic is to make it seem like no other companies know about AC systems but them. She took up THREE hours of our time. I didn’t use the company, as they were priced way higher than my price point..Update: The company is WAY overcharging for units. The LOWEST quote they gave me was like $25,000. COME ON. It's a 1900 SF mobile home. The one I went with was MADE for manufactured homes, and cost me $7500. I wouldn't suggest using this company.

Highly recommend and would use again. Had a variable speed blower replaced last winter and a summer tune-up service call before the heat hit this year. The tech was very knowledgeable and made several good-faith suggestions without coming across as a salesman.

The repair tech, James, was very professional and friendly. Unfortunately it appears that he did not put much effort into checking if the system could be cleaned and continue working for years to come (the system is 15 years old).He got the system operating again (reset the pressure limit switch) for free and gave me a repair estimate with a price of R22 at $250 per pound. Two other AC repair companies that I've talked to since then told me R22 is $125 to $150 in our area. It feels like his repair estimate was designed to force me to replace the system and use their company.

Intelligent Design installed a new 5 ton heat pump package unit for me in Dec 2014. It was New Years Eve, and I had no heat with a pending rain/snow mix on the way and a freezing cold house. They showed up right on time and as they finished up, the temperature outside was dropping rapidly and it started to rain. The house warmed up as the temperature dropped outside. We had snow that night but I was finally warm after a week of going to bed freezing. The unit has worked perfectly ever since, and Kevin just finished a PM, preparing for A/C use in the spring and summer. The service and value I have received from Intelligent Design have been outstanding. I recommend their services, and would use them again.

Just had Neal out to do a PMA on our new equipment. Very knowledgeable and personable individual. Neal continues the trend on positive and knowledgeable technicians that we have worked with at Intelligent Design. This is a very good company to work with.

Called them out to check on my heater. Immediately went in to how old etc the unit was, how this and that can go bad, and so on. I knew all of that already, but my primary concern was getting it to work, which it had been intermittently, that is until the first Tech left after being unable to diagnose it. Coincidentally, it didn't work at all after that, so since he'd talked me into a monthly service/discount plan already, I called them out again.Now comes the second Tech, who spends about 5 minutes on the roof and immediately diagnoses a bad gas valve. After I saw his bid of 1000 dollars to fix it, 800 for parts that I can buy myself for around 200 bucks, I decided to shop around. In the mean time my wife had them out to bid a new unit.Wow, I thought they were trying to gouge me for the repairs, then came the unit. Anytime someone bids by monthly financing I'd suggest you run for the hills. First unit, 23000 after ten year term (I live in a 1000 square foot home btw), second unit, the economy version was 12000. 17000 and 8500 were the cash amounts if you were wondering. The bids included nothing more than price, literally no labor, unit, parts, or even model number. Just: you pay this much lol!! I even asked for a breakdown and the guy said he didn't have access to that type of info!So, as I'm sure you guessed by now, I also ran for the hills and called a referral from a family friend. He found the actual problem in roughly five minutes, turns out the valve was fine and the ignition module was bad. His price for repair was 270 all said and done.Just for future reference I asked him to ballpark a new unit, he said from 4 to 8000 with 8 being the best equipment money can buy. I showed him the bid from these guys and the look on his face was almost worth the wasted money for the first two visits they made. I gave them two stars cause the staff was nice at least and they took care to wear those dust covers on their shoes.So, unless you want to pay twice as much as you should, I would suggest you stearate clear of these guys. I don't like leaving bad reviews but felt it necessary since we had them out based on the good ones. I feel like I got cheated out of a couple hundred bucks for service that was only intended to stear me towards a new unit.

