We had NLKD refinish out pool deck. This was not an easy job as they had to remove some old fake rocks from deck and pour new concrete in the spaces. THEY did and fantastic job. It was just unbelievable the difference it made. We liked the work so much we had them finish some other deck areas the following year. What was most impressive was communication and follow through. Both times they were prompt and on time, clean up was awesome and kept us informed all along the way. Their professional work and attitude was extremely refreshing compared to the wham bam work we have experienced with other contractors we have used. They will make your project a breeze. We recently completed a full tear-out kitchen and master bath replacement with Homework Remodels in our mid-century home (built 1957). It was the second major project on which we engaged Steve Shinn and company. The first was about ten years ago for an addition to our home that added an office/bedroom, laundry room, garage extension, new roof, painting and changes to front and rear patios.

Doing such an extensive project that involved all trades gave us the opportunity to really get to know Steve, the quality of work from his team, and the way he runs his business. Needless to say, we were very satisfied and had no hesitation calling Homework Remodels for this latest project.

We were very pleased to see that Steve was not only still in business following the recession that clobbered so many local companies, but actually had grown his business over that time. Knowing that Steve takes a long-term approach to managing his business, and having seen his dedication to customer satisfaction, we were not surprised to see that Homework Remodels flourished. We had uncertainties about other contracting firms, so we went with the one we knew and with whom we already had a good experience. We had confidence in Homework Remodels, so it was a pretty easy decision.

One of the changes we found, that was of great value to us, is that Steve now had an in-house designer, Sheila, whose experience and expertise was obvious from our first meeting. It made tackling such a large project a much more comfortable experience. Sheila provided a lot of information on materials, fixtures, and design, and told us where to find more on our own.

The Homework team provided guidance every step of the way and did a great job. I would recommend them for their quality of work and great customer service.

These guys were very professional, clean, respectful to our house, and finished repairs fast enough. I am glad that I chose them to manage my project. They are simply the best!

Austin and his team at RafterHouse have done a fantastic job building a strong brand in the Arcadia neighborhood. My wife and I were presented with an opportunity to build a home with them this year, and we’re currently in the process of building. I don't ever give reviews but this company deserves it!!! I got their name from a neighbor that was very happy with her roof and I am glad I called them. Sean came by to look at my roof. He was on time, polite, and knowledgeable. He thoroughly explained the process from beginning to end and answered all of my questions. He sent over a quote within a suitable time. The price was reasonable so I decided to go with them. When Brian and his crew were replacing the roof they were on time everyday, they cleaned up during the work and at the end of each day. They even removed my old satellite dish. Once the roof was complete Brian met with me to look at the roof to ensure satisfaction. Sean also reached out to ensure I did not have any questions or concerns. Now on to quality...I am a very picky person but this roof is beautiful! The pictures don't do justice. I am very happy with the service this company provides. I will be recommending them to anyone that I hear needs roof work. Thank you Sean, Brian and crew!

Can’t speak to the quality of the work, as it never took place. Contacted company, requested a quote, sent pics of the job and a description, was told I would have a quote soon. Over the course of a week, I was told “will email the quote this afternoon”, “will e mail the quote within the hour” “I’m working on it right now and will send it”. All those were on different days. So, if someone can’t give you a quote when they say they will, how can you trust they will actually show up to do the work? My advice would be to avoid this company, regardless of how nice the pics on his site look. Not reputable or responsible.
