Chris is amazing. We bought a house with a known long-standing drainage and flooding problem, and found out how bad it was only two months into home ownership, when our sunken living room flooded. Several contractors estimated $20-$30K to rip out and replace the entire area drainage, without even knowing what or where the actual problem was. Chris spent over an hour with us explaining the most common problems, and providing substantial free expertise. He brought his equipment the next day and cleaned out our area drainage system, removing 30+ years of dirt, rocks, and roots. He also pinpointed the real problem: a redwood root that completely crushed the drain pipe. He even ran through our sewer pipe as a bonus and found where the original landscapers put a hole in the pipe to plant a bush that was slowly clogging it. Thanks to his camera diagnostics, we could see the problems clearly. We can make some of the fixes ourselves and are ultimately spending a few thousand, rather than replacing the entire system AND eventually having the sewer clog (yuck!). We will absolutely be hiring him to come back and do regular maintenance so our drainage doesn't get full of roots again. I highly recommend him - he has the tools and the expertise to find the problem areas so you aren't flying blind trying to fix things, and he is great at showing and explaining what happened so we can avoid repeating the mistakes the prior homeowner made. I was very impressed from the moment I called in to schedule a service call. The professionalism from Andrew and Natalie to Omar the service technician made me feel very comfortable. They were able to come out the same day and also fix my heater the same day. I was very happy with the communication and how quick they were able to come out. They responded very quickly to our call and set what I believed to be a fair price for cleaning out a drain. While here we asked them to do some other repairs. They did the repairs but charged us the fixed rate of $150 for each repair (cartridge replacement) as if we had called them to our house for that specific repair. In other words, had we called them to make 1 cartridge replacement and they came for that specific reason the charge would have been $150, which presumably would have covered travel time and expense. They charged the same rate even though they were already at our home. Consequently, we wound up being charged a total of $510 (which included parts) for less than 1 hours work (although there were 2 men here). In checking with two other plumbers we were told that once the men were on site and the charge for the initial visit was covered by the original repair, they would not have charged the full set rate for each additional repair. I feel the charges were exorbitant and unfair.
And they had to come back the next day to refix one of the toilets they had repaired. Which they did promptly and without additional charge.
