this was a 3 day experience! I was a repeat customer. Not happy this took 3 visits to resolve, 2 holes in the wall and 2 days work from home.Looking back it should have took no more than 2 visits and 1 hole.1. on each day it took a few calls to find out where is the technician?? when will they be here? Each time the operator would say they are on their way... hours later nothing. Lots of apologies.2. I should have gone right to the pressure pipe wash (3rd visit). that took care of the issue.*** RR - be more proactive on where customer is at in line and when will the tech arrive (you failed at hitting an hour eta window all 3 times). Don't make me chase you calling when you set the time the tech would be here.*** RR - mistakes happen understand (ie extra cut hole) but the 2nd visit was totally unproductive - camera didn't show anything. Tech never came back that day to finish. On 1st visit I was told a camera was NOT on the pressure wash when it was! I would have done pressure wash for day2 and been done. Only bc 1st visit you sent out tech who didn't have equipment(otherwise would have took 1 day - 1 hole)*** Lastly - appreciate you honoring price you initially quoted. Though I felt like I had to defend my position even though it was written on your quote. In the end I spent ~ $1000 for 4hrs work. I waited for a tech ~14hrs in total during the 3 days.

The plumber was timely and seemed knowledgeable; he explained everything to me as many times as I needed clarification. The price was extremely high, so that's the reason for the lower rating. I also thought the caps on the bolts in the toilets would be replaced in a way that they stayed on but every time I clean, they fall off which is irritating.

Called in at 4am. Had a call back by 830 and Jourdan here within the hour. Amazing responsiveness. Will be going back for further repairs. Awesome work.

The technician arrived promptly and came up with an answer to the problem. They spent the day cleaning all of the pipes to ensure the basement wouldnt start flooding again. Service technician also found a blocked pipe that needs to be replaced. Technician was helpful in solving are issues and made sure we were comfortable before they left.

Our service technician Dikemse McCaster was amazing. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. He helped resolved the drain issue and provided recommendations to ensure we stay ahead of issues in our 100 year old house.The support team was helpful, provided a time for when the plumbers would be onsite and they called ahead of time to provide an update. I was having water back up in my wash room every time I washed and gurgling in my kitchen sink. It was determined that it was an isolated incident with just that one drain. The plumber was knowledgeable, courteous, and gave my a residential guarantee of six months for my main/branch lines. I always call Roto-Rooter. I used the online schedule process on Sunday night to schedule an appointment for Monday. Our plumber showed up within 20 minutes of calling us Monday afternoon. He was polite and knowledgeable about our drain clog. He had the drain operating perfectly within 40 minutes of arriving. He left us with clear, easy to follow advice about how to maintain our drain to avoid further problems.

Mike (tech number 403) from Detroit was dispatched immediately and arrived at our house promptly, even though he was in the city of Detroit and we live in the suburbs. He was very thorough and professional. We were impressed with his knowledge and ability to teach us what was wrong, what needed to be done, and then went ahead and did it after our approval.

Couldn't come out cause the cable machine was broke. Not helpful, rushed off the phone. I will never recommend them .very disappointed.

We needed a plumber for a leaking toilet valve on a Sunday. Called Roto-Rooter and was told by a very courteous Andy that it would be two or three hours and he would call to let us know when the plumber was on his way. True to his word he called to tell us Charlie was on his way. Charlie Campbell was our plumber. He checked out the problem and gave us the complete price to fix the problem with no hidden surprises. He did a great job, and left the area cleaned up. He was so nice it was a pleasure to have him in our home. Next time we need a plumber we will call Roto-Rooter and ask for Charlie!

TOO Expensive. Replacement of Kitchen sink garbage disposal only. The job took less than one hour, the brand new part I already bought was used, yet I was charged $400. To me this is unreasonably expensive. Will make me think twice before falling Roto Rooter in the future.

I was having some sewage back up in my basement, when roto rooter arrived and assessed what was going on they said “by the looks of what is coming up the drain, I think you’re going to need the hydro jet”. This cost was 4 times the amount I originally thought the snaking would be. I go through with the hydro jet, told there was a 1 year warranty if it backs up again. 2 months later it backed up again, I called roto rooter and they were out probably the next day. While the tech was here I asked why it would be backing up again so quickly, and he said he doesn’t know but he’ll run the hydro jet and make sure the water isn’t backing up before he leaves. I asked if the only way to know would be the camera inspection and he said yes, but he didn’t have it with him. So they are just trying to treat things without diagnosing first.One week after he hydro jetted the second time, the drain was backing up again and I called and expressed my concern and they said a supervisor would call me within 2 days. Never received a call. It has now been 2 additional months after playing phone tag and haven’t had my sewage drain fixed or a supervisor call me back. Very disappointed in lack of professionalism and the fact that things get treated without diagnosing.I also called today trying to get the problem in my basement resolved and they said the supervisor will have to get back with me on Monday. No option to have the emergency fixed this weekend.

They missed the original appointment (after many calls to them) but rescheduled. Work was completed quickly and everything works fine.

DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!! They've took full advantage of my mother. They charged almost $300 to snake a drain with a grantee 6 month warranty. 4 days later the issue that occurred again. We called them back and they said they only come once every 6 months and they will have to charge $300 again to come back.

We had a clogged main drain on a Sunday and I called about mid afternoon for service. The technician arrived within 30 minutes and took care of the problem.

Would not provide an estimate over the phone, then when they came had a booklet of prices that could have easily been given over the phone.Another thing they don't tell you until they get to your house is that its a $40 fee, even for an estimate.Look elsewhere.

The first time I called Roto-Rooter was in March of 2015 when the sewer line back up into my house. They came the same day, performed a drain cleaning and provided a warranty for six months. I thought the issue was resolved and gladly paid the $100 for the quick fix. Three months later the same issue occurred, thinking how well Roto-Rooter performed before I quickly called to get the fixed. They said that someone would be out that day and to sit tight. A few hours later I get a call saying they can't come today and will be around first thing in the morning. First thing in the morning was 11:30 am. When they arrive the technician is very nice and informative, after some investigation he finds that the sewage line is collapsed and that it will need fixed and will cost 4k. The landlord explains that she wants to shop around for a better price. This is where Roto-Rooter became hostile. Once it was known that we we were looking for a competitive price all civility went out the window. The technician said water could be put down the drain but not paper, he got in his truck and drove away. Five minutes later I flushed the toilet and the drains over flowed again. (the drains were just snaked and flowing before we told them we were going to shop around) My wife called the phone number on the top of the invoice and talked to Jeff. Jeff didn't care. When he said that the issues was the collapsed drain and they can't do anything, my wife responded with well no s***. Jeff hung up. I called back right away, and Jeff tried the same lines with me. After telling him how inappropriate it is to scold my wife and hang up, i explained the problem and asked to talk to the technician that was at my house. He said he would pass my message along and have him call. Hours later Jeff has not called back and a real plumber has come to fix the problem.tldr: Don't do business with a company that disrespects your family and doesn't allow you the customer to shop around for the best price. and don't trust Jeff

