That is lightning fast service for an HVAC company! They resolved the issue to the extent possible and gave us a range of options moving forward. I normally am apprehensive about the companies that warranties like to partner with and have had bad experiences in the past, but Home Service Corp was very helpful and supportive. Would use again even without warranty.

I must say I had an excellent experience with this service call. I wasn't even off the phone with my insurance company before I received a text from HSC informing me my service call was received. By 8 am a live person from HSC called and an appointment was made for the same day. No more cold showers....thanks!!!

I was quoted a time window of 12-4 and at 11:50 I received a call that my tech was en route!! I NEVER get that type of response time from vendors. It’s usually at the very last minute of the time window or they’re late. The guy was awesome, educated me on the care of my hot water heater, and he go the job done quickly.

They are a contractor for DTE Energy. They were sent out to my home to repair the toilet. The repair person forgot to turn the water back on and when we called for them to come back out (we couldnt manually do it ourselves) we had to wait until the next morning. Not because a repair person wasnt available. Nooo, it was because they have a policy not to go to Detroit in the evening. Detroit is apparently a good enough city to make money in during the day but for safety reasons they refused to return at night. If you're too cowardly to do business in a certain city during certain times of day then dont do ANY business in that city. I would NEVER recommend this company and if DTE ever tries to send them out again, we will refuse.

American home shield contracted home service corporation to fix our boiler. We were having issues with the boiler not turning off. Our initial appointment was with Justin. Justin was very friendly and professional. He thought the problem was a bad thermostat however upon replacing the thermostat he triple checked the unit and noticed there was also a problem with one of the valves. He unfortunately did not have the valve on his truck but put in an order to get it ASAP. We then had Murad come out with the new valve 2 days later. Scheduling a second visit went very smoothly and they offer a good selection of times. Murad was also very friendly and professional. He was running a bit late but I was well informed of this. It was nice to have someone reach out to let me know he was running behind, it showed the company really cares about their customers. Overall, I would contact them again for any future problems. This is September Girard I had Brian Buck come to my house to check my water heater because it was leaking he brought a brand new water heater and installed it for us he was a very good service person for me he did everything good he knew his job and he did it very well I thought I would have to wait till Monday for him to come back but when I called is work and ask them on the phone they called him and said he can come back between 12 and 4 so that was really cool he got our warm water going again so we can take a warm shower in use our dishwasher if anybody needs a good Master Plumber give a house Service Corporation a call ask for Brian buck he is a really good person to do it for you thank you Brian Buck for all your help and getting our water back on thank you so much

Not sure where to start with this review. But I have a home warranty thru Homeshield. And about a week ago my hot water tank died on me. They sent someone out from Home service Corp to inspect it and confirm that we needed a new. We did. Now here is where the fun starts. Homeshield would cover the cost of the new hot water tank and the install, but we were being told we'd be on the hook for another $1100 worth of updates in order to install a new tank. Not knowing much about the install process we asked our normal licensed plumber to come by and take a look at it. He informed us that NO updates were necessary. So now feeling like Home Service might be trying to get over on us we started inspecting all the prices they were giving us for things. They wanted to charge $150 to get a permit from the city of Detroit to do the install. I called down to the city and was informed it's $30 for permit and another $50 to file. So where is the other $70 coming from? When we called to ask about the additional unnecessary cost we had the pleasure of speaking to Ross who could not explain his company trying to over charge people, but simply told us you know you got other options. So that's exactly what we did. Bought the hot water tank out of pocket and had our regular plumber install it all which was still less than the $1100 in updates they wanted to charge. I plan on reaching out to DTE as well because I see they promote these con artist. You've been warned. Stay clear of these crooks that look to rob you in your time of need.

I will stay away from this company completely. I have an issue with my rental unit on 09/20 and I informed American Home Shield warranty service. AHS contracted Home service Corp to resolve this issue. The Technician from HSC failed to contact my Tenant to confirm appointment and charged a $125.00 service fees for no work done. The response from HSC says- Tenant unavailable and their company policy to charge fees for no work done. This company has been reported accordingly to several organizations. There are several good companies to use in the down river area, not Home service corp.

Very useless company, not recommended and if there was a zero rating I will definately.

After more than 30 years, our Montgomery Ward garbage disposal finally bit the dust. We had a great experience with Home Service Corporation. Our plumber, Sean, did an amazing job. He arrived on time, has a very pleasant attitude and cleaned up after his work. He even shut the gate on the way out! It was a bonus he had the part on hand and was able to do the job on one trip.

I had to have my breaker box replaced urgently. Tom Bessette and Josh were the two who came to do the work. They were punctual, kept me informed during the process, were friendly, and went the extra mile to make sure all the new breakers were labeled correctly. I appreciate their dedication to doing the job and doing it efficiently!

I was promised someone would be coming out to my house today with an ordered part to fix my furnace after they came out TWICE this week and didn’t fix it. It has been 12 degrees outside and My house is freezing!!! I have a FOUR YEAR OLD DAUGHTER! I would NOT RECOMMEND THEM FOR ANYTHING. I’ve called several times and was told they closed at 7 and to find out they closed at 6. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE and I will share with EVERYONE I KNOW AND EVERY WEBSITE I CAN.

