Very nice prompt service, very nice service reps, and excellent customer service

The complete experience was VERY positive. Ben was outstanding to deal with and extremely competent. The 4 Star rating instead of 5 Stars was outside of Ben's control - the price was too high for the task. But I needed it done. Again, BEN was OUTSTANDING.

Knowledgeable and detail oriented. Communicates well and goes the extra mile.

Ulysses Diaz is an amazing technician. Highly recommended calling and asking for him only, he is also one of the guys on the cover photo (him in the middle) for Gundlach.

I just had a young man by the name of David Gallegos come out and service my hot water heater and furnace. This gentleman was incredibly kind and professional. Was courteous to me and my fiancé, answered all of my questions and took his time to show me everything he was doing. He never once complained about the logistics of my roof (it’s a complicated two story roof). I am so impressed with David that I am now a forever customer of Gundlach’s. 5 out of 5 starts, 10 out of 10 recommend to everyone. What a wonderful experience. Thank you David.

Awesome service! Technician Dan arrived within the time frame I was given. He was very friendly, respectful, and informative with questions and concerns I had. Very fast and to the point service, had my AC up and running in about 30mins. Keep up the hard work Dan and the positive attitude. I'm a first time customer and was very satisfied with the service and will be doing all my AC and heating services with Gundlach's from now on!

Dan Thompson A/C Technician for Gundlach's just serviced our air conditioner. I would rate him 5 stars for his work. Thorough, completed the service and we are confident that the summer will be great since our unit has been serviced by him. He as serviced our unit before and we can count on him to do it efficiently and correctly. I have requested him to check our unit each year.

Zero star for me! I’m gonna make a long story short. I called them out to take a look at a AC unit on one of my rental properties. He called me back and told me it was the motor blower and that it was covered under warranty. I asked him what the charge was for them to fix it. I was told it’s hourly and shouldn’t be more then $200. Never got a call stating the job was done and the final cost. I got a surprised charge on my card of $316. Didn’t have a problem paying that. My problem was I was charged a amount more then quoted and the guy basically called me a liar said he didn’t have to give me a itemized receipt and that they charge a flat rate for residential work... I was on the phone for about 30 minutes trying to get a breakdown of what I was paying for and he refused to give it to me stating he didn’t have to. I will definitely be taking this to the labor board if I do not get a itemized receipt for what I paid for. I will never use this company again after being lied to and was called a liar.

We have been very pleased as customers of Gundlach's. We subscribe to their monthly service contract and the people and service we receive are consistently superior. Most recently, Ulises D. came out to service our heater and water heater for the season and he was punctual, polite and professional. No complaints here! Thank you Gundlach's.

Gundlach's has been taking care of all our home's plumbing and heating & A/C needs for the last 3 years. Always professional, always on time. Customer service from office staff to service technicians is exceptional.

Dan T was very knowledgeable and personable. He arrived promptly after I scheduled the service call. Upon arrival, he diagnosed the problem and quickly repaired the unit. Although it was late, abd hot on a Sunday evening, Dan never showed any irritation or displeasure for being called out. Thank you for your service sir, I would definitely use Gundlach's again.

Gundlach's is an extremely reputable company. On top of that, the professionalism of Dan and his knowledge of the industry is awesome. Not only was he able to fix everything, but he was able to make me feel comfortable through the whole experience.

Moved to new location and needed gas and water shut off valves for appliances. Dispatch was great with getting details and tech was able to fix my problem in short order before new appliances arrived. Made my day less stressful for sure. Thanks a lot

Both technicians Marty &Eddie were very thorough and knowledgeable about how to explain how things were going to be installed.We had the AC unit installed and new duct work done.A big thank you to all the staff who helped! We are very satisfied with the work done and will definitely refer this company to others.

The tech that came out to check our ac unit was very professional and very courteous. He explained everything very well and was honest and didn't try to pressure us with any up sales. Love this place.

