We had a drain blockage in an upstairs bathroom sink and heard a gurgling noise in the tub each time the adjacent toilet was flushed. Another plumber had run a cleaning line through the tub drain and then a line through our vent stack, thinking that would solve the problem, but he had no ideas when it didn't. Chris Jones of Rapid-Rooter correctly diagnosed this issue as a blockage in the pipe between the sink and the toilet. He explained the problem, fixed it and cleaned up, all in less than 90 minutes. He was friendly and professional, and we have now found a new plumber we plan to stick with. I have no idea whether the price ($282 with a coupon) is competitive for such a service, but it seemed reasonable to my wife and me.

When I called, they were able to get me on the schedule for the next day. Both the office and our technician were nice and easy to work with. Chris was kind and knowledgeable. He was able to fix our water leak issue right on the spot.

I had a clogged toilet that caused a leak in my ceiling. What I thought was a major clogg was a simple replacement of the flapper. TJ made sure everything was good.

TJ was very helpful. He was on time and very professional. The broke down what was going on and gave me a couple of salutation on how to keep it from happening again.

Each time I called this unpleasant, unprofessional business the call failed. About two days ago evening hours I spoke to a technician named John. I just had questions for him to help me understand the situation. In my opinion, he didn’t want to answer my questions so he abruptly hung up the phone. A day of so I telephoned the office and finally spoke to the Chief Executive. When I finally got her today to make a complaint she was rude and accused me of badgering her employees, something that I would never do to anyone . I was do offended with Dianne. Maybe I wasn’t the right color for this company ! I hate playing the race card but that is how the both of them made me feel. TJ & John were the plumbers here at my home. They never respected me enough to tell me something. John claimed that they didn’t know whether I was the homeowner or tenant They ran my water for long periods of time and on several occasions I had to asked them when could I turn the water off. All bathrooms tubs and faucets were running at the same time full speed. Now, I do know the water has to run at some point. Due, to my urgent situation with the City of Charlotte and Ansco contractors is were the unfortunate occurrence happened. To recap, Rapid Rooter
here in Charlotte, N.C never will I call this company on my behalf ever for know reason. They are lucky that someone believes in them because I don’t . They are not the sharpest tools in the box. People be aware !!!!! I am just glad that know money came out of my pocket! My report card for this company is straight FFFF across the board !!!

Chris called me back within 15 minutes. He helped me turn the pump alarm off and flush the tank over the phone. He then came over and replaced the pump float in about an hour's time. Chris was very professional and kind. Thank you so much.

John came when scheduled, called ahead, was friendly and did a good job. He made sure the area was clean when he left. I've been using Rapid Rooter for a long time. Example of attention to detail: John made sure the disposer ring was exactly straight up and down. I'm a plumb and level sort of gal and this is important. Not all service people in the world would think this is important!

Having kitchen construction done, and needed the garbage disposal and piping removed from the sink same day.... T.J Kiker was my technician, and he responded quickly and professionally. Very happy with his service-- and will have T.J. come back to re-install everything when the construction is done. Thanks!

*UPDATE-- Had TJ return after the kitchen construction was finished-- Not only did he hook the sink and garbage disposal back up, but helped us troubleshoot a leak, updated all three toilets with new flapper and handles (upon our request) and was able to also provide information regarding a company that could help us clean up the water damage from the leak. TJ was very helpful, friendly, on time, and very professional. We are very satisfied!

T.J. Kiker came to fix the overflow from my washing machine and quickly found what the issue was and it was fixed in a short period of time. He was so friendly and helpful with what I needed to do to keep this hopefully not happening again.

TJ replaced my toilet fill valve, tank bolts and main gaskets, supply line hose, and installed a bidet, and verified there were no leaks in less than 30 minutes! TJ is a true professional and very talented at their job. Quality work fast and at a great price!

We have used Rapid Rooter several times over the years. Their serviceman, TJ, called to give us a time as to when he would be able to come out to the house. He was very punctual and professional. Instead of doing unnecessary work, that would have added to his bill, he discussed the situation with me and explained to me what he would do in this situation, thus saving us hundreds of dollars. Told me what to look for in the future and if certain things happen, then who to call.
It is always a pleasure to do business with people who put the customers needs first.

