If you are going to go solar (which you should especially in AZ) then you have to give these guys a chance. They came in and absolutely gave us the best deal and saved us $8,486 from the next closest bid. Brad was absolutely terrific and patient with us. We are slow to make decisions and weigh every option. Brad was not pushy whatsoever and actually encouraged us to get more bids. Other companies tried to have us sign on the spot and that is simply just not how we work. We couldn’t be happier with our decision, we got installed almost two years ago and everything has worked exactly how Brad said it would. We have yet to have an APS bill and we even made $500 for sending our friend to Custom Home Services who signed up with them also. Truly a customer service first company. I couldn’t be happier. I just moved into my home and didn’t know much about Solar. Anthony informed me on APS and how it just makes sense to go Solar in this territory. Thankful that he called me.

They delivered on their promises. We just turned on our system, so we can't speak to performance just now, but the setup worked as planned.

They seem to be out of business, so perhaps the review is a moot point. However, the slick presentation of the salesperson (who is no longer with the company) did not result in a good overall experience for me. I was promised that electricity purchased from APS would be at a flat rate of .09 per kWh, and I would sell electricity back to APS at a flat rate of .12 per kWh. I knew it was probably BS at the time, and I repeatedly asked if that was accurate. They assured me it was. And...no. I'm on a standard time-of-use plan.

I consider this purchase to have been a major financial blunder on my part. I bought the whole package, when I should have just bought solar directly with competitive quotes from multiple vendors. I should have also first addressed the root cause of my high electric bill - inefficient, old air conditioners. Now I've got to pay this huge loan off, and I am replacing the AC units on top of that.

Getting the ducts sealed was great, but it's kinda dumb that they don't CLEAN the ducts before sealing them. The Nest thermostats will not be compatible with my new AC units. Two of the Philips HUE bulbs have failed, and should be under warranty but I don't have a receipt that lists the date I purchased them. Extra attic insulation is great, but that's an easy project I could have done myself.

Edit: Response a year later? Really? So you operate under the same name doing the same thing, but...Nah I'll just leave my review as is.

Working with Josh was a positive experience. I was looking into several solar companies. He was prompt in returning calls and always made sure I understood what was going on. He would send me videos to watch when I had a concern about any of the products. In summary, Josh provided great customer service which is not a common trait. I feel peace on confident working with the products that he represents.

Erik came and gave a thorough presentation of adding solar power to our roof. He answered all my questions and we compared his system to 2 others that I had previously looked at. Using Harmon electric as the installers, I knew that they were long time company here in Phoenix and could be trusted. It's all installed now and everything that Erik said they would do , they did to our satisfaction. We received a very high quality solar panel system and mounting to the roof is all guaranteed work . I watched the crews every day and they took care of the roof and yard in a professional way not leaving any debris behind . All I had to do was open and close the gate!

My husband and I worked with Brad for our solar system. Everything was installed on time according to schedule. So far we haven't had and issues and it's been great. Brad was great to work with and explained the whole process in detail.

Brad Shaw was invited into my home in June 2020 because I was purchasing Solar. His (Listed as CEO) company came as a referral. BIGGEST most EXPENSIVE mistake I’ve ever made!! I never should have signed with him!! Pushy, pompous, patronizing and giant chip on his shoulder should have been the red flag sending him out the door. September 2020 Titan(company he sent for the job) put panels up. November 2020 my first payment was due. December was finally connected and panels are live. January’s 2021 electric bill was a few dollars less than 2020. Once your connected your electricity is now a different rate. No more time of usage. I ordered a 10,000 Tesla battery which I have yet to receive. I haven’t received a reply back from custom home services since Dec 18, 2020. Titan refers me back to custom. The amount I’m paying is more than a year’s salary. Do your due diligence before signing!! Don’t make the same stupid mistake I have made!! It might be time to seek some expert advice for where to go from here.
****UPDATE ****12 months after signing contract and loan documents still haven’t received battery installation.

Buyer beware. Do your own homework on exactly how large of a system you need, etc. Become an expert before buying solar. I am completely baffled how this place could have so many great reviews. I am an actual customer - here is my experience:

Custom home services is just a sales arm for the companies that actually spec and install the system. So, if anything is said to you during the sales cycle that is not true... too bad. Harmon Solar spec'd and installed, but did not sell - that was Custom Home Services. Custom Home Services did not spec - so not their problem.

Was told that APS rate structure would change to a flat rate cost. Not true, still subject to peak rates, etc.
Was told that - in the winter - would bank credits. Not true - while winter daylight is 70% of peak summer, my solar output is 40%. My winter electric bills are actually more than my summer bills.
System was configured for 110% coverage - because of above two items - not true. I have a system that cost 2x as much as the average system and I am still paying good sized electric bills.

Salesperson is no longer with the company.

Custom Home Services is not responding to emails forwarded to them by Harmon Electric and Harmon is saying - we don't sell the system and can't be held responsible for what was promised

I knew non of the perks and benefits about going solar until I reached out and spoke with Anthony. He broke everything down for us step by step and made it very simple to understand. Especially for someone new searching alternate energy options, he was very insightful. We currently aren't going solar, but I know when the time comes we'll be taken care of and in good hands. Jared was excellent. He provided information but never pushed. He always asked if he could follow up and encouraged us to research both solar and Custom Home Services. Once we compiled all our questions, Jared met with my family and answered all of our questions. He’s friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I feel good about our new investment.

We started planning with consultant & he was able to walk us through a detailed proposal. He was able to work with us and ensure we didn't exceed our budget limit and there were no surprise costs that you usually hear about other companies. We then worked with Luis as well to finalize what we wanted and she gave us some good recommendations.

I haven’t seen a company like Custom Home Services for a long time! On time with their appointments, great with following up, and remarkable customer service. Beyond thankful for having dealt with Anthony. He definitely knows solar!

We recently had our inverter go out at the worst possible time (summer) and wasn’t notified for over a month and a half. I realized my system wasn’t working when I got my first APS bill in two years for hundreds of dollars. So I ended up paying APS and my solar company at the same time for 2 months. Needless to say, I was frustrated. However, Eric at Custom Home Services was punctual, empathetic and accommodating to my situation. Eric was able to get me back some of the money I had to pay APS while my inverter was down. The fact that Custom Home Services was willing to meet me halfway and Eric‘s customer service deserves 5 stars!

Total joke working with these guys. Some of the more dishonest solar guys I ever worked with. These guys are dealers. They are not the solar company that actually comes out to install the system. The problem with dealers is if you ever have an issue, the installer is not obligated to rectify the situation. They will tell you sorry you had a bad experience with the company that sold this to you. So if you we're told one thing and received something different, you're pretty much out of luck. You can verify this by simply looking at the reviews for the companies this dealer sells for.