I used Gundlachs in the past for plumbing issues and replacing an old water heater, and they always did a good job. I had thought of them mostly for plumbing, but heating and air is in their tag line for good reason. I more recently needed to replace my AC/heating unit and they were OUTSTANDING! They did a thorough inspection before writing the estimate (and will not change the price on you after the fact). Their salesperson was informative, but not pushy at all. He was very respectful and took time to answer all of my questions. I got a few competing bids from other top rated companies and Gundlachs surpassed all of them in terms of total price, quality of the unit, and warranty. They completed the install in one day and gave me a Smart thermostat as an unexpected bonus. I have been using my new AC/heater for almost a year now and it works extremely well. A new AC-heating unit is a big investment. I definitely recommend Gunlachs for quality, price, warranty, and customer service! Seriously, the best in Bakersfield.

We called out Gundlach’s before the July 4th holiday to look at our AC unit. Outside of the commutation issues we had with this company their technician would open the door without knocking or ringing the door bell; he never asked if it was okay if he came in and out of the house. The technician for some reason had to use our water hose and didn’t put it back on top of all this he left all our gates open and wire clippings on our dog run.

If it wasn’t for the discount they provided us for the part delays we experienced I would have provided a lower rating.

An actual licensed and trained technician (not just a parts changer) THANK YOU for tuning up the wall heater, diagnosing which part needed changing, and now it's reliable, quiet, and just does it's job as it should.

Dan T. completed our spring servicing of our air condition system. He was thorough in covering everything in the system. He was neat, using booties when he entered the house. He changed out both filters, went into the attic to look at the condenser and also went outside to check on the compressor. He documented all his readings and findings on the inspection sheets. He noted that the refrigerant was a little low and asked if I wanted to charge the system. It was 13 years since we had charged the system and so it made sense that we could be a little low after all these years. He went over all the findings and cleaned up before getting my signature and leaving.

Since putting in our pool, we have to turn in an annual test of our backflow prevention assembly to the Kern County Public Health Services Department. When I get the notice, I call Gundlach's, they come out within a day or two and test it. They are quick and professional, with great customer service.

Scheduled a appt for someone to show up for service between 9a and 12p, no one ever showed up between this scheduled time🤷🏻‍♂️! So I cancelled the appt, guess business is booming with current customers and not concerned with receiving new customers at the moment🤣!!

Great work. Found the problem very quickly and repaired it. AC back on and we are very thankful for the excellent work. Very knowledgeable and friendly, even under these extreme conditions.

Ulises did an Air conditioning service and safety inspection on my unit and was very efficient and respectful as well as knew what needed to be done. He cleaned up and replaced anything that he used which some guys don't. It was a very good experience and would ask for him to be sent out again. Thanks, Gundlach's and Ulises, Linda English

Daniel was courteous and friendly. He arrived on time per our appointment. He was thorough regarding what he was inspecting about our air conditioning unit. He informed us about a burnt out part and the costs to repair it. Overall gundlachs has been doing a good job taking care of our a/c and heating.

Used them twice now and have had them help us out in emergency situations! They officially have me for life.
I had originally called Monarch Home Service and they tried to tell me my system was broken and I needed a new motor and tried to charge me $800 to fix it. (Mind you the system had been working perfectly before their maintenance and stopped working right when their tech left).
I called Gundlach for a second opinion, their wonderful tech came out and checked everything and turns out the previous Monarch tech had unplugged my system in the attic so that's why we had spent the last two days in utter dispare with no AC in this Bakersfield heat. Gundlach saved the day once again! Highly recommend, have only had pleasant, quick, and easy interactions with them.

I trust these guys. They do quality work and are up front regarding repairs and pricing. Highly recommended.

