Update: 4/27/2023. Initially, I was impressed by the business. I ordered the part from the manufacturer as Brandon requested. The part was overnight shipped and I have had it for four days. Rheem is also sending extra parts - just in case. Even though I have the needed part in hand, the business will not schedule the repair until the unneeded parts are here, too. So, I am waiting an extra four days (so far) without hot water for duplicate parts and parts that might not be needed. Day 12 with no hot water is not fun.Initial review: Wayne from the Hot Water Guys is very knowledgeable and knows his stuff when it comes to pricing and tankless water heater specifications. The quote had line items so everything is upfront. Still the most fairly priced. Original Review: When my usual plumber didn’t have time for a service call, I reached out to the water heater manufacturer’s website and chose the top 3 per Google reviews. Hot Water Guys were the most fairly priced. Brandon showed up on time and was very knowledgeable, and respectful. The manufacturer’s replacement part was not the fix, which is a bummer. But the manufacturer is sending the next part in line for troubleshooting. Brandon was quickly on the phone getting the part ordered. He gave me options for repair or replacement without pushing in either direction. I find the prices fair, unlike the other companies' quotes which were basically a kidney and my firstborn. I might finally be able to afford a tankless. But if it’s not, I am confident I have found a reputable plumbing company to fix my current water heater and pipe leak issues. I recommend Hot Water Guys!

I had an amazing experience with this company!!! I called the office and Amber helped me set up my appointment, even though I know nothing about water heaters she walked me through it and I really appreciated that. I also spoke with Carrie and she was fantastic! Sam was the technician that actually came to my home to do the repair he was very nice and informative! He fixed my water heater and answered all of my questions, it really meant a lot to me that he was so kind and patient. I will absolutely use Hot Water Guys if I have any other issues with my water heater!!

I just had my line heater serviced and cleaned. When I called for a future appointment, they had a time slot the same day I called. The technician kept me in the loop as to his arrival time and did good work to service my unit in a timely matter. For line heaters I only use Hot Water Guys. Keep up the good work.

Completely professional, They came, they saw, they installed. Job took less time that I imagined, at a price less than I had figured. So much better to use a company that specializes in Tank-less Hot Water Heaters than trusting that the average plumber you hire, has ever installed any.

Professional + CLEAN + great communication + good prices. I shopped around. Very happy so far. The installers took time to lay down rugs so as not to make a mess. They got it done relatively quickly. Less than a day. Well done.

We had recurring problems with a tankless water heater. It was a complex issue that required extensive trouble shooting and repairs took a little longer than usual, but we are very happy with the results. Tankless water heater maintenance was done.Called to schedule an appointment and spoke with Amber, she was very professional and was very pleasant to speak with, she asked what service I needed and from there asked questions she needed and was happy to answer any of my questions.The technician that did my service maintenance was Sam S. and I can’t say enough of how professional and knowledgeable he was about my tankless unit.As he worked on the unit he took the time to explained features on the unit and how they worked and asked me if I had any questions and answered all my questions.He was very efficient and careful when working on the unit to keeping his work area clean and when finished cleaned the area again.This company is definitely about providing professional service, but also great customer service.I highly recommend this company.Thank you

Extremely rude front desk. Their pricing structure is strange. They will charge hourly plus per unit plus trip charge. Not sure how they have such a great ratings, shop before you chose them

Wanted to replace my water heater with a tankless one. Inspection guy was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of options based on our needs and preferences. Installation was also very smooth. They were respectful of our home and didn't make a huge mess of anything. It's been about six months now and everything is working well and pretty smooth!

Omg. Sam was sooo helpful. He pumped all the dirty water out of my water heater and also cleaned the shower heads and faucet aerators. We had no water pressure now we do. I purchased a hot water heater and installed it for my Uncle who has early stage alzheimer's. The pilot light would not stay lit. I call Rheem and they sent out Brandon Smith from Hot Water Guys. He call before coming out and I explained to him about my Uncle and he was upstanding. Brandon fixed the problem. He was professional and knowledgeable of the product he was working on.

Wayne and Jake were great! They coordinated with my roofers for a seamless job on a new non condensating tankless water heater with thermal bypass. Showed up on time and were very professional. Wayne gave us several quote options and took his time finding the best solutions for our home. Very reasonable on cost too.

