TL;DR Express Roofing is the best contractor I have ever worked with.
The home improvement industry is full of people ready to overcharge and scam you, it’s unfortunately a fact. It’s the industry that has the highest number of unsatisfied customers, and we quickly learned why. We’ve had contractors not show up for weeks at a time, we’ve had contractors attempt to scam us out of over $10K of insurance money just because they knew how much we received from our insurance company, and we even had a company try to pressure us into a new roof that would’ve cost $40,000 (for our 1200sq/ft home).
Enter: Express Roofing. We got 5 different roofing quotes when it was time to focus on that aspect of our home. Every other quote was reasonable, and the companies seemed reputable. But Jeremy from Express Roofing offered something different from the rest. Not only was he not a salesmen looking to earn a commission if we signed right away, but he was representing his own personal family business. His father Rene is the owner of the company, and Jenna, who I believe is Jeremy’s sister, handles the office work and was the one who provided the estimate documents and scheduling. We decided to go with Express Roofing because of the fact that they are a small, local, family owned business and have been for many years. It also helped that their quote was very reasonable, and they could start the project quicker than anyone else.
They gave us an estimate of when the project would start, and it lined up perfectly with when we expected to get financing from our bank. However, we received a call about 3 weeks before our estimated project start date letting us know that they can actually start ahead of schedule. Normally that would be great, but we knew our financing wouldn’t be ready until after they had completed. I spoke with Rene and he said it’s okay if we waited until after the work was done to pay. Their crew (non-subcontractors which is very important), completed the project in 3-4 days. They were the most polite crew that we have ever had work on our home, which is saying a lot when you consider how disruptive a new roof can be to the people living inside of the home. Roofing is also a very messy process. However, if you walked around our yard after they had cleaned up, you would have never known they were even there in the first place. Not only that, but I came outside at one point and saw that one of the workers was repairing loose boards on our back gate – something that was already broken when they arrived! The new roof looked perfect, and the crew did an amazing job on every single aspect.
This is when we ran into an issue. We found out that due to our bank being understaffed, our financing was being delayed. I quickly updated Jeremy and we agreed on paying half now, and half in about a week when the bank finished processing the loan. A week goes by, and the bank still isn’t done. I know how much of a problem this is because Express Roofing needs the money to pay their workers and pay for the materials. We fully expected to be sent to collections due to our delay in payment, but right away Rene contacted me. He told us that he built his company on understanding, and if they are a blessing to each of their customers surely it will come back around and allow his business to prosper. He said they are okay with waiting a little bit longer until the bank is able to finish the loan processing.
If that doesn’t convince you to hire Express Roofing for anything you might need, I don’t know what will. They are a living embodiment of the ever dwindling American Dream. A family run business that is more concerned with treating their customers the right way than they are making as much money as they can. I’m sure I don’t have to draw a distinction at this point, but that is something that you will never, ever find when dealing with any kind of corporation. The home improvement world did its best to ruin my family’s excitement about our small fixer-upper, but Express Roofing repaired that damage overnight.

ProWest was very professional, gave me many honest perspectives toward replacing my 30 year old tile roof. I actually chose to reuse existing tiles and replace all the underlayment and replace broken tile as needed. They did a fantastic job blending old and new. All the flashings were replaced and painted to blend with the roof. My neighbors think the tiles are brand new!! I do industrial construction for s living and i tell my guts that the job is not done until everything cleaned up 100%.When ProWest completed the job i could not even tell they were there! Forgot to mention I got this all done from 2,000 miles away and never had a single issue. I can’t express how happy I am with the job they did?Thank you ProWest

Charlie was terrific and so is his crew. Seven of them came up to Payson in one day ripped off to roofs on the house and the garage and finished it. Professional courteous Timely and friendly. Just purchased a new house in Scottsdale Rio Verde area. The inspector found the roof to be in need of replacement. I called 3 roofing contractors and All City came out when they said and gave me a fair price. Mike the estimator spent time to explain the process and followed up with me to help us get the roof installation set up and completed.

The tile roof came out so nice and they finished when they said they would. I am recommending this company for anyone who needs a roof for their home. Thank you so much!

I highly recommend The Roof Medics. I use them for my business and also my personal residence. We recently had all of the roofing paper replaced, along with some of the plywood, on our 25 year old roof and they did a great job. The crews were professional, prompt and clean.

Had a roof leak on the backside of my house. Third one in our 27 year old roof. Had Jim at Canyon State Roofing come out and give me a estimate to reroof the house. They removed the tile, replaced the underlayment, broken tiles and also had them replace the trim board below the bird stop. They did it in a timely manner and kept everything tidy and clean during the process. Would recommend them to others.

Worse experience. Ever. Ma and Pa operation of the worse kind; the owner & operators -- Ma being “Debbie” wife of “Daniel” – must have a few relatives which accounts for their fake high-star reviews.

Contacted Debbie around the end of December, 2015, to arrange for a roof repair estimate. For the next two months – yes, MONTHS, got one runaround after another from Debbie and one promise after another the roof would be inspected “within the next couple of weeks” down to the next “couple of days”. Inspection never happened and I abandoned the effort this date, February 25, 2016.

First, there is the question of honesty and integrity. If this small shop did not have the time or talent to inspect the roof, the honest thing to do would have been to say so. Imagine if you are unlucky enough – after weeks of waiting – to have Daniel re-roof or repair you property and then try to have Daniel return to correct a mistake. Good luck with that.

The combination of ALLROOFS and GAF can't be beat. As a Master Elite Roofer ALLROOFS applied the highest standards to my GoldenPledge Roof; no detail was overlooked and I had the additional benefit of having the manufacturer (GAF) warrant my roof. GAF even came out and inspected the roof themselves. I feel confident the roof will be around longer after I am gone.