John went ABOVE and BEYOND for us. On Sunday night at 10 pm our house flooded for the second time this year. After having another plumbing service come out months ago to waste our time and money we were in desperate need of help. We called all over Charlotte and this is the only company that held true to the “24 hour emergency calls”. John came out on an emergency call at around 11pm. We called the company and John was out within 20 minutes of our initial call. He stayed until around midnight and gave us peace of mind by correctly identifying the issue immediately upon arrival, something our previous plumbing company could never do. Had a clogged disposal and drain pipe in kitchen sink. Called Rapid-Rooter on Saturday and they were out to my house in a flash! Our service technician, John Bird #63, resolved the problem in less than an hour. He explained why we had a problem and what he did to fix it. He provided great customer service. And, the price was not bad for an emergency weekend call. Thanks for everything!

T.J. was very helpful and it took less than an hour from first contact for him to come out and take a look, even for a non-emergency leak. He showed me exactly what the issue was and was quick and efficient on making the repair.

We called Rapid-Rooter because we had used them for eight years and always were completely satisfied with their work and their professionalism and we were not disappointed this time either. This call was for a leak under a stationery tub and a leak in a pipe behind our heater in our crawlspace. Chris Jones came out on time and did a courteous, professional and efficient job of identifying where the problems originated and what needed to be done. Chris then installed a new faucet for us on the tub and provided an estimate for the needed repairs to the piping from the sink to the main drain. Courteous, Professional, on-time and competent, what more could we ask.

Chris, our tech, was professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and an efficient worker. He was on time and diagnosed the problem in less than five minutes, explained what needed to be done and provided competitive pricing. The work included cutting the toilet drain pipe, removing the toilet to pull out the pipe, install new pipe and flange, and reinstall the toilet. He completed his work without any problems. The toilet now sits directly on the wood floor. Prior to the repairs, it was shimmed up at least 3/8 inches off the floor due to the flange height. We are very pleased with the repairs. Rapid rooter came out quickly to deal with what appeared to be a sewer line backup. The rep found it and said it was close enough to the street for the city to handle saving me some serious cash. He even called them out for me. They were there before he left the neighborhood and he came back to make sure I was taken care of. My service technician was Chris Jones. He gave me a call as to when he was arriving according to my scheduled time. He arrived on time and was friendly, knowledgeable and very personable. We agreed to what the problem was. He calculated a price before starting the job. I agreed to his quote. He got his tools and finished the job within the hour. I was happy with the repair, the time frame and the many conversations we had while he worked. He was very courteous in the fact that he noticed throughout my house is white carpet. He took his shoes off and on during the times he had to go to his truck and then to re-enter my house. I didn't ask him to do that but it was greatly appreciated and I just had my carpet cleaned.
Overall I was very happy with the work and would definitely hire this company again.

We needed to have our buried corrugated drains from our downspouts cleared and we contacted Rapid-Rooter because our regular plumber recommended them. I spoke with them several times on the phone to discuss our issue and I really felt like they cared about providing the right solution. TJ and John were our service technicians. They were prompt, knowledgeable, and quickly assessed how to address our slow/blocked drains. They completed the work within an hour and we now have free-flowing downspout drains!! John was very professional. Diagnosed the problem right away and fixed it. These kind of plumbing issues are very complex. I am very happy that I called this company.

Terrible experience. I called and got a quote of a $50 visit cost plus any extras the plumber would need to do (I thought that meant extras other than unclogging the drain as that’s what I said needed to be done). When Chris got here he told me it would be a total cost of $300 to unclog the drain, nothing else was needed and it would take min.of 20 min.to max. of 1 hour. At max that’s an outrageous hourly labor fee of $250. When I complained about it Chris said he would not do the job but still wanted the $50 visit fee. Unbelievable!! I sent him on his way. No one likes hidden fees but this was ridiculous. I should have been told upfront before Chris made the trip what the cost could be. He told me himself that 80% of the time a drain is necessary so I should have been told that price. I can’t deal with services that try to hoodwink their customers.