On time arrival was just the start. It was obvious the serviceman was knowledgeable and got right to it. He contacted the tankless water heater manufacturer and had a lengthy discussion, including a video chat with them about the unit. The system had some significant leaking due to age and lack of service by the previous owner. They arranged for parts to be delivered in a few days under warranty.Very pleased so far and expect the final repairs next week will go well. Reasonably priced, great rapport with manufacturer, timely and efficient. Highly recommended.Follow-up - Final repair now completed. Additional parts were required but all us in good working order now. Dan was great.Glitch in a ten year old unit required callback. However the additional cost was for the part only. I appreciated the conservative approach to the repair rather than replacing every possible part. Still very satisfied with the work by Dan and the Hot Water Guys. Highly recommended.

Spoke to manager, Carrie, on the phone on Tuesday. She was fine, not particularly nice or sweet but matter of fact, and I’m good with that. I sent her photos of my heater and asked if she could send out a technician. She responded that She would send out a pricing specialist (what, why?)to replace a filter but that the pricing specialist was not a technician and ergo could not perform any maintenance on the unit. So I called to ask why I would need a specialist who does t perform maintenance and instead, I was cut off by a “service rep” She was quite rude on the phone and would not let me ask any questions or explain the situation. I just wanted to make sure we were on the same page and was cut off and told that I needed to listen to her and be told what I needed to do.I will not be using your services based on that phone call. I worked in the service industry for twenty years, and it is so important to put your ego aside, bite your tongue, and just let the other person speak. I know it’s a tough job, but it is imperative to be nice. I mean, you’re essentially the first impression of a company, and this was a horrible one!You may not care about losing a potential client, but you should. We really wanted to use a company that is in our neighborhood to support the local business community. This is regrettable.

Found the Hot Water Guys online and was pleased with the number of good reviews they already had. They definitely didn't disappoint! They scheduled a same day service. The tech was on time, explained everything (and even more than he probably needed to get me up to speed on the inner workings of our tankless water heater...much appreciated), and fixed the problem within the first hour for a reasonable cost. Sam not only fixed the issue, but he figured out why it happened in the first place, fixed my vent so it would be less likely to happen again, and showed me what to do in case it did. The parts I had been told I needed by another company were totally unnecessary and after scaling my hot water heater and replacing the filter (an $8 part) he called the repair in and credited my account with the cost of the unnecessary parts. The price was a fraction of what I had been quoted by the other company as well. Hot Water Guys are my new go to plumbing and heating company and I highly recommend them. Especially Sam.

This was one of the most pleasant and professional appliance replacement installations I have ever experienced. They even moved the placement of the tankless hot water unit in my attic to make it completely accessible, unlike before. They were both efficient, courteous and neat, explaining the use of the unit. My tankless water heater is 13 years old and has never been serviced. Sam S. Is very responsive, helpful, and had a number of good suggestions. He also noticed a recall issue with some of the roof flashing, which will be repaired next week at no additional charge.

Hot Water Guys are the best. I called as a first time customer to make an appointment for annual service on my tankless hot water heater. Their staff was helpful and up front about the cost and emailed me directly after we hung up to gather more information I wasn't able to provide on the phone.The technician arrived quickly, was efficient, and even noticed something in my unit that should have been turned on to make it more efficient but wasn't, so he did so without an extra charge. What a great experience. Moving into a new town home and both hot water heaters were bad. Decided to upgrade to a single tankless unit. Installation was painless and super clean! they were fast and super informative and hauled away the old tanks without making a mess. I highly recommend this company

It was truly refreshing to have a professional plumber that explained what was going on with our situation and went out of his way to help us with an old hot water unit. I cannot express my gratitude toward Sam. We can now shower in our bathrooms instead of using my mom’s little bathroom for a family of 4. Will definitely call them if I need a plumber in the future. They were recommended by my regular plumber that was busy on another job.

My technician was very nice and professional. He got the job done quickly and efficiently. I asked if he could replace 2 nips that looked rusty. It took him about 10 minutes tops and I was charged an extra 1/2 hour time. I felt that was extreme and not warranted. Otherwise, I liked them.