Even though the guys were running a bit late, it was such a pleasure having them in my house and fix my tub for me. James and Kevin were so nice and worked quickly. I had an AC tune up done and was told everything was fine. 3 weeks later, AC stopped working. Called the company on Saturday for emergency repair twice, no response. Called another contractor, he came and told me the capacitor was blown, which caused the compressor locked up. Now I'm waiting the manufacturer to send me a new compressor. This company is a big letdown and customer service is nonexistent when you most need it.

I was assigned Home Service Corp by American Home Shield to diagnose my leaking water heater. They came out in a timely manner and told me my water heater would have to be replaced. After dealing with the warranty company, they said it would be an additional $600 for materials not covered by the warranty to replace the water heater. This included $150 to file a $25 permit with the city. They came out three days later to perform the work and did so in the time stated. Before the technician left, he told me they did all the appropriate gas leak checks before he left. Also, I never received an invoice nor was asked to sign anything to verify the work or costs.

We went out of town that weekend and when we returned, the house reeked of gas. We called the local gas company and they determined the gas leak was coming from the newly replaced water heater. This company’s work put my family’s lives in danger and could have destroyed my home, and I will not be recommending them to anyone that needs plumbing, electrical, or HVAC work.

Home Service was contracted through my home warranty company to repair a faucet. The repairman was nice, professional, and explained what was going on. He even gave me tips for how to identify parts if I needed future repair and explained the mechanisms within the faucet. Very satisfied.

Brian Buck has been out to our house many times. And always does an excellent job. I would highly recommend him and would give him 10 stars if I could!

This company's repairman came out and then the company spoke with my home warranty company and told them what cost would be and then this company called me and told me that above what the warranty company would pay which was for the new hot water tank installation the cost would be an additional $1,700.00 for unnecessary work. I hired my own plumber that did the entire job for $1,100.00, which was to simply replace the hot water tank, which is all that was needed. This company wanted to add on replacing other parts that were within code and not worn therefore not in need of replacement. A few years ago this company was assigned to repair the main water line shut off valve. This company called my home warranty and told them that the valve was damaged by me. Insane, like I went down in the basement and created a leak that flooded my basement. Both times they came out they did not disclose to me at that time what work needed to be done, yet managed to inflate the work needed to be done to the home warranty company.

The entire team was fantastic. They were responsive, professional, and friendly. And they did not leave until the job was completed. Thank you!

Gary, the HVAC technician was very prompt in calling to confirm my appointment and even tried to fit me in earlier than initially scheduled. He was very professional and courteous, and made sure to put bags over his shoes so as not to track in any snow into my home. He was spot on with the diagnosis of what was wrong with my boiler and when I called back the next day, to ask a question, he returned my call that day, which was a Saturday. Wednesday night I made an emergency call re a constant leak from under the kitchen sink. Demetrius called and said he was on his way. After finally getting the water shut off (we couldn’t find whole house shut off valve) he found out he didn’t have the part in his truck. Since faucet parts weren’t up to code he returned back to house first thing in morning and installed the new faucet. Demetri was very knowledgeable, professional, dependable, and responsible. I have a home warranty and they agreed to replace my AC and coil and home services corp charged me $1,745 to install for way way overpriced items. They charged me $300 for a permit which is not even close to how much a permit is. They also charged me for random modifications when they didn’t even come to my house to check if those things are needed. If you have to replace something and warranty covers it make sure to ask the warranty company for other companies or options.

Brian, a Master Plumber, with HomeService Corporation went out of his way to make sure all of my plumbing problems were taken care of professionally and in a timely manner. I highly recommend him. Truly the first honest and customer oriented plumber I have had the pleasure of doing business with in my 63 years.

Service was not completed in a timely manner. I had to call multiple times and did not receive phone calls in return.

Kevin D was fast and efficient! He repaired our sink, toilet, and shower within minutes. He was very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. I would recommend his services anytime!

Service was good, as always, but dispatcher who called to schedule the appointment did not enter the correct four hour window. The tech came and I wasn’t home. This was rectified with a phone call and another tech was dispatched within an hour

Scheduled an appointment for A/C repair via American Home Shield home warranty company. I was guaranteed the first appointment in a 4-8:00 time slot. I took a half a day off of work to be there to wait for the tech. At 7:45 after no word from the tech I called and was told I'm running behind, I have two more jobs in front of you still. I told him not to bother as I wouldn't do business with a company that doesn't respect their customers enough to even call when they're running several hours late.

I got a call a few days later to reschedule and they wouldn't offer anything sooner than 10 more days (which included another 4 hour window on a work day - they do not work weekends, mornings or nights). I asked to speak to a supervisor and waited another 2 days only to be told nothing they can do I just have to wait but she'd call me if any spots open up.

Then today they cancelled the service call, reported back to the home warranty company that I was not cooperative, wouldn't let them onto my property, and then they lied and reported the work order was completed which triggered $100 being pulled from my bank account to pay my deductible for services they never performed. THIEVES! CROOKS! LIARS!

Came to fix air conditioning. Needed freon 4 pounds. I would wonder why it needs the freon since the unit is only 5 years old . I paid the fee. A week later freon is empty again. Strange they come back out oh it has a leak . I would have thought you would have looked for the leak first .

