Our home had an electrical box from the 60's which was likely the same time as when the service wires from the street were installed. In the middle of a Sunday night I was woken up by a loud bang and all of our lights flickering. I went to the basement to find the wires entering the house scorched, smoking, and buzzing. Since the wires in the wall were still live, we shut the power off to the house. I spent the rest of the night with a flashlight, fire extinguisher, and googling local electricians.Since this was an emergency situation I called several electricians the next morning with the hope someone would get back to me asap. Lauterborn Electric had great reviews and even had examples of our exact issue on their website so my hope was to get through to them.One of the reviews had mentioned to call the mobile # for Lauterborn and to not be discouraged if you went to the voicemail because Larry, the owner, would call you back in a few minutes. Sure enough, this is exactly what happened. I left a voicemail and he called me back within 5 minutes. No other electrician called me back, still hasn't.Larry was very friendly, listened to my issues, and said he would be out that afternoon to look into it. Him and his son Larry showed up, assessed the wires, let me know exactly what I needed and the exact cost it would be and that they could get it done the next day. They also cut the lines to the house so I didn't have a live wire in my wall over night.Sure enough, they showed up when they said they would the next day and finished everything up by that afternoon. Larry and his sons were very courteous, kept the work space clean, and took any residual trash with them.I have some electrical knowledge so I can tell you the work they did was beyond exceptional, they built a wall for the new service box and meter, they installed all of our existing circuits into the new box extremely neatly, they properly grounded everything with the cold water line and a ground rod (which you don't typically have in older row homes), weather proofed and protected the service line from the street all the way down and into the house, and did it all at a great price.I can't say enough good things about these guys. Larry said they do work all over, but we're in Port Richmond so they're local and will be who we call for any electrical work in the future. Thanks again Larry.

Andi and EP Electric are terrific electric contractors. They did a fantastic and professional job in replacing the old 100amp panel by installing a new 200amp panel for my 2262 sq feet rental townhouse in East Falls. And as far as i can tell, they have all the expertise and they covered all the bases for me. I cannot be more satisfied with their work. And their price is fair and reasonable, as far as I am concerned! Andi is particularly easy to communicate. It was a total pleasure working with them. Also, Andi did a thorough inspection of the electric work done by my general contractors for my basement-finishing project. He was very meticulous in noting a few code violations. He's the exact gate keeper that I need, or every home owner needs, for critical projects. To sum, the best thing I like about Andi and EP is that they are meticulous (in covering all the bases for me), very skilled, and using no-nonsense approach! And their charges are fair and reasonable! EP is, and would be, my No.1 preferred electric contractor for any electric work, big or small, so long as they are available and interested in helping me!

My husband and I were really disappointed to find out after the inspection of our future home that it would need to be completely rewired for safety purpose. We needed trustworthy electricians to get it done fast, well, and for a reasonable price so we could enjoy our first home as homeowners with peace of mind. We got three different quotes from Gen3 with different tiers of service and cost. I sent those quotes to multiple electricians to see if they could do better on price. iTech got back to me immediately. They said they would only do the top tier job so they could bring us up to code AND said they'd do it for 5k less than the Gen3 guys! Tony, Edison, and crew were responsive, respectful, knowledgeable, quick, thorough, and thoughtful in their work. They treated our home as if it were their own and cleaned up each time they left. They were flexible with our schedule and tolerant of our two small dogs even though the little one can be a little unwelcoming. They will be taking care of the electric in our house from now on. In fact, I called Tony today because we had a small problem with the bathroom switch. He came out right away and replaced the switch! Just like that! Thanks so much, iTech. I don't have enough kind and amazing words to say about Express power. John and Eric were by far the best contractors I have ever had in my home. Firstly, John came right out to my house to give me a formal estimate of a complete house re-wire to replace old knob and tube and to upgrade to 200 amp service. The price was by far better than the 3 other quotes I received. They were able to change scheduling when I had issues with the closing on my house which was so helpful and accommodating. The work was done in an incredibly clean manner and they explained everything as the work progressed. They left the home completely clean from all material and trash. John and Eric were very respectful, kind, and generous even helping us with extra patch work in drywall.
