We were replacing our main AC and furnace, an expensive project. Price on the four bids we got were basically identical, but A&M’s service sets them apart. They understood our setup better than the AC company that installed and serviced it previously. They were put a lot of time into improving our system, rather than just sending us a boilerplate quote swapping in a new unit.

Typically about three days into a big project, I get that “oh no, why did I even start this, I’m going to have to babysit these guys and argue about a bunch of stuff” feeling, but with A&M I knew immediately that we’d made the right choice. All of their employees were professional and really nice people. Our project had some unexpected turns (invasive tree roots and a sewer line that cracked where the condenser needed to be), but they handled it all flawlessly. I didn’t lose even one minute worrying. I knew they would get it done correctly, and they did.

Amy and Mark stay on top of changes in their field, and they clearly enjoyed sharing their knowledge and helping us understand our options. I learned a lot from them! Definitely will be switching to them for our maintenance as well. 100% recommend.

Mark and his crew were very professional in the installation of our mini split units. They are very conscience of the smallest detail and took action to assure that the job was done to the most professional level.

After the frustration that was working with our home warranty and another AC company to ultimately get nowhere with our AC unit, I had asked on NextDoor for a good recommendation for a trustworthy company to work with.

A & M Mechanical was brought up. I did some research and noticed there was nothing but positive feedback. I called and spoke with Amy. She spent almost 30 minutes with me going over our entire history of duct work and AC issues to fully understand what was going on before scheduling a diagnostic and possible repair for the next day.

Mark came out and I remember it was a particularly cold and wet day. Plenty of clouds and morning rain. He introduced himself, took a look at the duct work repairs we had done with the prior AC company through our home warranty and did a thorough inspection of our unit. He found that our refrigerant was almost completely empty and also found the source of our leak. He shared with me videos and photos he took and explained, in detail, why we were having issues and gave a rough estimate as to how much the repair would cost. He let me know Amy would get back to me later that day with a breakdown. She sent me the cost for repair, cost for a new unit that was the exact same model as our existing which would save us $1,000 as we could use our existing fitting and the cost for a new higher end unit.

We selected the 2nd option, Amy came to our home to have us fill out the paperwork since we had a newborn and leaving the home was difficult and had a crane and AC unit at our home, being installed, 2 days later! Not only that, we upgraded our thermostat to a new Honeywell smart WiFi unit. Mark did an amazing job and explained everything on how to setup, how to use our AC and avoid certain pitfalls like pre-cooling our home before on-peak, etc. Amy even came by a few days later with all of the paperwork, warranty documentation that they submitted on our behalf and follow-up to see how everything was performing.

A & M goes the extra mile. I didn't feel like we were just working with another business. I felt like we were working with friends that we could trust. Having peace of mind for the next 10 years with our unit and our daughter is invaluable.

Amy/Mark and crew did a great job of installing and making operational my new American Standard HVAC Heat Pump systems. From the first time I spoke to Amy on the phone about having A&M come to my home for a system quote, I realized there was something different about the way they operated their business. I thought it was very unusual to have the owner answering her own business phone. Amy gathered a truckload of information before even coming to the house. Then both Amy and Mark showed up at my home with detailed plans in hand and spent approximately 7 hrs. with me making suggestions, over all details and Mark surveyed ever square inch of my home and attic space. This was all before I even agreed to do business with them.
I have a very good feeling I will have a long relationship with them and some of the industries best equipment.

Long story short, our a/c unit that was 32 years old went out on us in the AZ summer. We then tried to work with home warranty without any luck. 7 days with no air and it was 90+ degrees comfortably in the house lol. Day 5 we called A&M mechanical spoke with Amy and within 2 days we where having a brand new unit installed!!!! Amy & Mark answered all of our crazy questions, got us financed, and that was it. As temps started to heat up this Spring, we reached out to A&M Mechanical to check out a loud sound coming from our AC unit. They confirmed our fears, that we needed a new unit. Over the course of the next week to install, and the month to follow, A&M won our family over with their responsiveness, education, service, attention to detail, follow through, and overall kindness.

