Very disappointed. $700.00 to replace 2 outside facets. Less than one hour of labor and maybe $30.00 in parts. Beware of horrendous overcharges. In later checking with other companies after the fact should have only paid around $250.00. We are senior citizens and disabled veterans. One would think that they would not be taking advantage of those who can no longer do these simple chores themselves anymore. Will not use again or recommend. I strongly suggest that potential clients price check this company.

With the impending ice storm, we expected some delay for a serviceman to get to us but it worked out pretty much to their schedule. TL;DR: they hire rude/condescending technicians who will leave without performing any services.I should start off by saying I’m a first time home owner and I’m new to HVAC servicing and whatnot. I understand that a unit should be serviced twice a year and balanced when needed. I had an inspection performed and was told I needed a balancing. I thought I’d call A-Star and get them to come out for a balancing, since the first one is free. Also, I figured I have them come out and clean/service the unit before the hot weather comes. Their customer service was great and even offered to service the unit for free this first time. Great!The problem started when the technician came out. He asked me “which rooms needs to be balanced? I replied, “I’m not 100% sure, do you have some equipment that can help or do I need to find the report?” He replied “you live here don’t you?” And “I can’t go around to every room in this house. That’s not how this works”, in a very condescending tone. Did I say something to upset him? I’m not a HVAC expert, kinda the reason why I would call a HVAC technician out here to help me with this. I don’t sleep or spend lots of time in each room comparing air temperatures, I was just going off what my inspector told me. Anyway, I went back inside to find the report. However, since I was feeling rushed, I went back outside to ask him to service the unit while I find the report through the inspector’s website. I guess that was the final straw for him because he said “No, I’ll just leave.” Maybe they typically balance units before cleaning or something, but you can’t even do me the courtesy of explaining that in a polite manner? Just leave? Now that’s what I call customer service!Also, when I closed the door he either said “the fuck” or “dumb fuck”. Couldn’t quite tell from the footage. Either way ??The manager I called was nice enough explaining they don’t service units within warranty, which is understandable, but I originally inquired about the cost of the servicing and was told it would be free. They put me back on the schedule with a different technician, but honestly I think I’m going to cancel the FREE balancing and just find another company with more professional technicians.

Was seen for an A/C maintenance and plumbing maintenance. Beware of outrageous overcharges. For my first A/C maintenance appt, i was quoted for more than $5,000 in services, my A/C system was not even old and it is working perfectly fine. And on my plumbing maintenance for today, I was quoted $300+ for one sink that is slow draining, one sink for $300+. Outrageous prices.

Technician was to perform free maintenance on a system I paid to have installed last year. My downstairs unit was cycling on and off. Rather than diagnose and repair it, the technician tried to upsell me on a new system ($12/$15/$20K) or offered $5K of repairs to the old system. He showed me pictures of mold in my attic and said I had no drainage pan under the old system, both were scare tactics and lies. I opened the furnace, read the troubleshooting label, determined a fuse was blown and replaced it for $3.50. The system is running fine now. I would not recommend this company for residential repairs as I find their business practices predatory and unscrupulous.

Update : After complaining in BBB and Google, two senior managers from this company visited my place and fixed the air balancing issue. They duly apologized for the way their telephone operator handled my complaint. I am changing my rating based on the resolution.Original Post:A-Star was the subcontractor used by my builder to install HVAC in my home. We were profusely sweating in the master bedroom in winter towards spring when we first moved into the home and had to call the builder to check. A technician from A-Star DFW came in to check and he reduced the flow in only master bedroom and told me to call back within 30 days if there is problem again. Since we were in the process of shifting and moving and by the time we settled it was already spring and we did not need Heat. Long story short we had some part of house overheating and some part too cold again in the winter well within the one year warranty period and called astar dfw to check. The technician who came to check said the whole house needs air balance and told me to call back the company to schedule. This is when i came to know that the first technician who came in the Feb/March 202 did not perform air balance. When i followed with the company they did not even give me a sensible/sympathetic hearing but keeps demanding $250 for air balance. I don’t mind paying if the company acted ethically.

