Catons Plumbing, Drains & Water Cleanup

We have been dealing with issues for months when I finally decided to contact Catons. The online scheduler was great. But the actual service was even better. Nick, the technician was exceptionally nice and efficient. I appreciated his patience with me as he explained my repair options. I really appreciate his willingness to get me the soft close toilet seats I could not live without. So glad I contacted Catons.

Communication wasn’t the best with company or technician. It was clear English was not his first language. My technician kept asking me to flush toilets. If I’m paying I’m not sure why I had to go around and flush toilets like the assistant. I wish the service tech was better able to communicate with me. As a new homeowner I needed more understanding of the process. The price seemed extremely high to snake a line. 700 bucks. Arrival time was outside of the 8-12 window.

I contracted with Caton in 2018 to replace the water line from the curb to the house and put in an external spigot, and then this year to unify our hot and cold lines from two heaters into a new one, and replace two bad showers faucets to increase water flow and pressure on the second floor. I could not be more pleased with the results. We can us all three bathrooms for the first time since we purchased the house in 2010. HUGE thanks to Nick who kept working on the pressure and flow problems until he fixed them to our satisfaction.

Hungh came super fast - and on Christmas Day no less! - and did a great job of replacing and repairing my toilet valve. He even gave some advice on how to go about future projects, and made doubly sure there was no leaking from the valve. All that, and a reasonable price. THANK YOU so much!

It was on a Sunday. I needed to get a new flange the old one had rusted. I called Catons plumbing and they said they would be out in an hour. There was no extra charge for a Sunday call. The technician was out in a timely manner..assessed the situation:quoted me a price. He confirmed that the price was okay with me. He was very professional. He explained what he was goin to do. Took his time ( not trying to rush to get to the next job). He didn’t mind when I put my 2 cents in😀😀.. I’ve used Catons Plumbing several times before. They are my go to for any plumbing issues.

Had a toilet frequently clogging and almost always slow draining. Many attempts to plunger and use a 3’auger didn’t fully resolve. So decided to hire a plumber instead of buying a longer auger for $75+ and not know if that was truly the issue.

Elijah addressed our issue quickly. It was a matter of a longer august. Received a courtesy discount because the toilet was clean and no mess to really deal with which was appreciated.

I was very pleased with the technician , Ram. He was reasonable in price range doing a very efficient job. Also, he made pertinent suggestions to help with minor issues. Came out same day when we discovered water leaking into our 1st floor. We were kept appraised and updated on arrival time. Plumber was efficient and professional. Overall cost was not as bad as we thought it would be. Only wished they still did drywall repair.

I called Catons Plumbing today and their customer service is topshelve. All the people I spoke with were very polite and knowledgeable. And they had someone at my rental in under an hour from the time I first called. Even though I called at about 5pm, which is pretty late. Elijah went over and fixed the water valve and called to update me. I will definitely use them again in the future. I will give them 10 stars if I could. I was so impress with their service. Dave is very knowledgeable and was able to quickly figure the best approach to install a modern appliance where a broken antique one was. He bought the new toilet, fittings, and tools necessary to complete the job. All old parts were taken away from the job site. A++ work.

I needed a water heater quickly and they responded immediately. Within 5 hours I had a new water heater and hot water! We always use Catons. Thank you so much.

Needed to snake the main line. Job by Daryl was excellent. Professional and courteous. Explained the problem showed me what caused the clog and reassembled the toilet and left and good standards. Also told him about other projects and gave me a quote.

Unfortunately they were unable to fix our problem. We have an odd smell in the bathroom and despite 2 plumbers and a sizable bill, we have no resolution.

First time with drainage issue, nothing found - no charge. Second time, called them back, got an immediate response, they came back a couple weeks after the initial visit, found and fixed the problem at a very reasonable charge and we are very pleased. Catons Plumbing are a first class outfit.

So far just got estimate for work.

