There was no MISUNDERSTANDING in our call for service. We had a leaky shower/tub faucet and a leaky toilet. It doesn't get any simpler than that. We were advised that there was ABSOLUTELY NO WAY to fix the leaky faucet for the tub/shower. The plumber claimed that she didn't know the brand of the faucet and it would take HOURS to find the parts, if the parts could be found - AND that our only real resolution was to either 1) put in a free-standing tub that could only be a tub and not a shower or 2) to completely GUT our bathroom to put in a walled shower/tub unit. In addition, we would have to hire a Project Manager with them, to coordinate all the re-doing and going-ons in our bathroom. Remember, it started with a leaky faucet, A. Kai? Moving onto the American Standard toilet that had a leak - she didn't have the parts on her van. ??? Considering that I was behind a Monona Plumbing van on the way home that was going under the speed limit on the beltline, I can see why they don't have parts on their van. The SLOW commute to get parts surely adds to the bill. And talking about the bill, the plumber left without giving us a bill or a quote. We had to call their billing dept. to be told it was going to cost us $300 to fix the toilet and get an earful about gutting the bathroom and our choice of free-standing tubs. We called another plumber who arrived and knew right off the bat the brand of the tub/shower faucet - said that it was an excellent brand - and that HE HAD THE PARTS RIGHT ON HIS VAN! Wow! What a concept. The leak was fixed in under 10 minutes. There was no mention of needing to gut our bathroom to fix a leak. Beware of Monona Plumbers. You might get your bathroom gutted for no real reason in your favor.

We had a leak in our free-standing tub/shower. The Monona plumber said that there was NO way to fix it - she wouldn't be able to get the parts - AND that we would need to completely remodel our bathroom, get rid of our tub/shower, hire a parts Coordinator through Monona Plumbing to get the job done, and oh! put in a tub and not a shower. LOL. (I can laugh about it now.) We called a different plumber after that - who said that the tub/shower faucet we had was an excellent brand - and it was fixed in less than 10 minutes. (He didn't need to get in his van and drive around to get the part. He already had it, unlike the Monona plumber to fix our American standard toilet.) Now there is no dripping. No having to replace our tub/shower. No need to gut our freaking bathroom. Problem solved. If you have a plumbing issue, go with a pro, and not a company that doesn't know plumbing products. Not all houses are going to be the same age with the same parts and stuff.

H.J. Pertzborn Plumbing & Fire Protection has EARNED my business for life. I certainly suggest you let them EARN yours as well.
I've called H.J. Pertzborn on various occasions for differing plumbing related issues. On each and every occasion they've provided unmatched professionalism, expertise, generosity, politeness, understanding and an extreme sense of urgency.
For example, my latest call to H.J. Pertzborn was for an unexpected water heater failure in a new home. Unfortunately, the home inspection failed to mention that the water heater was 26 years old. Needless to say, it needed replacement. H.J. Pertzborn removed the old water heater & installed the new water heater the same exact day that I called and within a couple of hours. Not to mention, I didn't even need to be home. By the time I returned home for lunch, everything was completely taken care of. Not only was everything completely taken care of, but the cost was incredibly competitive. One of the many times H.J. Pertzborn Plumbing & Fire Protection has blown my expectations out of the water.
If you have a plumbing issue, call H.J. Pertzborn. They'll make you a customer for life.