They were just here to do a maintenance on April 24th!Starting this afternoon, the ac would not come on. I have been calling and calling, nobody answers and voicemails are full. It states to be 24/7, why is no one answering? I texted through their website, and still no one answers. 10:20 at night and my house is 85 degrees, so unfair. The Tech went above and beyond his duties, to check our A/C system after working hours. He was actually just in the neighborhood and checked it out of the kindness of his heart. He was so nice and understanding even with my 9 year old trying to be his helper. I can’t thank him enough it was 87 degrees in our home. WARNING - DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY! Approximately 4 years ago we had 2 new AC units installed by A Star and have had no issue until this year. One unit stopped working and we called to have them come out and determine the issue. After cancelling on us twice and then finally coming after a week from the first contact, the technician told us our condenser was not working and requested a paper trail of our maintenance to have the warranty cover the part. He said he would request the part without the paperwork and would let us know. After 2 weeks of hearing nothing, I attempted to contact the office to get an update on the status and was told a manager would contact me, Jeremy. NO CONTACT. Then I called again and was told Stacey would reach out to me but they were in a manager meeting. It has been 3 days and still NO ONE has attempted to contact me. Now we have had another company come out and were told that the condenser was not the issue but that the previous technician CUT the low and high pressure switches and compressor 2nd stage solenoid wires, which by the way may in fact VOID our WARRANTY!!!! Simply put, the technician had no idea how to fix our unit and the company's NONRESPONSE to returning my call for an update on our unit is UNACCEPTABLE! I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND this company for your AC repairs! Make sure your repairman knows what they are talking about and are reputable! Good luck!UPDATE: Although the company has responded to my review, again NO CONTACT has been made to rectify or even reach out to me regarding this situation. Par for the course on how the whole situation has been handled! Next steps, the BBB!Unfortunate that it has to come to this, it's called Integrity, you should do what you say you are going to do. Everyone makes mistakes, but you should at least own them and TRY to make adjustments.NEWER UPDATE: Owner contacted us and has rectified the situation. Turns out the coil and the high pressure switch were both bad, they have replaced and the unit is working now! Thank you for making good on your work and standing by your company.

IM A VERY UNHAPPY CAMPER. the 22nd I called to have my AC repaired it was blowing hot air to hot for this. Maintenance guy came out was very nice. He replaced a battery in my switch out side he said we talked in the course of the repair he mentioned setting the thermostat, well alot going on he for got,I paid 289.00 for the work and service call.the Ac was blowing cold air that God, my 12yr grandson an I slept 2night with the window open to get little air so glad the AC is fixed. The next morning I called the office to ask could someone come out to adjust digital thermostat, that we for got to set. They said couldn't send someone unless I paid another 99.00 service fee, I explanation that was part of yesterday's service it didn't have to be him just any body in the area anytime. We just forgotten. They were to greedy and cheap to accommodate à customer without charge. I want use them anymore or recommend anybody.,besides I think all I needed was a battery in my thermostat I ended up replacing it the next day. hummm

The AC tune up service for $79.99 was an utter waste of money. I was promised an indoor quality test and no such test was done. I asked the technician if he can do that and he just ignored my question and pretended like no such test exists. I called other AC repair companies and there is an indoor air quality analysis test that can be done where particulates coming from air are analyzed. Instead what we were given was just recommendations for costly maintenance. Also, the technician didn't even bother checking the ductwork properly in the attic. He just went up the attic and said everything looks fine. I will not be using A-star again.

A-Star installed a whole new unit last summer that cost quite a huge amount of money. They came out for one service call 6 months later. On a recent billing, the company was charging for two units. It is only a one story house and there are no more than one unit. That mistake and overcharge was finally corrected. A-Star was supposed to come out today and do the service checkup between 8 a.m to 12p.m. But they have never showed and here it is 5:37p.m. in the evening, and they still have not showed up.There used to be a recommendation for them but no longer. This company is a big disappointment. Can no longer recommend them. The scheduler or employees who do the scheduling should have the courtesy to inform the client they will be a no show. They are representing a company and the family that own this company.

Our AC went out Saturday evening, and A-Star was able to come out the next day with a $200 emergency charge. I appreciated someone being there because it was Father's Day. The technician ended up giving us two choices. First was to replace our HVAC system. It's 8 years old. The proposal for the new system had a 3.5 ton, but our house is over 1,800 sq ft so probably should have suggested a 4 ton. The cost of the replacement was $11, 398, or option 2 was to replace the outdoor control board for $1,233. We had someone come over today for a second opinion. He found a wire out of place on the control board and soldered it back, charged us $140 total and we have AC again. I'm so happy we got a second opinion! Even if we had replaced the board with the second company, they said there's no way they would have charged us anywhere near $1,233.

My install was quick which doesn’t always translate to the best return on your money. I ended up with 2 returns next to each other. Suspicious but I thought they knew what they were doing. When I asked for a pricing on new vent I was consistently put off by , see how it goes with this set up. Then trying to schedule a “free” maintenance on this has been ridiculous: end up on voicemail with no return calls or get told they’ll get back to me when they have time.If you have the time and money go with someone more established cuz they weren’t even economical.

Tried to schedule an appointment after our a/c stopped working. We were able to get it up and running and we wanted a “routine maintenance” check since it already went down. We got an appt two weeks out, they called the day before and rescheduled for the following week, called and rescheduled for another two weeks out and then tried to reschedule a fourth time the day of the appointment for mid July-August. This is their busy time but obviously it’s impossible to get an appointment. They “added” no cancellation to the latest appointment but they don’t care what the other techs added.