UPDATE: I saw response from the management justifying the exorbitant surprise cost. I called another reputable plumbing company after this fiasco and got my drain unclogged for $180. That's almost half of what Rapid-Rooter wanted. That was several months ago and everything is working just fine.

John Bird # 63 did a great job with fixing my leaky toilet over the Memorial day weekend. He came out within an hour of my call, was polite, and cleaned up the mess in the bathroom, he even asked if he could use my vacuum! He explained the problem in detail and the cost so there wouldn't be any surprises when he was finished. Highly recommend Rapid-Rooter and John.

This company is amazing, and probably the best if you want a real plumber. I work for a restoration company and good plumbers are hard to find. They gave us a time frame; I was honestly expecting 2-3 hours later, considering it was 8PM and that's how majority of plumbers are. No, they gave us a 9PM time and sent out a tech, on time, that diagnosed and found the problem right away. Our technician, Chris Jones, was professional, respectful, and like I said, found the problem right away. Very happy to have gotten Chris as our technician.

Not Happy with the service, Called because the sink was backed up, first Steve came out he did not snake the drain, but assumed that it needed to be pressured from the roof and it would cost $800.00, we paid the $800.00 and he had his boss come out and do the work and now after only 2 months the sink is backed up again, and the washer and dishwasher are backing into the sink, now they want to charge us again to come out, with the excuse that it is out of warranty. So how convenient only a 1 month warranty. I will not be using these guys ever again they take your money and do a poor job. They don't care they are just about the money.

Same day service! About 2 hours ago, our toilets and sinks backed up. First time this has ever happened to us. We called Rapid-Rooter. They had someone (TJ) out in 45 minutes. TJ had the problem diagnosed and fixed less than an hour later. TJ was professional, courteous, capable and polite. We are very grateful for the quick response and resolution.

John Bird was my technician, and was very professional and listened to my concerns. I was having water issues from a clogged main drain, and John went right to the source of the problems and showed me the issues, which in fact was roots growing into the drain. I was unable to have any water running inside the house, so I appreciated the rapid response. I called about 1pm on a Friday and John was at my house by 3pm. He cleaned out the drain and was done within an hour. Very satisfied with the company and with John, I will use them again if I ever need plumbing service.

I had limited time before the holidays so I called Rapid Rooter to fix a drain issue in one of my rentals. Their dispatcher was nice and responsive and provided a reasonable time slot. The technician called me at the time slot. I had quickly inspected the drain issue a day before and instructed the technician where the problem was. I told him it was the main drain line just past the bathtub, sink, and toilet. He told me all three lines were clogged and it would cost $400 to clear them. I said thanks but no thanks because I knew it was just the main line. In the limited time I had before vacation I drove to the house and ran my drain snake down just 1 drain pipe and instantly all 3 lines drained which shows it was just the main line. The 1 star review is because of an incorrect diagnosis that seems like it was intentional to charge me for unnecessary work. Unfortunately it still cost me $49 for the visit.

John Bird (#63) came by our house today to repair an issue with our shower. He was very courteous, professional and knowledgable. He was able to repair the shower very quickly. I would highly recommend him and Rapid-Rooter!

Larry did a great job helping me out today. The company was responsive when I called, Larry showed up about an hour later. He was friendly, on time, fixed my problem, got it done quick, didn’t break anything or leave a mess. Highly recommend these guys.

The first trip we paid Chris $53.09 for coming out to diagnose. I wanted the water heater replaced, but Chris said the burner is not working and it should be ok if the burner is replaced. Today the second trip Chris said the new burner that he ordered may be not working or there may be some other underlying problems. He suggests we replace the whole water heater. We still need pay him the trip fee and one hour labor fee which is $160.43. It is not fair for us to pay this money when nothing is done. We are very disappointed at this company and will not hire again.

We had to call for an after hours emergency service and John was a top notch life saver. He promptly returned my call in to the answering service and arrived within the hour. John was obviously knowledgeable and had us fixed in no time. We have now found our go to for future plumbing needs!