I had warranty work for a Rheem Hot Water Heater, the staff was amazing to setup the appointment, text and email messages for verification of appointment, and then text me to say Tech is En Route, and then another text when complete. After all that great service I still had questions since I was not home for the repair; the office staff was easy to reach with one phone call. The office staff easily answered my question since the technician had already input notes on the account when completed.HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I asked the Hot Water Guys for a quote to install a Stiebel Eltron 24kW tankless electric water heater, which sells for $624 (plus tax) at Home Improvement stores. The games started by asking me to give the specs for the installed water heater (which - in my case - is gas with a tank located in the attic above the garage), tell how old it is, and inform of the number of bedrooms and bathrooms in my house. I furnished the info knowing that I did not have to, because my request was very clear and specific and I did not want the Hot Water Guys to propose the size of the electric water heater I need. The customer-facing case-workers are Kenia, Amber, and Carrie (maybe there are more), but they clearly consult with others in the background; likely the owners, Kenny and Tom. I was quoted a price of $3,600-$4,100 excluding the electrical work. When I asked what was included in that price, the Hot Water Guys answered: The $3600-$4100 includes the purchase of the water heater, removal of the previous water heater, pulling permits, setting up inspections, two crew members’ labor, and any miscellaneous materials such as venting, piping, and service valves. I emailed the county and received confirmation from the Assistant Engineer and Permits Coordinator that no permits - and thus no inspections - are required for this work. I emailed the Hot Water Guys the county's response. The Hot Water Guys know that permits and inspections are not required for this work, but they play 'dumb' and would use their gang and charge customers some $1,000 under this item. I asked the Hot Water Guys to advise the size and price of the electric water heater their quote is based on. They refused to answer. When I insisted, they answered: Respectfully, we are going to decline any further business. We respect our customers and expect the same respect in return. The communication thus far has been unproductive, despite our best efforts to serve you. Thank you for considering Hot Water Guys. The Hot Water Guys does not respect or serve customers; they cheat, ridicule, and rob customers. They are serious violators and must be held to account. No rational observer will ever find it reasonable that a $624 tankless electric water heater would cost $5,500 or more to install ($4,100 for plumbing plus $1,400 or more for electrical). Do not use the Hot Water Guys... They are big cheaters...

Right Product, Right Price, Great ServiceHot Water Guys replaced two 40 gallon tanks in my attic with one Rinnai RL75in for a 3 1/2 bath home. Between doing a ton of reading/research and getting three quotes, these are my conclusions:- Rinnai is the most dependable brand- Hot Water Guys' quote best fit my needs- My other quotes leaned toward larger or more complicated units.- Apples to apples, their quote was 10% below the closest quote.- In the end I spent about 20% less by taking their recommendation- The installation was neat and clean from start to finish.- The installers were nice, professional and thorough.Based on my reading and research, I would have over spent on a bigger or more complicated unit. In the end I chose to go with Tom's recommendation since they install these every day. After a couple weeks of use, I can say his recommendation fit our needs.

Hot Water Guys repaired my hot water heater after getting my roof replaced. They discovered the issue quickly and resolved the problem in a timely manner. The service guys are very knowledgeable and professional. Also, the staff in the front office were really helpful and responsive.

We had the circuit board replaced on our tankless water heater. I spoke to Customer Service and they were very helpful in helping me making sure my service will can be recovered through Home Insurance afterward. Carrie in CS was super efficient and was very willing to help. Also they were very straightforward with me about pricing and timing of the service. They do sound very rushy on the phone, so be prepared for that but don't be intimidated :) My part needed to be ordered, so service date could not be confirmed until part came in. They got the part in the day after the order, and our service was completed within 2 days of calling. Brian, our technician was on time, communicated when he was en route and arrived within ETA, was very helpful and knowledgeable about the repair we needed and very welcoming to our questions. I am very impressed with their transparent and straightforward ways of servicing customers, sharing their knowledge of the type of water heater we have which allows us to be very informed customers.

Sam S. was super nice and knowledgeable! He came by after hours to fix our hot water heater that was under warranty through American Water Heaters. He replaced the broken part and even drained and flushed it, something I have always needed to do but didn't have the knowledge or time to do. I would highly recommend Hot Water Guys. The staff in the office were very courteous, helpful and responsive. Big thumbs up!!!