We have been using Air Force One AC for our regular HVAC maintenance. They come 2x a year just to check and replaced the filters.They merged with A-Star and we had our summer maintenance today. They left and said the system is working fine. Several hours later, the AC for our second floor does not work and it's very hot up there. Our nest says no equipment detected but no breakers are tripped. Called A-Star back and they said maybe we can get there tomorrow (so much for customer service). We can't wait. It's summer and it's freakin' hot. We called another company, they came, and said the other company turned off the air handler and didn't turn it back on!!! Are you kidding me!! Now we are out $95. So you decide if you want to use A-Star for your HVAC.Update 8/18/2022. The office manager called and apologize and gave us a $100 credit for future service. I called the next day 8/10/2022 to inquire what service was done since there was no statement of work left when the crew came a couple days before. She found the record but it's blank so she promised to get back to me. She never did. We had been paying $22 per month for maintenance which usually involve changing the filters and make sure the outflow pipe is not clogged. The last service done was in 2021 so I basically paid about $172 and received no service.

I bought a new Grand home w/ 2 units from A Star. They never get the air balanced right on our two room. One is either too cold and the other too hot. They came out several times but could not fix it and they blame the builder’s structure make it so. I wanted to report them to Better Business Bureau for this.

If I could split the rating, I would. Justin, the tech, was amazing. The company however struggles with over booking their techs and not communicating well. Justin showed up 3 hours late due to being stuck out on another job. He was still professional and polite, working as quickly as he could to diagnose the issue and trying to fix what he could immediately. He cleaned up a severely damaged unit and set us up on a repair plan (parts had to be ordered). Justin was professional and honest about everything, there was a lot of expensive damage. 100% would request him again.

I hope you don't ever have a problem at night. Their hours may say 24 hours, but the phone just rings and rings and disconnects. You want to try the chat function on the website? Sure they can schedule an appointment that is first available though they have no idea when that is. Will it be at some random time during the night or the next day. No one knows. Ask the chat people to try the office you might suggest...they don't have access to phones. And that is that. That is the only help they will give you. You think a basic answer like a window of time someone might be at your house would be something this company could provide. But they can't. So I hope you are not like me and that you don't come home to a hot house and get to listen to the phone ring, ring, ring, and disconnect.

I'm aware that it's 13° outside today and snowing, however my heater has been running an average of 20 hrs/day based on my Nest history for the last few days. The house wasn't reaching the set temperature of 72, and was blowing cold air. I called this afternoon and spoke with Melissa who advised me I would receive a call from a technician to further assist me. Jose completely came to the rescue!! He listened to my concerns and talked me through the adjustments that needed to be made to my thermostat. I had no idea that there was an emergency temperature setting that needed to be set in order for our heater to run properly in these grueling temperatures. He walked me through the steps with ease and we were able to resolve my issue. Since it's Sunday I was concerned about possible further issues. Jose assured me that he was here for me and to contact him directly after about an hour for an update, or if I had any other issues. Thank goodness we got the issue fixed together and my family can face these next few snowy days in our warm and cozy house. Thank you for the outstanding customer service and speedy resolution Jose!

I had installed a complete AC and Heating System a little over a year ago. I thought i would wait a little while to write a review to see how the system did over a period of time. Everything has worked flawlessly for the last 15 months. I received a condensing unit that was an upgrade to the agreed contract (17 seer from 14 seer) according to the model and serial number. The new furnace and plenums and additional duct works have helped bring down my utility bills. I also received an interest free loan for 3 years and a box of six 4 inch filters as well. I want to thank Ryan Condley, your salesman and the crew that completed the install one day later. The pricing was way better than the ARS company I contacted who wanted $5,000 to $6,000 more for a comparable system. Internet friends save yourself some time and money and go with A-Star. You won't regret it.

OUTSTANDING SERVICE!!! PROFESSIONAL! I contacted A-Star Air Conditioning and Plumbing to get an estimate on replacing my tanked water heater with a tankless. I already had one estimate and was just checking. The plumber arrived on time. He wore a mask upon exiting his vehicle (this ensured me that he was concerned about my safety and I appreciated it!) he entered my home and assessed the system. I told him what I had been told by the last plumber and he seemed to be confused by some of the information I shared and explained why that information confused him. (It seems the last plumber was attempting an up sale.). He then checked to see how much it would cost to do the repair I was asking for and gave me two different quotes, one for a smaller system and one for the next size up. He then explained the pros and cons of each system. He then explained the cost and that I would get a written estimate via email by the close of business. I'm very pleased! THANK YOU!!!

This is the second company I had come check my ac and give me a quote on replacements. I notified them at 7pm and they were able to come out the next morning at 7am. The other place took over 24 hours to show up.The rep, Jeremy, was on time. He was very friendly, honest, and truly seemed to care about what was best for me.Price wise. They were great. Not only were they considerably less money than my other option. They were also offering better products, better and longer warranty, and more overall work and add ons.The work crew arrived promptly after I decided to go with a star. They were all courteous and friendly and they worked extremely hard and got my ac going within about 10 hours (and they did a lot of work in 10 hours) they were also very accommodating with my dogs which was icing on the cake.I will be actively recommending these guys to anyone I know that needs AC or plumbing work.