Buyer beware!!!!! Smile in your face and rob you for your money. I have 3 disabledpeople in my home and my tank less water heater went out. The gentleman told me the lowest he could do it was for $4000. Being that I needed hot water for my 2 children I trusted what he was saying. I found out 2 days later that they overcharged me by $1500 over any other company for the same exact work. It's really sad that people feel that it's OK to rob people like that and stead of try to get repeat customers. I've loved multiple messages for the owners or at least a manager of a call me and Obviously I'm not important enough to get a return Phone call. I just think it's pretty disgusting $1500 is a lot of money for a lot of people and the fact that you can gouge people that badly should say something about your company or a head lease or sells people that come out and do the work. Sunday!! Pipes jammed!! Kitchen sink full of grey water!! Washer overflowing in garage!! Help. Called Gundlach's. Ben shows up ready to solve the problem. After having a look at the kitchen sink and overflowing washer in the garage, Ben locates a clean-out we didn't know existed, breaks out the tools and commences to address the clogged line. Few minutes later, bam, clogged line cleared. Ben even moves our washer back into place! As always, Gundlach's sends the best they have and we get the best service in the city.

Gundlach is and had been a solid go-to. I'm a self defined do it myself person, but I'm also not as smart as the Tech's that have been to my AC unit and politely fixed my solution. Thanks, all.

Gundlach's replaced my 20 year old split system and did a fantastic job! But the service did not stop there. They put extra vents in my eaves, sealed recessed lights and added to my attic insulation. They put a second return in my master bedroom that fixed a temperature balance problem that I have had since my house was built 20 years ago. Thanks to Ken, Craig and the crew for the great job.

I will never do business with this company again. I find them to be very unethical. The recent call was for a problem I was having with my toilet. I watched the guy as he loosened the hose, squirted out some water after taking out the filter from the hose and reconnecting it. It took him less than a half hour and he wanted to charge me nearly $200 for this job. He replaced no parts, but his rationale was he had to work a little hard than he initially thought. He initially told me it would be $49 for the service call and if it was what he thought it was, it would be another $49. It was what he thought, but he told me because he had to work a little hard, he would have to charge more for the labor. He even tried to create another problem by telling me there would be future problems because water was leaking around one of the screws. Yes water was leaking, because he loosened it and didn't tighten it. This is the second time I called them and potential problems were created by the technician. Never again.

We just got our new AC installed. The team from Gundlach's was efficient, professional, and courteous. They explained everything they found and everything they did; no surprises. Highly recommended!

Check the website. My complaint to the State Licensing Board against Gundlachs has been referred the the Attorney General for administrative legal review. BUYER BEWARE. This company WILL take advantage of their customers.

I don’t think leaving a single 5-Star review is sufficient to express my regards of Gundlach’s.
From their degree of the girls’ professional conduct, to the way the technicians handle the work and present themselves. This is by far, the best service company I’ve dealt with since 2014 that I’ve been a homeowner in Bakersfield.

Great customer service.

Unfortunately, my elderly parents purchased an HVAC Unit from Gundlach's. Although the purchase was made now over a couple of years ago, I found out from my elderly parent's recently after the fact, that they were NOT apprised of all the rebates they were entitled to of @ least $4000 or more so they paid FULL price of $10,000.

When I purchased my own AC Unit a year before from a very reputable AC company, I ended up paying $3,800 for a 16 SEER (excellent) Unit after all my rebates, which the AC company had graciously apprised me of and even filled out all of the rebate paper work for me too. My parents were also sold things they did not need. I know they (Gundlach's) had to know obviously, that the rebates from the State of CA and PG&E etc., were not activated by my parents, and I wonder if the huge rebates were redeemed by anyone there at Gundlach's instead. Hopefully, you all (Gundlach's) there did not cash them in for yourselves. BEWARE of this shady place! I will tell everyone that I can not to do business there. Also see the YELP Reviews in regard to some 80-yr.-old people.

I feel you took advantage of an elderly couple, but lucky for the Gundlach's company, now too much time has probably gone by for me to get an attorney on behalf of my parents. Again, it is very disturbing that this level of dishonesty towards an elderly couple was committed. People, make sure you check for and get your rebates from the State of CA and PG&E which, they are still paying out to consumers to this day.