This was my first time dealing with a water heater installation. The Hot Water Guys did an excellent job with the installation! They were very well informed with their product and very professional . I especially appreciated the email updates I received throughout my installation process. Also, I have been dealing with several contractors in the past month due to broken pipes , and they were by far the easiest and quickest to work with!

They explained how it works, all of the various parts of it and, they took their time with it.Yes, they were about 30 minutes late, but it was not a big deal, and I'm happy with the finished product.I would definitely recommend if you are considering having a tankless water heater installed.

We are VERY pleased with the exceptional service provided by The Hot Water Guys - receptionists and the plumber, Bryan who repaired our tankless heater. Our 12 year old tankless water heater stopped working and I started calling plumbers who specialize in tankless heaters to check it. A cold front was going to drop temperatures and we were not looking forward to cold showers. Several plumbing companies told us that they could not schedule us for 4-5 days, AND that we probably need a new heater which would cost $3500- $4000. Abra was very helpful in getting Bryan out to check our heater on the same day. He was able to make a temporary repair so we would have hot water while waiting for the new parts which had to be ordered. He installed the new parts and all is well again with our heater! Two visits and the parts were all completed for about $300. Thank you so much!

It was under warranty, so I have no idea what the visit would have cost to make any representation about value. He arrived within the time window given, had all of the correct tools and parts, and fixed it quickly and correctly the first time

I'm super impressed with the level of service I received from the Hot Water Guys. Our external tankless gas heater was affected by the recent winter storm here in Houston. While they weren't able to get us all the replacement parts we needed, they did work with us to show up several times to triage and install the parts as we got them.Their team is super punctual, kind, and professional even through this very challenging process. They wore a mask every time there were here. They walked me through the issues and explained what they were doing during the repair. I'd be glad to work with this team again (but hopefully won't need to see them for a long time)

I called Hot Water Guys to do some routine maintenance on our tankless heater. I appreciated their responsiveness and their text + email reminders. Our technician was Sam, and he rocked! He did an excellent job with the maintenance itself, and he took time to help us figure out why we were experiencing low water pressure. Highly recommended.

Jake, Justin, and a tall guy (sorry I don't remember his name) worked hard under incredibly hot conditions, yet they were personable, respectful, and answered my questions professionally and with kindness. They suggested a solution to a gas tightness problem and even installed a plate over an outdoor electrical outlet for me, which was unrelated to the job - this is service above and beyond, for sure! I highly recommend this team.

Back on a Monday, in December 2021, I had this company come out and give me a quote to replace the Navien tankless water heater that was rendered useless from the historic freeze, earlier that year. My previous heater was the top of the line, with the most efficient technology, that a tankless can offer (condensing). Yet, because I reside in a lower-income neighborhood, he quoted me for an inferior, only 80% heat-transfer efficient, (non-condensing) Rinnai model. I discovered that, when I asked him if the quote was for was a condensing water heater, he said No. When I looked at him like: Why the hell not, can't you see I previously had a pricey condensing water heater? (It's hanging right there). He went on to say, something to the effect of Well, given the area and the house, this is our [budget] option. That was the SECOND time he had said something to that effect. I smiled and bid him good-day, knowing I would never...ever use their services.Yes, this is a late review, but I was cleaning files, and remembered I wanted to lambaste this company for this offensive, elitist/micro-aggressive, experience. The technician who did the talking has the initials of W.P... Now, I can discard this useless quote.

We had a minor leak on the hot water piping that was probably caused by the bad freeze last February. A valve had cracked and needed to be replaced. Brian from the Hot Water Guys came out the next day and replaced the necessary parts and put everything back together. Very pleased with the service.

Hot Waters Guys came out immediately and fixed my Rheem tankless hot water heater. Dan took care of the issue in a timely manner and proficiently.