I was asking in Tucson Craigslist group on Facebook for recommendations on an a/c repair. Looked at the website and there was a $55 coupon for a service fee. After calling to set up an appointment, we got Paul today. He explained that the company will honor the coupon, but the website is out of date. He was very knowledgeable in everything, and was very professional! He even helped us set up an appointment for a quote for a new a/c unit since he said he fixed it but didn't know how long it would last. Our unit is from '92, so it's pretty old and literally hanging on for dear life. Major plus - they're a Vet owned company, and give vet's a discount! I highly recommend them (and Paul) for any service you may need.** Edit to add: we did get a quote from Brett of an outrageous sky high number for a whole new unit. The LOWEST was $14,000!!!! Included was AeroSeal (sealing the ducting since some air was leaking out), moving the unit from behind the house to the side of the house, getting a Mortex Furnace, and finally getting the ANX14 3.5 Ton with sealed duct work. Our house is a freaking double wide trailer and the a/c units in our area are going for $9,000-$10,000. This is without the Veterans Discount. I don't know if they were hiking up the price cause they were just praying on our desperation or what, but that is A LOT of money! They have wonderful customer service but really rediculous prices, so high that people can't afford them. I have to change my 5-star review to reflect this, which should be a 3-star, based on pricing.How are folks supposed to rate a company that cannot make their products affordable, but their customer service is great???~ Tracy Robeson

I had the Aeroseal procedure done on my home. I had to be at work while this happened. Lo did an amazing job making sure my wife knew what was going on and when everything was done. She was friendly and very professional. We had no idea our venting was losing so much of our AC and heat from our unit. I can already tell a huge difference in the house. Absolutely incredible! Our AC passed away peacefully in the middle of the night - I called three different, well-known AC companies the next morning and only one of them committed to getting someone out to look at it that same day... Intelligent Design. The tech who looked at our system was very friendly and knowledgeable, our system was very old and I knew we were looking at getting a new system. Rather than throw more good money after bad, I asked them to quote a new AC system... so a few hours later, I was talking with Taylor about installing a new system and told him I want the absolute best, double throwdown, macdaddy system y'all got - he priced it out, I signed the contract and they scheduled the installation for the next day.When the installers showed up, the lead tech tells us that he is not comfortable with the way the installation would of had to go... he said the only way to install the system I asked for would be to half-ass it, and he would not do it. So they worked to design the absolute best, single throwdown, macdaddy system that was right for our house, they regrouped, got the right system and still had the install done that day.Now dig this... they actually ended up installing a system that was several thousand dollars less than what I asked for - when I pointed out to them that they talked me out of spending more than I did, the tech just said someone else would have just put the more expensive system in, but it was not the right way to do the job and that's not how we work.The crew from Intelligent Design did a great installation of a primo system, while telling me put some of that money back in your wallet dude, we can do what you want for less than you are willing to pay - how many times have you seen a company do that?Happy to say we are part of the iDesign family.

I live in SaddleBrooke and have had high electric bills and recently had Intelligent Design come out for an energy audit. It was quite a positive experience. The technician, Derrek Padilla was extremely knowledgeable and as he conducted the audit, he educated me on many aspects of heating and cooling of my home. I have never had a technician give me so many tips as to what I could do to also help my electric bills as the homeowner. His equipment was high tech and Derrek was very knowledgeable in it's use. He explained everything he was doing as he performed the tests. As a next step, he scheduled me a free in depth heating/ AC check of my HVAC system (blowers, compressor,electrical etc). This was scheduled to occur in a couple of weeks. Very professional company who appears to attempt to solve customers problems the most economically efficient way.

James Cavanaugh is as good as they come. Professional, knowledgeable and trustworthy. Sadly, these traits are not easy to come by these days with many other businesses. Intelligent Design Air Conditioning and Heating is awesome. I had heating issues in my house, called and had an appointment for service in the same week. Today was my service appointment and they sent their service technician Josef. Josef was awesome. Before arriving, Josef sent a text message and then called to let me know he was on the way. When Josef arrived, he was very friendly, knowledgeable and patient. He answered my questions to where I could understand them and spoke to my husband via phone, so I wouldn't have to try to explain any of it later. After Josef looked over the heating unit, he gave me different written options on what could be done to repair the heating unit and also a recommendation/appointment for later today on replacing the unit. And what I like best of all, Josef didn't use pressure or scare tactics to get anything repaired or replaced now. And I really appreciate that, since I get to think everything over first. Overall, I am really impressed. Marty Arrived on time, even called ahead to let me know he was on his way.He fixed my leaking shutoff valve and even showed me how I could do it myself.Then he had to climb through a bunch of desert broom and bushes to diagnose my leaking hose bib. Taylor came out for and Energy Audit. He called ahead and was able to come ahead of schedule. He was very responsive to what i wanted, told me what I needed to do to make my home more efficient. I was able to gather a lot of information on how to make my home more efficient.