My experience with Astar Heating & Air via Vincent Marrone, was an extremely awesome experience.They installed a complete system for my parents 1 year ago, and they are 100% satisfied with their unit, so I decided to give them a call.We were having issues with our 10 year system and I called Astar. Vincent did an amazing job of servicing the unit, and he took the time to bring me into the attic to show me what he discovered.Although it was determined we needed a new system, we felt completely at ease with the final analysis.Not only did Vincent help me into the attic(I am afraid of heights), he patiently showed me the areas of my unit that were malfunctioning and covered with harmful mold & bacteria. Bought new home that came with 2 HVAC from from AStar. One of those HVACs heating was not working and we raised warranty ticket. AStar tech came and realized they did not turn on the gas toggle. Tech admitted that they should have checked while installation. My kids and I spent 3 nights in cold for their mistake.While I thought everything was fixed, I realized heat was not still coming to the extent it should. While Attic was hot, no heat was coming down. Raised another ticket and no AStar technician turned up. 3 days after I called them back and they asked to schedule an entire home evaluation. WTH? I demanded for a technician as it’s freezing in Dallas. Next day tech came and said the blower is not working. He need to order replacement. It’s been 4 freezing nights in Dallas and yet there is no ETA on my issue.Hey AStar, you don’t deserve to leave your customers freezing while you enjoy heat in your homes. Come fix it.

I am sure they are a great company but the tech they send was very young and could barely explain what I needed to have fixed. The videos and photos were of poor quality(short and unstable)The senior tech was stuck in traffic and showed up after everything was complete. They spent 2-3 hours in the house performing a tune up. Not the best experience.

When he came back the next day to start the work, we were very pleased that he was able to just repair 2 things that we thought we would have to replace! We used Nations Home Warranty and they dispatched A-Star twice.The first occasion was for commode issues. They replaced one commode, fixed the flange on the other, and cleaned out the tree roots from the outside sewer pipe that were causing backups.On the second occasion, they repaired two sinks/faucets that were leaking, and did a quick fix on the pressure relief valve on the water heater.Very prompt and courteous service and they got each job done quick.Can't comment on their pricing since we only had to pay the warranty deductible, but we were VERY pleased with their service, timeliness and professionalism.

The team arrived on time. We had met previously and a workorder was done, so when they came they went directly to work.They did not waste not even a minute, but worked diligently. My air conditioner broke down and called Astar on 6/17/2021 for they had installed the air conditioner 2 years back with a parts guarantee for 10 years. Since it was going to be an after hours they quoted a $150 service fee to which I agreed. They also said that the parts would be covered under warranty. I checked with the manufacturer and they said that the parts would be covered. When the work was complete they charged me $189 (in addition to the $150) to replace the capacitor under warranty. When I called the service manager the next day he made excuses that they have to process the paperwork and would not get settled for days and that is why they have to charge me $189 for a capacitor. This is totally grouching the customer. The sales manager promised to look into it but never called back. I called back but conveniently not available. I expect a fair refund.Work Order # 12719July 23, 20213 weeks back your response was that somebody would contact me to resolve this issue. Till now no-one has got in touch with me. This further shows your poor customer service.

My new tenant at our rental house called me at 5:30 on Friday to tell me the air conditioner was not cooling, and the temperature outside was in the high 90’s! I called all my regular people and nobody was picking up, so I googled 24 hour AC repair and up came A Star. They charge a $99 fee for a service call. My system is still covered by a manufacturer warranty so I only had to pay for labor. The technician was at my house for less than 15 minutes and charged me $300 to replace the contactor which took no longer than 5 minutes to replace, including the walk to/from his truck to get the part. So for $300, the tech said that he’d “waive the service fee and call it even”. Who charges $300 for 5 minutes of labor? We will NEVER use this company again! They need to be more transparent with their business practices.