From my initial contact with Hot Water Guys to the final installation they were right on point the whole way. They showed up when they said they would every time, and were professional and courteous as well. The estimate was very detailed and Thomas suggested moving my new water heater to a more efficient location in the attic. The men who showed up for the install, Chase and Jake were consummate professionals in their work. They both put forth an energetic effort and their attention to detail and craftsmanship was greatly appreciated. Chase went the extra mile and helped me with a small project, which only took a couple of minutes but saved me a lot of headaches. Our hot water heater went out and many places we called were too busy to even give us a quote for almost a week. Hot Water Guys was able to come out the same day and give us a quote before leaving my house. The quote compared to friends who have had the same service completed was very reasonable. I had a water heater installed and the sensor went out after only a few days of installation. The warranty division through Lowe's Home Improvement routed me to American Warranty company whom then gave me two companies that took care of their warranty work. I contacted the first company which was located out of Galveston. They told me that there would be a $95.00 diagnoses fee, even though it was under warranty. I called the second company Hot Water Guys and spoke with Lauren. I explained what the circumstances were for calling and she asked for the warranty authorization number right away. Warranty work has to be within 25 miles of their office in order to not be charged a trip charge. I'm located 35-40 miles away but the trip charge was only $25.00. A site better then $95.00 under our present circumstances with Covid. I asked Lauren how soon could a Tech be dispatched and I was told the following day. I made the appointment right away. I hired Hot Water Guys to perform a maintenance on our tankless water heater. I paid $185 to have the system flushed. I called back a month later because I noticed the pressure to be somewhat low and it taking 45-60 or so seconds for hot water to come out. I was told that shouldn't be happening so they scheduled the same tech to come back out, to make sure all was working as it should. The tech removed the flow restrictors from 3 shower heads to assist with pressure, which did help some. However, his explanation of why it was taking the water a while to come out hot didn't make any sense to me but told me everything was working fine. I was charged $110 for this. My husband could have removed these at no charge had I been told when calling back that might have something to do with low pressure.After taking their customer satisfaction survey, I got a call from a young lady who explained that the water pressure and water heater have nothing to do with each other, and that 45-60 second delay in hot water was quite normal for the type of system we have, even though I was told when making the initial call, as well as when calling back after the initial service, that it shouldn't take that long for the water to come out hot. We have dual faucets in the primary bathroom, and one of them gets hot almost immediately, where as the other takes almost a full minute but that is supposed to be normal?? I'm not the professional and why I hired them to identify any potential problems and give recommendations & pricing to correct it. Going forward I'll be sure to do my own homework and try and have a better understanding of how the system or appliance is supposed to work instead of relying on someone scheduling a service appointment.My rating is strictly based on the over all value of what I was charged. The ease of scheduling was great; the technician himself was polite, efficient and on time.

My review is to share my experience with Hot Water Guys, began with Britney answering the phone taking my call for assistance, to their technician, Sam, leaving my property after the valve was installed, an impressive success. The valve replacement appointment was originally scheduled for a Friday morning. When I called Britney to advise the part had arrived from Whirlpool the previous afternoon, although it was after 4:00 pm when she and I spoke, she offered the technician could arrive at my residence within 30 minutes. He did. This type of customer service is rare and Hot Water Guys should be recognized for it. Sam the technician was polite, knowledgeable about the install process he was to perform. He spoke in lay mind terms so I could understand after the valve's install, the maintenance of the valve. He showed me how to clean the filter ring and drain and flushed the heater's line, additional things he did for me. Kudos!

Great service! Sam diagnosed a new install issue of 2 Rinnai tankless units that a previous plumbing company installed. Since the original install of 2 months, they didn’t deliver sufficient hot water. Sam with the Hot Water Guys quickly found the issues that the plumbing company failed to install, which included 4 check valves and a reversed hot/cold line at the tankless inputs. We used the Hot Water Guys to install a new tankless gas water heater in our attic. They were very professional and knowledgeable about the different models, maintenance required, part availabilities, etc. They were very quick and finished our job within ~3hrs. Their prices seemed very reasonable. All of the employees did wear masks and cleaned up after themselves. The only wrinkle from perfection was that there was a residual gas smell that lasted a few hours after they left. Upon calling the office back and sending an employee back to investigate, we found out that our ball valve was open when they leaked out the gas line and hence the residual smell. Other than that, would 100% recommend them!

They were able to come out and fix it Unfortunately, they could not come out for 3 days but we trust them for their professionalism and service and wouldn’t want to go elsewhere. Highly recommend!

With all the talk of companies over charging their customers, it's so nice to see a company that is honest with integrity. Well worth the wait to have them come out.