Very poor service! We were referred to them by our home warranty company. We called twice and left a message but never received a call back.

Okay, so I dont usually write reviews, but I really felt the need to write this review after being serviced twice by a one of the service technicians named Murad. Murad initially came to our home after our heat broke down and our DTE protection plan connected us with Home Service Corporation. Murad was so polite and so personable and also respected Covid rules and kept his mask on the hole time. Murad not only fixed our heat that day, but he also point out that our heating and cooling room had poor ventilation. My husband and I are expecting a baby and our living space is our finished basement. Murad recommended fresh air vents be put in to keep the air we were breathing clean. He encouraged me to research the purpose of a fresh air vent and also let us know Home Service Corporation provided the service. After we decided we needed them installed, Home Service Corporation was able to cater to our busy work schedule and sent Murad back over. I felt horrible because I made him wait outside my house for 15 minutes while driving home from work and he was still polite. Not only did he install the vents quickly, but he asked me for my vacuum so he could clean up the mess he made!!!!! Does anyone do that anymore haha. I am very happy with the courtesy and care of this service provider!

American Home Shield sent Home Service Corp to my home on 4-12 to fix a backed up drain in my basement. The plumber arrived, tried to snake the drain and claimed he was unable to because of tree roots causing the backup in the pipes. the plumber said they were unable to clear tree root clogs and we would need to use somewhere else. AHS told us tree roots are not covered by our home warranty and referred us to another plumbing company. The other company cleared the *toilet paper* clog that was 13ft down the pipe, and sent a camera all the way to the city pipes to verify that there is no tree roots in my pipes. I dont even have trees in my yard. anyway, now this simple TP clog has cost me $400 out of pocket for what would have been covered by my home warranty if Home Service Corp had done the job right in the first place.

Demitri is very PROFESSIONAL!!! He explained the process, thoroughly, to repair a water leak and is very knowledgeable about is craft. Good customer service goes a long way with Me and Home Service Corporation set the bar. I highly recommend their services. Thank You again, Demitri.

This company was assigned to me by American Home Shield to inspect my furnace. The first guy that came out said there was no issue with it but it just needed a part added. It took a week for a second guy to come out and install that part; however, the second guy informed me the part was not going to help since the furnace is actually unsafe to run and I’d be putting myself and my house at risk by running it. Not only was I dealing with 2 wildly different opinions on a very serious matter but it turns out the second guy never turned his report in to this company or American Home Shield which has forced me back to square one to get this issue resolved as the weather gets increasingly colder. I’m not sure what this company cares about, but it’s definitely not taking care of its clients or providing even average service. I could not recommend this company less and would try any other options for furnace repair before relying on them.

Our furnace wasnt starting up and we were directed to Home Service Corp from our warranty company. Shane, the technician, came very promptly during our appt time. He quickly identified the problem and made the necessary arrangements to get the parts. He got the parts and fixed the repair in no time. I was told by another company my air conditioner was unrepairable , my daughter in-law told me about American Home Shield which lead me to Home Service Corp, which I am happy to say my air conditioner is working now just in time for summer.

We contacted DTE for furnace repair. Patrick Duncan and his assistant were sent from Home Service Corp. They were not only efficient and committed to getting our heat up and running but polite and totally cleaned the area. Great Customer Service!!!

This company was assigned by home warranty company (First American HW) to diagnose and fix my furnaces. Israel came out to look at the furnaces and diagnosed one as a broken gas valve and the second with a broken heat exchanger. He told us that he would push for replacement on both. A few days later he called me and told me that they could do the repair on the gas valve but the second claim (heat exchanger) was denied due to the furnace being under extended warranty through Carrier. The price for fixing the gas valve was unclear but he said there might be extra cost depending on if they had to change things.
For the heat exchanger he proceeded to give me a quote for a new furnace, even though I knew by now that Carrier would cover parts and some of the labor for a repair. At this point, I started to not trust HSC. I looked at the reviews here on Google and saw many people reporting poor experiences with home warranties and this company. I had two other contractors come out. One confirmed the diagnosis, one didn't.

I asked HSC for a quote on completing the Carrier warranty work. It took four phone calls, sitting on hold, and sketchy conversations with Ross to get him to send me an email quote. When he finally sent a quote, it wasn't for repair but the quote for the new furnace (waaaay overpriced).

Best I can tell these folks are trying to rip off consumers and/or the home warranty companies by double dipping. I took the cash out option from First American and had someone else do the work. It cost me a $30 more (on a $950 gas valve replacement), but they were up front about the costs and timely with responding to questions and inquiries. Finally, I found a reputable Carrier dealer to replace the heat exchanger and Carrier covered a lot of the cost.

At best HSC is a lazy company, at worst they are trying to game the home warranty system. If you are wondering if you can do better....you can.