Amy patiently spent 45 minutes on the phone educating me on the the difference in units, duct work, cost, potential utility savings, manufacturer rebates, and our family’s needs to help us determine the best fit for purchase. When calling other vendors to compare costs, the service and care could not compare.

Given that we were quickly approaching the first three digit temps of the year that weekend, their schedule was packed, and we were out AC. Add to this the COVID-19 pandemic, so a hotel stay was not really an option. Owners Amy and Mark personally came by that Saturday to install a portable AC unit in our main living space to help us manage until install could be completed the following week. Although they were already booked with two new installs, Amy tirelessly rearranged their schedule and sectioned our the work, finishing a day and a half ahead of our quoted time.

This team has been the most thorough in communication and attention to detail that I have ever experienced. Workers Mark, Brad and Brian took impeccable care of our home, wrapping the carpeted stairs and taping down a protected pathway out of the house in case of debris. They replaced the air handler and duct work, as well as a new hard wired thermostat to ensure optimum flow, efficiency and comfort.

Over the next few weeks, Amy continued to follow up with final paperwork/warranty, providing both hard copy and digital files for our records. We are thrilled to continue our relationship with A&M with annual maintenance checks, knowing they have our family’s best interests at heart. They truly have a passion for what they do, and the caring manner in which they do it. We are so grateful we chose them for this important purchase!

A&M was amazing to deal with from the very beginning. Amy was compassionate and understanding when she heard that our AC was not working in the middle of the summer. She immediately sent a technician to check out our system to see if it needed repair or replacement. Once we confirmed it was dead, she gave us 4 options, ensuring that we understood the differences between all of them and helped us choose the system that best met our needs. Mark and Brad spent many hours on the roof during one of the hottest days of the year making sure that the system was installed to the highest standards, then monitoring it for several hours to make sure it was working at peak performance. My house is nice and cool now, and they took the time to show me how to work the new thermostat so that I get the most out of my new system. I contacted A & M Mechanical a couple years ago to have my A/C serviced after meeting Amy at a Greater Phoenix Chamber event. Mark came out a week or so later and gave my old (18+ yrs) unit a thorough inspection and cleaning. He was the most friendly and knowledgeable A/C person I've met. He probably could have convinced me to replace my system at that time, but was very honest and said there was nothing wrong with it that he could see, and I could probably get another few years of use until it finally just gives out from age.

I went another two years with the same unit until I decided to proactively replace it this past winter for peace of mind and energy savings. The entire process was great from start to finish. Amy was awesome on the quote and pricing stage and Mark and his team did a great job on installing the unit over the course of two days. They install American Standard systems, and while they are not the cheapest out there, they have a great reputation for dependability. The new system is so much quieter, and I imagine will save me big time when summer hits in a couple months.

To sum things up, if you're looking for a bargain-basement deal, then you should probably look elsewhere. I've worked with Amy & Mark of A&M Mechanical for the better part of a decade starting with my first home purchase. They responded to an issue with our water heater, pretty efficient, tried to locate problem, then let us know to contact the appropriate repairman and part needed.

A&M provided me with honest and quick service. They worked with me to get the best deal possible on a new HVAC system. They were amazing in their ability to remove and install my new unit in very rough terrain. Their customer service is excellent. Since I was unable to be present during the installation, they kept me informed through phone calls, emails, texts, photos and videos. Considering the mess of installation, their cleaned up was immaculate. They have gone out of their way to provide help with every aspect of the a new system, and I can rest assured that they will help me maintain my system for years to come.

I was so fortunate to find Amy during a particularly difficult day. During the super intense heat wave (multiple 110+ days), my AC unit stopped working in the middle the night. I contacted one of the big box companies Monday morning and they arrived promptly for an inspection. They told me that I had a fire in my attic that shorted everything and that my best bet would be to replace my entire HVAC system - to the tune of about $17,000. I asked if there was a way to repair the damaged parts and they told me that the only option for me was to replace everything.

