Becht/Givens Service Experts

Our ac unit was not working properly, house was 80 degrees when thermostat was set at 72. The technician who came to check the problem, Ray Thomas, was thorough in his assessment. He found the problem was that one of the wires had not been corrected properly when the unit was installed. He contacted his supervisor, Dave Matthews, who helped guide him through the issue until everything was connected appropriately and our unit was functioning at full capacity.
We could not be happier with Ray. He was very professional, competent, and took time to educate/explain the issue. He is a credit to your organization!

Eric and Gabe are some of the best technicians I’ve ever hired. They came over to inspect my HVAC and discovered a huge problem. Gabe and Eric clearly explained the issue, walked me through potential solutions, and reminded me of the importance of replacing the filter in the HVAC on a monthly basis. They had amazing restaurant recommendations too! The service call was only $82 so it was very reasonably priced. I highly recommend working with Becht Givens Service Experts. Thank you so much!

I used Becht-Givens for a rental home/routine furnace check/maintenance. They were polite, arrived on time, and so far so good with the continued performance of the furnace. The only hiccup was they did not have the needed humidifier pad on their truck, so we had to schedule time for a second visit to get that installed. But I can recommend them.

Was having problem with cooling on 10/1/2019 when it was in the middle 90's
Mike got here earlier than my scheduled appointment and got right to work on air conditioning unit.
Found the problem and had required repair parts on board his truck
Fixed everything quickly and cleaned unit too.
I would recommend Mike to anyone else and would request him again myself

Kyle S. hooked up our new kitchen faucet and installed our disposal for the undermount sink we recently purchased. He was very courteous, professional, and got the job done quickly. He noticed that the sink flange that came with our disposal was polished chrome and the flange that came with the sink itself was brushed stainless…he offered up one of his own stainless flanges so that the two would match - we so appreciate that attention to detail and consideration. I can’t think of any other plumbers who would take care of a small, but still important, detail for homeowners. Would 100% recommend Kyle and Becht/Givens to anyone! Will contact them again for any plumbing needs in the future.

Jerome Farnsley was my service technician for my fall furnace check. Jerome was very complete and thorough during the inspection. He answered all of my questions with very good clear, understandable answers.

Our service technician, Ray made it out to our home in less than an hour of contacting the company. He was very thorough and professional with the maintenance and also took the time to explain our geothermal system better than anyone else has. He made sure everything was working and we were satisfied before he left. We are very happy with our service.

Tim and Eric arrived at the time they said they would be here. They were professional and were careful not to track anything into the house from the outside. Tim thoroughly explained the condition of my system and the job he performed on it.

Service was non existent. Dispatcher was asked if they needed model and serial number of equipment. Answer was no. Technician brought no tools into house. Looked at furnace and stated That's a 30 year old furnace, that it took special tools and he didn't have them. I described symptoms and asked what he thought. How would I know was response. On site approximately 15 minutes. Produced invoice for $99 and left. Loss of $99 with no results. Do not recommend for service. Just send them a check and call someone else. Kyle from Becht/Givens replaced a gas water heater for us. He was friendly, professional, and willing to answer any questions we had about our new water heater. I highly recommend him and Becht/ Givens.

Our hvac went out and was over 15 years old, we called and they had a rep. out to our home the same day. Many options to choose from for financial help. The installation was done in 2 days Tim was very thorough explained everything he was doing and why, completely satisfied with the installation and heating unit is working very well. I look forward to saving some money on the system as it is much more efficient than the old one we just replaced.

Christopher was good at explaining the results of his inspection and was willing to help get my thermostat connected to my phone via the App.

We can’t say enough good things about this company and Mike Duffy. Our HVAC system went down after being struck by lightening and the repairs were lengthy and had to be done as we got approval from insurance. Mike worked with us, coming to our house multiple times to ensure everything was done properly and as quickly as possible. He also made sure we had all the documents needed for our insurance company. We couldn’t have asked for a better person to take care of our family. We would highly recommend for anyone looking for reliable, honest, quality work.

