We used this company for solar panels. Salesperson was Jaime Ruiz. Supposedly lives in my neighborhood. We financed $95,000 of solar panels, electric work and a Generac generator. Part of the sales pitch was he would pay 6 months loan payments and we would get the IRS rebate. We were installed in October and have been asking for the loan payments since at least December and have yet to be reimbursed. Two weekends in a row we were told he (Jaime Ruiz) would be by with payment and he has no showed two weekends in a row. We have also texted the owner, Eric, who has been unresponsive. Super unprofessional. Super deceptive business practices. Next stop BBB. Do yourself a favor and find a more honest and reliable company.

I've had 4 separate occasions where install people showed up and no one from Greenstar contacted me. Today I called to let them know CPS had been here and the call goes to voice mail. Installers left long piece of metal trim on the ground on the side of my house. I'm hoping there is no damage to my roof because install sounded like a tornado tearing up the house. Wish I had read the reviews before purchasing which is something I usually do. So this costly mistake is on me, should've done my due diligence.

I would go with another solar company if I could. This is not based on one incident but multiple already. From the beginning the sales representatives were pushy (condescending at times) trying to get us to go solar. Since we did already want solar we decided why not and ignored the behavior. The sales reps were also very poorly informed and kept telling us we would receive $13K as a rebate to help pay off the loan or to use towards anything else but that was incorrect. It was a tax break or something which didn't really help us since we don't pay anything close to that amount in taxes. Next, upon installation they failed to thoroughly check our houses wiring and cut the connection/electricity to our back house and told us we had to get that fixed on our own. Ridiculous in my opinion since they are supposed to be the electricity experts and could have told us this beforehand and we would have tried to work something out. More recently, the solar panels failed to produce for a month and we weren't aware until our electricity bill came in $300+ more than normal. Getting in touch with them was a pain and they kept sending us to different people. When the worker came to check out the problem they said it was something that they would order and we would be without the panels for about another 3 weeks. He said we would be compensated for the 2 months without power but (to no surprise) when the issue was resolved and we tried to get reimbursed the managers said we should have called when the issue started (which we couldn't have know about until after our bill came) and since they had no control over when the part was going to come in they couldn't do anything about the 3 weeks when we weren't producing energy. So we are down $600+ . Horrible company. Please do think about going solar but go elsewhere for better service.

Owner threatened to put lien on house.Originally the sales people were very friendly. One was pushy, but friendly. I signed a contract with them about a month and a half ago to provide services on July 1, 2021, however was in need to cancel services as something came up. I called through three individuals to get to someone who could help me cancel services for the solar panels and finally spoke with Eric Bowman I believe his name was. Right off the bat from his tone I knew he tried hard to keep customers locked into their deal. He mentioned there was a $2,000 fee to cancel. I said that was really expensive and couldn’t pay that full amount. I also checked my contract with them after the call and discovered a $2,000 cancellation fee was not stated. I offered to pay for the permits. His offer back was to pay $1,000 and leave a detailed 5-star review. I found this to be very sketchy. I offered to pay for the funds used for acquiring permits again (~$300) but he was set on the $1,000 cancellation fee and detailed 5-star review. Reiterating: This was my first time hearing about the $2,000 cancellation fee, again was not in the contract, but hadn’t known this at the time of the call. Because of this “fee” I said I would no longer like to cancel services but would like to postpone the installation indefinitely. Eric from Greenstar Power got very heated and threatened to put a lien on my home if I didn’t take their solar panels and hung up. I called the city to confirm he could not actually do this and get away with it. I also called a broker who sells for multiple solar companies to get his opinion and the broker has never heard of a ridiculous $2,000 fee to cancel. The broker stated you can normally cancel free of charge as long as the services have not been performed. The broker also mentioned he could cover 100% of my energy usage for a fraction of the cost where Greenstar Power would’ve covered ~70%. They seem to be a very small company trying to grow extremely rapidly. I asked to the city to cancel our application so they cannot legally put up solar panels on my house leaving me stuck with their business.

Customer service is non existent. The installation was a horrible experience itself. I ordered a back up battery and the first time we had a storm it didn't kick in so I called the electricity company they said it was getting partial power. So i called and called the company no one ever answered. Left a message got a call from an electrician said he would be out to look at it. It's been three weeks now and still nothing. Tried calling again. Still no one answers. I'm paying for something i can't even use. Please research companies before you use them. I made that mistake won't do that again. And don't want anyone else to go through that either.

They installed a solar system on my mother’s house and left her to fend for herself on the connection with CPS. They promised her two months free CPS. She’s now paying a full CPS bill (summer rates) and their lender for a dormant system. They’re Texas contact number is disconnected too. I’m contacting CPS to make sure they can’t do business in San Antonio anymore. They get paid and ditch elderly people like lemon lot car sales men.

My experience with Greenstar has been excellent. They were able to provide me a good value and installed the solar panels quickly. Any hiccups that occurred were dealt with quickly and they were very responsive. They are local and knowledgeable about their product as well as the alternatives. They were fair to their competition and explained simply what they could do better. I recommend Greenstar Power to those also looking into solar energy.

I had a pretty solid experience with GreenStar. The owner (Eric) is very honest, level headed, and goes out of his way to work with you. Even with COVID 19 going on, he still responded immediately to the questions and concerns I had.I had a large car port built with panels installed on top. Once we settled on the size specs, the installation crew was professional and prompt. The job took three days and I’m very satisfied with their work. I come from an engineering background and can tell you the structure is solid and definitely built to last!I highly recommend GreenStar to anyone looking for a cheaper electric bill or anyone who wants off the grid.

They came out saying the pole for my pole needs to be 12 feet. They take it slow and the sales man told them they would cut a tree down and that it was a good go. I made sure that they would take the tree but when the worker claimed they did know anything. Then I went to ask about the man my sales rep and he no longer works there so the tree needs to be cut down. He promised that they would take care of the tree it was in the contract.

(Translated by Google) They installed the solar panels in July 2022, and the experience has been horrible, they do not return calls and CPS energy still has not connected them because they canceled the application and submitted a new one. It's January 2023 and I'm paying for the panels and CPS because I'm still waiting and no one at that company returns calls.(Original)Instalaron los paneles solares en Julio 2022, y la experiencia ha sido horrible, no devuelven llamadas y todavia CPS energy no los han conectado porque me cancelaron la aplicacion y sometieron una nueva. Es eneron 2023 y estoy pagando por los paneles y CPS porque todavia estoy esperando y nadie en esa compañia devuelve llamadas.
