Tarvin Plumbing has taken excellent care of our plumbing installations and repairs for 36 years at 3 houses. Toilets, faucets, disposal, outdoor hydrant, boiler, hot water heaters... Scheduling is responsive and specific so you don't have to wait around. All the plumbers are knowledgable, do excellent work, and are tidy and just very nice people.

I have received good and reliable service from Tarvin over the past couple of years. They have been friendly, fast and easy to work with. They did not do more work than was necessary and tried to estimate the cost and get approval before doing the work. Their prices were not a bargain but were fair.

Called in Apollo first and they couldn't unplug the drain (but still charged me). Suggested I spend thousands of dollars cutting the wall and pipe out.

Professionals that do professional work. Not cheap and they don't do cheap work. You get what you pay for. I have hired them a few times and sometimes they aren't available for emergency work but other than that I would recommend them for any plumbing/electrical work.

Tarvin Plumbing was extremely responsive and professional when our old hot water heater died. The morning after it died, I called Tarvin and they were at my home with a new hot water heater TWO HOURS later! They were efficient in installing it. There was a weld that did not hold, and they came quickly when we discovered that and fixed it quickly. Their pricing was fair. Tarvin will be our plumber from now on.

Today I had Phil come and replace a leaky shut off valve for the dishwasher and I also had Phil replace the shut off valves at the meter. Highly recommend Tarvin Plumbing. Moved into my condo and needed their service because my new washing machine was flooding the laundry room. They took care of the plumbing and then also explained to me the way the washer was set up incorrectly. The other company hadn't locked my machine and did a poor job with my dryer vent hose too. He told me exactly what to say to them and how to approach it. My experience with Tarvin's was very professional and I would recommend them to anyone.

I called to get a quote on a project. I was told that they would be glad to come out to give an appraisal for a fee of $90 (which would be applied to the bill if hired). I explained that I understood why they might charge an appraisal fee and that I would keep them in mind in case I decided to go that route but at this time I was going to hold off. SHE HUNG UP ON ME! Thanks for showing your true colors so quickly. Helped me more than you know.

I am sure that Tarvin Plumbing does great work and is likely to be a reputable contractor; However, they should be aware that their front line person answering the phones needs a crash course in customer service skills. Very unfortunate for them.

I can't say enough good things about Tarvin Plumbing. I had a clogged sink and another plumber came out and said it could not be snaked and that I would have to bust out my basement wall and possibly my basement floor to fix it. They wanted to charge me over $1000 to bust out the wall just to see if they could unclog it that way and then I would have to hire a contractor to put it back together. A friend thought I should get a second opinion and contacted Tarvin for me. They came out that very afternoon and for the same price the other company charged me to tell me all the bad news they not only fixed the clog with a snake but also fixed several other minor issues in the house. They have my business going forward.

What is most important about Tarvin Plumbing is their integrity. They take care of the problem, do it in a timely manner, and charge appropriately.

Phil did a good job fixing some pipes that another contractor had not done properly and he got my bathroom sink unclogged. Then I had him give me a bid on my third-floor bathroom replacing possibly the toilet and the sink. Next day a man called Mike left a message and asked me to call him back. He was going over the details of the bid for 3rd floor. It was going to be $3300! So naturally I had questions on exactly what they would do for that price. He cut me off and said “I listened to you, now you listen to me!” He was so rude and after he got done I still had the same questions. He continued to be curt and I told him I was going to get off the phone because he was upsetting me. I can’t believe after I spent over $800 that he could be so curt.

They did the job they came to do fine but then before he left he said that he would check my pressure. He told me it was a bit low and asked if I wanted him to fix it. I ask what it would cost and he told $159. So I told him to go ahead and fix. Then when he asked for payment it was $259. I asked why it was $100 more and he said for his time. I said it did not even take an hour to fix and he said, yes you're right it will only be $90 for my time.

I told him that I asked the price up front and he did not mention that the $159 did not include his time as I would not have had the pressure changed if I knew it was going to be over $250! So I called to explain to the office manager who sent me an invoice that was higher than the $90. She said I knew that it was going to be more because they sent me a price sheet last week and it was actually $120 on top of the $159. (even thought the worker told me $90. I did not know how long it was going to take and why I asked the price upfront. She did not make me pay the additional money and they did the job so I am giving them 2 stars but she was not nice about it and I would not use them again.

We had a leaking shower head. I called at 8 on Wednesday morning.The customer service individual said they could schedule a firm appointment for Monday morning, but would have someone call me if they became available.
I received a call at 10:30 the same morning and Ellis arrived at 11. The problem was taken care of in short order. Will use in the future.

Tarvin Plumbing did my total kitchen renovation. From demolition to installation and everything in between, the job was done efficiently and with tremendous skill by friendly and courteous workers. The work was completed on time and exactly the way I wanted. I still use Tarvin (and have for over 25 years) for my plumbing needs and would not hesitate to have them do another renovation.

We have a rental property near the University of Cincinnati and have had Tarvin Plumbing out several times. They have been prompt and professional. I would recommend their services without question.

We had a small gas leak in our basement and Tarvin was able to come out quickly to fix the leak and I felt the cost was very fair!

Tarvin Plumbing was contracted to replace two outdoor spigots as well as a bathroom faucet. Nearing completion of the second spigot on the rear of the house the plumber caused a pipe on the interior of the house to burst from the outside of the house, after installing the fixture but before securing it to the house. The burst line flooded the ceiling over the finished basement. The plumber made a quick, hasty fix and without turning the water back on to the property, assured us that their insurance company would cover all the damages and left.