My experiences with Becht Givens have always been positive. Every technician who has come out, either for routine maintenance (we have an annual service contract with them) or to fix an issue with our AC, has been friendly, knowledgeable and offers the best recommendations. On one of the hottest days of the year, our AC stopped working. As always, Danielle was great at getting someone to our house as early as possible, and the technician who came to fix it, Ray, was great! He was able to fix it without me incurring a massive expense, gave me tips on what I should watch out for and educated me on the problem and the operation of my unit. Thanks, Ray!

Very unfriendly visit , The guy that came complained about everything , said that this was dirty and he would never work on it .. when asked questions all he can say was my furnace is old needs a new one .Then said but it should run better now that he worked on because it was in such bad shape .. just over all un professional!

He shared a mowing tip to cut off the AC so the clippings don't get in the unit. Kyle came out from Becht Givens surveyed my 1890 Victorian plumbing situation, which covers 3 floors and 3 water tanks. He surveyed all of the tanks (two of them 20 yrs old) and gave solid advice on maintaining, preventative measures and next steps when they undoubtedly go out. He studied all of the piping and offered a solid consult on preventative which means a lot. I'll definitely reach out to Kyle when I have a plumbing issue as I know that he's informative, clear and transparent on what needs to be done.

I just started my HVAC maintenance with Becht/Givens six months ago and would recommend them. Charlie came and checked my furnace and was very informative. After telling me I had a crack he told me my options. At 5:30pm that evening Mike Hayden came and game me information on those options. The two guys that came to put in the furnace were very nice and helpful. Darren Anthony #149 came today to install the air conditioner and finished the job. He was very nice and explained things to me. They all did a great job!

Tried calling for emergency furnace service on a Sunday night. Got hooked up to someone in India I think telling me to get off my speaker phone. I asked if I was talking to someone in America local who could help me and he responded that he could not give out that information, lol. Not a good first sign, so I said that I will try elsewhere. Recently had plumbing issue with main sewer line. The repairman that came was very professional and knowledgeable. He thoroughly explained why the problem existed and the repair needed. Highly recommend Anthony Owen for any plumbing issue.

Kyle came out to fix a leak in our wall and walked us through the issue in an approachable way - there was never any pressure during the consultation and he was beyond knowledgeable! Without his expertise we would have never known it was a crack in the shower pipe that was the issue after getting quotes from other companies saying VERY different things! Appreciate how fast and professional he was and would definitely recommend him.

Had a major plumbing issue (or so I thought,l. Sean came out the same day and thoroughly looked at my plumbing. He recommended me to septic. Having my septic tank pumped didn't help so I did call them again. Again, same day appointment and both Sean and Kevin (I think was his name) worked around my schedule. They were both correct that it really was a septic issue and they only charged me half price because they did not fix the problem. Honest guys, which I appreciate! They also wore those shoe covers and cleaned up after their work. I definitely recommend them plumbing wise!

I called Becht/Givens and the customer service rep, Danielle was helpful answering my questions about plumbing, heating and cooling services offered and membership opportunities. I then scheduled a HVAC maintenance inspection and Jake was the technician. He showed me what components he suggested repairing, and also went over the checklist inspection. Had Andrei from this company come out and do an inspection/tune up of our very old furnace. He was straightforward and no BS about what was eventually going to happen to the old unit which we knew already but we appreciated his tips for keeping it alive until we can afford to replace it. $79 for peace of mind? I'll take that any day.

We purchased a new home in 2017. During the inspection process, we were concerned about the age of the furnace and air conditioner. We brought out Becht to assist with the inspection and they noted that both had significant defects that would necessitate replacement within the year. They drafted a letter for us detailing the extensive wear which we forwarded to the seller. The seller compensated us and we used Becht for the replacement of both appliances. Overall, they went above and beyond and provided exceptional customer service. Most importantly, the price quoted during the inspection was honored at the time of the sale. I can appreciate a company that is trustworthy and will maintain my yearly contract with them as a result.