Tabitha was very friendly and did everything she needed to do to make sure we were taken care of promptly! Not long after my call for help, our service tech Pedro came by the house to help. A-Star is the absolute worst. They installed an HVAC system that’s too small for my home and then ghosted me when I inquired about it. My home’s still within warranty (under 1 year old) and yet, they refuse to address this service request. For over 6 months, I’ve been trying to get a hold of Tim O’Keefe, Andy Crawford, and Chris (warranty manager) to ask a simple question: can you provide the Manual J and R-Value for my home so I can determine if the HVAC is the proper size?No one will return my calls. No one will respond to my emails. No one will patch me through to management when I call. All I’m trying to figure out is why my home doesn’t meet my heating and cooling demands. My neighbors, with similar layouts, have units nearly twice the size of mine. Meanwhile, my single story, 2810sqft home has a 3 ton, inadequate setup.In the winter, our home is chilly and in some rooms, it doesn’t feel like the heater makes it there at all. My home office has it the worst and it’s to the point where I’m wearing 3 pairs a socks, a scarf, and a big winter coat indoors while sitting in front of a space heater. During the spring and summer, we had so many issues that we had 3 service calls in under 2 months. First, we learned that whoever installed the unit never activated the second stage so our HVAC was working overtime for no reason. Then, we noticed the secondary drain line in our home’s eaves was dripping constantly and our AC ran all day. We had problem after problem and each time an A Star tech came out, he said nothing’s wrong with our AC and they can’t explain why the unit in the attic is dripping with condensation, why the AC doesn’t cool our home, why the outdoor condenser runs incredibly loudly, and why the secondary drain is dripping water. I’m not an HVAC guru, but if everything’s set up as it should be and I’m experiencing issues, then there’s obviously a problem and maybe it’s the size of the unit.I don’t know if it’s incompetence or simply not wanting to invest time and energy into solving problems, but the people at A Star don’t seem to know what they’re doing.Whatever the case, it’s unfortunate that they treat their customers this way and it’s even more unfortunate that they won’t do right by their customers. Being ignored and pushed to the side is no way to earn someone’s business.

They conducted an air balance where it was discovered that the installers forgot to open the vent to the master bedroom. Jose did a wonderful job, was kind and courteous, also very friendly! Taylor (in the office) kept me informed regarding the tech and where I was in line. I received a call from Taylor, telling me that the tech was on the way. I received a text with the name and picture of the tech, and a link to track his journey to the house! (I was really impressed with that). The tech, Tyrone, explained to me my options. He was very patient with me when I asked to break-down a process or to repeat an explanation. I was happy with the estimate, and the turn-around time for him to return and do the work.I will give an update after he finish the work, tomorrow. They installed a new complete system 3 years ago, but I discovered when it broke down, that they did not replace my 23 year old disconnect switches. One broke down at 3 years after the new system installation (now 27 years old). They wanted $450 to fix a single switch when the part is only $20-$50. The effort consists of 2 screws to disconnect from the outside wall after removal of of 6 screw terminals.I understand the need to charge for labor but $400 for a 20 job is just a means of taking advantage of a customer.

Chris was very helpful, nice, respectful, and professional. Our downstairs AC unit was not working. At first, he identified that the issue was that the breaker was off. It was a simple fix but after switching it back on he stayed to make sure everything was working properly. He noticed sparks flying when he was wrapping up and did some further investigating. He discovered one of our wires was shorted and he promptly fixed it. He could have easily called it good after flipping the breaker back on but thankfully he was very thorough with his work.

I had both my tankless water heater break during the winter storm and A-Star were very prompt in coming to my house, gauging the issue and stopping the water leak. They went above and beyond to source new tankless water heater units and had them installed within a week which was amazing considering other places weren’t even willing to come out to check the issue for 3 weeks. We called A-Star to come make sure that our water pipes were ok after the freeze in February since our water pressure was way down and our water heater wasn’t heating as well as before the freeze. We had used them in the past (but for HVAC issues) because of our home warranty.Upon entering our home and explaining what we wanted checked out, the plumber immediately said he couldn’t do anything about the water pressure or the water heater (without even having done any kinds of checks). Then I mentioned at least maybe checking the sinks in my daughters’ bathroom because the pressure was SO low.The plumber decided to try to remove the aerator. He didn’t use a key, instead, he used a pocket knife and cut himself in the finger while trying to remove the aerator (and also broke part of the faucet on the inside in the process). He then proceeded to “suggest” that we buy new faucets since the aerators were calcified and we can call A-Star to install them.So after breaking our aerator in one of the faucets (rendering the faucet unusable because it would spray water EVERYWHERE), we decided to call A-Star back to see if they could send someone else to come fix what the other plumber had broken. Mind you, we had two perfectly functioning faucets that only had low water pressure before A-Star came. The person on the phone stated that WE had said we’d buy new faucets and would call A-Star when we were ready to have them installed. If you remember, that’s what the plumber suggested. That’s not what we said we’d do.So, thank goodness, the new plumber they sent was able to remove the aerators from both sinks quickly with a key. The issue? He didn’t have the part to replace both aerators. So he left to go find them in the stores or order the parts. Now, we have TWO faucets unusable bc the aerators were removed and sprayed water everywhere! I called two days later to follow up on when they might be able to replace the aerators so we could have our faucets in working order again. A-Star said the plumber was still searching for the part or would order and they would call back.That was 5 days ago from writing this review. Still no communication back from A-Star. In our frustration with the entire situation, we decided to take it upon ourselves and order the parts on Amazon. We fixed the aerators ourselves, even though the plumbers were the ones who left us with unusable faucets. We shouldn’t have had to buy parts or anything if the first plumber hadn’t ruined the first faucet. We would’ve been ok with the low water pressure we originally wanted checked out. Also, the faucet the first plumber broke on the inside is still leaking slightly, even with the new aerator installed.I’m sure they have some competent plumbers working for them, but we sure got the bottom of the barrel.In addition, they’ve been texting me for the last few YEARS with “your technician is on his way to *insert someone else’s address here*” even though we have no scheduled appointments with them. I’ve called about this issue more times than I can count, each time with them saying they’ve removed me from the text messages. And I still get them to this day....

