We were having an issue with the 40 year old valve on the water main into the house. I called my usual guy, and he didn't return two phone calls or respond to a text. A friend of mine then recommended David Hicks. They answered the phone, and promptly sent a guy out to diagnose the problem. Ian was knowledgeable and super friendly. He took his time, carefully and fully explained all the options, and came back the next day to install a new valve. He did excellent work, insulated the pipe, and cleaned up the work site.The guy that used to do my work will not get the next call. David Hicks Plumbing will get the work.

This is my second attempt to try to review David Hicks plumbing. Ian and his assistant were awesome! I highly recommend this company. I’ve had some bad experiences with plumbers and this is not an area that you can afford mistakes. This a very trustworthy group.

They performed a complex multi-prong job in my property, soon after I bought it.The job involved installation of four new toilets, performing complex maintenance on a full-body shower, installing a water filter in the kitchen, and replacing two faucets in the kitchen. They also fixed a small issue with one of the tankless water heaters, which they stumbled upon accidentally. This was gratis.The job was performed timely, in the two days as they promised. Highly professional crew. The final charge was as estimated up-front.Nice guys as well!

Ian and Jacob were fantastic. Prompt, professional and did an amazing job replumbing a bathtub and 2 showers. We had an issue with the tub rocking a little after install, so I texted Ian. They came back out the next day and refit the tub, had us check it before they caulked it in. Very professional, great guys. We are very happy with the job they did.

I called them with a list of items, including a new service cut-off valve, water heater installation, and shower repair. The technician that responded handled them all, very well. He kept in contact with me, advising timelines and costs. I will use them again.

Ian did a great job at our house. We had received a diagnosis from a different company that ended up being way too invasive and expensive. Ian showed us the problem ws actually quite minor and fixed it while he was there. I would definitely recommend these guys.

We've been using David Hicks Plumbing for roughly the past five years. They've always done excellent work at a reasonable price. They're not the biggest company, so it can occasionally be hard to get them out on a moment's notice -- but they'll do their best to get you on the day's schedule in an emergency. We've used them for leaking pipes in the attic (which was today's service), garbage disposal installations, new sink faucets, outdoor faucets, and more. We've always been satisfied. Many of our previous service calls were handled by Niles (he's great). Today, we had Ian and Eric. They did a great job and were as friendly and knowledgeable as can be.

A plumber from this company was doing work two townhomes down from me. They entered my property without consent and turned off the water line to my home, when they actually needed to turn off the main water line to all the townhomes (located on the street). In the process, they broke my valve and left without informing me that they had done anything. I only know they were here because I caught them on my doorbell cam. (Keep in mind I did not hire these people or ask them to do anything to my home.)When I came home, my water was not working. It was a Friday around 5 p.m. and the original plumber had already gone for the day. Regardless, it was not urgent for them to fix my water when I was having an event at my home at 7. I’m not sure whether to sue or press charges. Either way, I would not recommend this company.

Ian and Steven responded to several concerns in my home. They repaired my garbage disposal in minutes. I was most impressed with their repair of an outdoor leak which involved the breakage of pvc pipe at a joint underneath the street sidewalk. Under most circumstances, this repair would have required destruction and reconstruction of the sidewalk over the leak. I asked Ian and Steven if they could possibly perform the repair without removal of sidewalk. Without hesitation, they took the time to dig 1.5 feet under the sidewalk to make the repair. I am extremely satisfied and appreciate their pleasant and helpful (and understanding) response to my request. I highly recommend Ian, Steven, and David Hicks Plumbing.

I rarely leave online reviews but was eager to write this one after being so satisfied with the work by Ian from David Hicks Plumbing. I called out another plumber earlier today because of a bad leak, and he quoted me $1,150 for a major overhaul of my kitchen sink plumbing. Plus, he charged me a diagnostics fee of $50-60. He didn't fix anything while here. I called David Hicks Plumbing afterwards for a second opinion. They sent someone right away. That person ended up being Ian. He was kind, courteous and professional. He diagnosed the problem and fixed it in about 15 minutes and only charged the diagnostics fee. Needless to say, I was blown away! I couldn't be happier with this company and look forward to using them again. In the meantime, I'll be recommending David Hicks Plumbing and Ian to all of my friends and colleagues.