We contacted Catons Plumbing to help us with a slow drip we had in our tub faucet. They give four hour windows, so we scheduled them for a four hour window on a Saturday. They said they would send us a confirmation email right away for the appointment scheduled. We never got the email and it did not go to our spam either. When I called them about this, they said oh I think it's a problem with gmail filtering our emails out. I have never heard of this. Typically, even if gmail filters it out, it would go to spam. Anyways, that's not even the main issue. We had blocked off the 4 hour window for Saturday and made sure we were available for the 9:00-1:00 window. It was passed 1:00 and we still hadn't heard from them. When I called them to see what was going on, they transferred me to dispatch and said they didn't have any technicians available. We basically wasted a Saturday waiting for them and they did not even have the decency to call us saying that they would be later than the window they provided us. They seem like a scam. I wouldn't recommend them in the future. If you're looking for a good reliable plumbing company, use Peddicord Plumbing. We ended up going with them and they were so much better with communication and responsiveness. Much more professional.

I had a clogged kitchen sink. They came to my place today around 1:00 pm and gave me a price of $647 to clear the line using a snake. I thought their pricing was high and ridiculous. So I did not go with them.

Next I called Mr. Rooter, they were at my place in 30 mins and charged me $250 to run the snake and clear the line.

I got the feeling that Catons Plumbing goes around fishing for a high price from people who are need due to an emergency. Very disappointed with the local company.

The first technician they sent out was totally incompetent and unable to repair the hot water heater. However, after we complained, a different technician was dispatched and did a superb job.

Tech ELIJAH wax hardest working repair man I’ve ever encountered, from ANY company!!

I submitted an online ticket at 2:45pm requesting service at 4pm. I got a call that technician would be at my home been 3:30 - 7:30pm. They were early, arriving at 4:45pm. The tech diagnosed the problem quickly and repaired leaky turn off valve. He was done in an hour. Amazing work. The cost was very reasonable also. I was really amazed at their response time. I didn't think I would really get someone as soon as I did. I am very pleased. 5 Stars!

Derryl was Super friendly, knowledgeable, on time and went above and beyond to fix the issues I had with my garbage disposal and dishwasher pipes being cleaned and rewired so the water would drain properly. Will definitely use their services again when I need a good plumber

Elijah, Tech #0176 was professional, personable, and fully knowledgeable. We had a severe sewage backup caused by 2 separate problems which he easily identified and resolved. Great young man - a credit to the company!

I started with one repair person but ended with Darryl and the end was better. He fixed my problem and kept me informed along the way. It took longer than I liked but I’m pleased with the outcome. I had a badly leaking toilet with a rotten subfloor that required immediate attention. Dwayne came out, removed the toilet, repaired the subfloor to the best of his ability and replaced the toilet so that my handicapped mom would be able to use it that same night. We also had a leak in the stack that he was able to diagnose pretty accurately. He did a great job and was polite, respectful of my home and very thorough. Outstanding service!

Mr Alphonsis was amazing, he explained all the functions of the water heater , the normal noises it makes, settings. He has patience, kindness. Extraordinary knowledge of the system of old water heaters ( that I had). Caring , conscientious and professional.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AT ALL... Total RIP OFF and SCAM Prices... they don't work with customer problems but take undue advantage knowing that you will have to fix and pay so customers will pay anything plumbers ask. We just had minor leakage from poor chaulking and plumber cut out drywall and basically said he won't patch up. He charged $480 for leak detection for 30 minutes (30 minutes extra time he charged because he had to run to store to get flash light) initially he said for this type of problem it wouldn't take more than 30 minutes yet he charged for extra 30 minutes. Next he basically just chaulked area and that was it... I paid $480 and that was it... cant believe we paid $200 odd just for chaulking... We REGRET calling them for our minor problem and we ended up paying HUGE charges for NOTHING.... LESSON LEARNED BIG TIME. I told others don't repeat what we went through. Manager called and not WILLING TO HELP IN ANYWAY or provide refund. They make you sign everything but then they will charge all these fees it's SCAM BUSINESS.