Becht / Givens has been our HVAC service team for 20+ years. We are always impressed with the quality of their technicians. They arrive on time, they are friendly, knowledgeable, and answer our questions. Chip (Charlie) has been our technician recently and he's great. But then we have yet to have anything but good service and service people.

Andrei is the Man! You have HVAC companies that come out for yearly tune-ups and some do alright jobs and some just shine a flashlight at the furnace and say all is good. I've had many over the years and I must say that Andrei with Becht /Givens did the best, most thorough tune-up to date. He had all the tools needed to complete the job professionally. When your tech shows up with a 75 lb bag of tools, you know your getting the best service!

He was also very patient with explaining everything in detail. If the service I received today is any indication of what to expect for future work, then I got nothing to worry about. I found my new Heating and Cooling company. I also feel so much better about our furnace and can rest assured my family will be safe and comfortable through the winter.

I had my air conditioner maintenance check up today. My tech, Jorge, worked really hard to find the problem with my system when he discovered it wasn't working correctly. He called in Mike for a consultation and together they discovered the problem. Jorge got the needed parts and now my air conditioner is ready for warmer weather. A few years ago we were told we needed new coils and that it would cost about as much as a new system and even though the system was operational, we should quickly get it fixed. A high pressure salesman came to sell us a new system. It cost over $9000.00 for a medium -valued system!! Since then, I have never heard of anyone paying over $6500. It is extra noisy but otherwise does work well and our electric bill has decreased. I also found that the original owner, Mr Becht, had sold the business. I trusted him.

On June 23 , 2016 we had Becht/Givens Service Experts come out and install a new Air Conditioning system in my mobile home and the service was excellent . Brittany Vaughn #513 and Darren S. Anthony #149 were here 10 minutes before their scheduled appointment time . The job was completed , they had everything cleaned up and were driving away after only 3 1/2 hrs. I don't know what else to say about Brittany and Darren except to reiterate they were friendly , very clean , thorough and I was totally impressed . One hour after they left and my house is already cooling down .

This was way above what we paid for. Loving the iComfort app that can control thermostat from my smartphone. We had our first yearly inspection in the new home and apparently the furnace was not taken care of by the previous owners and I was remiss in changing the filter on a timely basis. Glenn Mitchell was the technician and was very thorough, and as we have a expensive repair he explained the general workings of the furnace and what was needed and why. As we are older, his time and patience was greatly appreciated. Of course, no one wants to hear this but he made sure we understood, he ordered the part and assured us we would get a call as soon as the part was received to schedule an appt. to replace it. We have used their service for many years and have been pleased and so we will continue to do so.

Called Becht/Givens, technician Josh Wolf came out & provided me with outstanding service. I would recommend Becht/Givens!

Called Becht/Givens after receiving an extremely high estimate from BJ Heating & Cooling to fix a TXV on my Bryant Heat Pump. I had been with BJ for 18 years ever since I moved into my house. I stayed with them as I thought I needed to use them to maintain the warranty on my heat pump. Called Becht/Givens to get a second opinion as I couldn’t justify the amount I was quoted from BJ.

The technician, Jeffrey, arrived at my house during the scheduled time. He was very thorough in the diagnostic check he performed. He ultimately came to the same conclusion that BJ did as well, the TXV needed replaced.

This is where the service took the extra step and he secured my business. He took the time, unprompted, to see if the TXV was covered under warranty. Keep in mind, I assumed that I needed to stay through BJ to receive the warranty. When he confirmed that the part was still under warranty, it saved me additional money over what the normal price through Becht/Givens would typically be. Not only was the price that he quoted (without warranty) cheaper than BJ, the warranty savings allowed me to save even more.

It’s not always easy change companies after 18 years, but the thoughtfulness and calm demeanor of Jeffrey as he explained everything solidified the deal for me.

I can't tell you how impressed I am with this company. I used them because they had good reviews and I have to admit, they still exceeded expectations. My AC unit is only 7 years old and over the last few summers, it really struggled to keep up with the heat despite getting it serviced with another company. I called Becht/Givens and they had my unit running smoother, quieter/colder and it has been SO nice to have a cool house in these hot summer months.