Both plumbers (Luis and Sergio) who have come out to make repairs in the past year were knowledgeable and diagnosed the problems correctly the first time. They didn't try to sell me repairs I didn't need (as another plumbing company did), and they were highly professional. They were also just plain easy to work with, kind, and helpful. I always get arrival updates from them, too.

I called A Star Heat and Air in the morning and they scheduled a technician to call me in the afternoon 45 minutes before he arrived. This gave me time to leave work and get to the house on time.After Jose, my technician contacted me I also received a call from A Star’s office.Jose arrived on time with his ID and promptly started checked out the system. He quickly identified the thermostat as the culprit and corrected the issue.Jose was both professional and personable and I recommend both Jose and A Star for all your AC and heating needs!

Did a full install of ac a year or so ago. More recently came out and cleared up an unrelated ac drain line issue. Estimation support, install, and post install support was outstanding for both the ac and the plumbing service. Would definitely recommend based on the experience.

It was a 100 degree day and my tenants AC wasn't blowing cold air. You got out there the same day and my tenant said the technician was courteous and very knowledgeable! She offered the complements on your service before I even had a chance to ask her! Great job!! Thanks a million!Update: A-Star has mostly been helping me with air conditioners for my tenants, and they have been great! However, today I had a complex Plumbing problem and Tyrone came out and was amazing! He helped I understand some of the issues involved and presented a good and reasonable solution! You guys are rockstars!Update: we need to replace the HVAC in our house. Jeremy was very thorough in assessing our system and walking me through our options and pro's and con's. We are installing the new system in the attic ( the old one was in the hall closet) so there was more to consider. We are going to get a great new setup! So pleased!

We had A Star replace two AC units in our home at a cost of $23,000. One of the units seems to be defective doesn’t work consistently. We’ve had at least 6 service calls when the right thing to do would be to replace the unit. I would recommend working with another company.

I've been working with A Star Heat and Air since 2011. They are very professional and deliver an excellent product. Their team members take pride in their work and their attention to detail is not over looked whether it's an equipment change out in an existing home or a large new construction home. They have and continue to do both types of work for me. As a construction owner people ask me for recommendations for an HVAC company and I always recommend Astar. AStar is the best. I put a new heating and a/c system in with them 6 years ago and they have done a great job keeping it updated twice a year as the weather changes. They have kept me informed of any new options and are very pro-active in looking at the entire system to make sure any issue gets attention before there is a major problem. All of their service people are very polite, wear covers over their shoes, and go the extra mile to make sure I'm happy with their service.

We moved into a brand new home and shortly after we started having air conditioning problems. The air conditioning makes a loud ticking noise when it comes on and goes off. It wakes my family up through out the night. The company has been to our house over 10 times and have made small repairs but the noise continues to happen. Now we are out of the warranty and they want to charge us to come look at it yet again to tell us that there is nothing wrong. I could write pages about our issues but overall stay away from the company. My next step is to contact the corporate office.

I had problem with the compressor as reported by Jeremy, the technician who was sent to assess the problem. He advised us to replace the whole unit and also gave us the option to have the compressor supported. By installing the capacitor, which another company didn't want to do, Jeremy temporarily fixed the problem. He also gave us recommendation to call them when we decide to change the whole unit. We found it above our budget and we finally found a solution from a private person.Thank You Jeremy

Their $99 service charge does not apply to repair fees. They wanted an additional $250 to clean a condensate line. For a whopping total of $349 to do a job that literally takes 10 minutes if you have the tools you can buy off Amazon for $30. What a joke, I'll do it myself.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience with A Star Heat & Air. Jeremy was extremely helpful, professional and courteous!!! He helped me select the very best unit for my needs, immediately got the crew started the same day (30 minutes after he left) and everything was installed the very same day (furnace, compressor, coil, plenums, new duct, etc.)!!!! I called A Star Heat and Air on Monday. Service tech was at my house on time as promised. I called A Star because of a cooling issue with AC unit. 4 years ago A Star installed the evaporator coil and wanted them to check it since it was under warranty. To come and check the AC the service call was $ 99.00. Service Tech was very friendly and knowledgeable and found quickly that there was no problem with Evaporator coil rather it was the capacitor in the compressor that was bad. The capacitor in the compressor was a dual run capacitor which the Tech did not have in his truck which would cost $ 385.00 instead he replaced it with a single run capacitor $285.00. The total cost for the repair was $385.00 including the service call $ 99.00. I had a coupon for $45.99 and total cost for the repair was approximately $339.95. After talking to other people I found that the single run capacitor was only $105.00 and a dual run capacitor was around $185.00. It appears that A Star definitely over charged for the parts.