$17,000 was a little too steep for me to consent to without a second opinion, so I contacted Amy with A&M Mechanical. Amy did a wonderful job of educating me over the phone of my options and the pros and cons of replacing the entire system vs. repairing the issue. Amy ordered the parts I needed and sent out a crew (Brad and Easton) the next day. To my surprise, they did not find any evidence of a fire in my attic and just needed to replace a couple of parts. After completing their repairs, they did a complete tune-up and notified me of some other issues that they were able to inexpensively and promptly fix. Prior to leaving, they replaced my air filters for me and told me to contact them if there were any other issues.

Amy and her team were so knowledgable, honest and kind to work with. Amy educated me instead of trying to sell me a bunch of things I did not actually need. She respected that as an attorney, HVAC systems are not my expertise. And she communicated with me every step of the way. What could have been a $17,000 day, ended up being a small fraction of that cost to repair instead of replace. In the future, I will certainly be calling Amy and A&M Mechanical Inc for any future HVAC needs. I cannot imagine what would have happened if I hadn't sought her counsel for a second opinion.

My wife and I rolled the proverbial dice with A & M Mechanical as one of our Mitsubishi AC handlers was dying a slow death and not generating the cooling power and air flow to the degree it was supposed to. Being we've been in our home a little more than two years, this was maddening. But we're glad we took a chance on A & M Mechanical because not only did Mark and his team troubleshoot the problem and fix it, Amy and Mark went above and beyond to help us the entire way. They spent hours on the phone, tediously waiting on hold with Mitsubishi at no additional charge to determine if the system was under warranty )it wasn't thanks to the wonderful prior owner who bought and installed them). They provided us a very reasonable quote for all the work (which included parts and labor to repair the AC handler, thoroughly cleaning both handlers in our bedroom, and installing purification devices in both units). My wife and I were impressed with the degree of professionalism and acumen Amy and Mark displayed throughout our entire experience, which is far from guaranteed with other vendors in the area. We're big on customer service above all else as part of hiring a company to perform any job capably and honestly, and A & M Mechanical is at the top of the list in this regard. We've used A&M for several years and have referred friends and family to them as well. They do great work, very thorough and have excellent customer service. I could not be happier with our decision to use A & M Mechanical for our A/C replacement. Last summer we had an issue with our A/C and had an option to either replace the coils or the unit. Trust was definitely established when they did not just recommend a new unit. We decided to replace the unit based on its age, but as we had a lot going on at the time it was difficult for us to schedule at that time. Mark and his team were able to provide a temporary fix and got us through a very hot summer. Through the fall we were dealing with our elderly mother in and out of the hospital and Amy was so caring and patient, and kept us up to date on manufacturer pricing and promotions, and got us locked in on pricing at the end of the year, and scheduled our install for February. Earlier this week Mark and his team, Brad and Brian completed the install of our new unit. They were so professional, knowledgable, and personable. Mark did an exceptional job going over the functions on the new thermostat, and going over the paperwork and warranties, making is so easy to understand. Before the install was complete Amy had emailed me with the details on the remote access account she had set up for us, to be able to access our thermostat remotely, again providing easy to understand directions. It is so comforting working with a family owned business, whose integrity and compassion are demonstrated in everything they do.

Mark, Amy and their professional team are true gem in the crowded field of HVAC companies to choose from here in the valley. I wish I could give them 10 stars! My short view is this: do yourself a favor hire A&M IMO they simply are the best in the valley.

A&M just finished installing a new HVAC system in early January and my wife and I could not be happier with the work and American Standard products they sell. You may pay a little more for this team of professionals, but I promise you it will be money well spent!

I did a lot of research on cost (let's face it this is a major investment) and how to get the best value for our replacement HVAC system. Everything I read said that the brand you select and who installs your system is what brings the greatest value to your new HVAC. My wife and I chose A&M because we felt they had a quality brand (American Standard) and we thought they would do the best installation.

The painstaking care that A&M spent making sure that everything was perfect cannot be understated. They started the process by taking load measurements and making sure our units matched our needs. They then discussed hot spots and the current challenges we have keeping our home comfortable, and from there they built a custom plan to meet our needs. They recommended several changes to the way the builder had set up our original HVAC system.