These people are complete scam artists. They charged $99 for a service call. They came over after my furnace stopped working and told me I needed to replace pressure switch. I got a second opinion and they said that was absolutely false; the only problem was a small clog that the other company removed for free. Over a week later, my furnace is working fine. Clearly, Becht/Givens was trying to scam me. Needless to say, I would not recommend them.

Buddy my technician was thorough about maintaining my air conditioner and furnace. He was very clear in explaining the condition of my system and what was needed for preventive maintenance.

Our technician was the same twice. He was as close to 'textbook technician' as someone could get. He was very clear, helpful, meticulous to diagnose the true issue, and honest with us. We weren't given the best news on the condition of our unit, but we were never pushed into buying a unit from them. It was all very matter-of-fact, not sales pushed. But because of that, we will definitely be buying our unit from them when it officially comes that time.

Kyle Sherrod and his associate came out to give us an estimate on installation of a garbage disposal. From the get go, he was very personable and informative. He answered all my questions about the disposal and gave his own professional advice. He also answered unrelated questions about my water pressure which I greatly appreciated. Would definitely highly recommend.

When I first had Mike come out he wasn't able to work on my unit because it was frozen over. He made sure I was put back on the schedule for the next day. When he came back he went above and beyond to make sure my unit was running properly and took the extra time to verify using several means of determination. Mike is the reason I am now a subscribing member of the service plan offered by the company.

We had a gas leak in our home, and was told by LG&E we needed a plumber, to come out and fix the issue before turning our gas back on. My husband and I moved into our first home last year, and had Becht/Givens come out for a water heater issue. We had a good first experience, so we called them again for this service. We wanted to make an appointment for them to come out, and the only appointment was for 6pm the next day. We all left the house, gathered necessities and stayed somewhere. Until we could come back to a warm house. We received a call around 3pm from a technician by the name of Brayton, asking if he could be there around 4:30 to 5pm. We said that was fine and I started heading to the house. Brayton and another technician end up showing at almost 6pm anyway. So I left for the house earlier than needed and waited longer than needed. They came in started doing their thing. Mentioned at one point, one of the pipes they couldn’t test was in our master bedroom closet, and might have to tear down our drywall! That was not something I expected to hear, neither wanted. Brayton said he tightened a 90 elbow in the attic. They finished their pressure test and said that they weren’t seeing a leak. When it came to paying he brought up a membership and that it would save us money, I agreed to that as it was going to be about $100 cheaper for the service. Remember this that was all that was mentioned before paying. Once they leave I receive a receipt via email. It listed the membership, a late hour fee of $40 and the service itself. We were never disclosed any information about a late hour fee, from making the appointment to paying for it. I called Customer Service and the technician stating that the late hour fee should have not been applied, as it was not disclosed to us at any point! This was said to be sent to billing and I have yet heard back. LG&E came back that night did their pressure test and it was an automatic fail. Called Brayton our technician back and told him our gas was still off. He said he’d call us back to see what needed to be done. He then came back with we’d have to repipe the whole house, including tearing down the drywall in our closet. We were devastated by this. He said he could probably come out to do measurements close to 5pm the next day. He said he would give us a call during the next day. We never received a call during the day and I was waiting at the house again. We received an email with an appointment confirmation for service on January 6th. We did not set this appointment up and that was insane for them to say they couldn’t start doing work until then. I called Customer Service stating I wanted to cancel our appointment with Brayton, and the January appointment that was made for us! Customer service said they’d do so and send out messages to all the managers, so they could contact us. While on the call with them Brayton leaves a voicemail stating he wasn’t going to make it, and put us on the books for the next day instead. I called back and told him we already canceled our service and that he should have handled, the situation better. He then goes on to say we don’t really have the manpower to get a lot done. We called another company to come help us, they tightened a notch on one of the pipes connected to the furnace, checked the valves, did their tests. Never went into the attic, mentioned the pipes in our closet or said that our issue was a full repipe. Their price was less than half the amount I was charged with Becht/Givens. LG&E came back out and their test passed! The gas was tuned on. As a result of Becht Givens lack there of service my family was out of the house two extra nights than needed and with a bill that needs to be refunded. By law disclosed on the receipt We had the right to cancel the transaction at anytime prior to midnight of the third business day after the date of transaction. I called Customer Service stating that and why. I was told those notes were being sent to all managers. It’s been almost a week and no one has contacted me. I won’t stop calling until resolved.