After having a back-up from the storm drain in my basement and pumping water out for seven days, I called Rotor-Rooter. I have had two other plumbers come to my home that told me the storm drain was no longer working. neither of them even attempted to snake the drain. The water was coming in around the perimeter of the house. I was told they would have to brake the floor, take the old drain out and it would cost a couple thousand dollars. Being on a fixed income, I thought I would have to give up my home because this was not the first time I had water in every room in the basement. It takes a lot of energy to clean-up water after a storm. Now I don't have to Dred checking my basement after an extremely heavy rain. Thank you Rotor Rooter

I have been having a constant problem with my basement flooding almost every time it would rain. Called my personal plumber to fix the problem and $400 later the basement was still flooding. Too afraid to waste anymore money with my old plumber, I finally called roto rooter. Jermaile was our technician and he was very knowledgeable and helpful. He snaked our drain and checked the storm drains and the main drain for blockage and all was clear. He told us that we had a calcium build up and that we shouldn't have any more problems. We have a 6 month guarantee so we are very satisfied with the service that was provided.

Bill Hurley went above an beyond to help me helped me get the city out to repair my pipes outside after he fixed my pipes inside. He could have very well just took more money from me but he didn't he even sat here an waited for the city to cone to show them the problem. The Service manager, Jakob was kind of helpful, however, his team was HORRIBLE. They packed and removed furniture and other things from my home with the promise to unpack and replace same, they DID NOT. They ripped my sofa and didn't advise me of the damage 😒. They removed railings from my walls in order to get the furniture out of the house and didn't replace it. The service team was very unprofessional and argumentative. I would NOT recommend them nor would I ever use them again.

I manage a Goldfish Swim School and called on Wednesday evening as we were having trouble with 2 of our toilets backing up regularly over the past few days. Columbus was promptly here on Thursday morning and I was first blown away by his overall demeanor. He was extremely courteous, knowledgeable, and carried himself with the utmost professionalism. Also, he was very easy to communicate with and listened intently at the problems we were having. Columbus also took the time to walk with me throughout the facility (inside and outside our building even!) so that he had a complete understanding of our facility and our other building's tenants as we share the space with 3 other businesses. He also educated me on so many things from our building tying into the city's main line to showing me detailed video of what he discovered. Finally, Columbus understood and was extremely sympathetic to our school's members and made sure that the work he was doing didn't interfere with our business and also took extreme caution, keeping our member's safety in mind the entire time he was here. People kept telling me to try fixing my clog myself and not call Roto-Rooter because they're really expensive. After a week of drain products and snaking, I finally did call. They came out in a little over an hour, gave me a price, and then fixed the problem. I presented a coupon for $40 off and they took it off the bill. Eric was absolutely the kind of person you'd want in your home.

Terrible! Called at 9am due to a back up in our basement, got a call almost 3 hours later and was given an estimate of arrival for the tech of 45-60 minutes. We let them know we had to leave our house by 2 and were told that wasn't a problem. Once 1:30 hit and the tech still wasn't there I called and was told he would be another 20 minutes! The customer service rep was unapologetic and gave no reason as to why the tech was an hour+ late. So much for 24/7 help and good customer service! Now I am still stuck with a backed up basement.

I plan to use this company, after the excavator does an evaluation. I would definitely recommend Roto Rooter. My tech LaMar is great

maybe rotorooter is not the cheapest company but worth the experience and I don't regret calling them when I had a clog in my kitchen sink and I called around 8PM and they scheduled me the next day, the specialist (Tim) came in the next day and tried very hard to unclog it, it took almost an hour to do that plus he gave me extended warranty

Today I had Michael 458 technician come out to my house. He was informative, kind and courtesy. Along with his professionalism his knowledge and suggestions on what steps i need to take in the future was excelling. Also I weas missing a part and he took it upon himself to go to the store and gather that part. He didnt have to do that but he went above and beyond which made the experience top knoch. We had an emergency on a Sunday, Sean C. came to our home and did an excellent job of explaining what was needed and gave a few options to repair the problem. The work was done efficiently and he was very professional. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

We experienced a drain backup emergency, and Roto Rooter sent Jason to our house on a Sunday. He calmly and thoroughly triaged the situation and laid out the steps we could/should take to get things back to normal. He asked excellent questions and took the time to walk me through all the next-step details: the names of the other technicians who would be coming, approximately when they would arrive, and what they would do. He provided really helpful suggestions to help us get the most out of each service call. Thank you to plumber Joe Rioux (sp?) for the great job he did opening my clogged main last PM. Not only was he very respectful of my furnishings by coverings, but he replaced everything in my bathroom exactly where they were! The bathroom looked as if nothing had happened in there! I can't say enough how happy I am with Roto Rooter. I knew that I had a problem with the sewer pipes leading out to the city line so when we had a slight back up on Sunday I knew the pipe had either collapsed or was totally blocked by roots. I knew I needed a company with a camera service. I called RR and Andy, who was very friendly and helpful, said they didn't have any openings that day but would schedule me for Monday. A few hours later he called back to say a plumber was freed up and could come out. Eric W. came out and snaked the pipe and put the camera down. The snake didn't work (no surprise) and the camera was useless in the water. We decided jetting was too high a risk and decided to have the pipes excavated the next day. They didn't charge me for the camera and reduced the price of the snake. Andy called promptly the next morning to let me know that the permits were being pulled (DTE had already been out) and the crew was on their way. Eric W. returned with a crew and they got the job done. Eric was WONDERFUL. He's knowledgeable and kind, explained everything clearly. Every person on the crew was polite and friendly. They cleaned up great. The City inspector was wary that I'd gotten a private contractor (vs a city contractor). He came out twice today to check the job out and told me that I got a fair price and they were not doing any unnecessary work and he was really impressed with their work and professionalism. I was very relieved. Great warranty. Would call them for work again anytime.

We have used this company more than once in our 1927 condo. Their tech, Mike is absolutely wonderful. He is polite and knows his plumbing. He fixed a problem with our toilet that no one else could figure out! I would use this company again.

We had a drain clog in our basement right at the end of the workday…sewage backing up right onto our basement floor. I called a few places, no one could come out today, I tried Roto-Rooter and they were able to send someone within an hour (no extra fee)! Our plumber, Blake was great! Called Thursday to request service on Saturday as we had to leave town Friday morning for about 15 hours. Was told that I would receive a call between 11am and 3pm on Saturday. By 3:16pm Saturday, heard nothing, so called office. After 5 minutes someone finally answered. I was told that things were backed but that someone would be available later in the day. At 5pm someone called and said that repairman would be at house in about 20 minutes.Repairman , Dana, arrived by 5:30pm. Had problem fixed and left in about 45 minutes.Bottom line was repairman was very congenial , professional and did a good job. However, office operation needs improvement..