I had Home Services out to find out why my outside dusk to dawn light wasn't working the guy came and wrap tape around the sensor therefore the solar light worked for 2 nites by Sun nite no light call back same guy returned sat in my driveway 15mins before getting out truck his visit didn't get any results he started checking wiring for a light switch to a garage that I told him was torn down then he started take cover off my circuit breaker box I was so disgusted with his inability to give me a solution to why outside light wasn't working I requested he put my cover back on my breaker box & get gone will never use this company again I was charged $60 for him coming out & about $40 for him wrapping tape around my light the only reason he gets the 2nd star he was able to replace my GFCI outlet which cost me $114 🤣 this company over charges & there Tech are not that good

He was on time and tried to unclog drain, but there is something small, like a bottle cap further down than he can reach. I believe it's actually a penny that was accidentally knocked into the sink by a child. He will need to come back to remove a piece of the drain, so the repair is not complete. I will give a review once the repair is complete.

I just had some plumbing work done by Demetri Lopez; he is extremely professional and knows what he is doing. He made sure the process was stress free and easy! He is sincere and he cares for his clients! I highly recommend this gentlemen to help you with any of your plumbing needs! Went through them with American Homeshield to get service on the ac. It took 4 days to even get an appointment. Then was told that it'll take 2 more weeks until they can come out to do the job because they're too busy. American Homeshield needs to start giving their contract out to another company.

By far the most unprofessional service that I have encountered. It took two phone calls , I was placed on hold for 15 minutes and then told to go back and forth between the plumbers and the insurance agency. The end result - plumber came out and told us what to do and where to buy it from but never fixed the problem himself. I paid $75 for this.

After multiple visits, the original issue MIGHT be resolved. However, I'm now left to deal with a new issue caused by the plumbing company. To make matters worse, the company is seeking payment of $150 for turning off our water. How is this charge justified? It's a quick turn of a handle. The technician, Billy, had a wonderful personality, which would be more beneficial to a better plumbing company.

It happen to be my presure switch went bad he order the part went and got the part and installed it same day. That fix all my issues and I had heat again!!! My central air went out during the hottest weekend of the year. I scheduled a service appointment with Home Service Corporation and they got me in at their next available. Very courteous and professional on the phone while I was explaining my problem. The woman who answered the phone (I wish I knew her name) was very friendly and helpful and even offered a few suggestions to do while waiting for my appointment.

My service tech was Anthony. He is very personable and knowledgeable. Took the time to explain what the problem was and made me feel like my problem was a priority. I couldn’t have asked for a better service tech.

I am highly disappointed with the lack of professionalism with this company. This morning a technician was at my home to diagnose a few plumbing issues. One being shower valves in the major bathroom. The technician, Billy didn't physically touch anything and ask me what was going on. After hearing me out he stated to be perfectly honest I don't have any experience with these older valves and I'm going to request a senior tech from my office to come out and take a look. Billy took a few pictures and then took a look at my next issue. After looking over all my plumbing concerns, he stated he was going out to his van for 15 - 20 minutes to contact my warranty company. Upon returning from his van, he opens my door and proceeds to hand my two small sale slips and begins to talk quickly about the shower valves not being covered. When asked to slow down and to explain why wasn't a senior tech coming out as he suggested, he started ti raise his voice and when asked to lower his voice and to calming explain each of hos diagnosis and costs associated he responds by saying I'm out of here. How immature and unprofessional. He then goes back to his van, with the two slips in hand, then had the audacity to retuurn and open my front door and leave the two slips on the floor of my foyer. When I go to pick up the slips he at my front door, again, with his company's business card. I an absolutely floored. I'll be sharing my experience wuth this company with multiple consumer complaint platforms.

Home Service Corp came to fix a leaky garbage disposal. Kevin Dake was the technician who came out. Kevin was very professional and polite. It did not take him long to know that I needed a new garbage disposal. I ask Kevin about my faucet which was loose and if he could fix it and how much would it cost me. Kevin took a look and said yes I can fix it and it will not cost you anything. Kevin also inform me to never be afraid to ask your technician question about any other problems I may have and if it is an easy fix, normal it will not cost an additional charge. Kevin fix my disposal and faucet in less than 15 minutes. His service was outstanding and he went over and beyond his duty. Thank you Kevin Dake for all you have done for me today. Home warranty service call for leaking water heater. Replacement recommended and their service rep left. Received an email next day detailing $1200 of cost not supported by my warranty. Every item in their proposal was 200-300% over Home Depot prices. $129 for water heater pan with valve. Home Depot about $40. Dielectric connections $69, Home Depot $6 each. Re configure gas line? Why? $169... not needed. Add air circulation? Why? I guess 80 years of enough air isn’t enough?
Reading other reviews this seems like their MO. If you can’t make enough from warrant company why misrepresent additional costs?
Actual cost: water heater $665; install: my time; check from warranty company $668. Buyer beware!

If I wasn't forced to deal with this company by American Home Shield, I would have never called them back. They sent the same inexperienced technician out for 4 separate visits over the span of 2 months and he couldn't identify the root issue. After months in the cold without a boiler he finally asked his more experienced colleague to handle the job.

Fast work and precise. The tech fixed the previous workers wiring job and were cooling down now.

They scheduled ab appointment right away. The technician called to ask if he could come early. During the service call he was very polite and thoroughly explained what he was doing and why. He worked very fast and did a fantastic job.

