I would highly recommend against using Roto Rooter in Tulsa. The work they did was good and very fast. The issue was with the billing. We knew they charged by the hour so I timed the technician as soon as he pulled up to my house and until he left for good. Long story short, the technician found the leak and offered to do the work right there on the spot and told me he had all tools necessary to do it right away. About an hour into it he told me he broke his drill bit and needed to go buy a new one. From the time he pulled up until the time he left my house with the job completed, It was 5 hours. Of those 5 hours, the technician spent approximately 45 minutes total in his van and approximately 1 hour gone to get a new drill bit. When we paid, we were not given a breakdown of the invoice and it was emailed later. After reviewing the invoice I noticed we were charged for 6 hours of labor and $63.63 for a drill bit and tape. When I called to dispute this, I spoke with a man named Doug. He agreed we should not have been charged for the drill bit but explained to me that if a technician has to leave for parts, the customer pays for that time. I asked why I would have to pay for him to get a drill bit and then also pay for the drill bit itself, which I did not receive. After playing phone tag for a few days, Doug called back and informed me he would only be refunding roughly $26 for the drill bit and only a half hour of labor because the customer has to also pay for the time it takes the technician to drive back to the office to drop off supplies (he made it seem like he was doing me a favor). I argued that he was only in my house working on the job for 3 hours and 35 minutes (I timed him). Even though he was in the van for part of that time, I did not argue that. I simply argued that I shouldn't be charged for time it took him to go buy a drill bit that he broke (this was also conveniently during the lunch hour). Doug then said he was buying parts that weren't listed on my invoice. I told him I wanted a list of all the parts he bought because he told me up front he had everything he needed. Doug refused to provide those. He also stated that the drill bit only costs $26 and some change and when I told him I was charged over $63, he used the same excuse stating there are other parts not mentioned on the invoice. He refused to provide that information. In the end he told me I couldn't be appeased but he would credit me another half hour of labor. So still in the end I was charged for 1.5 hours of labor (5 total) that I didn't received and nearly $40 more for a drill bit that I did not receive either. The technician was nice and did good work but their billing is very shady and I would highly recommend staying away from them. The works is good but they fraudulently charge. I even asked for the GPS times to be provided to me to see if they lined up with the time I had. Doug refused to provide those, likely because it would support my argument. Far more reputable plumbers out there to choose from, steer clear of Roto Rooter.
