We engaged with Closets by Designs Arizona for design and installation of a pantry closet. The design solution we wanted presented a challenge because of the dimensions and layout of the pantry closet. My husband, an architect with over 40 years of experience, discussed the complexity of the closet with the designer. He was skeptical but was assured the Closet by Design designer and installers could provide the solution we wanted.

Fast forward 4 months later and 2 weeks before installation, the designer/sales person comes to the house with the actual maker/installer - Eric. Eric tells us he cannot make the system as we wanted and the designer originally designed. His only solution substantially compromises the design and storage space. We contact the designer/sales person to stop the project, continue with install of another project (laundry) and ask the deposit for the pantry closet be applied to the balance due on the other project (laundry room). The matter is escalated to management that at first refuses to return our deposit, then relents to apply to balance remaining project but keeps the portion of deposit remaining.

The issue with Closet by Design is they misrepresented their capabilities. No one in the organization has taken responsibility for overselling the project or misrepresenting their capabilities. The sales person/designer knew 4 months in advance of the install there was problem with design. The maker told her so.

We did proceed with the installation of the second project, the laundry room. The installers did an excellent job under difficult circumstances. Let it be known the sales/designer nor any other person in the organization contacted us to ask if we were satisfied with the work.

I've written to Mr. Gil Santos - owner/CEO of Closet by Design Az. He has yet to acknowledge or reply to my letter. Makes me question his character and moral leadership.

When I give a business thousands of dollars four (4) months in advance, then they play with my money and a couple of weeks before they begin to build tell me they can't deliver on their design, I expect a full refund on my deposit. They oversold their capabilities. If you want to due business with an ethical company do not do business with Closet by Design of Arizona.