Honestly, we didn't know what to expect. We were about to install a new water heater and when we went downstairs, our basement had about of inch of water and ick (i mean ICK). We were panicked -- tree limbs in pipes? dead animal in pipes? plus we have no hot water! anyways, i called two drain cleaning companies, including roto-rooter. I was warned that Roto Rooter was the more expensive but reliable than the other company, but reliable is what we needed. Joe fixed our problem, gave us great advice to avoid clogs in the future and the price was very reasonable! When you're in a panicked state, the last thing you want to think about is the possibility of being ripped off and my husband and I felt extremely comfortable with Joe's explanation and service. Would recommend very highly.

Had a flooded basement from rain and a clogged line. Columbus was the technician that came, actually immediately cause I demanded it from the appt guy Andy. Columbus was so great, he was cheerful, kind to the situation, explained everything in detail and gave us a recommendation for jetting. We agreed with his suggestion and purchased the jetting. He worked hard to clean our aged old maple tree roots. I felt so comfortable with his experience and trusted him, so we asked him to do another job as well. Roto rooter will definitely be my go to plumber from now on.

Charged me $39.95 (which I was not told about) just to LOOK at the problem and then give me an outrageous quote to do a drain clean out. Find someone else that will not charge you just to do a quote.

Wayne showed up and had my toilet flushing in 10 minutes. It was a simple check valve that was stuck. The cost was reasonable and he was very friendly. Highly recommend Roto-Rooter.

After a mishap in our 2nd floor bathroom, we had a Roto-Rooter plumber out to check the pipes in our kitchen He had to tear out part of the ceiling (it was already ruined) and determined that the pipes were not leaking. He checked the access door for the tub and that was o.k. too. It was worth the money to put my mind at ease. The plumber was very professional and friendly. Overall a very pleasant experience, given the circumstances.

First let me state he raised price $500 after bathroom torn up on first floor. I have a handicap mother so I had to agree. We only have one bathroom on first floor. Did a decent job but hiked the price up $600 past estimate for no decent reason. Apparently plumbers make more than my doctor per hour. The place was left a mess that required two hours of clean up and my 80 year old cast iron tub has a big chip in it which will have to be professionally repaired. I had a contractor look at the job. He said it was worth max $1,500.00 for 5 hours of work. $2,200.00 is highway robbery. Plus, the $500.00 'up charge' was for $40.00 in parts. I'm currently planning on asking for the up charge back. We will see what they say. I also had a two neighbor's look at it and asked their plumbers what they thought of the bill. They said they would've done it for $1,300.00 to 1,700.00. I will write a review a day just to make me feel better. How is the chip to be repaired?

He gave clear explanation of each diagnostic step he was taking as well as educated me on the process. I called Roto Rooter to snake a clogged sewer line about one week ago from Satruday I was rescheduled to the following day, but they did show up, and opened the line. Russ, the plumber was polite, personable and efficient. Rotor Rooter is expensive. In fact, there was a lot of promoting additional services at absorbatant pricing.

First and foremost I should say that I knew very minimal about plumbing prior to the visit today from Roto Rooter. What I thought would be a routine toilet issue turned into a problem when we discovered that the valve that shuts water off to the toilet was not only broken, but the valve that turns the water off to my housing unit was as well. Charlie, the technician, walked me through the process of how and why we had to fix the different components of the house and was very helpful in describing the process that he used to do so from the cutting of pipes, replacing of valves, and the sodding of the new materials.During the process of fixing our house the visit was extremely professional, clean, and thought filled to ensure that no damage would happen to the house during the process. I feel now after the visit from Roto Rooter that I could adequately describe how to fix a similar problem to someone else and my knowledge bank on the plumbing world has grown tremendously.The work was done at a high quality, there was no leaks or spills during the entire visit and my house looks better than it did before the work was done. I called in the morning and they were out within an hour. I had an old basement drain that had never been used that was no longer able to process water flow. Joe ran the snake twice and double checked that the drain was clear. He also answered my questions, gave me tips on kitchen/bathroom drain maintenance, and gave me a free bottle of drain cleaner (the kind that doesn't eat your pipes). I needed a plumber in Auburn Hills and was hesitant to call a plumber in Westland, but I am happy I did! I submitted an inquiry online and received a phone call the next morning to discuss my service request. I was able to schedule service for exactly when I needed, so that I could make sure I was home. Roto Rooter answered my call immediately, and got me on their schedule. I received a call an hour before the plumber was going to be at my house. The plumber arrived within the promised time window, and did a great job. This is probably the only time I've hired a plumber where I didn't have to clean up after the plumber left. He did a great job making sure he left things the way they were before he arrived. He gave lots of helpful advice on how to avoid having this problem in the future. While I think Roto Rooter costs more than some other plumbers, it was worth it to me to not have to deal with the hassle that some of them bring.

It's so reassuring to know Roto-Rooter is available 24/7, even holidays! I've used them three times over the past couple of years and have been very happy with the speed of their response and the thoroughness of the service techs. Yesterday Wayne arrived within two hours of my call and was very courteous. He explained our problem and offered two solutions, one more thorough (costly) than the other. First of all, let me make one quick blanket statement...WOW!I scheduled a last minute/emergency appointment quick and conveniently on their website. Within 5 minutes, I received an email telling me that someone would be in the area between 12pm and 4pm. Standard operations for any service call. I had the day off anyway so it didn't matter. Then, about an hour later, I received a phone call telling me that someone would be in the area within the hour (this was at 1pm). I missed the call, but the voicemail had a number to call back so I returned the call and they told me someone would be out a little later but not by much. So, at 1:30, I saw their van pull up and I opened the door to great the tech. He was very cordial and polite and I showed him straight to the basement. He presented himself very appropriately and professionally, asking me detailed questions and returning my questions with very solid answers. When he was finished, he cleaned up any mess he created (which wasn't much), offered to show me exactly what had happened and what he did to correct it. He didn't try to sell me on anything more, but did warn me that my neighborhood was old and very prone to such incidents.He thanked me for using Roto-Rooter, gave me my bill, presented me with a copy of the receipt and wished me a good day as he left.I will gladly use this company again because of their fast and friendly service, and their simple to use scheduling system online.

Had a series of different personnel help us with a flooded basement. They were quick to resolve the problem and get us back to as normal a life as possible. The water mitigation team was very helpful in explaining everything as they went and getting our basement clean and dry. The plumbers and excavators worked quickly to get pipes replaced same day. We are way beyond satisfied with the work that was performed and the level of service we received!

My family has used Roto Rooter for a lot over the last couple years. From running a whole new sewer line (last year), installing a sump pump in the basement (this year) to fixing some leaks and installing a new faucet (two weeks ago). Each time they have been professional, clean and super efficient. They detailed the options for each job and did what was selected. Mark came out to my mom's two weeks ago to fix a couple leaks and change her faucet. She found him to be super professional, courteous and all around awesome. He cleaned up any messes made and it looked like he had never been there when he finished. Before leaving her, he stopped and asked her if there was anything else she needed him to look at before he left. Before him, Kyle came out to assess the damage to see if additional services would be warranted. Each of them were patient and kind answering all of her questions politely and professionally. The leaks are gone and her faucet running as it should. Job well done.