DTE program called Home Service Corporation and I received excellent service and I purchased a Bryant furnace, the installer worked very dilligently all day to restore my heat ( please look for his name). His helper Dematri was constantly assisting him, excellent helper. Today my water heater needed to be replaced. DTE program called HSC, I chose them again to replace my water heater. Installed in just few days after they were called. Today I had pleasure of Kevin D. as installer who worked dilligently to restore my hot water which I greatly appreciate. Dematri came shortly after to assist with water heater and they both worked very efficiently together to get job done. I am very pleased with the great organization within this company. I will continue to ask DTE to send them to service all my appliances and will purchase what I need from them. Home Service Corp sent a man to come fix my AC unit. The job was a complete mess and he left things unprofessional and unfinished. Demetri Lopez a plumber technician from Home Service Corporation came to my house to fix a broken shower head pipe, he was outside in his truck taking a nap, no joke he really was sleeping outside my house. then he comes in and states this is not covered under American Home Shield and it would cost an additional $250, then he leaves. Home Service Corporation provided the worst service ever, your plumber is either a very unprofessional, inexperienced or just a liar. regardless, i will never recommend this company to anyone.

I asked for a 2nd opinion after waiting another 24 hours, Jason a Plumber Technician with More Than Plumbing LLC. Showed up, replaced the broken pipe within literally 5 minutes and took care of business, with no added cost to us.

Had company out last week to inspect an issue we had with the lights getting dim and bright. Was initially told $60 for service call to diagnose problem. They were prompt to set up an appointment which was great and also showed up on time they seemed to do a thorough inspection considering it took two hours. Said i needed to have company out to look at dryer because it was pulling too much energy and lights dimming was caused by there was just alot of energy being pulled from what was plugged in, gave no real resolution to issue. Charged $120 instead of $60 because it took longer. Proceeded to say that he needed to wait for truck to be repaired before he could schedule fix, didn't call in next couple of days. Ended up getting second opinion and was told the issue was with DTE who came out and replaced the main due to a bad ground and all the dimming and brighting was corrected. Also the dryer went back to working np. It seems this is an ok company however appears that electric technicians may need more experience in diagnosing issue. Could've saved myself on the service call if they knew it could be dte also couldve cost more to have a dryer technicians out had i listened to them.....update no one called to advise but I did get a $60 refund which made me feel a bit better.

I was directed to this company via a home warranty service. My request was submitted on a Friday evening, appt was set up on Saturday for Tuesday between 12 and 4. At this time I explained I had several young children and that the weather was going to be pretty warm and if there was any way they could come out sooner, at this time I was told no and that I had to wait until Tuesday since the home warranty company didn't submit this as an urgent request. After speaking with my home warranty company they stated they couldn't do anything either so I braced myself for the warm weather with no AC and dealt with a cranky toddler, 7 month old and 5 year old. Tuesday finally came, I left work early to wait only to be called at 3pm stating the service technician was running an hour behind schedule. FINALLY at 6:30 he arrived 2 and a half hours AFTER he was due to come. It was a quick fix maybe 20 minutes max. The only reason I am giving them 2 stars is because the technician was pleasant and helpful when he finally did arrive. Looking on their website they offer fast same day service this is not at all what I experienced!!! The total opposite in fact! They did not take into consideration my family situation and I'm not sure if it's because I was a third party client, but that shouldn't matter because they are still getting paid for their service! Never again!!!

This company has been dispatched to our home twice to fix the same issue. We were scheduled with them through our home warranty company. We were experiencing leaking in our laundry area and a gas pilot on our water heater that would not stay lit. The pilot was fixed, but the leak was a big issue. They incorrectly diagnosed the issue the first time. The second time they came back because the leak was still occurring. On their second visit, the technician left the situation worse than he found it. Do not recommend!

I needed 3 repairs done but unfortunately 2 were a lot more complicated than I could have imagined and needed futher approval but my repair man was very knowledgeable, kind and professional. He explained everything. I hope when it's approved he will return to do the job!

He was really nice and told the person needed the parts now because I had no Hot Water. Being a senior I really appreciated this. He was able to get the parts and come back the next day. Installed the new parts that a previous person couldn't get nor even tried. The whole experience was wonderful. Thank you so much Brian.

The team member that came in was in a rush for his next appointment did not complete the job at hand was discourteous and left. This company was assigned to me by American Home Shield to repair a steam boiler. It’s taken over a month and multiple orders of parts that never fix the issue. The repair folks are incompetent and the company is a total waste of time and money. I would give zero stars if I could.

I have some very old wiring in my 80 year old house that was blended with some very poor quality contractor wiring blended together that caused my lights to stay on. American Home Shield uses this company for everything, including furnaces! Took about 5 trips to fix my pool which I'm not convinced they actually fixed. Then they show up for my furnace problem, complain the job will suck and will take a few guys to work on. They then turned in a report to the warranty company stating it was a humidifier issue, not heater so it isn't covered. (They didn't want handle the job). Yes - it is below zero and I have no heat with a very sick person and senior living in my home. Had to hire my own contractor to fix it and now need to take Am Home to court to recoup my losses!