The install team came out and spent an entire week (5-6 days w/at least 3 workers on site) installing our new A/C units and correcting the builder duct work. Aside from finding tears in our builder duct work, they worked to make the flow of air more efficient by making major changes to the original builder duct work layout, and where needed reinstalling new duct work. No detail in the install was too small to give attention to or overlooked.

If you've read this review to the end you can see that A&M has a true fan. They made me a fan of their company through their outstanding customer service, their honest hard work, painstaking attention to detail and the value they give you for work done in their pricing. When you are looking at prices on a paper it's hard to decided who to select because it seems like an HVAC company is an HVAC company and the work they do is all the same. It is clear to me now, after watching my neighbors do HVAC installs (which tops took 2 days to install), that HVAC companies are not all the same.

What great service I received. A & M responded very quickly. The technician, Brad, demonstrated vast knowledge about the AC system we have. Over three years ago one of our A/C units stopped working. We decided to try a new HVAC company since we hadn't been happy with other companies we've used in the past. We have two A/C units, and the repair that had to be done was the exact same problem we had with the other unit. A&M fixed our broken unit, and the repair was far less then the cost of the first unit we had repaired 6 month earlier. We could not have been happier with their thorough honest work. The repair A&M did extended the life of our A/C's a few more years (which was the hope). Our units are now 20 years old and we've decided to replace them. Your air conditioning always quits after 5pm on Friday night. I called A & M Mechanical and left a message. It said they open at 8am on Saturday. Amy called me first thing on Saturday morning. She said they could get some one out that morning. I was relieved since it was getting pretty warm out. Brad was at my place by 930am. Excellent service. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He didn't take long to diagnose and repair my air conditioner. I will definitely use A & M Mechanical from now on.

A&M Mechanical installed our new air conditioner recently. They did it in only 2 days, left everything the way it was when they began the installation. we are so excited to have our new system! I know this will save us money and it is already working so much better than the old one. The folks at A & M did a great job installing a new HVAC system in my home! Everything was done in a professional manner, the rooftop unit looks great, and my new thermostat allows me to monitor the system when I'm away!

I called A&M in June of 2017 to do an inspection on the ac unit of a condo I was going to purchase. Mark came out and did the inspection on a 35 yr. old unit and said that it was on its last leg, he actually needed to change some wiring I believe, because of work done on the unit from other companies was not correct. He said the unit was a mess because of all the band-aids made on it through out the years, he requested that I think about replacing the unit because it may not get me through another summer. Long story short, it made it through and A&M installed one in June of last year and I am so grateful for Mark and Amy for their help in getting me the correct unit for my condo and for getting me a thermostat that I can control with my phone from anywhere! The job was done in a day, new unit, elbow, wiring, condensate line, and thermostat. The job was clean and they cleaned up after they were done.

I sold my house and had to have an home inspection. The inspector noted that I needed 3 screws in to secure the flue pipe in place. A friend of mine recommended me to call A&M. Talked to Amy, she was very helpful and pleasant. She stated that the screws are not recommended for these types of pipes. After A&M did the required preventative maintenance on my HVAC units, Amy went above and beyond and called the flue pipe manufacturer and distributor, the City inspector, an experienced home inspector, as well as combing thru code books and found nothing to support the home inspectors requirement for screws. She even called my home inspector. She sent me the code language for interlocking B vents and it did state that one should not use screws. I will definitely use A&M again.

The only people to call if you’re having an issue with your HVAC! The owners, Amy and Mark, bent over backwards to help get my heat up and running again- they personally picked up the needed part and delivered it to their excellent technician at my home. They were spot- on about what needed to be done, didn’t try to up-sell me to newer units and were reasonably priced to boot!

Not only do these guys offer great products but they have exemplary service as well. I've called them several times for help with my Mitsubishi mini split ACs. All but one time they were able to help me out over the phone for free. They are kind, caring small business owners. I highly recommend them!