I had tree roots growing in my sewer drains where the pipe changes from 6 to 4 which were causing back-ups in the basement. Roto-rooter removed the roots and then applied an epoxy coating using a balloon technique inside the drain to prevent the roots from growing back. The job was back up by a 20 years written guarantee. The crew did a great job and I was thrilled considering another well-known drain company wanted to dig up my front yard and charge a much higher fee to replace pipes that didn't need replacing.

The man I had for repairs (can't remember his name) was very polite and knowledgeable. I felt very comfortable with him. He explained things well. He found my problem and fixed it quickly! He also gave me advice for the future which was awesome! Then his supervisor came to check out the work he had done and was also very knowledgeable in the plumbing industry so I felt very good about choosing Roto Rooter 😊

Recently moved into a new home. When i first moved in the plumber who attached a few items for me was not able to fix the sediment issues in my pipes. After a few months it became unbearable. My parents recommended Roto Rooter, and Tim came out. He did an amazing job at clearing my pipes. Very professional and quick. Provided 6 month warranty.But man how expensive can things be. And this is not a reflection on the plumber who came and did the work. He is awesome. He also was upfront about the pricing - so complaint isn't about surprise either. I just had no choice. Even the phone customer service is good. No complaints.My feedback is only about pricing. Pricing seems equal to paying $350 per hour. If these guys were cheaper, it would be my go to place for everything. But right now I am not sure.

I called Friday afternoon (July 8, 2016) and was told due to a heavy schedule service would not be available until Saturday afternoon. But, Roto-Rooter called at 3:30 pm Friday with GOOD NEWS --- a man was available in my area and would be right over. A.J. arrived at about 4 pm and cleaned the main and storm sewer lines. The young man did a good job, and I am thankful for the QUICK SERVICE !!!

I must say on 9/11 the last thing I was expecting was for our drains to clog from yet ANOTHER rain storm here in Detroit, MI. I was here visiting my parents and the drains clogged. My mother called Roto-Rooter 9-10-14 LATE the night before and a Roto-Rooter agent arrived by 8:00 am the next day on 9/11.He was VERY kind and personable and helped us deal with this inconvenience. His name was Joe Rioux and he was nice enough to put rubber covers on the wheels of the rooter to avoid damage to our new carpet (though sadly the flood took care of some of that) and he laughed at my moms jokes. Mr. Joe has a very distinctive snort which made me laugh. He snaked our drains about 70ft, cleaned up after himself and stayed until about 9:30 am to make sure the water went down.He gave us many options on how to prevent this back-up from happening again because we have an old house. My parents and I were very happy to have Joe as our Rooter. Everyone would be so lucky to call 1-800-Get-Roto! They will get the job done!

We had just moved into our new home and were already experiencing a major back up. Eric and Mark came in and were so kind. They not only fixed our problem quickly but also didn't try to hustle us into things we didn't need. My husband and I were extremely pleased with their professionalism. Calling in to set up an appointment was a breeze, and they fit me in with a technician right away. My issue wasn't an emergency, so I was able to set something up that fit my schedule. The technician, Ronny, was nice and helpful, and was able to work with me to quote me a service that fit my problem (I needed a septic pump installed). He even waived a service charge that had apparently not been explained to me over the phone.After little more than an hour, he had installed my new pump and made sure it was working correctly. Roto-Rooter was a pleasure to work with for this plumbing issue, and I'm sure I will be calling them again if I have any more.

I had a great experience with this company. I used them to clear a clogged bath drain, which was completed in less than 30 minutes. The technician Wayne was very nice and even took time to draw me a diagram explaining the process.

We had a drainage issue and thought it was a clogged corrugated pipe, but we were not sure. Eric G. (Tech #476) was outstanding. I like that they sent a project manager out before the service call as a courtesy to see if I needed help with clean-up. I thought that was very good customer service. This was a 3 day experience. We were looking for a plumber in the Detroit area and chose Roto-Rooter. We had a possible plugged sewer line. Day one, Mike came out and gave us an honest opinion to wait until our Septic was pumped before getting the plugged sewer lines snaked. Day two we got the tank pumped but the sewer line still was plugged so we called and someone was to come out that day. No one came which was why Quality was downgraded to Very Good. Day 3 we were assured someone would come and Joe came and did an excellent job. Polite, informative and helpful. However, if service is advertised as Emergency Service Available 24/7, why did we have to wait another 24 hours to get service?

The men were professional, generally speaking. The work was done well and the project manager kept things going well.

Long story short they would not honor their guarantee and I called Roto Rooter. RR was professional and courteous and very knowledgeable about what they were doing. I hope I will not have to call them again but if I do I will not hesitate.

Sean Wilson from the Livonia Michigan office was prompt, careful and let us know every step of the way what was needed and how it was going. He took great care with our house and kept everything very clean. He told us how to prevent future problems. It was a great experience.

Here's the deal..... They arrived promptly and they cleared a vanity drain. OK great. But before they started they sold my wife who was dealing w my little girl 235 dollars to clear one drain. One drain. Then they tried to sell her a 300 cable of the kitchen sink. Guys this is total robbery. She called me in the middle of this deal and I told her just do it because I have a screaming kid and I work 12 hours a day. Had I known ANY good local company would have been 85 - 115 I would have told them go pound salt. We did it for convenience only. I'd never call them again and I'd encourage you to just go to the BBB and look there unless you are in a Real Emergency..... So they did a good job but they were probably laughing after they did that good job in 25 minutes for 235 bucks. Be warned..... Of course you can get quick service lol for 500 an hour I'd be alllllll over your job too. Lawyers make less and dentists do too.

Overpriced. Took advantage of my wife. I bought a faucet that fit the current configuration. They told my wife it didn't fit. Charged us for top of the line faucet, used a sub $100 faucet. We asked for stainless, they gave us chrome. Work plus faucet cost us 4x what a local plumber would have charged. It was a busy season for the local guys and we had emergent work. Never again.

Scheduled an appt, they called left a voicemail to call back and I immediately did - got put on hold for 12 mins they moved the driver said someone else would come no one did. Roto called an hour after the cut off time for someone to come just to reschedule and now it rained and my entire basement is flooded. I could have had someone else here before the storms but I trusted Roto. Update: they just called to say someone was on their way, I explained the situation and they used it as an opportunity to upsell me more services! Getting someone else out here instead - you lost my business for life.

What I thought was a drain or plumbing problem turned out to be a very old, not-working garbage disposal problem. It had to be replaced and everything is working just fine now. Everything was left nice and clean and the plummer (Dana) was very professional, friendly and customer focused. The customer service department was provided really good service since my original appointment type was not what I needed and another service person had to be sent.