We have used Catons for several issues in our house. Most recently we had a leak on Christmas day. I called the following morning and received a same day appointment. The technician arrived in a very short time and was polite, quick and knowledgeable. The price was less than expected and even lower than the estimate. I think Catons did a wonderful job and we will keep right on using them as we have for years.

Garbage disposer was leaking. After inspection, the issue was connection was loose. Honest and reassuring.

Catons showed up quickly in response to a service request I submitted online the night before. The plumber had a replacement disposal on the truck and installed it quickly (half hour). Although the plumber did a good job and we have used Catons often before, I will shop around next time for a better price and product selection. The only product they offered was not one I would have chosen, and is identical to the one that failed.

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT go to these guys unless you want to be COMPLETELY RIPPED OFF! They will charge you double what their competitors do and sometimes even 2 1/2 times more. They will court you to win the business, then destroy your lawn and ignore your calls. They will hurry to complete the work and not do the job properly, causing thousands more dollars in damages. Their warranty is substandard. Try His Way Plumbing for an ethical company that is prompt, courteous, reasonably priced, and professional. I’m calling every single person I know in the business right now and they are telling me that Caton has a despicable reputation. I wish I would have known. I feel so sorry for the customers they continue to rob.

Tim came very quickly to provide service, was clear about what steps were needed to complete the investigation of the leak, and was very patient in finding answers to our problem! We will definitely be calling to request him in the future.

We needed a refrigerator waterline valve replaced from push type to a normal turn type and Elijah was very professional and made sure everything worked flawlessly.

I called to have my bathtub drain unclogged. Scheduling was very easy and the person I talked to was very nice and professional. My original appointment window was 4pm-8pm yesterday. I got a call stating technicians were running behind and may not get to me until close to 8pm or maybe a little later but they would keep me updated. A little after 8pm I got a call stating they still didn't have a technician available but someone could still come out. I chose to reschedule until the following day. This morning I received a call 30 minutes before my window stating a technician would be out within an hour. Darryl, the technician, came right as scheduled. He thoroughly explained what may be the issue and the options available to fix it. He was able to fix it within 30 minutes and even showed me pictures of what was causing the blockage. I have used this company several times in the past and will continue to do so for my plumbing needs.

Catons was prompt, polite, considerate, professional, and above all competent. Our hot water was out, and our water heater was replaced within the day. Their price was even ~600 below what another Baltimore company quoted us for the same work.

All in all, I would happily recommend them to anyone.

My experience was pleasant from the beginning to the end. My technician did an inspection, explained the issue and explained the steps to resolve the issue. He replaced a portion of my main water shut off valve the same day and at an affordable price. I will use this Caton again.

I wanted to use Catons because the work the did for me previously was very good so I called them again. The young man that came to perform the work was so very knowledgable. experienced and willing to explain exactly what work he was going to perform prior to starting. He wore his boot covers without me asking which was good since i have light carpet and he had his mask and gloves. He also quoted the prices for each section of work and time frame it was going to take. He also offered suggestions for future work. I wanted to watch how he was working on the faucet in the master bath. He said he does the work like what he would want it done in his own home. I asked him to inspect the piping and hose from my garbage disposal and dishwasher he corrected the hose so it would drain and not hold staginet water and orders. He was efficient and I was so impressed with his calm and patient manner. Also he was very polite and respectful. His name is Sanga and I will request his expertise for all my plumbing projects from now on.

I just moved into my new condo a couple months ago and had a leak in the pipes from my hot water heater! I knew no local plumber, but Caton came quickly and had assessed and repaired my problem in under two hours. Hungh, the plumber, was great and followed CDC recommendations of masking because of the Covid pandemic, and I am delighted with the service!