My plumber referred Hot Water Guys to me because he is not too experienced with tankless units. Hot Water Guys tech, Brian, was very professional and knowledgeable. He was able to resolve a leak from our Rinnai tankless water heater. Called the manufacturer to order a new heat exchanger for us, which was covered under warranty. Even though the part took a few days to come in due the holidays and pandemic, Brian came back to install the new heat exchanger and educate us on tankless water heater maintenance that we had no knowledge about. The office staff are friendly and on top of it too. Great customer service, honest, and reputable work. I will continue to use them and refer the company. Hot Water Guys serviced my tankless water heater for routine maintenance. Unfortunately, we had an issue with our hot water shortly afterwards. After trying different things, Hot Water Guys came out two more times to help remedy the problem. They always responded to my requests and we finally found the issue which they corrected for us. Problem fixed, and very reasonably charged. I also used them when my mothers tankless heater went out and Tom came out, looked at the unit and sold me a new unit well below market value. I first called John Moore when my gas control valve went out, and instead of fixing it they charged me a trip charge and spent the whole time trying to sell me a new $3K water heater. I went to the water heater manufacturing website and found the Hot Water Guys listed as a service provider. I called them up they came out the next day and fixed my gas control valve under warranty just $165 for labor. They also checked out my water heater and told me it was just fine and there was no reason for me to replace the tank. I was very impressed with my experience with Hot Water Guys, its hard to know who to trust, but I would recommend these guys to anyone. And, someday when my tank does go out they will be the first company I call.

I have had these guys out to service my Bosch Aquastars twice now. The first time, years ago, the tech was more than helpful and gave us great maintenance tips. This last time, has not gone as smoothly, but I believe it is due to the age of the unit. They have been on time and efficient in service.

Its only 11month old A O Smith boiler.not working call hot water guys. Work is not finish yet. Waiting to Replace the Gas valves.. Sam is. A very nice guy. Work hard to get done.. lets hope it will fix on Monday or Tuesday. And if not Might they replace the whole boiler. Its under Warranty.

We made the right decision to go with Hot Water Guys for the installation of a tankless water heater in our home. He evaluated our water usage needs and recommended the right model. Lauren, the receptionist , is rude, non-patient, speaks over you, speaks too fast, and thinks she knows everything. Had them service my Rinnai two months ago. They cleaned it and said everything is fine. Now they are gonna charge me again for coming out because my Rinnai is acting up again like before. Two months , really ?? Be careful with these “guys”, they only give one month warranty on their work !! Yikes !!It wouldn’t be half as irritating , but I had to deal with Lauren over the phone , the poster child for a rude, know it all “Karen”, who acts like she owns the place, and it would be even worse if she does, because an “owner”, would never speak to a returning customer this way.She threatened to refuse me service because she thinks I spoke over her on the phone and that she “ can’t send a technician into a hostile environment “ , Really ?? We have been having issues with our tankless water heaters (another plumber had told us it was fine). He was able to pinpoint it to the low gas pressure in the house and that we needed a new regulator from Centerpoint. This solved many problems for us - not just the water heater.

Hot Water Guys were great from the initial call to schedule service to answering questions and performing maintenance service for our Rinnai rl94i water heater. They even offered to sign us up for the Rinnai warranty taking one more thing off our plates. I am so thankful we called them. We found them on the Rinnai website and were our second opinion call. I wish I would’ve called them first but am so thankful they are partnered with Rinnai and were honest with us. Turns out our water heater was fine and just needed a service call. Like I said - they will have our business for water heaters going forward! Also very reasonably priced!