I have used Home Services for multiple repairs and have been delighted with the quality of their work and their ability to accommodate my schedule. I absolutely appreciate that I can call and actually talk to a person who can answer questions without my being put on hold and without being told to leave a recorded message. My first interaction with Home Services was three years ago shortly after moved into my current home. My furnace was leaking water. What? It is a complicated as hell, powered exhaust, gas furnace with heat pump. BEFORE finding Home Services, I had contacted one OTHER service provider about my furnace leaking water. The first thing the OTHER company's technician asked was would I agree to allow him to disable the heat pump. He performed a repair, but weeks later, my furnace began to leak again. Rather than aggravating myself by having the OTHER company come back again, I contacted Home Services and they sent Gary to diagnose the problem. He carefully described to me what he believed the problem was before disassembling the furnace. As he was working he patiently described each step. When I asked how long he had been doing this, he answered 27 years. Yes, that is exactly the type of person I want working on my furnace! His initial diagnosis was exactly right. Furnace has been working without a problem ever since.

Yesterday, I had scheduled two separate visits by Home Services, one for a leaking bath tub faucet, one for a electrical circuit part of which had gone dead.

The plumber, Mike, had recently completed two other plumbing repair projects in my home. I was so impressed with him that I had requested him specifically for my new repair. As before, he answered all my questions, was careful not to scratch the brushed nickel finish of my bathtub faucet and made sure that I was satisfied with everything before he left. Great work!

The electrician Tom and his apprentice, Gerard were here to find what had happened to one of the electrical circuits in my home that had gone dead. Tom was a great diagnostician. He asked what fixtures and outlets were not working and then began tracing through the complex maze of wiring on the dead circuit. (I wish I could post a photograph to show what he was dealing with). He was able to locate the problem and then revise the wiring to avoid any future problem. Tom must be part rocket scientist. As he assisted Tom, Gerard was able to describe to me the steps Tom was taking and assure me that even though the wiring was very complicated that they would be able to correct the problem. Amazing! All back to normal. Thank you!

Home service was great in quickly showing up when I made a van after I woke up without a working furnace. Murad quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem and answered some questions I had regarding my furnace.

This is not a good service if you are in a rush. I had two separate leaks and they couldn’t get to me within a week. So I had to hire my own separate service as my belongings were getting destroyed. Also, I am going on my 4th week and 4th visit from them to fix my AC.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING. BBB F grade. Assigned by American Home Shield, which is often a sign of an awful contractor. Seemed good initially. Then, after causing a leak that required cleanup, said they couldn't do the rest of the job that day because the cleanup used up the time. Then installed the wrong part, and tried to convince me that the wrong part (which lacked a drain to clear an outside not frost-free spigot) was fine. Once they finally agreed to replace the wrong part, they gave me TEN MINUTES to return their unscheduled call--on a religious holiday when I had my phone off--or they'd close out the ticket. So they closed out the ticket. This has been dragging on through four visits to my house (during two of which they decided they weren't going to replace the wrong part after saying they would) over multiple months. They will waste your time and drive you crazy.

ZERO stars - this place is a scam. Beware! Our water heater was installed by them less than 24 months ago, and there is corrosion around one of the pipes (proof that the work was not performed well at all), and has caused leaks, corrosion, and should be covered under their no hassle warranty. Unfortunately for us, they actually don't guarantee their work, and after 5 phone calls, have continued to say that the warranty is with our warranty company. WE DON'THAVE A HOME WARRANTY!!!. We paid in cash for our services and not only did they not install correctly, but they actually don't guarantee their terrible work anyway. Reporting to the BBB.

Company said they will be out between 8 a.m. to 12pm. I was hoping they would show up early and they did!! The electrician, Mike Flores, showed up and was able to determine problem quickly. It was an easy fix for him as he was able to repair the light switches. He was professional and courtesy. He explained other services, warranties and was pleasant guy. They advised they couldn't get anyone out today, but would get someone out the following morning, The next morning I waited and waited and finally called and the manager advised they don't service my area and no one would be coming out! Shane cane to my condo today to see what was wrong with my furnace. He assessed the situation and found the circuit board was not working. He said the part would have to be ordered and they would call when it came in. I was a bit upset with having to wait but nothing I could do. Shane left and within 15 minutes called me saying he found one and would come back within a hour. 20 minutes later he was here, installed the board, checked the furnace and I smelled the heat... I am 100% pleased and satisfied with the professional and friendly service I received from Demetri Lopez and his apprentice. Before they even started the job, I was happy with how early they arrived to do the job. Unfortunately, I have gotten used to repairmen showing up in the last 15 minutes of the 4 hour service window, but they were able to come near the start of the time range. They both followed Covid-19 guidelines upon entry to my home. I was so pleased with the work they did at my home and how quickly they completed the work that I will always request Home Service and Demetri Lopez when I need plumbing work done and when I am asked if I know of a good plumber. Was assigned this company from my dte energy warranty on my hot water tank. When the technician came out he said my hot water tank was unrepairable. Luckily I have the replacement plan as well thru dte I was told I would be responsible for bringing the install up to code I was told it would be $332 for a list of items that I have no idea are required to bring it up to code or not but I was going on day 4 of no hot water so I paid it. When they ran my debit card they charged me twice and overdrafted my checking account for which I had to pay my overdraft fees. When I called there immediately the girl just laughed and said she must of ran it twice. I didn't think it was funny at all as I was left with no money in my checking account. They did issue me a credit which takes a few days to post and I am stuck with the overdraft fee from my bank.

