My wife and I did a lot of research collecting and formulating in advance our goals for our kitchen remodel. Steve Shinn and Aaron Thomas were extremely professional in every phase of the project. Our 1981 semi-custom home in Tempe was not an open floorplan by design. Steve listened and looked at all our research and together we came up with solutions that met our expectations and budget. Steve applied the classic work space triangle concept that is the cornerstone to making our new kitchen chef friendly. He included some extras like the pull out vertical pantry cabinets, deep appliance drawer cabinets and two waist-high spice drawers that are all utilized daily. Soffits were removed to allow full height upper cabinets greatly expanding cabinet capacities.

We wanted the warm look and feel of wood cabinetry. In particular we liked the minimum reveal look associated with modern European style cabinets. Steve did trade-off comparisons for us on locally crafted vs factory cabinets from the east coast. The local source worked out well as some unplanned adjustments were quickly crafted with little delay to the project.

We further challenged Steve with our lighting and power requirements. We have zoned ceiling lighting with small LED can lights as LED's were then becoming reasonably priced. All the appliance power outlets are hidden under the cabinets and under the granite breakfast bar. This solution allowed for a plug free stainless steel continuous backsplash with under cabinet mounted LED lighting.

In summary: Our experience using Homework Remodels was beyond our expectations. They should be high on your list to talk to and see if they can be the solution you have been looking for your remodel.

XLT Construction, also installed new cabinets. The XLT team worked diligently to make sure all was done correctly, coming back whenever I ask them to making minor adjustments. Sadly, one team member became ill and was hospitalized, so there was a slight delay in finishing the cabinet installation. All-in-all they did a very nice job.

Used the Handyman Connection today for the first time. Our handyman was Rob who was excellent. He was professional, showed up early, finished the job under budget and in less time than he originally said it would take. I mean really? He must not have received the contractor hand book (show up late, under bid and under deliver while being rude). Couldn't be happier and we will be requesting Rob in the future.

Our job was a simple drywall patch but it covered a large area and he managed to match the existing texture perfectly.

Brian and his team previously did a major remodel of my master bath including removing soffits, installing new cabinetry, counter tops, plumbing, lighting, freestanding tub as well as expanding the shower,. They did an excellent job, showed up on time and worked daily on the project through completion. Brian and his team just finished a major redo of my laundry room , replaced all our can lights with LEDs throughout the house, added four can lights to our family room and master bedroom as well as replaced our water softener. They did another phenomenal job.