If you have a plugged drain...call Rapid-Rooter. Our kids bathroom sink was stopped up for weeks and after calling in 3 plumbers to unclog, and a home warranty company that would not fix the problem, we called Rapid-Rooter. The guy they sent out (sorry I cant remember his name), was friendly, and willing to help us. He went into the attic, on a 100 degree day, so it was about 120-130 degrees in the attic, and was able to cut the pipe and unclog a huge clump of hair. He never complained once and the bill was reasonable for the work done. I will call them for any plumbing issues.

John Bird (63) came out to my home last Friday. He was prompt, courteous, and able to assess the situation with the plumbing issue in my laundry room quickly. He went above an beyond even draining my washer out so I didn't have water just sitting in it for a week while waiting on the pipes to thaw. I will utilize this company again for any future needs.

Had a major toilet overflow situation upstairs and my worst fear came true! The water escaped faster than I could get to it and seeped into the downstairs ceiling. Called these guys: the receptionist was super courteous, she responded fast by sending out Jonathan who did a thorough job with alleviating my disaster, educating me on the current situation, and providing me with preventative tips in case of any future emergencies. We noticed our hot water heater was no longer working and in a day they came out and replaced it. We have an immune compromised daughter and they were respectful and wore masks at all times, answered all our questions and kept us informed at every step. Will not hesitate to use them again. We spoke with a live person after 2pm on a Saturday. Alex Bishop #67 followed up with us shortly thereafter and continued to provide updates on arrival time. He was courteous and professional. He had to move a toilet to unclogged a major pipe 25 feet across house. He finished up at 9 pm. We would highly recommend this provider.

They did not Show up. They Provided with two different time frames they never showed up. I waited for 8 hours they didn’t even call to follow up. I called them they said they were going to call me back. They never did. Very disrespectful if they don’t have the time just be honest that way I could find another serious company.

Yes I am 100% sure I called this morning to Rapid Rooter in Charlotte at 11 am.
I received a voice a excuses at 9:40 pm today about being short staff.

I initially called on a Sunday afternoon when I discovered an issue with my hot water heater. The gentleman I spoke with indicated he would be more than happy to come out, but might not have the part I needed. He didnt want me to spend the $$$ for a weekend call and set up a time for someone to come the next day - more likely to be able to get any parts needed.

Chris J. came out the next day and was very easy to work with. Fast and efficient. He found the problem and was able to repair it without any issues. I don’t know what this type of work typically costs, but it didn’t seem too bad. Plus, there’s something to be said for having the problem fixed within about 24 hours and saving the weekend call fee. These guys were very easy to work with and I’ll likely be calling them if I need any future fixes.

They performed our sewer line replacement and all their techs arrived on time and were very professional. Highly recommend them.

Amazing service, out within 20 minutes when I was dealing with a toilet flood in the bathroom. Fixed within 1.5 hours. Has warranty for a year. Chris was very professional to work with and trustworthy. 5 stars.

I used this company for an emergency water leak on a Sunday night. We had water from the 2nd floor down to the 1st floor. Chris Jones gave us an estimated time and arrived on time. He was able to quickly determine the cause. He was professional and showed us pictures and video of what he found. I hope to not have another emergency but will definately use them again.

This is the 2ND time I have used this company and I am very pleased with the service they provide. Jason and John are very friendly, they give you a time and they show up. Once the work is completed they check to make sure things are back in working order.In my case a clogged kitchen drain. My retired plumber recommend this company to me. John Bird #63 came to our house on a Sunday morning quickly after we called. He was very polite, professional and fixed our leaking toilet as well as gave us advice about another toilet in our house. Highly recommend.

We have a very poorly installed drain system. The developer actually put angles in one section to get the pipe to connect to the clean out when they subdivided the lot. We either have a crack or the seals weren’t properly glued all those years ago. This is the second time we have had this company out to clear roots out of the line.

Because of the angles Larry had a hard time getting the auger to go through. He kept working and we were to the point where we had consider whether to dog. I told him I was praying and suddenly it went through. He exclaimed “got it”. And just about fell over. I just about hugged him I was so grateful!

We are a medical family on the Covid unit and my nerves are shot. I just can’t handle anything else right now. In the future we will have them dig this up and fix it.