The guy told us that we have to replace the entire furnace because the control board is shorted and quoted $4100 for that, telling us that we won’t be able to find parts for 18yo furnace. After a small research, we replaced the control board and a transformer, and everything works! Very unprofessional to recommend to buy and install the entire unit instead of checking if the parts are available. He still collected $99 for a call.

I received service to have a capacitor replaced. The serviceman quoted me $375 just for the part. He also recommended a part listed on the schematic on the unit panel which he also quoted at $375 but he could offer a bundle price of $550 for both. I agreed to both. Subsequently, I discovered that each retailed for less than $25. i called and asked for a breakdown for parts and labor. The guy was there less than an hour. They could not give me a detailed breakdown but rather provided some lame explanation about pricing structure to cover the cost of all their trucks, blah, blah. It should be a simple explanation of price for parts and price for labor. I will not use them again.

Disappointing at best.A Star improperly diagnosed a slab leak the day before Thanksgiving and turned my water off, quoting me $5,700 to $8,000 to tunnel under the home to see what’s going on. Family had to stay in a hotel over holiday weekend and another reputable plumbing company found the leak Monday morning in the front yard and fixed it the next day. While A Star is willing to refund a portion of their leak detection fee, they are unwilling to reimburse any displacement costs, despite their conviction in slab leak and refusal to turn my water back on.

Adam from AStar was awesome to work with on this project. I needed to replace 3 AC units and he came out the next day to quote Trane systems. He recommended upgrading my upstairs unit from 3 to 4 ton as the old unit struggled to keep temps under 80 in July and August. I ended up going with (1) 2 ton and (2) 4 ton units. I was asking for American Standard and Adam was able to quote Trane systems for close to the same price. Install crew were very professional and took out 3 old units and installed 3 new all in the same day. Excellent experience!

I have trouble with any of these types of services as I feel no matter what’s wrong with my system I always get the scare tactic upsell to get me into a multi thousand dollar system. Luckily, i had gone through paying Service fees to get a few quotes and ideas to fix my hot air blowing AC... by the time A star got here I had a pretty good idea what needed to be done. They gave me suggestions that were what consistent with everyone else but with out all the extra bs that a certain Mile*cough was trying to charge me. Freedom of information is available on the internet so do your research and learn so you get a sense of what’s bs and what’s real to make the best and smartest investment into your home.All and all I got a quote for what needed to be done, the same day I called, They then fixed it the day after. They were fast effective, polite and better not best affordability rates. I'll will use them again. But do yourself a favor and get multiple opinions.. worth the service cost

Fantastic!!! Sergio & James took the time to listen to me and though replacing the shoe gasket was difficult due to the original builders of our 1994 house, Sergio took the time and even had to make a run to Home Depot to get a thinner Shoe Gasket, he got it in and the new drain sealed with putty. And he stayed around at least a half hour to run the leak tests, and no water showed up in my living room or hallway!!! YAY! YAY! YAY! Thank you Sergio & James for your hard work! Thank you A Star Plumbing for dealing with me and my schedule. I will be using your service again if/when we have the need! Thank you so much! One less worry off my very cluttered mind! Thank You! Have been hiring HVAC companies for years to do PM on my units, make repairs when needed and AStar is the absolute best! This is my second year with them. The Tech, Ryan (love that they send the same one) is professional, friendly, makes sure all my questions were answered,. These techs are the most professionally dressed and equipped I have seen. They clean up any mess they have made. They are very thorough. Never had a company go through to each room and check the air temp coming out of each vent. AStar has a great maintenance program and you can pay for it on a monthly basis which is great for those of us on a budget. The office keeps in touch with you through the process and sends you emails and texts with a pic of the tech and his name so you know exactly who is coming. In this day, unfortunately, you cannot be too careful. I love the respect AStar gives to me. I cannot recommend them enough. FANTASTIC COMPANY!!!

Worst experience with initial visit from a repairman that i have ever had. The worker was strictly factual, no personality. He had the audacity to give me a quote 10 x's more than it should have been. The part costs for a condensation water pump is $153.06 online and one to two hours of labor would have been required, not $1,549.00 for parts and labor that the work was estimated at. In addition the estimate clearly stated: WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY WATER LEAKS OR DAMAGE CAUSED BY WATER LEAKS OR LEAKING IN THE FUTURE. Who in their right mind would agree to NO WARRANTY??????

Although, the A Star team on the phone and the technician Adam were polite and professional, my issue is with their wrong diagnosis of the problem with my AC/Furnace unit and their over priced estimate. The A Star technician Adam told me that I would need to replace my entire AC/Furnace unit to fix the issue with a estimated cost of $8400. I had the issue looked at by another AC/Furnace repair company (Bill Joplin's) who correctly diagnosed the issue as a bad furnace motor that could be replaced for $600 including labor. The technician did a thorough diagnosis of our Air Conditioning systems which was only Cooling the 1st floor whilst the rooms on the 2nd floor was continuously warming - he replaced the parts and installed an additional vent in the kitchen area to evenly circulate the air!Now the entire house and the rooms on the 2nd floor are evenly cooled!Great work!