Taylor showed up on time to discuss my needs to replace 3 HVAC systems. Very knowledgeable and addressed all of my concerns and questions. I’ll see how their alternative proposals compare with others. I am looking for high quality systems and a first class installation. I have high expectations as I have been using Intelligent Design for maintenance on my 18 year old systems for 4 years. Very pleased with their services up to this point!!

The technicians for Intelligent Design did a fine job. BUT I am really unhappy with Lenox 1. because their thermostat only lasted 5 years and 2. the cost of a replacement thermostat is $1600+. This is way beyond ridiculous. I can buy a new iPad for under $500. How in the world can a thermostat cost $1600+? I recommend people stay away from Lenox.

While I am very unhappy with the reliability of my Lennox Heating/Cooling system, I am 180 degrees to the opposite with Intelligent Design (ID). Living in the desert, its bad when you have a major breakdown with your A/C. ID responded immediately on the same day with their Service Technician, Michael Matthews. He was able to determine the cause of the breakdown, advised that he could not repair without parts, offered us the use of a portable A/C and promised that we would receive a phone call the next day as to when repairs could be made. True to his word, we received the call and welcomed Michael again the next afternoon. Michael's work ethics and capabilities were exceptional and later that day, we were back in business. More recently they worked on some plumbing maintenance as well. James and Jared have been my main techs and they are both excellent. I have and will continue to recommend Intelligent Design.

My husband, Charlie Skuhr, and I have been very pleased with the service provided by Intelligent Design. We have the good fortune to work with Elmo Acosta, our on-site technician. Elmo always takes the time to answer all our questions, explain what service he has provided for that visit and show/explain how to properly use our thermostats. We have confidence that our HVAC system is working as it should and providing its its best performance.

My original servicing company’s rates exceeded my budget. I called Intelligent Design as they were offering a special at the time. They were very accommodating. They sent me an email confirmation of my appointment, along with the name of the technician performing the service. They texted me the morning of the appointment to let me know they were on their way. This was followed up with a phone call from the technician himself. Elmo and his partner in training were very polite, friendly, and thorough. My unit was relatively new, and everything checked out fine. I tend to hover over workers, he didn’t seem to mind and explained everything they checked, he offered to change my filter, and even hosed down the outdoor part of the unit to clean the dirt and dust it was accumulating. They wore shoe covers to protect the floor while inside - a nice touch. Elmo mentioned their optional service plans, no high pressured sales pitch. I was impressed enough to purchase the year long contract.

Our air conditioners have been nothing but problems since we’ve had them installed. Buyer BEWARE. One of our two units has been a complete dud. It’s went out every year . We were told it was a bad install. The first fox lead to complete house leaks. We had ceiling leaks ,complete drywall replaced from the leaks, then the next year the repair caused leaks all over the side of our house with orange water. The third year it stopped we were without air conditioning a week in the hot summer . The brand new units have required complete reconfiguration twice because of a ‘bad install’ and now the same unit is having problems yet again. Every year after $20,000+ . I would never recommend this company. We went with them because we though they were honest and veteran owned.