I had multiple plumbing issues because the condo was 14 years old. The plumber ,Bruce, diagnosed and fixed issues such as availability of hot water and functioning of a master bedroom toilet right away. Also, in regard to the master bedroom toilet, he placed a sensor so that I will know immediately if there is a problem. He will be our go to plumber if any other plumbing issues arise.

Caton’s was able to schedule us quickly and fixed the issue very fast! They also gave us some tips on how to prevent future issues. Very pleased and would use them again!

Still need to get other repairs from different company. However Mr Bruce did excellent work repairing and replacing pipes! Basement laundry drain sink and pipe repair and replace...

Water link in the basement bathroom pipe busted behind the wall. Joe m plumber came in fixed the problem.Great job will definitely use them again

I will start by saying that Catons was quick to respond and did indeed get to my house in an hour on a weekend. They are NOT experienced with tankless water heaters. They came and looked at the unit. Couldn’t give me a solid reason as to why the water was not hot. Noticed burner was out. Did a quick scrub of the igniter. Heat came back to water. Woke up this morning.. less than 24 hours later to no heated water. Took the money and ran. There was no suggestion. No ordering of parts. Just a sandpapering for almost $300. If your techs are not equipped do not send. Ensure they are up to standard on the item they are sent to fix. No one should have to shell out money multiple times to diagnose and resolve what should be a simple fix.

Great service, the plumber that fixed the pipe in my basement was highly competent and knowledgeable. If I needed Catons Plumbing for another job I would request Dave Whittington, I’m sure the other plumbers are good but, with Dave at the helm I know I’m in good hands!

Charles was the plumber from Catons who was sent to our home to repair what turned out to be 1) a leak in the bathtub drain pipe and 2) a break in the sump pump drain pipe!

Very professional, thorough and my husband says the caulkwork is a thing of beauty.

Serviceman was courteous and competent, took about 1.5 hrs. to “power snake” a stubbornly clogged kitchen drain, cleaning out the line for approx. 100ft.

The company charges a flat rate of $681 to unclog a drain line, but upon inquiry was given 20% off (10% Veteran, 10% Senior) so the total bill was $544. Very expensive, but the company came right out and the problem is now in the past. My old reliable plumber (Dave at Pipe Rite) would have charged me half that price, but no longer in business.)

Plumber arrived at 11 and we were fixed and the back on by one am. Had three young ladies coming back from the beach that needed to have access to showers and they did. Well done Mr H.

Unclogged toilet quickly and without a mess. Service was professional with explanation of how toilet was unclogged. Would use service again if needed.

A tech came out within an hour, they identified the leak that was twice missed by another company and fixed it within a few hours. They seemed fairly priced. Final price was a little higher than the estimate but that was due to the cost of materials.

They went the extra mile and stayed to ensure the problem was fixed and that we would be good.

Charles arrived on time for the estimate, explained my options, and was able to complete replacement of the hot water heater within a couple hours (including having the new one delivered).

This was the first time I used Catons — and it was a Sunday morning of a holiday weekend! Darryl promptly arrived to repair an emergency toilet issue. When he walked in the door, I told him what was happening, and Darryl knew immediately what needed to be done/replaced before even looking at it! Great plumber, great company, and great service!

I had a leaky main water valve and called Catons. They came out the same day. Joe was very knowledgeable and friendly. He replaced the faulty valve and made sure the leak was no longer there.

Initial service was good although small leak from replaced valve needed follow up repair. Service tech who came out did good job of fixing leak. But the main reason for two stars was poor value. At the time when a plumbing problem developed I was in the process of getting three estimates. Two estimates were due in. Caton was providing their estimate when plumbing problem came up and they offered to fix right away. The subsequent estimate for saw work was substantially less. I can't help but feel I was taken advantage of due to the circumstances. I would recommend Caton for consideration but suggest get two other estimates and select best value.