I needed a 150 foot long sewer line replaced. After calling around to many other plumbers and getting no response or being told they didn't do that kind of excavating work, Becht/Givens Service Experts called me back quickly. Anthony arrived to assess the damage and extent of the job. He showed me everything through the camera and explained what replacing the line would consist of. We got the job on the calendar. Anthony and the team worked all day long in the extreme heat to replace the line. They worked until dark and returned the next morning for cleanup.

Every member of the staff was friendly and helpful, including the customer service/dispatch staff. No one talked down to me, made me feel as if I was an inconvenience, or left me without answers. Anthony explained everything very clearly so I knew what to expect. Although needing the entire line replaced was a bad situation, Service Experts made it much less stressful. I would recommend this company for small or large scale jobs! It is rare to find such a high level of customer service in every department/level of a company!

Becht Givens is top shelf HVAC! From the management to the office staff, all are professionals. Senior tech Ron Taylor and service manager James Boyd have 50 years experience between them. I recommend Becht Givens and it's a great place to work!

I used their online scheduling form last night and got a email saying they would be in touch within a hour to confirm my appointment via email or give me a call to choose a new time. I waited 4 hours and never heard anything and went to bed with my AC not working. It is now 5 hours into the new business day and not one call or email yet. I am taking my business to somewhere else that values their customers schedule and makes actual contact. I thought this would be a good experience based on all the reviews for the company but I cannot deal with playing the waiting game for someone to contact me.

I called them on a Sunday because I was having trouble with my ac for my home. Since it’s gotten hotter it’s not keeping up. They made an appointment for Monday and the tech came out and looked at my external a/c only and said because there was oil in the bottom of it that it would need to be replaced. He didn’t open the panel or hook anything up to the unit and said it’s his experience when there is oil where it was that the unit needs to be replaced. He spent maybe 10 minutes looking at it and it cost me $100. I didn’t believe my unit that was only 7 years old needed to be replaced so I called another company and they came out and showed me how dirty it was so they cleaned it, leveled it out and tested it and it was fine. It ended up costing me another $200 to have it cleaned and serviced but much better then the 10 minute diagnosis these guys gave me.

Dan installed a new Honeywell Programmable Thermostat at my home today. He arrived early ready to complete the job. After finishing with the installation, he walked me through all of the settings and options. He tested the system making sure everything worked as commanded.

Dan also noticed that my furnace made a loud boom when the blower started up and shortly after shutting down. He made several adjustments to the furnace cabinet as well as the air intake greatly reducing the noise.

It was time for our semi annual system maintenance. We have been a customer of Becht for over 30 years. Last year we bought a new HVAC system. Today our technician was Tim B.
Tim was the most thorough technician we have ever had work on the equipment. He was as importantly a true customer service professional answering all my questions and explaining things I didn’t think to ask.
He didn’t rush, but was always busy.

Just had the furnace blower motor replaced on my 5 year old Lennox HVAC system by Mike of Becht and Givens Service Department. Mike was in the house trouble shooting within 24 hours of making the service call. Which was made on Sunday afternoon. It's employees like Mike, who was courteous and professional, that make companies like B/G as great as they are. The service department is absolutely spot on. Mike had the AC up and running in a couple of hours. Now the wife is very happy which makes my life very happy. Many Thanks to Mike and Becht / Givens.

Ryan came by today to check on my recently installed Mitsubishi Mini-Split- installed by BechtGivens technicians Buddy and Jeff. Everything is working perfectly. My house is finally cooler and my electric usage has been cut in half! I am very satisfied with the customer service and the technicians who take care of their customers. Would recommend this company to any new home owner like myself!