We had an issue in the basement. We called Roto Rooter. Your Service Technician named Jake did an excellent job and took of the problem. He was very friendly and professional. The entire staff is very friendly! I would highly recommend Roto Rooter.

The staff completing the work did a good job. However, we were deceived on pricing. We had a job that was going to be an insurance claim and the estimate provided on the % of the job that isn't typically going to be covered by the insurance company was significantly off. It was the difference between $500 and $2,500. The company chalked it up to the plumber doesn't really know that stuff. Which if this is the case, they shouldn't be the ones providing the estimates! It's a big surprise to agree to a project that is one price and then being stuck with a bill for 500% more. Additionally, they wouldn't even provide us with the breakdown of the bill, only would provide it to the insurance company. So we are expected to cover the cost without explanation of the variance in cost!?! Ridiculous way to run a business.

My shower's hot water would not shut off on a Saturday - the hot and cold lines are on separate valves and the handle for the hot water would not shut off. I had to shut water off to the whole house, so I called Roto-Rooter and scheduled an appointment for Tuesday. The woman who took my call was very pleasant and so was the woman who called me to tell me they had a cancellation and could come out the same day I called. The plumber came out and took a look. He did wear his shoe covers and was respectful. Unfortunately that is where the good ends. He told me that my shower cartridge was stripped and need to be replaced. He said the piece that I needed was only available at specialty plumbing stores such as Ferguson's and since those stores weren't open, the repair could not be completed until Monday morning. The price he gave me from their flat rate book to replace it was $443.40 plus HALF the $99 diagnostic fee, so around $500 to replace a shower cartridge. That seems outrageous. I had paid the $99 diagnostic fee and refrained from scheduling. Thank goodness I did. I ended up being able to have someone else look at it and they were able to go to Ace, get the correct piece, fix it the same day within an hour, AND at a MUCH cheaper rate. Long story, short - I am very disappointed by Roto-Rooter. I was lied to about the availability of the piece and that it needed to wait until Monday. Thank goodness I did not schedule with them and lose out on $500, but I am still unhappy that I even wasted $99 on the diagnostic fee considering they were unprepared.

Extremely unprofessional! I called and scheduled an appt to diagnose an fix my water heater and they told me a technician would be out next day between 11am and 3pm. Next day, they call at 1130am and say they have no techs available yet to come out but would be keeping in touch with me and call 30minutes before they dispatch one. 3pm comes and I still haven't received a call and I call them back and they say they still have no techs available but to give them another 90minutes and they'll let me know. They call at 4:30 and say still no techs and won't have one available to come out and look at it that day and want to reschedule for the following day! They also told me they couldn't guarantee that a tech could come out the following day either! What's the point of scheduling an appt if they don't keep it?? I told them I already took 1 day off work and can't take another. I ended up going with a different local company that I called at 5pm and they came out that night at 6pm and fixed it!

We had some water backing up from a floor drain in our basement and called Roto Rooter to address the issue. The tech that came out, Columbus, could not have been more courteous, professional and knowledgeable. He quickly diagnosed the problem - collapsed sewer line - and presented several different options moving forward. Due to restrictions with a third party sewer line warranty company, I was unable to have Roto Rooter do the repairs, but would have without hesitation.

Service Tech Alfonzo was professional, friendly and most important was extremely knowledgeable. Fixed issue in a timely manner.

My pipes froze at the end of the year 2022...As a result of the freeze...later the pipe burst...and water was discovered Christmas night after returning home...water rushing from the main shutoff area...To make a long story short...The first company that came up when I googled the issue was Roto-Rooter...Although the insurance company refered a different company...who was too slow getting started...Russ the plumber for Roto- Rooter informed me that his company did all the work I needed with Restoration for the damage...not just plumbing...So I hired Roto-Rooter instead of the company my Insurance company suggested...The first part of the restoration was completed today (1-26-23)...Kyle with other workers...disposing the content of the basement...and getting it completely dry...It took a couple of weeks to dry...with machinery running 24/7...The plumber...Russ...did a great job repairing water pipes getting the water up and running...Project Manager, Michael went the second mile informing me of information I needed that the insurance company should have informed me...That Insurance company moto is...You're in good hands with themselves...I now say...You're in good hands with Roto-Rooter...

Too expensive

Frank D'UvaHad some issues with my drain backing up in my new laundry room and then again when doing 1/2 bath. Called roto rooter and a tech,(Joe Riay)came out about an hour later , checked out the layout of my main drain lines, figured out which drain to snake and resolved the problem in about an hour. Very prompt and efficient, and conscience of keeping work area clean. Would recommend to anyone with drainage problems.

OMG…where do I begin? Dikembe first explained his plan of action to determine the source of the drain back-up. Outstanding communicator.I knew exactly what to expect & a possible fee. He eliminated the possible sources meticulously. To be such a young man, I was really grateful for his attention to detail. Dikembe, our tech, also exhibited great customer care. We recently had a major water main issue at a house we just moved into. I called Roto Rooter based on a google search and I’m so glad I did. Everyone I talked to from the initial call to the guys onsite were very friendly and helpful. They were prompt and flexible as our issue went from not so urgent to urgent. Tom was our main contact and he was awesome - he was easy to communicate with, understood that our issue required extra details for an insurance claim, easy to get ahold of, flexible as we went back and forth with booking time, etc. The work we had done required excavation in our yard and this work was done very well - we had no issues and the guys got the work done quickly so we could get our water back! It was a very stressful time for us and Tom and the Roto Rooter team really helped ease the stress with their knowledge, promptness and good work. Highly recommend!

Unexpectedly I had water coming up from the floor drain due to the blockage in my septic line! I immediately cleaned up the puddle but noticed the odor of raw sewage, which gave me the idea that there was a blockage in my sewer line. I immediately called the rotor rooter and followed the prompt to schedule an appointment online, which failed. Shortly after that, I immediately got up the following day before the hours of operation and gave them a call. Service Rep scheduled by appointment and service Rep pardon name of Matthew came all time it was very punctual very knowledgeable about my issue inform me of what he needed to do. And performed the corrective actions that took place. Cutting the cap off and replacing the cap. Snaking the drain.

Matt was my technician he diagnosed my plumbing problem and explained to me what needed to be done. Matt is very professional and informative. Called me when he got to my house and stayed in constant communication with me about the situation at my rental property. Matt was very efficient and did an exceptional job on resolving my Plumbing problem. I was not at home when we had a plumbing emergency, but Roto-Rooter happily provided plumbing services to my home with my mom there. When I called, customer service was exceptional--both quick and friendly. My mom said the plumber was friendly and helpful. Even though he couldn’t resolve the issue after trying and we went with another option, he was still able to give us advice on how to permanently fix our problem in the future and he even called to check up to see if it was resolved. We called because our floor drains were backing up into our basement. Columbus #472 (the tech that came to our house) was amazing. He explained everything multiple times in different ways so that my wife and I knew exactly what all our options were. They responded with an email and a phone call, ensuring that all the bases were covered to make the repair as painless as possible.If you have plumbing issues, you know who to call to make the issues go down the drain.