There seemed a water leakage underneath the outside front yard hose bib. Bruce and his apprentice Ezra came 11/18/19 to detect where there was indeed a leakage and if so, where the leakage occurred. They listened to what I had to say and answered all the questions I had, and then clocked the water meter to see if there was a problem with the water source pipeline. They were patient and pro-active in what they did, which helped to ease the concern over the leakage from the main water supply line. A follow-up call was made by their supervisor Greg today to make sure the customer satisfaction was met. They deserve my 5 star service rating.

Dave 2804 is a good technician who explained all possibilities wrong with my toilet. He came later in the day and early morning just to try and resolve my issue. We are glad to say the drain is cleared and now getting a new toilet as we discovered not only it was clogged in the drain line itself but an issue with the toilet as well. I feel that their rates are extremely expensive and should be reviewed, all I needed was to have the drain from the washer machine unblocked, and was charged $400 overall I feel that the technician did a good job.

The outdoor faucet was too low to the ground and needed to be raised in accordance with a drawing and specs. This was a custom project. Elijah followed the specs to the letter and improved upon them. He made sure that the inside installation was convenient for me to use, When he was done, both inside and outside my house it was as if the installation had always been there which was perfect. He was neat and left no remnants of his work lying around. About promptness: I called that morning and Elijah arrived at the appointed time, assessed the project correctly and went right to work. I could not have asked for more. It would make life much easier and I would do more projects around my house if more businesses in this area conducted themselves like Caton's.

We had a sudden leak on one of our valves, among a few other plumbing questions around the house. After some research, we settled on Catons Plumbing and made an appointment.

Jason was assigned to the call and arrived later in the evening. He was incredibly professional, patient and offered a very good price for a solid solution he had devised to replace a line of old piping with new type L copper so we had more piece of mind and trust in the piping behind the walls.

The job was ultimately done quickly, affordably and efficiently despite a few hangups, and we will definitely be using Catons Plumbing and hopefully Jason in the near future for some other rejuvenation and repair projects around the home.

They did a good job and showed me all the corrections they made and how they did so in a way that'll provide stability and longevity. However, I feel I was misled on the estimate. My understanding was it would be no more than $400 but ended up paying nearly $800 for a repaired pipe, installed washer hose, and a new pvc washer drain. $800 seemed excessive.

Both technicians that worked on this were friendly and knowledgeable. We couldn't recreate the problem with the hose bib on the first visit, so no charge. We figured out how to pressurize the leak, and the second visit was quick and easy. Both appointments were scheduled same day, and the schedulers were great to work with, too. Good experience!

The plumber was very knowledgeable and experienced. The work of removing and reinstalling 2 valves in advance of a washing machine delivery went smoothly. There were a few wrinkles regarding shutting off water from a well, and from an oil-fired heater/boiler, which was executed without a hitch. Both the journeyman and intern were professional and competent, as well as pleasant.

The technician arrived promptly and went immediately to work after asking a few pertinent questions about the issue. The technician worked without a pause for 2-1/2 hours and, when finished, immediately began cleaning up. He was polite, courteous and fixed my issue - which was a sewer line clogged by tree roots.

The plumber from Caton's tried hard to save me money. I ended up getting a new water heater, but not before he tried his best to get the old one working again.

Fantastic experience with Catons and especially with Joe who came to help with our plumbing issue! We discovered a leak coming from the ceiling of our basement laundry room and called Catons, who sent a plumber out to us the same day, in just a few hours, for a FREE assessment. When I turned on the garbage disposal at about 7 a.m. Friday, water shot all over the kitchen. The drain was clogged. I called Caton's right away, and a plumber, Bruce Jordan, was at my door in northeast Baltimore at 8 a.m. He went right to work diagnosing the problem, explained what he found, ran out to get a part and was back in 15 minutes. He installed a cleanout and then cabled the kitchen drain. He was fast, efficient and he patiently answered all my questions.