I'll start with the fact that I am an engineer and I am admittedly hard to please. I want it done at a reasonable price but I expect quality. I also study and want very specific things (specific brands, recirculation system, location, etc.). The Hot Water Guys did not disappoint in either aspect.I was having my house re-piped so I used this as the opportunity to remove my aged, tanked water heater from inside of the house and replace it with a tankless located in the garage. This required a 50 foot gas-line to be run and multiple visits to stage each installation (gas line and heater, then repipe, then water heater hookup and testing, etc.). Due to the distance of the garage to the kitchen and guest bathroom I also wanted a recirculation loop installed.I received 4 bids to do this job. The Hot Water Guys were not the cheapest but they were very close and were competitive with 3 out of 4. Here’s why I went with HWG vs the cheapest: This is HWGs specialty, the pricing was within 5% of the others, they are a certified Rinnai installer and this was the brand I wanted and they recommended and finally I could tell they were very knowledgeable when Tom, the owner, came out and discussed options and installation with me. I did not get the same impression of knowledge from the others and they were pushing a brand I didn’t want.On the first day of the job (gas line and heater install) I was very impressed with the crew (Edgar, Andrew and Chase). They were polite and paid attention to the little details that most people may have never even noticed. For example, when running the new gas line they installed an isolation valve and an extra tee that was plugged off. While most would not have thought of or taken this extra step, and most home owners would not have noticed, I now have the ability to isolate that section of the gas line and run a drop to my dryer without taking the entire gas system out of service and taking it apart. These little things matter and become big things/big costs in the future and I appreciate this kind of thinking and diligence which never crossed my mind.I was very impressed with Edgar the lead plumber. Again little things like aligning all of the piping in one plane made everything look very nice in the garage. In fact, after the re-pipe guys hooked up to the lines I asked if HWGs would let Edgar come back out to clean up their work. This wasn’t their responsibility to do but Tom accommodated my request and gave me a reasonable price to rework the re-pipe company’s mess. I was very pleased when he was done.I’m very pleased with the results. The recirc logic pump is now set up to turn on every 30 minutes and warm up the hot water line through the house. Once the heater detects that the temperature is 15 degrees less than the set point it turns off. This provides nearly instant hot/warm water at every faucet. I also added a wireless receptacle so I can set a schedule to turn it on/off during certain times of the day. Alternatively I can turn if on/off from anywhere with cell/wireless access.You will not come across a better, more diligent company than this. They are top notch and if you are in the market for a tankless heater I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Highly, highly recommend.

As a Certified Professional Home Inspector, I have reviewed multiple installations by Jake and his partner Chase with the Hot Water Guys. These guys do things right. I wish home builders and other installers would be as thorough as they are. I highly recommend the Hot Water Guys.

Service man was pleasant and knowledgeable. But the first repair didn't correct the problem. He came back and replaced the pilot assembly and hopefully we won't have any more cold showers. I didn't like that I had to pay $35 travel when I am in the greater houston area. But I was ok with it. But the second $35 charge was a but much since it wasn't repaired the first time.

Their service fees are highly uncompetitive. They charged me$145 to tell me my heater board was damaged by electricity but I pretty much knew that because it was struck by lightning. Too many companies offer free diagnosis. I called a second company who came out, diagnosed it was just the board and their total Labor fee to diagnose the problem and replace the board was about the same as they charged just to diagnose the problem. They would not guarantee that board replacement would solve the problem and were essentially trying to sell me a new system. I would never consider using these guys again. There are good companies hungry for work and these guys think they are entitled to charge outrageous fees. There are much better options out there.

These guys are the best! They were HONEST, on time and over the top nice. When it turned out that my hot water heater only needed the reset button reset, Dan did so AND did not charge me at all. I will definitely call them again in the future!

My wife called and described the problem in detail. The technician came for 10 minutes and diadgnosed the problem we had diagnosed and said he would have to return with the part which he did not have with him. I paid him $145 for the diagnosis. He returned in a couple of days with the part and charged by wife $100 for the return visit plus $166 for the part. In the 7 or 8 houses my wife and I have owned over 40 years we have dealt with dozens of repair people who have learned that they needed a part to complete a job. NEVER have we been charged for both the return trip. AVOID THESE PEOPLE. THERE ARE AT LEAST 2 OTHERS TANK-LESS WATER HEATER PEOPLE IN THE HOUSTON AREA. They responded with a pack of lies. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS. Cheats and liars to boot.