The next day the plumber and the receptionist falsified the work report attempting to place the blame on us, the homeowner. We called to correct the statement and were told that it would be fixed before it was sent to insurance. It wasn't. Their insurance company looked at their falsified statement and immediately denied the claim. It took contacting the Ohio Department of Insurance to have their insurance company's senior staff review the claim and collect statements from us and to visit the residence in order for them to find Tarvin at fault.

On top of all of this Tarvin changed the terms of the contract after they were paid. Their plumber caused an 11 day dryout of our basement and several thousands of dollars in damage and they revoked their work guarantee after they were paid.

This is a very dishonest practice. We contacted the owner and he stood behind his receptionist and plumber's dishonest practices saying that we could contact our insurance company and file a claim, and he also understood that we had the right to dispute the insurance company's denial.

This caused tens of hours of time spent with contractors, on the phone and countless aggravation, and about a month later we still do not have full resolution.

Just goes to show that no matter how many glowing reviews there are, a business will show its true colors when backed into a corner. Very dishonest, very disrespectful customer service. Would give Zero stars, would not recommend.

I have always been able to count on Tarvin Plumbing. They come when they promise to come and have always been efficient and good to work with.

I called Tarvin because they were local and had a high review score - wish I hadn't. The job included replacing two toilet flappers and fixing a thermostatic mixer on a shower (temperature control). I had a replacement valve for the temperature control that turned out to be the wrong size. The plumber from Tarvin said the control valve wasn't the problem anyway. Rather, there was a build-up of corrosion from lack of use. He cleaned it out, put it back together, told us it was working and charged us just under $500.

When I tried the temperature control a week or so later, it did not work - same as before (but the toilet flappers did work). I called the office and explained that the part was not repaired. The receptionist was very nice and assured me that the report said the shower was fixed. She agreed to send another plumber out to check on it - that day. Wow, I thought, great customer service. The plumber arrived and told my wife that the report said the shower was fixed and that if we wanted him to do anything it would be at least $150. I have to give him credit for giving us the option to say No, Thank you - which my wife did.

My son and I, who don't know squat about plumbing, decided to look at it ourselves. In 45 minutes, using a couple of wrenches and the internet, we determined that the temperature control unit was missing a part that rendered it useless. Interesting that three people at Tarvin assured us it was working when it was physically impossible for the control unit to work. We ordered the part on Amazon, installed it in 15 minutes and the shower works flawlessly.

I can not recommend Tarvin for anything. It is clear to me that they don't have the expertise or the integrity to back up their work. Now, I'm thinking about quitting my job and becoming a plumber.

Travin personnel has installed kitchen plumbing as well as a complete bathroom for my family. They did an excellent job in a very timely manner. Their rates were very fair. I will not hesitate to use them in the future.

Had Tarvin come out for a clogged PVC pipe for the washing machine unit. There initially was some confusion because water pressure was checked which might have led to a water heater leak that started soon after. They came out again free of charge and they refunded me for the original visit because of the water heater leak that they were able to fix.

Mark Tarvin came out the second time and explained everything in great detail and also gave me competitive quotes on replacing the appropriate malfunctioning equipment.

At the end of the day what you want is accountability and professionalism in a company, and you definitely have that with Tarvin. Would recommend them to friends/family.

I can't begin to say how wonderful this company is! I called them this morning after being without water for EIGHT days because of a botched job by another plumbing company that my home warranty company uses. I told Veronica at Tarvin what the problem was, she had me send photos of the water heater and venting and said she would try and have somebody at my house today or tomorrow for installation. An hour later she has somebody who can pick up the water heater I need and can install it today. Brent arrives and was very professional and knowledgeable. He was able to install the water heater and make the necessary modifications in four hours. He went over everything he did and explained it thoroughly. Yes, it was a hefty price tag but a check that I was happy to write after having an EIGHT DAY nightmare without water thanks to another incompetent plumbing company. You definitely get what you pay for. I also learned in this process to drop the home warranty company I had because it is a scam. When ever I need a plumber in the future, Tarvin is who I will call!! Thanks so much Veronica and Brent-you guys are lifesavers!!!!

We had a slow leak in bib valve, and was concerned that the access would mean taking the interior wall down. The man Tarvin Plumbing sent out was able to remove the stem, replace the gaskets and put it back in service. Very well done.

He's very professional and looked at all of the options for fixing the upstairs shower before going through my kitchen ceiling (which he didn't have to, thank goodness). Tarvin employees always arrive within the specified time frame. The job is done professionally and any mess is always cleaned up completely. They will not do any work just for the sake of adding extra cost to the bill, and the bill is always very fair

The builder of our townhome in OTR put our furnace and AC on the second floor to get more airflow to the third floor. We ran into a problem with the AC drain overflowing to our kitchen ceiling in the second floor. We called Tarvin for help as we needed someone soon.

Dave came over the next day and we got service at a reasonable price. Dave not only fixed our problem but spent time helping us figure out how to prevent the issue from happening again. He took us step by step through the process and even explained that it's actually pretty normal to have some buildup in the pvc pipes from dripping water lines.

This was above and beyond and much appreciated. And we weren't gouged the service. When this happened we were concerned because we have had bad experiences with plumbers in the past. Tarvin is our go to plumber from here on out.

BE AWARE THEY WILL CHARGE YOU A FEE AND NOT TELL YOU UNTIL THE END! I put a request on Angi to have a leak inspected and got a call from them the next day saying they could have someone out in 30 minutes. The man came and inspected and said he would come up with plan. Didn't hear back for 4 days and the problem was alreay fixed. At the end of the inspection he said that will be 129.95 for today. WHAT? That is something you should tell someone in advance!! I called to talk about this with them and was hung up on by a guy named Mike. OK, Thank You! was all he could muster before hanging up the phone. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!