Had a 10 to 4 appointment set up with them. Received a call around 3:30 from the office, saying they were an hour behind. I was upset because the tech told the office at noon they were behind, but no one called me. I was told by Michelle and Carol that I should have called to see when they were coming out. I left a voicemail for a boss last Friday when all this happened, never got a reply from him. Michelle said they weren't going to reschedule us because I prepaid. She also called me negative and condescending, because I complained that I wasted my day waiting on them. The two techs were more apologetic, than the office staff.

Scheduled an install for a wireless thermostat, no one asked how many wires I had 4 or 5 from my existing thermostat. So waited all day for appointment technician arrives late. Cannot install, need to come back, will call later today. No call until a week later, will send technician out to fix thermostat at 12 PM. At 3 PM tech shows up and sits in our driveway talking on the phone until 4 PM; note we are waiting to leave. He then proceeds to tell me he needs to work on my furnace to replace the thermostat? Why was I not informed of this, I have remodeling being done in the basement! But no, why would they consider to ask for access to the furnace area?

While tech was sitting outside talking on phone we needed to leave and tried to get his attention but he just straight up ignored us.

This corporation clearly demonstrates a lack of communication and comprehension of customer service and how to treat other people in general.

Terrible experience with Home Service Corporation. I have a HSA Home warranty and they sent them out due to my furnace being out. I had to wait till the next day. In that time my furnace came back on, the service person got there and said he did not see a issue with it and he said he tuned it up. Two hours later my furnace is out. Next day call back and they tell me they can not get a person back out that day so I told them I was going to call a local person because I need heat. They say don't do that we will have a person out. He comes back and tells me I have a broken heat exchanger and I need a new furnace. So on Monday when he was over he did not obviously check over the furnace or he would have found out I had a broken heat exchanger. So in reality, this service person put my family and I in jeopardy and could have exposed us to carbon monoxide. So after this issue he tells me we have to wait on a furnace from the warrnety place and I am like I can not do any longe for heat, I have one year old son and its been 3 days already. He says well you can upgrade and get a furnace we have in stock. I said sure, he says let me go to my truck and get you numbers. I wait 20 minutes and look out the window and he is gone. I do not get numbers for 24 hours, and when I do the numbers are outgageous,2,000 more than the local HVAC company. They tried telling me i had to upgrade all kinds of things to get to code and the company i hired said that was false. I ended up paying out of pocket to get make sure my son had heat and I had my new set up installed before I even got numbers back from Home service. When the new contractor came over he said as soon as he walked down my stairs he smelt I had a broke heat exchanger, so I don't understand how HOME Service could not detect that. Sorry for the long post and rant. I would not recommend them to anybody.

James the tech seemed like a nice and knowledgeable guy. After completing a tune up and light clean to my AC unit he said he would email me a quote for a air duct install and a new turbine vent for my roof. I contacted some lady in the office about a week ago and she said she would have him contact me. Almost two weeks later and no response. As far as I'm concerned they didn't finish the job. I'm very frustrated as this was a company that was referred to me by a neighbor.

Do your research and get multiple competitive quotes, even if they are chosen by your warranty companies. Even with the warranty, I was going to be charge over $2000 out of pocket. I was able to use a local HVAC company and by accepting the cash out from the warranty company, only had to pay $600 out of pocket.

The tech was friendly, personable, knowledgeable, efficient, all the good things. He fixed our system, we are up and running in a matter of minutes. Highly recommend!

While we were talking he'd mentioned a customer earlier in the day who had a particularly nasty problem, and mentioned that we'd had a free furnace inspection a few weeks ago from another company that said we had that problem too.

Mr. Awad thought for about three seconds before telling me that I was fine, and was able to shove me through tests that his information was accurate.

He saved us from considering replacing our furnace before we needed to, and that alone will ensure I call again when I need help.

Jamie came today for my summer air conditioner check up. I was extremely pleased with his professionalism. Jamie met and exceeded my expectations. It is because of craftsmen like him I have stayed with Home service for over twenty years

I have used HSC before to repair gas lines and they were amazing. This time I had a sump pump replaced and water in my basement which caused a significant amount of anxiety. Brian came and went above and beyond, identifying the source of my issue and resolving it with a high level of expertise. He walked me through everything and assured me the issue would be taken care of by him. It definitely was! I’m so grateful. HSC always gives me peace of mind and I’m so grateful for that. I called American Home Shield home warranty to have my A/C repaired. They gave me Home Service Corp as the company to perform the repairs. I waited over 24 hrs for a call never received a call. I called Home Service Corp myself and though I was going to get good service when I was told they would have a tech out that afternoon. When the tech arrived I informed him the problem I was having and he(the tech) insisted he knew what the problem was. I had to leave for an appointment and asked him to perform the repair the correct way without any short cuts as it was a covered item on my contract.
About 20 minuted later I received a call from my mother in law stating the guy has left and said it was repaired. I asked her if he left any paperwork on the repair and was told he didnt leave anything nor did she sign anything.
Later that evening when I arrived home I went to the basement to see if there were leaks and noticed a drill hole in the drain line at the 90and loose screws on top of the unit.
The next day i called and spoke to the receptionist informed her on what happened and was told that was the correct repair. I asked her to shouw me where it states to drill a hole in a closed line and leave it open. I requested to speak to a manager and was told he would contact me the next day. I did not receive a call in till I called and complained and disputed the service call with my warrenty company. Again i spoke to the lady from before and requested a call from the manager in charge. She asked me if I would like to have the tech return to look at my concerns and I told her NO I did not want him back I wanted a call from the manager.
This all happened at the end of June and I still have not received a call from the manager. I put a call into American Home Shield and they are going to have the file over to the dispute department as there was no prior authorization to even peform the repair that he did.