Got home from a 2 week vacation to find 2 inches of water in the basement.. Lots of rain while I was gone. Called Roto-Rooter in Detroit and they were booked for the next few days, because everyone was flooding. Saturday the plumber Mark came out and got to work. He snaked the floor drain that leads to the sump and pulled out a bucket full of roots, but still no flow. We then went to the sump and started working back from there. Pulled out more roots, then started grinding on some packed sand. Finally, after about 4 hours we got a big gusher and I knew that was good news. Definitely got my money's worth out of Mark that day.. :)The only thing that was a little annoying was the travel fee, which was not mentioned until it was time to pay. They should tell you that up front, as I was not expecting it. It was not included in the estimate, either. Other than that, it was great.

On March 14th, I made a call to this company, some one showed up and charged me $100 dollars for just locating the drain position which is in my parking lot, and then he told me the 100 dollars would be weaved if I ordered their 1399 cleaning service, I agreed and he promised he will come back before 10 am on the next day and finish the job before my business open at 11:30 am and get paid.Then on March 15th, when I arrived my business, I was told the cleaning truck was left without any of the cleaning job was done.I called their office again and rescheduled another service on 22nd, Friday morning, I talked with a gentleman in their office and he promised they will get to my parking lot to do the job with a time window from 10 am to 2pm, I will be charged after their job is done. I said yes, but no one showed up, the same person who was here at the first time just called me saying their company has a policy for a credit card registration which no one ever asked me before. I had to make another phone call with the technician and the office in a conference call, the same person in office promised me again, he would discount the 100 dollars off, make the whole deal at 1300 even, also I can provide the payment when I see the cleaning truck in the parking lot. I was fine with that.But then today March 23rd, a van showed up around 10:00 am, different technician saying there is no truck coming within couple hours.....And I need to pay upfront...........Worst experience ever.

So I tried to put in a new vanity in my bathroom and my pipes are too low. I tried to get a plumer for that day and they said they would come out the next day. They called and changed the date for two more days of waiting which mean I still have no water in my house. So the day comes when they are supposed to come and they do not show up! No call, Nothing. So basically they are string me along and not fixing my plumbing.

Needed to hydrojet sewer line due to root blockage returning 6 months after attending to cut them out

Scheduled an appointment online late and night and they were there first thing in the morning the next day. Called them for a simple snake job but the problem turned out to be with the sewer line underneath the house (a very big job). The manager offered to put the cost of the snake towards the sewer line repair and they were able to come out 3 days later to do the work. Roto-Rooter is a little expensive but they get the job done fast and they get it done right. Would recommend to others.

I had a basement drain backup that was initially addressed by Roto-Rooter. However, the issue returned less then 6 months later. I called Roto-Rooter who within 30 minutes sent out a technician (James S). He methodically surveyed the situation, identified the source of the problem and successfully corrected the situation. I am a well satisfied customer and will refer Roto-Rooted to others in the future.

Ticket Number was 2231034. I submitted a request for service to unclog a basement drain via their website for 9/1/2020. I received a confirmation email at 7:49 pm on 8/31/2020 that the tech would be there on 9/1 in-between 12pm-4pm. At 3:32 pm the day of the service, I called their office to get an ETA as it was getting close to 4pm and I had not heard from Roto-Rooter. The person on the other end explain that the tech was backed up on the other job and would be on their way after that job. Fine, these thing happen. At 5:27pm, I called the number again to get an update on when the new ETA would be of the tech. Again, they did not have an updated ETA. At 6:40pm, someone from their office finally CALLED me to inform me that their tech would not make it and they would send someone first thing in the morning as this was a High priority. The window of service was scheduled for 8 am -12 pm for 9/2/2020. At 9:57 am, I received a called from them the tech was on his way to my house and should be there within a half hour. When the tech never arrived, I called the office at 11:02 am to see what happened with the tech. The person on the phone said Oh, the tech was called back to the office and should be on his way. No one thought to give me a curiosity call to explain the delay since my job was a high priority but was treated as anything but. The tech finally arrived around 11:50 am to my house. I unlocked my side door and open up the way to go into the basement and waited on the tech to get his notepad, put his mask and gloves on, etc. The very first thing he said to me was There is a $99 travel fee before I can do anything. Not, sorry for the multiple delays and inconvenience but money first! You can imagine my surprise as first, there wasn't anything notifying me when I schedule the appointment there was now a travel fee. 2nd, as Roto Rooter tied up 2 of my days because of their delays, you would think my high priority job and a repeat customer, they would waive the fee gladly as they basically missed 2 appointment windows. I understand fees but when you act in unprofessional and inconvenient manner and then expect the customer to pay YOU added fees for that inconvenience, then there is something seriously wrong with your business model. The tech said he would called his supervisor to go over the fee. I asked the tech if they would be willing to waive the fee, he shock his head to indicate no and if I wanted to speak with his supervisor. I told him no thanks and that I would write a bad review on their unprofessional-ism. I've had them do jobs for me in the past and was never this bad. But moving forward, no thanks to Roto-Rooter.

They charged us an arm and a leg to fix a pipe in our basement. Of course, we understood this, since they had to go through the concrete and everything. However, they told us they'd be taking care of replacing everything, too, and did not. They left a huge hole in our drywall, all of our flooring (only a small part of it actually needed to be removed) and left the floor unfinished and bare, and even hooked up our washer incorrectly when they had to move it. We were already not pleased with this, but we were at least glad that our insurance was willing to reimburse us for all we paid for, plus replacement of the flooring since we then had to go elsewhere for that. However, Roto Rooter is now trying to bill us an additional over $10,000 that we never signed for or agreed to pay. They insist that our insurance simply sent us the payment instead and now we need to pay that, but I spoke to our insurance and they confirmed that it was reimbursement for what we paid for, it was not meant to be paid to them since we had already paid them for everything we signed for. But Roto Rooter won't listen to us, and are still trying to bill us. Which we absolutely will not be paying, since we have no obligation and never agreed to this, and our insurance confirmed that it wasn't meant to be additional payment to them. But it really sucks to be constantly harassed by them and told we need to give them our reimbursement money. We already broke the bank to get our problem taken care of because they insisted we'd be reimbursed most of it, and now they just wanna take it. We are extremely upset and will be telling every single person we know not to use this company, ever.

My tech arrived at the closing window of the appt. He made up for it with his expertise and knowledge of the job. He gave me the options​ for the work for that day. He made the of flushing out the area near the basement toilet. Wo.rked​ well with in the 7day period. May need go flush the main drain now. .. Didn't have to the money for it on card or on me. Not his fault. He did what he could with money on card I had. Hard working​ poor woman. Thanks.