Sam, with Hot Water Guys, did an exceptional job completely flushing out our Tankless Hot Water Hearer, in our upstairs attic. He removed all the Special Alkaline Rocks at the bottom of our Tankless Hot Water Heater. He Replaced the old Alkaline Rocks with a new Bed of Alkaline Rocks. These Rocks absorb The Acid that is located in all Water that is Heated in Homes using Tankless Hot Water Systems. This maintenance is definitely required every fifteen to eighteen months so that the excess Acid Does Not Eat into and weaken or destroy the structural integrity of the plumbing pipes in Your Home. Sam also Descaled various components and piping inside The Tankless Hot Water Unit itself. This took Him the better part of one and one-half Hours to complete. A very thorough job on an extremely important Home Appliance. I would recommend Sam and Hot Water Guys to anyone who requires that either Their Tankless Hot Water Heater or other Gas Hot Water Heaters, require either General Maintenance or Repairs. I had no hot water and they cleaned the sensor and flushed the system. I used these guys to install the Rinnai tankless hot water system in the first place in 2017.

The error code on my unit that was presented to me didn’t reveal the exact problem. The Hot Water Guys technician was able to diagnose and fix my Navien tankless water heater by replacing a part.

May be the best experience I've ever had with any contractor I've ever dealt with. I had to decide whether to replace a bad hot water heater tank (just 3 yrs old) or go with a tankless system. Met with several plumbers to enquire about the pros and cons of the two different systems. After meeting with Hot Water Guys (and a lot of research), I chose to go with a tankless system. And so glad I did! From beginning to end, these guys were polite, knowledgable, and completely professional. If you're considering a tankless system, then these guys are defenately the way to go! I use a tank-less water heater installed by Hot Water Guys every day and love it. They have a very friendly and professional staff and they seemed to go out of there way to help me and were happy to do so. Highly recommend.

They come in and charge us almost $400 but cannot even diagnose the hot water problem correctly and told us there is city plumb line problem. we have to call another master plumber to identify which parts need to switch and get it fixed.The office person is very rude said we have to pay for even just for the trip of $400. They have no expertise in this line of business at all. If you couldn't identify correct parts, DO NOT BLAME on city plumbing line.---Comments on owner: Your wrong diagnose of City Plumbing line problem cost our hotel 3 weeks of on and off HOT WATER with complaints from our guests with refunds of their stay. We have to get other master plumber with correct diagnose and switched a correct parts and magically, it has been fixed with no issue ever since. I guess your company need to look into maybe stick with residential Boiler system???

I had a defective Honeywell Gas Valve replaced by the Hot Water Guys under warranty from State Water Heaters on Oct 1. After the installation repair, my wife occasionally noticed the smell of the sulfur from the natural gas when she goes in the garage. On Oct 19 morning I was overwhelmed with the smell as I left for work. I did the soapy water test on all the connections around the water heater. The brass fitting that connects the pilot tubing to the Honeywell controller was loose. It took a 1/4 turn to tighten it. I contacted the Hot Water Guys asking for a partial refund. They have refunded the total cost of the service call and have made an adjustment to their employee roster.

I have used these guys over and over. We had three properties in Galveston and one in Clear Lake where we had tankless water heaters installed years ago. when we moved up to Houston, we had them install them in my studio, house, my son's house and my mother's house. It is a great space saver to get rid of the old huge hot wanter heats with the tanks. And great to have when you need a constant amount of hot water (like holidays) They recently repiped our home and our son's home. Wow! Much better water pressure and better quality of water coming out of the pipes.

They cleaned my tankless water heater. In and out in under an hour, went fine with no issues.

They did a water tank flush of a 50 gallon eleven-year-old 40000 BTU tank. Brian was our tech and he was fantastic very knowledgeable

I was told that a tankless would require less space in my tight attic than my 2 water heaters, so after saving for a year and upgrading to give me more attic space, I find the installer put the the tankless and drain lines in the perfect spots to make all the extra space unusable. I was also told that the Rinnai would monitor itself for leaks and notify me - there is no pan leak detector provided connected to the system. I will have to use my old school liquid alarms for the pan. I was also told by Rinnai on 10/9/18 that the app has been updated and the only reason for the bad rating is that they are based on an old firmware / module /app developer issue... not the case. I can connect to the system but chaning the temp on my app doesn't change the temp on the water heater. There is also no way to change the recirc. pump on the heater itself- you must use the faulty app. In the 2 hours since it was installed, I have already started regretting my decision to install a tech-friendly space-saving, less risk of leaks, water heater - The Rinnai installed by Hot Water Guys is anything but.