If I could do it all over again with selecting the ac company and purchasing an ac, I wouldn’t choose intelligent design. And I won’t recommend them to friends and family. My ac installation and order isn’t under Brittany Steed. That is my maidan name. It’s nothing personal. I just think it would be appropriate for the ac company to explain in more detail tax credit qualifications and requirements, financing APR is NOT fixed as we were told better communication needs to be had from the salesman Taylor from the beginning. More detail/explanation needs to be provided about the installation of solar panel site if applicable, install took place and a part within the unit was broken and needed replaced and had we not mentioned the new unit was not cooling properly the newly installed ac would already have a broken part, it took more days and visits than the two for our install to be complete, parts such as the uv light for the air purification, and filters weren’t provided upon installation. When you spend so much money you want to be taken care of and the process to be as seamless as possible and ours wasn’t. We went from a 1 speed to variable a BIG upgrade and after the installation it took multiple visits for our house to be comfortable in comparison to our old unit but it shouldn’t have been so hard to match a 1 speed. And after spending 36k, we’ve been bumped for service and had to reschedule and staff when calling hasn’t always been pleasant.

Justin was prompt and professional he installed all the kitchen sink plumbing faucet and IO water system. He made some changes thinking outside the box and cleaned up the hoses under the sink. He was very personable and a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend his services

I had (3) estimates done on my house for replacing the Evaporative Cooler with an HVAC system. The first estimator told me the HVAC unit that would be installed would not heat my house when the temperature dropped below 40 degrees. The second estimator showed up without a tape measure and wanted me to tell him how thick my outside walls were so he could do a load calculation. The third estimator was from Intelligent Design and he took all kinds of measurements (relevant data, such as the home's orientation, insulation levels, window types, areas of all the surfaces that gain or lose heat, etc) and then he took a vacuum on the entire house with his test equipment. He then put all measurements and data into a computer program and calculated the load. Intelligent Design was very close in price to the other (2) companies but they do much more planning. On the day they were to install the HVAC unit, they noticed that my duct work below the Evaporative Cooler was almost completely rotted out. They replaced 10 feet of duct work before they installed HVAC unit which was at no charge to me and took an extra day. Intelligent Design’s lead tech was amazing. He knew every facet of the HVAC system and had years of experience. He made sure installation was done right. The HVAC system works perfectly. I’m a very happy customer!

We have done business with Intelligent design for the past 2 years. The service personnel have always been very friendly. Todd Sneed came out to perform a few repairs as well as the furnace maintenance, and like previous representatives from the company, he was very knowledgeable, responsive, and an ambassador of customer service. Our AC just stopped working. We called our regular HVAC maintenance service but they couldn't get to me for 2 weeks. I called Intelligent Design (found on Google) and JP Pratt came out and inspected our unit and fixed the problem. I will go back to Intelligent Design for all my future HVAC needs.

The tech went over everything with me and showed me parts about to go bad. He cleaned up everything and replaced worn parts. He did a thorough job and I signed up for a maintenance plan (0% interest for 12 months) that helps defer some repair/replacement costs in the future. I am now confident my system will keep working and if it doesn't I have a reliable person to call.I would recommend intelligent design (and have).

Techs are competent and polite but scheduling is a nightmare. We had first appointment of the day but tech didn't arrive until after 11 am. We had other commitments at 1 and told the tech that. He assured us he would be finished in time but didn't leave until 1:04 causing us to miss an appointment.

Marty came to check my home for a possible re-pipe. He was very knowledgeable and courteous. He and his helper wore face masks and shoe covers. I will place the estimate with my other estimates and then make a decision. Thank you very much.

Unit was installed Aug 2018. Rained during installation and installers were unprepared so water came inside the house, required four buckets to catch all dripping places.A few days later indoor humidity spiked from the usual 30% to 60%. Bread was molding, toilets dripping, atmosphere was clammy. I use an ecobee thermostat which records system state. During August with daily highs of 100-110 the report indicated the second stage compressor only ran a total of 8 hours. I have reported all this trying to convince them the unit is oversized. It is now November but so far they have not acknowledged their error. I fear we will be stuck with a terrible summer experience forever.First time we turned on heating unit in Nov there was no heat. Service person said the installers obviously never checked it because the gas valve was broken so could never have worked. A new one is on order but it has been five days now and we are still without heat, overnight lows are in the 40s and we are all getting ill from living in the cold. I understand parts can take time to procure but I can not understand why heating was not fully tested during installation.It is now Aug 2019, a year later. Last month they finally admitted the unit was oversized, they changed from 4 ton to 2.5 ton but would not refund me the difference in price. Unit ran almost constantly and could not cool below 76. Just received electric bill and it was highest ever living here 11 years. More service visits finally found another defective valve. Unit now does finally cool but humidity still always over 50%.So I give up. I chose this company because of outstanding reviews here. But I have had a poor experience and would not recommend them.——————-It is now May 2021. They have been out several more times since and FINALLY found a defective valve. Replaced and now humidity remains under 50 all the time. So they eventually did come through.