Problems with Product/Service

We had a sales man come to our home from Gundlach's and sold us on work that we wanted done. In his sales pitch he promised us that after the work was complete we would receive a green certification that would increase the value of our home and a rebate from PG&E for almost 3,000 dollars. The... work was completed just about a year ago and we still have not received any certification and the rebate check was only in the amount of 1,700 dollars. We were told that they had messed up the filing of the rebate twice and when it was rejected by the processing agency they let it sit in their office for two weeks the first time and a month the second before we were notified. Finally on the third attempt the were able to file out the paperwork correctly and submit it. The problem is that if they had filed it correctly the first time we would have gotten the full rebate we were promised. Now we are getting ready to sell the home and the green certification we were promised has never arrived.

So very happy we are apart of Gundlach's Comfort Club. Our air recently went out on a Sunday and Gundlach's had someone here the next morning for service and ultimately a new unit. Henry, walked us through the cost, options, pros and cons. I love that they send updates regarding appointments and when someone is headed to our home. They also attach a picture of the person coming out. Could not be happier with our new unit and the install by Bruce and Oscar. They did a fantastic job!

Dan T. made a service call because the Carrier AC/Heat Pump would not go into defrost. Dan T. traced on the electronics and determined he need to call Carrier tech support. Tech support reviewed units wiring diagram and found a missing connection, possibly disconnected and miss-wired at earlier service I had done. Once connected defrost mode triggers when it is supposed to. He ran a test and unit performed correctly. Dan T. is easy going and gave attention to detail that was required to solve this problem that was really hidden from view and unique. I would recommend Dan T. to anyone needing heat AC/pump service. I am exceedingly pleased with his perseverance.

I have used Gundlach's for my home, so when I had a water leak at my office I thought I should definitely give them a call. Henry came out promptly and was so helpful, friendly and knowledgeable! I was so worried and already bummed after having another company out to try and help us, but it was so different when Henry came out. I instantly felt like the situation was manageable and that I was going to get an honest evaluation of my situation and any applicable solutions, whether it involved Gundlach's or not. If you ever have a stressful situation that you need help or guidance with - call Gundlach's! Thank you again, Henry!

The technician, Fabian was very courteous and professional. He was very prompt and took care of the problem quickly. One of the most enjoyable service calls I’ve had. I would recommend him and the company.

Very expensive with attitude. I have utilized Gundlach's for years. I have let them off the hook on a few occasions, like the time when I was charged hundreds of dollars to replace a starting capacitor...yeah. The bottom line is that when I did not feel that the cost of a leak test costing hundreds of dollars would not be deducted from any repair work, as is there service call fee, our repairman scrunched his face, became short with his customer service face and frankly I could not wait to pay him to get him and Gundlach's off my property and out of my life. I shall happily go elsewhere....

Our A/C stopped working over Labor Day weekend, and after a no show from another company, we reached out to Gundlach's. They quickly sent out a technician, Nick, who was very helpful and patient and explained repair options. He repaired our A/C quickly. We will definitely use Gundlach's for any future AC repairs and maintenance.

Called them for service on my heating and cooling system. Great technician. On time and good work. I will continue to use them in the future.

Called and they were out in less than an hour to diagnose a heater issue. Repair was complete just as fast. Daniel (service tech) was very friendly and informative. Would recommend them to any one.

Still in awe! My air conditioner broke in 105 degree weather, called another top service whose soonest appointment was in 5 days. Called Gundlach after reading good recommendations from homeowners on Nextdoor and they came the same day. Only charged 50$ diagnostic fee and AC was fixed and working in around 30 minutes! 50$ total bill! They could have told me anything like I needed a new unit or could have dragged it out saying it need massive service or cleaning and I would have paid! Honesty and integrity at is peak here! I will always use Gundlach from now on! They have a monthly service plan too that cleans and checks units and replaces filters. Highest recommendation for this professional and trustworthy company! It’s no wonder they have been in business so long and receive high marks!

Henry arrived at our home within the timeframe and called to confirm the issue. He was courteous, professional and replaced our faucet. We are very pleased with the work and service.
