Excellent communication from everyone at the company in regards to my major plumbing repair. Over the years as a Stand customer, I've noticed that their employees enjoy working for the company, and they put real pride into their work. And it shows.I have an old house in East Austin, and the work required to replace the 80+ year-old old cast-iron sewer line was immense as well as complex. Justin and Curtis (and team) saved me from a difficult, dire situation, and I don't think any other company could have even gotten the job done. They are 100% professional, hard-working, courteous and friendly with expert-level experience. Thank you!

We had a pretty awful experience with strand brothers.We were having some issues with the downstairs zone of our two zone AC system. The morning of, prior to investigating myself, I scheduled an apt with Strand Brothers in the situation I couldn't fix it myself.After cycling the circuit and eyeballing some of the components, the system kicked back on and seemed to be functional again - however given this didn't seem like a super viable long term solution, I kept the apt to have a professional check it out.Tech arrived with another person, whom I later learned to be a sales person. They cut open my plenum - manually forced open my dampers and gave my a 4k quote to replace the plenum both damper motors and some duct-work. In the process - making my previously functioning system totally kaput. Beyond this - leaving live electrical wires to the damper motors uncovered and unsheathed in our attic adjacent to wood framing.Both zones are now wildly off relative to the thermostat temperature - but in their words, at least you have cool.After discovering the cut-open plenum we requested someone to come out and re-seal it. The tech whom came out refused to plug the electrical wiring back in for fear it would just close the dampers and he'd have to come out again. This wasn't a super cool answer as we still have unsealed wires in our attic which they refuse to do anything about. We sent out an email to their customer service, which they promptly ignored and called the next day asking for someone to do something about this mess.They put us in touch with our 3rd tech, who didn't actually make it out but verbally berated me for going cavalier by cycling my power to get my system running again - as I'm not an HVAC professional. As an engineer by trade, I'm relatively aware of the risks of fire from even low-voltage exposed wiring - the 3rd tech proceeded to laugh at me for citing my concern about firing risk over the exposed electrical.All in all - after investing hours arguing with these guys over cratering our HVAC system, my wife and I conceded we weren't making meaningful progress and have since filed a charge back with our CC - as Strand brothers has refused to respond to our emails and calls requesting a refund of their mandatory $99 service fee (over which they broke our system).Attaching some photos of the situation as evidence that this company really made our HVAC lives awful.I'm eagerly awaiting a yelp reply from them citing, sorry about your experience, please email us at CustomerService@ServiceE… with your name and address, which they'll promptly send to their junk folder.Avoid this place.

*Had a gas leak. Gas company shut EVERYTHING off on Tuesday. Strand came out Wednesday afternoon. Work was done Thursday afternoon. Too late for inspector. OK. They will be out Friday for sure. Well, It is Friday. NOTHING.Call the office to find out what the issue is. Aubrey knows nothing and admits as such when asked point blank. Other than, You are not in the queue and they will get back to me next week. Really? The plumber, Nick, specifically told me the inspector was to be out today. Friday. Not sometime next week. If there was not a chance that inspection would be done today, contingency plans could have been made.Missed work to be here today for the inspector that never came. So now here I sit, no hot water, stove or heater until, sometime next week.Poor customer service, lackadaisical at best. Especially when they have already been paid. On that note, was double charged and had to send them proof? One would expect in this day and age they would be able to verify the error without me having to send them a screenshot of the double charge as proof.Still waiting for an invoice to be sent. Apparently, that was also a business promise that wasn't able to be kept either.* Rating may change based on follow up sometime next week

Samuel came out for our bi-annual service call on our 2 heat pumps. He was very professional and explained everything he was doing. He identified an issue requiring the installation team to review and escalated the ticket for resolution. Samuel was thorough in his explanations and gave me some good options to keep costs down. It was a good appt and I’d recommend him for future service.

I’ve been very pleased with the service I’ve gotten from Strand Brothers so far. Bensi was so knowledgeable and prompt in repairing our outdoor AC unit when it failed last summer (blown capacitor) that I decided to sign up for the Advantage program to get priority service and regular maintenance.Gilberto just finished up with our latest regular maintenance appointment, and again, he did a great job checking/clearing drain lines, filters, etc. I really like that he took the time to show me some potential problem areas inside our indoor unit while he had it opened up. He gave me plenty of information on various options to mitigate those problems with improvements to our system.Overall, I would recommend them to anyone in the Austin area.

I wish I could give 2 reviews - one for the dispatch center & one for the tech. Actually getting the service call was awful - no stars! They promised Friday night & finally arrived Sunday after I called 4 more times. But once Alex, the tech, arrived - 5 stars all the way! He arrived on time, diagnosed the problem in 5 minutes (bad contactor), & had the needed replacement part on his truck. The repair was done & I was up & running in 30 minutes! Alex was informative & friendly throughout the call. I can't say enough about his service. I don't know if you can request a particular tech, but if you can, ask for Alex. You won't be disappointed!

Tristan was our tech on site and he did a great job. When entered the home, he automatically put on boot covers. And the end of the maintenance, he went over every line item that he checked. I need a trusted company to provide a second opinion on the status of a home ac system. John Gonzalez came out and assessed both units. He was thorough and provided great attention to detail in rooting out the problems. John was responsive over the phone and professional. He provided a detailed explanation of the issues found, estimates for repair, and compiled a thorough report showing such. Because of his dedication and experience, he saved us on a new home purchase. I would highly recommend strand brothers and John to anyone needing trusted hvac work done. A++++

I have the preventative maintenance membership and recently I had two appointments. Efrain and his colleague came for the heater inspection. He was professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. Thomas came out for the water heater inspection. He did a review of all the plumbing in the house and was very thorough. Overall very happy with the company.

