Ken did a great job on several items around my home. He was able to quickly diagnose the problem and effectuate the solution. Moreover his prices were very fair. It’s great to find a true professional like Ken Hartless.

I hired them through the Thumbtack App to look at some wiring and make sure the wires are cleaned up and terminated. They charged me $135 for a service call and $95 for labor and did not provide this estimate up front. Their technician comes, no mask on, no ladder, asks to step on my furniture to get to things, and then does nothing but removes two little boxes. Couldn’t even spare me a piece of electrical tape to terminate my wires. Then says that will be $230! I cannot in good faith recommend this company. They charge too much and then play that game of “he said she said” after you complain. Poor value and a complete racket!
Edit: There are always two sides to every story and simply put, an estimate was not provided. If they had told me it was going to be $230 and I was willing to pay that for them to come and basically do nothing, would I be writing this review now? No. Simply put the pricing was not done upfront. I would especially warn residential customers to beware of these predatory pricing tactics. Also, just a side note -I was by the technician’s side the whole time because he wouldn’t stop talking and he was rushing through his inspection. On more than one occasion I recall saying I will let him get to work, and go back to my home office. He just kept talking- wouldn’t stop. He did not offer to go get his ladder either he just looked at me as if he expected me to go get mine. I only agreed to this company because another company had not returned my call on Thumbtack and I was in a hurry. It is an insult to continue to act as if you all graced me with your presence. The only good from this is it is a lesson learned and now I know who to avoid. Furthermore, my hopes are that my review informs other customers of my experience so that they do not fall victim to what has happened to me.

I purchased an entire new unit from Metro Energy in May 2019. Within 2 years the capacitor went bad. I paid for it not realizing it was a part that was under warranty. In Feb 2022 the heat went out. They came and said my unit was dirty and tried to sell me filters and a 3k cleaning system. Two days later the heat went out again. They came back out and repaired it. They performed maintenance on the unit late March 2022, still trying to sell me their filters and cleaning system. Fast forward to this month and the heat goes out again. This time the motor is blown. Their only reasoning each time they have to come out is that my filter is dirty and cause the unit to clog. I change my filters like clockwork every 30 days using the reminder on the thermostat. I googled dirty filters and my filter that has been in the unit for 20 days looks nothing like the filthy filters pictured. Even though the motor was under warranty, I got hit with a labor charge of over $400 for less than an hours work. When I called to speak to someone about the price of labor, I was told I would get a call back from a manager but that has not happened. From the reviews that I have read other customers have purchased new systems around the same time that I did and their units are breaking down every few months as well. It looks as if the product is subpar or we were not given new units that we were told we were getting. I used Metro Energy for over 15 years but now that I know I can use the manufacturer's authorized dealers, I will be finding a new HVAC company to service my unit because there is no reason for a brand new unit 3 years old to be having problems every 6 months and they are constantly blaming it on the filters while trying to sell their additional products. Something needs to be done regarding these bad units. #classaction
