TL;DR Joe kept 3400 dollars for a job he never did. Said he'd pay me back, sans the hours he put in trying to diagnose my problem/messing with my pipes, and now seems to be ghosting me.

Had a flood in a bathroom from the base of the toilet. Joe looked at it, figured we had a slab leak. Asked for a 3400 dollar down payment to deal with it by tunneling under the house. We saw his reviews and trusted him, and paid him.

He kept showing up hours later than he said he'd be, and a flushed toilet caused another flood, leading us to doubt his diagnosis. He was gonna deal with the clog, but he still believed their was a slab leak.

He said he'd come deal with it at 7. My girlfriend got up early to let him in; he showed up at 9 but had to leave almost right away because he didn't have the right equipment or he needed to drive his girlfriend to work.

Last straw for us. We told him we were just gonna hire a big corporate plumber to get it over with fast. He was polite, said he'd pay us back the down payment.

We called in another plumber, they showed up, used a camera snake to find the clog, demolished it, and were gone within one hour. 600 bucks. They said they found no sign of a slab leak.

Joe suddenly got real hard to get ahold of. He hasn't replied to a text or call in... 4 or 5 days now? Been over a week since we let him go.

Last time we talked, and I told him I was freaked about the chance of him walking with my money, he said I'm not that guy.

I honestly don't get it. I'm starting to wonder if he ever honestly believed there was a slab leak, or if he just thought we looked like a couple gullible idiots. I guess he was right, if so.

We have used My Local Plumber three times now. One was for a pin hole leak in an interior pipe. One for a slab leak. And the last time to have the entire house replumbed, including the water main from the water meter.

We were very happy with the work done by My Local Plumber the first two times. The second time, with the slab leak, Eddie, from My Local Plumber, told us that the possibility of more slab leaks in the future were possible. He was right.

We decided to have the entire house re-plumbed rather than fight with more leaks that would cause us to tear up our flooring and slab. We called My Local Plumber and an HVAC/Plumbing/Electrical company.

The other company sent someone out to gather the information to make a bid. Before he left, he said that it was NOT feasible to replumb the house. He also DID NOT volunteer services for finding the existing slab leak.

Enter My Local Plumber and our personal hero, Felipe. He spent quite a bit of time looking at the existing plumbing and how it could be re-routed into the attic. He prepared a detailed bid and we accepted.

We now have new plumbing from the water main into the house and to every fixture/outlet in the house. This Includes the outside faucets. And none of it susceptible to damage from the clay under the house.

We are extremely happy with the work that the crew did and would recommend My Local Plumber to anyone for any work.

Excellent service provided well beyond expectation. They were very professional from the moment I contacted Patrick about our water pipe leak to the moment Jon resolved our issue. I felt assured that he and his team were very trustworthy, and were giving me honest and reliable information for the best available options to fix our slab leak. On the day of the project, Jon and his team found some hidden piping route irregularities that were caused by the previous homeowner. Instead of just casting those aside and proceeding with the simpler job we originally agreed to, Jon went ahead and fixed the new issues that were found as well. The added work was very labor intensive and they surely did not have to do so. The fact they did without any hesitation, or added charge, and provided us with a much more modern cold water pipe line, as well as completely fixing our original leak issue was incredible. My experience with Cathedral Plumbing was great! Brandon Harrison came out late in the evening due to a clog in our main sewage pipe. He is extremely knowledgeable and took the time to explain the possible causes and early signs of detection. He exceeded my expectations! Highly recommend.