The storm drain in my basement was backed up so I called Roto-Rooter after hours on a Friday and was able to easily secure an appointment at the last minute for Saturday.The plumber, Mark, was right on time even though the roads were bad that morning. Fantastic service! Doing laundry on Sunday afternoon I found out that my kitchen branch line had become completely clogged and any new water coming in just backed up to start flooding my kitchen. I called Roto-Rooter right away, and they were able to send someone out the next day to take care of it. Matt was great, professional, and extremely thorough: not only did he snake and clear the line, but he checked after to make sure it was taken care of -- and when he started hearing gurgling from the drain again, he did the whole process over to make sure it really was good to go! I appreciate both the hard work and the extra effort to make sure the problem was resolved. If I have any other issues, I'll definitely call again!

Buyer be warned. They try to get you for every penny. $40 just to give you an estimate, probably because they know their prices are outrageous. They sent James to our house and he wanted to charge 3 different jobs up to over $800! Just to snake the clean out drain in our basement. Made a big deal about how he had to remove the toilet and how he couldn't use the drain hole because it was too close to the wall. Needless to say it was $40 down the drain and I sent him on his way. He also had a sarcastic tone the entire time. He needs to work on his customer service. We called Paul C Scott and it was $500 cheaper with zero hassle. Great customer service too. No hidden fees either! Took less than a half hour and the drain is back to normal. Roto-Rooter's plumber try to take advantage of customers who don't understand plumbing. Beware!

Patrick Walsh was at our residence within two hours of our telephone call. He cleaned our toilet drain for now and suggested a new fixture that would give a more lasting solution to a drain that iscontinually getting plugged. I was very satisfied with his knowlege and manner.

The plumber was very nice, however, it took three visits to fix a leaky toilet. Also, when we complained about the $400 additional he wanted to charge us on the third visit, it magically was reduced to $82. Makes me think I should have complained at the first $290. We won't be calling them again.

My basement was backed up and filling up with water. I called and had an appointment between 12 and 4pm. A rep called me and told me the guy was on his way to my house next at 3pm. The guy never showed up and thr rep stop answering his phone. Waited all day just to get jerked.

We were able to secure services quickly and conveniently. We received courtesy calls estimating arrival time, which were honored. Our technician, AJ, was very polite, professional and helpful. He explained the problem at hand, rendered a solution and gave helpful advice in relation to the problem. He offered and explained additional service we might consider, without being pushy, but informative. I appreciate that and as a result, would consider using the company in the future, and specifically, follow AJ's advice.

We have 7 bathrooms in our building here at Laser Cutting Company & six of them started to back up along with the floor drains on Friday May 5th. 2017. Roto-Rooter responded within an hour. After power flushing the cleanout a break in the pipe was discovered using a 200' camera. The break was 150' away. Roto-Rooter gave us a quote Friday. Tuesday morning after they pulled permits & called miss-dig the work began. Within 4 hours our service was fully restored! Would I recommend Roto-Rooter? YOU BET!

Eddie was professional and knowledgeable. He quickly got the drained opened up without any problems. The only problem is $265 for 30 minutes worth of work...they know they have you over a barrel and you gotta pay it so you can get water flowing in your house. The price is the only reason for not giving them 5 stars...$150 would be a reasonable price, $50 for the tech, $50 for the equipment, and $50 for the vehicle.

Love the whole experience. Called on Monday, and they had an appointment available for Tuesday afternoon. I asked if I could do Wednesday morning to minimize my time out the office. He said sure and would ask the person to get there as close to 8 am as possible. I received a call around 8am to let me know the techs name and that he was on his was. Eddie (my tech) arrived around 8:30 and was super nice and very knowledgeable. Since I had just purchased the home two weeks earlier, he explained quite a few things before clearing my main and storm drains. He even let me know the recommended maintenance schedule. I was very scared that this might be an expensive plumbing problem, but Eddie was very nice and walked me through everything. Great experience.

I was quoted $700.to snake out my main drain & to replace a flotation device in the tank. I didn't have that he agreed on $200.to snake the drain.im still having clean water back up on my basement floor. The next morning.

I called Roto Rooter to follow up on a main drain issue I had back in October. I believed that it was the same issue I had the first time and expected to have the cleanout covered under warranty.My experience with the on-site technician AJ was very positive. He was very polite and professional during the entire visit. I cannot say the same for his counterpart on the other end of the line when he called for a reference back to the first visit, I believe his name may have been Forrest. As we inspected and talked out the issue further, we discovered it was not the same problem, but Forrest was very condescending and was convinced that I should have taken the original recommendation in the first place. As I was sounding out the issue with AJ, while Forrest was on speakerphone, I heard him immediately discredit me and say he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Well as it turns out, my theory was correct, AJ and I talked at out, and we solved the issue by cleaning a different floor line than was originally suggested. This fixed the problem and AJ thoroughly inspected his work to make sure we were good to go.Now I know this is not about right or wrong and I know when problems lie underground, experience and guesswork sometimes has to come in to play. I know I am not the expert and I called Roto Rooter for a reason, but I really can’t stand when I feel like I’m being pressured into a “professional recommendation” especially when that condescending voice on the other end of the line is not on-site and has no clue what they are talking about. This is why I generally don’t like using big companies like RR. I don’t feel like they are really concerned about taking care of the customer, only selling them on their expensive fancy laminated repair plans. I’m glad AJ was such a good representative or it would have been a more frustrating experience.

We hired Roto-Rooter to do an entire sewer line replacement. Paid 4500 about 6-7 years ago. Their staff assured me that the new line is good for 50+ years and that the tree cannot get through it. Now it's broken, we called and they pretended not to have our order. Told them would contact the city to ask why they did work without a permit. Suddenly they remembered then said they only guarantee for one year.Horrible services. Liars. Avoid these people. They do bad work and then they don't stand by it.

Most companies wanted to charge an additional fee for working on the weekend, Roto Rooter provided weekend appointments and time slots instead of making me take the whole day for a small service. Very knowledgeable technician was friendly and helped me decide on a good service package without trying to price gouge or upsell me with stuff I didn't need. I was very happy with the service provided and will be using them for future projects.

Roto Rooter is the best. From the time I called they were here in about an hour. The pipes in the ceiling were full of waste water. Rather than opening up the clean-out and letting 15 gallons of water out onto the carpeted floor Charlie took the time to drain the pipes by using a wet vac and opening the cap just enough to drain the lines. Saved 15 gallons of sewer water from contaminating my carpet. Great Job!!!

Today March 21, 2017 Columbus (Tech 472) came to my home in response my call of just yesterday to Roto Rooter because of a leaking garbage disposal and non-draining dishwasher. He was on time and pleasant, as he was last December when he first came to address a plugged/sluggish basement drain. In addition to snaking that drain he also left with me a jug of Pipe Shield with instructions for its use. I asked for him specifically this time because of his knowledgeable words and actions as well as most pleasant demeanor. Today Columbus explained the problem and then replaced the disposal which relieved the back-up thereby allowing the dishwasher to empty. He left my kitchen clean and functional ~ the dishwasher is running as I write this. For any future plumbing issues I will most certainly request him and tell any and all friends and family with a similar need to call Roto Rooter and specifically ask for him. Thank you very much.