Mike L. came out because of the free tune up offered by my electric company TXU Energy. As a new homeowner, I didn't know what to expect but Mike was very polite and patient with all of the questions that I had.After a quick and efficient check up of my AC and heating system, he gave me a full report including all of the unit label information and the diagnosis ratings and readings complete with photographs of each one. He also let me know about the shortcomings of the system, and general estimates of each repair/upgrade.I look forward to working with Mike L. again soon and the others at Strand Brothers who I hear are just as knowledgeable and efficient.

Adam and Peter responded in less than a day to a service request to check our Air Purification system. We were particularly impressed with their diligence in troubleshooting the issue (ie, Peter), their personal attention, respect for our home; as well as, their collaborative professional advice. I feel much more at ease knowing that Adam will be overseeing the ongoing project to replace our deteriorated duct work and update our air purification system. And hope to see Peter for future service!

We love Strand Brothers. We have used them for years and are always impressed by the amazing and professional technicians who work on our home. Elian and Francisco recently did some work on our system and they exceeded all expectations. Elian identified an issue and Francisco was brought in to help get the issue resolved. I was blown away by their clear communication, their sensitivity to my young child, and their attention to detail. They were professional, timely, and incredibly helpful in explaining everything that was happening. They cared for our home as if it were their own, and that means a lot when you have someone doing extensive work that can take multiple days to complete. I will request to work with these two technicians again in the future.

Heat stopped working. Called. Team came and said we need a part and they will come in 2 days at a specified time. No one shows up. We call and they route us to a call center that is apparently out of the country, and tell us there was no appointment/service visit actually scheduled. No one is coming. They offer to “email” the company to let them know we’re sitting here without heat for the last 48hrs and will be heading into a cold weekend. Absolutely awful. They ghosted us. We had a service contact with Strand Bros for years. No more.

Tristan did a spring service checkup on the heat/AC, and was great. Just like every other Strand Brothers tech who's been out, he's polite, friendly, professional and knowledgeable. And on time. He also had good suggestions for system upgrades to keep it running as it ages. So far so great with Strand.

But mostly, I appreciate Marco and Jose for coming back out after the fact to ensure the job was done properly at no charge after the installation and them standing by their work. Garry & Richard did a great precise AC install job. Clean job and cleaned the area after completion. Very good communication skills. They answered every concern in layman’s terms. I have been a customer through 2 houses with Strand (back when the original brothers actually came to my house). It has been 18 years! Strand Brothers has a new policy where they send salespeople with techs to your house and spend that time trying to sell you upgrades and new systems, etc., which I did not ask for nor have time for. Nevertheless, while the tech was working on the repair, the salesperson was going throughout my house and looking at all my systems. In the process, they cut large squares in 3 of my AC units to show me what the inside looks like! I asked them if they were going to patch those up and they said of course. Turns out, they did not patch even one of the holes they cut without my permission (guess if I didn't have someone else look at it, I would be needing to replace all those AC units much sooner due to the holes they left in them). I will be terminating my maintenance plan and finding a new company to do business with. Completely unacceptable and all to try to push sales.

The technician Jerry was very professional. After introducing himself he told me exactly what he came to perform during my Air Conditioner system maintenance, kept me informed during the process, and at the end reviewed what was done, what services were available (in case I wanted to contract), and advised me care I could do by myself to have a healthy and operative air system. Five stars.

They were responsive and told me exactly what they found. They were all polite and professional, and luckily they weren’t bothered by my dog barking at them while he was in his crate.

Today I had my routine Strand Brothers service inspection of my HVAC system. Strand Brothers sent three men to help. They used the opportunity as as a training exercise for a new employee. All three men were polite and the experience was positive. You could tell that the training supervisor was allowing the new guys to do most of the work (as he should). My system checked out well according to Gilbert. Gilbert also fixed several leaks in my air ducts at a reasonable charge. My thanks to Gilbert, Deshawn and Adam for a job well done and their attention to detail. I was very happy with todays services.

We had a water leak and a heater that has some issues, we were quoted $5k for the work. The leak got fixed but the heater was placed on hold. We still got charged $5k and we were told that we would receive a detailed invoice with services and breakdown of everything plus pictures to submit to our insurance. They gave us none of this and we emailed them for a corrected invoice which they have not followed up in submitting to us. My recommendation is to get invoices upfront and then pay them because they have no follow up.

My compressor was turned off by a previous tech maintenance so AC wasn’t cooling. Mike Lira #2113 found the issue and was transparent about what caused it which I appreciated. He also fixed some other issues so now my AC is working well. Overall good experience.

This place used to be top notch, not sure what happened but its a done deal for us. One of our thermostats went out a couple weeks ago so I called for a technician to come out. He said the screen just went out that the unit itself was ok, then proceeded to tell me the new one would be $1075.00 and come with a 10 year warranty. I got excited because the one that went out was barely 5 years old..... Nope! Not a chance, they, conveniently, didn't offer warranties back then. Lol. I ended up buying a new thermostat, that actually has more options form Home Depot for $156.89, and installed it myself. This isn't the only problem, they usually come out twice a year to do the routine check up on both systems, this isn't a free process, and when I called to ask a few questions about why this thermostat didn't have a warranty and why they haven't been out the rude lady told me we haven't called to schedule. We never have called and scheduled anything, they always called us the day before. So I asked to talk to the manager, conveniently, he was out of the office that day. No problem, have him call me when he gets back in. No call 3 days later so I called and got to talk to the rude lady again and asked to speak to the manager, annnnnnnnddddd conveniently, he wasn't available. Never heard from the manager and it's been two weeks now. Needless to say we're going with a new company for all our HVAC needs.