Kyle and Shawn came out to repair a water heater leak. After a brief look they spotted the problem. Got it fixed in no time. Spotted an additional problem they fixed in two minutes. Even spotted a gas leak I had on the outside of my house. They were very professional, efficient and friendly. Will use again when future needs require.

Jerome Farnsley was the technician who provided the semi-annual inspection of our furnace. He seemed very knowledgeable about the service he provided and answered our questions to our satisfaction.

I bought at the beginning of the year a heating unit from them and they did a very good job installing it. I set up a seasonal tune up appointment and they were very prompt. They sent Tim to my house and he was amazing. Very friendly, professional and he even gave my dog a treat. That s how companies should have maintenance guys like Tim. Not the cranky dudes that come to your house, be grumpy and make a lot of mess in your house. I recommend Becht/givens for your hvac services. P.S not affiliated or payed by them. Mark and Ryan at Becht came out to service our furnace as a second opinion since the previous company told us we needed a replacement due to a dangerous CO leak. Only knowing the concern about CO leaking, they used a camera to check for cracks in the heat exchange, sniffed for CO in our vents, and did a combustion analysis to confirm. They told us our furnace was fine. I explained my relief given the previous company and then asked what I owed. To my surprise, they told me I owed nothing. Second opinions are free. They saved me $8,000 and asked me for nothing in return. Thorough, likable, explained everything they were doing, why, and what was happening. Couldn’t be happier. Thanks, Mark and Ryan.

Our water heater broke over the weekend and the basement flooded. We were very lucky to have Brayton Brading come over to check it out. He was knowledgeable, and very thorough. He worked fast and made sure the job was done properly even though it took so long. We were so glad to he was the technician that showed up to fix the hot water heater during a busy holiday weekend. Couldn't reccommend Brayton enough. Great attitude and super careful with COVID precautions as well.

This is the company you want to repair or replace your HVAC system. I cannot speak highly enough about Becht/Givens’ entire employee base that I had the very good fortune to come across by mere luck. The previous owner of my home had passed but he took excellent care of the place I now call home. I got a couple estimates from companies I found on Google. I thought they were way off base with their prices. As well as Just Maybe, they thought I was a damsel in distress. I’m hardly a damsel but I was distressed for sure! Thats when I noticed the annual preventative maintenance stickers on my very old unit. It was Becht/Givens. I thought one more estimate can’t hurt and if they were good enough for Mr. Beltle, I’m interested. I called after 4 pm on a Friday. The most pleasant lady answered the phone. I told her my whole scenario. She listened then asked me a few questions and told me Daniel would be at my house Saturday morning between 10-12. Daniel Was at my house very shortly after 10am. This guy, Uber polite, friendly, informative, professional and incredibly helpful. He also gave me the most reasonable estimate by far on a brand new Lennox HVAC system. Remember this was Saturday morning. He texted me Sunday to ask if they could begin work on Monday? They had most everything on hand and would swing into the local Lennox dealership to pick up the rest. A 3 man crew was at my house the following morning to install it. Jeff, Buddy and True rocked! It was raining very hard at times as well as nasty humid. That did not phase them. They set up a canopy tent outside right next to the house to install the new A/C unit. In my basement the old furnace and everything except the ductwork was hauled out without one grumble. These guys work great together and we’re very nice to me answering all my “What about this” questions. So, if you are a review reader this is an excellent and ethical company. I am very pleased to have done business with them. Daniel, Jeff, Buddy and True delivered. The only regret I have is not remembering the woman’s name that I initially spoke with. She was right up there with the rest of the group.

Lennox unit installed less than two years ago - serviced less than a year ago. Had a board go out. Was supposed to be under warranty. Got charged $500 for parts and labor. They tried to push their service plan that would have discounted the rate. Called a few other HVAC repair companies and found out that it WAS under warranty and the service charge to replace it would have been around $175-$200.