Jake arrived with a smile as big as the sun, and in my 58 years of being alive genuinely has such a great attitude, and even after going on numerous calls, had the best attitude I haven’t seen in a long time!! Intelligent Air Design did great. The technician was very prompt and extremely professional. I showed where both indoor units where (upstairs and downstairs) and also where the units were outside. He did what he needed to do in a respectful manner (I have 2 young kids) and when he was completed he went through every item on the list individually. His explanations of any problems were very clear and I was able to understand. He offered to schedule someone to have any issues fixed but unfortunately we have a home warranty that Intelligent Air does not work with so we had to go with an outside vendor. We will definite use Intelligent Air in the future.

Kevin cooled down the unit and I was able to continuing using by manually turning and shutting it off until my new unit was installed on Wednesday.Charlie performed my annual furnace inspection/startup 11/8/2019 and fixed a small issue explained that my new unit was safe and running efficient.I've been with ID for several years, there technicians are very knowledgeable, professional as well as a quick response time.I've never been disappointed with Intelligent Design their response time has always been fast. Jake is very professional and truly cares about what he does. This company has a great employee! He spent a lot of time explaining everything that he honestly believed needed to be done to make us happy with our A/C efficiency. We have not used their service yet but I had to leave a quick review so people would know how great the service will be when you call Intelligent Design. We are going to have a project manager come out and talk to us about solar and roof coating so we will not make a decision until then.

I had my kitchen faucet replaced, a recirculating system installed to provide hot water much faster to my kitchen, and repairs done to two exterior faucets. Gabe was efficient and professional. All work was high quality and was completed on schedule. Gabe was respectful of social distancing and all his work was neatly done with all materials cleaned up. And it all works great! I would definitely recommend this company for any plumbing needs.

Intelligent Design is the best!!! I called them at 6 p.m. on a Thursday night after my AC went out and even though it was late they still happily sent someone out to help us. The technician that arrived was Shawn and Shawn was awesome! I would definitely recommend them. Shawn was very friendly, he did not mind me going up on the roof with him to look at the problem (my A/C is on the roof), and he explained everything to me that he was doing while he was doing it. Shawn did not seem bothered at all that he had to come there so late and the work I got was honest, professional, guaranteed, and reasonably priced. I highly recommend them!

Great experience with Intelligent Design. They installed our new A/C with no problems and when they left the system worked perfectly. The entire team was professional. The techs that installed the unit took great care to not damage anything in the house and kept it all as clean as possible. I would recommend this company to anyone.

I've been using ID for about 4 years. Reggie just finished upgrading my HVAC units. He found that I had two stage units and when properly set up will actually run in a two load mode. He trouble shot the system and found the builder had jetted for natural gas yet I am using propane. After fixing that my units no longer give me problems with starting.Can't say enough good things about ID and Reggie.

Update:Had another visit today and James was VERY helpful at explaining any readings and offering suggestions. A great hvac tech, very courteous and knowledgeable.A week ago we received a complimentary home energy analysis from Intelligent Design. The service representative was very courteous and timely in his arrival. I was impressed with the hardware used to properly determine the energy efficiency of the house. He determined the leakage from the house and then went through with an infrared camera to see where any leaks may exist. His recommendations to deal with the issues were to the point and he didn't try to up-sell me solutions that were not cost effective.I also received a replacement HVAC compressor through this company. The technician was quick and did a great job. They even offered me additional savings to help with the cost of the replacement, it was much appreciated!

Intelligent Design got me in on a same day basis. They worked late into the night, to assure my AC was working again.