UPDATE: After getting a personal call from the GM (Cody) and having a lengthy discussion, I'm upgrading my review from 2 stars to 4. The reason is his level of customer service. Because he stands so strongly behind his team and values his repeat customers, I can only appreciate the time he took to call and listen to my side of the issue and let me know the changes he's implemented, so a customer can get the service they request regardless to outcome of the issue at hand.

There was some confusion in the background and the techs thought I'd be happy that they didn't waste my money on a job that wasn't going to fix the problem. They didn't realize that I understood this wasn't a fix. I was requesting maintenance to keep my problem at bay until I can afford the fix.

We've scheduled a new maintenance request and I look forward to more business in the future. Thank you Rapid Rooter.

As a repeat customer I'm HIGHLY disappointed in the my latest nonservice request. I say non because they never did the job I scheduled. Once every few years I schedule a main line clean out from the main pipe to the street.

This year I'm not sure what was different (maybe staff changes) but when I scheduled the maintenance the woman on the line seemed a bit perplexed about my request but did schedule the work. The problem was Chris tried to diagnose my issue instead of providing the service I scheduled. He kept trying to sell me the camera down the drain (which I would have paid for in addition to the clean out) and never did the work.

I've been in this house for 14years I know the issues, which is why I scheduled a maintenance clean out to keep my issue from becoming a problem until I get the thousands of dollars to fix it. After Chris diagnosed it and refused to do the clean out (which they've done over the past 12 years) they sent Rick out to give me the estimate on other work. However when I asked yet again if he'd do the clean out, he said they'd call Chris back out. But Chris never returned the woman on the phone says, We'll see if we can do that (meaning the clean out). My response was if you look at my records you'll see that you've done this before so why wouldn't you do it now?

I have full time job and need permission to work from home. Waiting on 2 sets of crews to come out is a bit ridiculous (especially since i raced to work when Chris left, then got a call from RR saying a new crew was coming shortly) so I raced back home to receive no service at all and WASTING a work from home privilege.

Now I have to find another company to service me and ask again to work from home. This doesn't make any sense to me. If the professionals think my maintenance clean out is a waste of time for them, they should consider the fact that it's a service I've bee paying for, for years. If only to humor the customer, it should have been done as no harm can come from it. The just lost my money.

Okay, I'm gonna admit the truth... I tried to be a plumber, screwed it up, and T.J of Rapid Rooter had to fix it.

I contacted Rapid Rooter to schedule an Appt for A specific day. I was easily scheduled and T.J arrived on time. (That in itself is a good start)

He fixed the problem, didn't judge my plumbing skills.... or lack thereof, and was very amiable.

I will definitely use this company again.

John came in and was helpful and professional with our drain. It was kind of a tough one and he didn't seem flustered, just worked the problem and fixed it. Very good job, would use again for any issues.

John Bird, #63 came out to fix and leaking, clogged drain. It took him a bit of work to clear the clog, but he did and replaced a cracked pipe as well. He was polite, knowledgeable and a pleasure to have in my home.

From when I called in to request service to when my plumbing was repaired was less than hours. I have used them before and will use them again when needed. Chris did a great job.

CHAD CAME TO LOOK AT MY PROBLEM AND WAS A GENTLEMAN,BEFORE DOING ANYTHING HE LET TO ME DESCRIBE THE PROBLEM AND ASKED A FEW QUESTIONS, AFTER CLEANING OUT MY DRAIN HE STATED HE THOUGHT THERE WAS A PROBLEM AND RECOMMENDED USING A CAMERA TO LOOK. HIS CAMERA FOUND A SCREWDRIVER IN MY DRAIN,A PRETTY BIG ONE. AFTER USING A SHOP-VAC TO REMOVE IT HE CONTINUED TO LOOK AT THE REST OF DRAIN AND FOUND NO OTHER BLOCKAGE. HE TOLD ME THE ONLY WAY THAT COULD HAVE GOT IN THERE IS THRU COMODE, I TOLD HIM ANOTHER PLUMBER I HAD USE MUST HAVE LOST IT AND NEVER WENT AFTER IT BECAUSE I KNOW HE REMOVED THE COMODE TO CLEAN LINE., ONLY WAY IT COULD GET IN THERE, THANKS CHAD JOB WELL DONE. I WILL NEVER USE ANY OTHER PLUMER .