I had just moved in to a house and in the first week things were fine. The fun started when the washer, dish washer or even taking a shower caused water to back up into the house. I called many different plumbers and none could fit me in anywhere due to the high volume of calls everyone was receiving because of all the rain. When I called Roto-Rooter they were up front about the volume of calls they had but that they would put me on the list and set a time up for a technician to come out. I had them to my house 4 times in a three week span. The first technician that came out was very pleasant and informative every step of the way. When he left everything was fine, unfortunately within 3 days the line backed up again and I had to make another call to have them come out (thank you for the Residential Guarantee). When the technician was running late due to a problem at the job before me they called to let me know and apologized for the delay. When the same technician came out the second time he was still very pleasant and when he pulled roots out this time he took the time to explain all the possibilities and offered to have a person come out and take a look in my lines with a camera. The following day a technician came out and put the camera in my line and was surprised at how clean it was until we ran into a wall of roots. He explained different options I could take and the cost of each and every one of the options and left the decision to me. I took the option of having my line jetted (Roto-Rooter had the best prices believe me I called at least 6 other plumbers). When the gentlemen came out to jet the line they were very efficient and pleasant and once again they double checked their work by putting the camera in the line again. Thankfully I have no major damage to my lines and they gave me a rough estimate to have them come out and fix the bad spot in my line where the roots are getting in. Now I cannot tell you how frustrating it was to get into a new place with my kids (4) and not be able to use water for 3 weeks because it kept backing up but by choosing Roto-Rooter I knew every step of the way what was going on and how much it would cost me. Thank you to all the employees at Roto for making my experience such a pleasant one considering the situation. If in the future I have any more problems I know who I will call.I am going to pass on a piece of advice I received by one of the last technicians that came to my house. If you are purchasing a new house you may want to invest in having someone come out and put a camera through your lines because they can detect the roots or damage that may become a large expense or a big surprise when all of a sudden your line is backing up.

We needed a plumber in the Detroit area. Called the company on Monday evening, and they told me they put me down for 9am-noon the next day for a plumber to come out. No one arrived until approximately 1:30 pm. My adult son was home and called back mid morning since we hadn't heard from anyone, and was told that they has us scheduled for any time. They put us down for ASAP at the time of his call.The plumber was very professional and pleasant. It was a major problem and he kept in contact with my husband whom was out of town for work. I would probably call them again if there is an issue.

We had called around to find out prices for coming to look at our water heater when the pilot light wouldn't stay lit. When we called the Roto-Rooter plumber in the metro Detroit area, they told us that they could give a free estimate, so we scheduled the appointment. We were given a window of 3 to 5, were called around 4 that he was on his way and he got here by 4:30. He was very polite and courteous, gave us an estimate and then told us there was a $40 travel fee, which we had NOT been informed of over the phone.The $40 fee still would have been the cheapest for someone to come out, and we probably STILL would have booked the appointment, but the fact that they purposefully deceived us by saying they could give a free estimate and did not mention the fee has made us decide not to go with them for a water heater (which was overpriced, now that we've continued to check around).

We had a standing water back-up at the basement floor drain. Roto-Rooter was called and came out within a couple of hours, diagnosed the issue, ran the power snake to clean out the drains, and found a problem with an old, stuck back-flow preventer. This was broken loose and good flow was subsequently restored. The technician worked efficiently and answered all our questioned in a friendly and respectful manner. Would have given Roto-Rooter five stars since the technician worked hard and cleaned up the mess afterwards so we have no complaints about the job. My only complaint was the cost which was much more than we expected but, since it had to be done, we have no right to complain.

I was having trouble in my basement, it was backing up black gunk. I called several company's and Roto-Rooter was the most reasonably priced and was able to come right away. The Technician Brandon #406 came out and tried to snake and use a camera and stated he was unable to get past 40ft. He stated that if we were to call back and let him come out and do a power wash and use the camera they would give us a discount on the bill. He also was very willing to come on a Sunday. He arrived in a timely manner and was very informative. He took us through all the steps he was doing and answered each and every question. He is a very polite and professional man. I would Highly recommend them, and if it is possible to ask for Brandon #406. Oh yeah and he saved us almost $200.00.

We had an unforeseen sump pump back up in our newly built home. Our finished basement had a great deal of water soaking into the carpet and trim. The Roto Rooter team came out quickly and helped assess the damage. They were able to replace the pump, remove all damaged materials, and begin drying the basement out in a matter of HOURS!! The gentlemen that came to do the labor were beyond informative and friendly. They kept us notified of their progress and called in between service appointments. My husband and I were so pleased with their help that it made our nightmare much less upsetting. We actually became very calm and confident that this flood would be as though it never happened. We would gladly recommend Roto Rooter to anyone with a small or large plumbing issue. We will undoubtedly use them for all of our needs in the future. It was truly a great experience!

Had a sewer drain backing up, had them come out and snake and camera... after 2 hours, they told me our sewer pipe was broken and quoted $10,000 to fix it... just had another plumbing company (G &C plumbing ) come for a quote... $85 to snake my drain 30 min.s in and out and it's all fixed. .. so for a pipe that was clogged they tried rushing and scaring me into paying 10 grand and I'm sure they may have gotten other females to fall for their scam. But please shop around before you trust this company! We will never use this company again and I'll make sure anyone I know will never use it.

Clogged Drain problem: Noah - drain tech came out, evaluated situation and determind a pipe replacement tech be sent out. Eugene came out and replaced drum trap with drain arm. Took his time, didn't rush did a good job and cleaned up afterward. These guys did good and I appreciate it.

Tim was our service person and has been incredibly helpful. Roto-Rooter was timely with regard to coming to assess our concerns, and scheduled another date to come do the repair. He worked efficiently and showed us what he was doing and why, and discussed maintenance and preventative measures with us prior to leaving. Called rotar rooter back in 2018 to clear our basement overflow drain and they did a great job. This time the techs only tried to clear it for an hour or so before telling us we'd need to have our line dug up, which would be a minimum of $4800. Luckily we got a second opinion and the next company cleared the line within an hour.

Can’t say enough good things about this visit. I had been trying to use Angi site for service but they weren’t able to fix a clogged drain and kept rescheduling to get someone out. I had an excellent experience with Roto-Rooter, from the call for service to completion of the job. The service call assoicate was friendly and professional. All my questions were answered. I was informed I would be receiving a call about 30 minutes prior to the plumber arriving, which did indeed happen. When the plumber arrived, he introduced himself and shook my hand. I explained my issue, he checked out the sump pump and diagnosed the problem. He complete the service in approximately 45 minutes and left the area clean when done. The plumber in the Detroit area (Antonio Geircia) was very professional. He explained everything that could be wrong from analyzing the issues I was having. He also showed me the prices for each issue before the work was preform. Roto-Rooter is a little pricey compared to renting your on snake, but it was worth the price to me.