When the task became more complex than originally thought, they executed Plan B efficiently.Last week, Ian unclogged a drain that other plumbers had not successfully unclogged for years. He is professional, knowledgeable and personable. He explained things very clearly and executed the work quickly. He also diagnosed an additional problem I asked him about and made an appointment to come back and do that work.

I have recently used David Hicks Plumbing for two major projects and they could not have been more efficient. I am delighted with the work that Joe and Eric have done for me, both outside and inside the house. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

They came to the house a day after they said they would come to fix 3 toilets. After the first visit our plumber replaced the flappers and then left saying he needed to check something and then never got back in contact with us. We called to follow up several days later and the plumber returned to check the toilets again. They sent two invoices to the wrong email address. When we called to see what was going on the gentleman answering the phone wouldn’t help us and said we had to call our plumber directly, he would not contact him for us. The plumber was never able to figure out what the problem is with the toilets and is charging us a very high amount for solving none of our problems. Very disappointed in the service overall. Would not recommend.

First he offered to remove his boots; that alone won him points in our no-shoes home. David Hicks Plumbing came out to repair a water leak in the attic. They were very fast, courteous and professional. I would definitely recommend to others.

I wish I could provide feedback on their work. I called to schedule a repair. Was told they would be out the following day. I year nothing, no calls to reschedule, nothing. I called the day after that and was told I was on the schedule for that day and they would call when on the way. Again, no call, no show. Was it something I said?

I have been ripped off by David Hicks Plumbing twice. The first time they replaced bathroom fixtures that didn't need to be replaced. I wrote that off as an honest mistake. The second time I asked them to literally buy the right hose and hook up a washing machine when they were at my house doing other work. $549.77 later had put in new plumbing to get things up to code.The City had just had an authorized contractor replace the hookups David Hicks Plumbing tore out. The City did this as part of a drainage line replacement to take drainage from the back of the property to the front. When I complained about the work and the bill, David Hicks told me to talk to his employee that did the work. The employee wouldn't return my messages. When I called David Hicks, he said I would have to meet the employee at my house and the employee would call me to set up a time. They employee didn't call.I called again to say his employee never called, he callously stood by the fact the work was done to take the plumbing up to code. When I asked him to come out and show me why the City's work, some of which the employee left in place wasn't at code, he told me I would have to talk to the employee. When I asked to see the permits they got from the City, required if work was being done to take the plumbing up to code, he got really nervous and explained they typically don't get permits. This puts the liability for code violations on his customers, as they work they do is not inspected by the City. When I pointed this out, he told me he would get back to me, By get back to me, he apparently meant send me another invoice with finance charges.I am reporting David Hicks to the City and the Better Business Bureau. DO NOT use David Hicks Plumbing.

I called on Monday after New Year. They were able to come out and totally fix the issue on 1/5. They cost less than $100 than the other two quotes my HOA received (who quoted after the fact). Joe is a very knowledgeable and professional technician. I highly recommend them.

I had my townhouse's main shutoff valve stuck/broken. These guys sent Mr. Niles very shortly after i called. He was everything you wish for when you are looking for a professional at those times.I sat there watched him work. The dude was the biggest pro you can find. I say this as a very handy person myself.The dude was super honest. Charged me ONLY for the time he worked. No games no over charges. He did a job that would take most other plumbers twice the time at least.These people are the kind of honest knowledgeable fast pros you think dont exist anymore.Well they do exist and Mr. Niles was exactly that.Call them and ask if they can send Mr. Niles. David Hicks Plumbing was engaged to do a whole house water repiping job using PEX, for a single story ranch-style house with piping run in the attic. The new piping was required by the City of Houston to be insulated for freeze protection. Three faucet repairs followed and were necessitated due to deposited rust particles from the old galvanized iron piping. Ian, and his helper Jacob, did a great job. They were magicians in snaking the PEX down the inside of interior and exterior walls with a minimum of sheet rock work and no removal of wall or floor cabinets! Ian's follow-ups were much appreciated.

We had our old home water shut off valve replaced with a ball valve. That evening the pipe broke and we had to shut the water off at the street until they could come back out to fix it (it was a Friday and there was no weekend emergency service.) They did arrive early on Monday and fixed it but I had to rewrap the pipe myself. We've had no further issues.

First time customer. I called this morning and 4 hours later Oscar was at my house to replace a leaky shutoff valve for $135. Very nice guy. I’ll definitely call again if there’s something else I need done.