I requested a system checkup from Intelligent Design and the office staff was very nice and responsive. The tech that came out to inspect everything was very nice, responsive, and also very respectful of my house. I was given plenty of information and pictures to help understand the state of my system.Overall, I had a very pleasant experience and will definitely use them again in the future.

Purchased their special service package that was offered on Angie's List. Daniel V was the tech who came out to handle the servicing.He examined our 4 year old A/C-furnaces, checked and cleaned the furnaces, installed overflow units, and then field stripped the A/C units. He found that we had a pack rat hotel. The little monsters had eaten the wire insulation and used the blanket foam to build a nest. Had he not discovered the bare wires, we would have been in real trouble as we enter the Tucson summer. Daniel cleaned out the nests,cleaned the coils and repaired the wire insulation. He found that the A/C motors were defective (leaking oil) and made arrangements to obtain replacements. Daniel returned yesterday to install the motors and replace the insulation on all lines leading into the units, as well as installing surge protectors .Daniel went above and beyond in servicing and repairing our units. He is C/S at its best. If he is an example of Intelligent Design's service staff, no wonder they continually get an A rating.As a result of Daniel's outstanding work, we purchased a maintenance agreement and feel that our furnaces/A/Cs are in good handsBTW: As a vet, glad to do business with fellow vets.

Our AC stopped working the day before the July 4th holiday. Jonathan J came to the house within 20 minutes of our call (he was in the neighborhood) and identified the problem quickly. I decided to go with mini splits after my problematic central air quit working properly. I decided to go with the Hessaire which had a seer 23 rating. The company I bought it from, local, raked me over the coals for installing it my self. The first company I had come out to vacuum and charge the lines were indignant that I had done it myself.IDAC came out treated me with dignity and respect. They checked over the system, made sure a fitting leak I had found had been repaired properly. They were professional and courteous. They gave me some tips for my next installation. For DIYers who cannot find companies to service your installation using this company will be a pleasure. For those who cannot do your own installation give this company a call! We had a new water filtration and softening system installed. Company was responsive to our questions, quick and professional during every visit.

It speaks volumes that I was willing to sign the dotted line on a relatively large expenditure for my house when it wasn't really needed, but that is exactly what happened with Intelligent Design. Let me tell you how this came about.At a recent Home Show where I was volunteering (only noting as I was not there to shop), I had taken a few minutes time to walk around the show and see what was there. Nothing really stuck out to me until I saw the large sign for ID advertising TEP rebates for HVAC replacements. I had not heard of this prior, so stopped and talked to Lance, and was immediately impressed with his professional attitude and ability to answer my questions without pitching anything. We set up an appointment for him to come out to my house and do an energy audit to see where I sit.Fast forward to our appointment, and Lance shows up and takes detailed measurements of my house, windows, and information from my existing hvac unit. He then did a blower door test (used a giant fan to create a slight vacuum in the house) and came up with an overall energy readout for my house. Never in any of this time did Lance talk about sales, and in fact challenged me to give him a reason why I should replace my system (I have a fairly energy efficient house and a PV system). This was one of the most important parts to me, as he wanted to make sure this upgrade was worth the cost to me. A week later Lance was back at my house with three options and an idea of how much energy I would save a year based off my energy used/generated for the prior year. We actually downsized our compressor as the efficiency of the new system didn't require such a large tonnage as I had at the time.The install itself went without any hassle. The men arrived on time, took care of everything, explained my system to me in detail, and spent a solid 30 minutes adjusting each individual register (I have 13 in my house) to make sure the flow from each was balanced, which was one of my main complaints about my old system. The installers left no trace of their having completely reworking my hvac system, and were also just as nice and professional as Lance before them. About a week later Lance was back to inspect their work and to complete a second blower door test to confirm an increase in efficiency in my system.Though it hasn't been hot enough yet to turn on the A/C, we are already seeing benefits in the updated electronics for fan circulation and the optional air purifier we had installed. I have no doubts that I will also see lower energy use once the summer hits, and have no worry about the quality of system I had installed. I would definitely recommend ID in the future, and intend to be a repeat customer for all hvac needs.