Well, I thought what your technician told us seemed a little fishy, so I consulted 5 other local contractors with good reputations and it turns out my gut was correct. Each one came out to give me their own estimate. Your company attempted to charge me 5 times the amount that every other company was offering, which seems more than a little shady. It also turns out you were trying to force an unneeded service on me, which you conveniently offer as well.

Be careful with this company people. My home warranty would not allow me to use another vendor, so I paid for everything out of pocket and it still cost me $1,000 less than it would have cost me to use Home Service Corp WITH my warranty coverage.

Mike is very effective doing his job. He fixed the issue in less than 30 minutes with a very good attitude and professionalism. House with a reduced crawling space.

Service Tec was on time, communicated everything, and did an excellent job diagnosing and repairing my clients electrical problem. Very pleased!

Home Service Corporation did a great job when they sent Anthony the HVAC tech out to service my home! Anthony did a MARVELOUS job servicing my home! He most definitely know his job very well! I would recommend him to EVERYONE! He is very thorough. Not only did he fix the problem quickly, he took the time to show us what caused the problem and what the resolution was! I just want to take the time to thank Anthony for a Job well done!

We had no hot water about a week ago. The technition ( Kevin ) came out and replaced a part and we were back in business, for a few days. The unit failed several days later and Kevin came back out. He turned it back on and it fired right up, making me feel like a dope, but it went off after about a minute. Kevin discussed the problem with a technical support technition after several attempts to fix the problem failed. They both agreed what part was the problem, and Kevin found one in Canton after making several phone calls. He drove to Canton, replaced the part...and still no fix. All on a Friday afternoon / evening. Again he called another tech and found another likely cause. He was able to get another temporary fix with a promise he would locate the part the next morning. Kevin found the part early Saturday morning and returned to install it, finally resolving the issue. He never gave up and never lost his cool. His determination ( with help from manufacturer reps) got the job done, after spending hours on the problem. I wonder how many othere companies would provide such service.

I was really satisfied with this service because Tom and Jared checked every corner patiently and they were like friends visiting home.
They were keen on finding the source of the problem rather then just fixing it up.

Had to call several times to find out when someone was coming and the time. Told me that they had tried to call prior to setting up appt, which wasn’t true and delayed the resolution of my problem another day.
The plumber was friend and was able to resolve my problem with an upgrade. Very happy with the end results.

I have used this company twice - both times sent out and recommended through my home protection plan with DTE. Brian and Nick came out this last time. They diagnosed the problem right away. It actually wasn't a plumbing problem but a dishwasher problem. They took the time to show me the problem and malfunctioning part, as well as the correct information to give to the appliance service. Both were very pleasant. I would use them again in the future without hesitation.

Technician needed a part, from previous experience with other companies, I assumed we would be with out heat for another day. Much to my delight, the service technician returned and in short time frame we were toasty warm. My AC unit stopped functioning on a Friday, and Home Service Corporation was assigned to service it by my home warranty company. I called the company to schedule service and they said that someone would be out on Monday between 8am and 4pm. I thought with that window my day was going to be wasted waiting for the service technician to show up, but at 8am on Monday, I got a call telling me he was a half hour away! He showed up on time, and quickly diagnosed that a fuse had blown. He quickly replaced the fuse and my AC was back up and running. Total repair time was about 15 minutes. Great job!

This company wanted to charge me 900$ just for coming and look at ny ac did not even touch the ac did nothing.

Today Jamie efficiently and professionally repaired my furnace. He arrived within the time parameters I was given, he researched and found the closest venue which had the replacement part. Returned with the part, installed it and had my house warming up within minutes .. I couldn’t be more satisfied with today’s service !

Worst service . No return calls. Contacted service manager 4 times in 3 weeks and no reply back.

DO NOT USE, STAY AWAY!!!! I Had them come out through DTE because furnace was not working. Came out, said thermo coupler was broke and fixed it BUT IT WENT OUT A HOUR LATER. DTE sent them out again, then he says our furnace is broke, he can't fix. Kept smelling gas after he left, HE DIDNT EVEN TIGHTEN TO GAS LINE BACK!!! PLUS HE TOOK PARTS OFF AND THREW THEM AT THE OTHER END OF THE ATTIC!!! This company is a two faced JOKE of a business.PLEASE, I URGE YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE. today they have sent a technician who assess the problem and because of their contract with American Shield insurance, they are instructed to put a bandage to avoid replacing. My water heater was leaking and the pipe that coming out of the heater is rusted, still the technician reported that the heater still works and no needs of replacement.