To whom it may concern not a happy camper with this business,explain what needed service( a change out of valves 4 in total,and a water line for refrigerator) I was guaranteed that they would send out a qualified installer that was capable of performing the task,after paying the copay a tech was dispatched to my home where he changed out two valves( washer connector) but didn't even bother to change out the other two ( under kitchen sink) and the water line for the fridge,didn't leave a work order receipt or converse work detail with anyone but had the audacity to say work order was completed,I feel as though this is a rip off scheme for none service rendered,and wish for job to be completed in a timely fashion or to be reimbursed off all funds out forward in this matter,if someone from corporate could accommodate me with a phone call I'll greatly appreciate it,I wish not to take any legal action but will,I wonder how many off your clients gets this type of treatment Thank you for your time and immediately response in the rectification in resolvement in this,. They have truly 1 star service !They installed 3 new AC system in my house a few months ago, ACs are under warranty, one of the rooms is not cooling, I ask them twice to come to fix it, they refused to come and their response is very rude, I am really shocked that this company doesn't want to warranty their products after install, and I want to let everyone know about this company's poor service and how irresponsible they are !

A star company sent two guys to my house to repair ac thermostat and initially they mentioned nothing wrong on thermostat but problem with fuse and gave some estimation and later they found another problem with contactor and finally replaced old parts with new parts and ac did not fiction and this time problem with thermostat and they come up with new estimate so I decided not to go with them and they gave me option to put the old parts back and leave it as before and they did not even charge service fee, though I felt bad about them initially but later realized that they are telling truth and I am dare to tell that they are very good professionals and I should have trusted them in first place.

We are not happy with the service we have received from A Star this year. We purchased a service agreement for our 27 air conditioners on our property. They were to be serviced and filters changed on a regular basis which did not happen. The only service we have had is when an air conditioner malfunctioned. So far he has quoted me the lowest price for a 16 SEER Trane a/c unit. His initial price was very high, but with the price match guarantee, he beat the price to install the a/c unit provided by another a/c company. But I decided to go with the 1st company that had quoted me the price, as they matched what A Star Hear and Air quoted. What concerned me with A Star was I was initially told Trane full system would cost 7000 and coil and condenser only would be 5500. But when they saw the price of All Service Heating and Air, they were quick to match that price and even go lower. That kind of bothered me. If they really wanted my business, they should have quoted a low price, instead of playing this price match game.

So after spending 20k on them... I went back to them for more business... after getting new HVAC systems installed, we discussed about doing some simple plumbing work and the sales rep told me he would get back to me on a quote... but after a few repeated follow ups, there sales rep Adam texts me like he is drunk and does not even take the initiative to help me anymore. I guess once you already made the big money, why support a returning customer? I would have paid another company more money then to deal with unprofessional annoyances like this. Worst customer service experience from a male “manager” named Steve. Extremely unprofessional and rude. This man planned on charging me $99 to come “look” at the ac and test the differential temperature differences when the temp outside was in the 40’s.When I called two other companies, they both told me that it is not possible to test the differiential when the weather is this cold. So, this company was just going to take my $99 and test “nothing” and give me a bogus report.

Update: return trip by Ryan and Ryan went very well. The previous tech accidentally shut down a bathroom (simple miscommunication) - Ryan & Ryan fixed it and redirected the direction of the flow so occupants will be more comfortable - they also made sure to double-check all the vents before leaving. Very professional and respectful techs and we are considering establishing our annual maintenance agreement with A-Star.A-Star / Wilson collaborated on the relocation / replacement of our hvac system (including ductwork) and subsequent warranty work / service calls. Our home has some air circulation anomalies that have been difficult to resolve and we’re still working out some issues (hopefully resolved with today’s visit), but I will say that Moses (sales/planning - A-Star), Carlos & team (installation - Wilson), and Jose (service calls - A-Star) have all been very professional - showing up on time; showing respect for our home by wearing booties, using careful motions when setting up stepladders; showing concern for our animals’ safety by making sure doors and gates are not left open, etc. Also good to note is when we had to call on an independent hvac tech to check on some things that A-Star could not immediately check (we couldn’t wait due to guests coming) and he said their equipment installation was among the better installs he has seen, so that was a huge comfort. (The only reason for four stars is that we never received our new evap coil manual even after several requests, and we did not receive any basic training on the use and care of the new system - it has been frustrating not knowing whether a perceived problem is worth scheduling a service call or is just operator error.)

Unfortunately, they only provide 4 hour windows for appointments, and only between 8a-5p during the week. They also claim to call you 30 minutes before a technician arrives, but both times it was about 15 minutes, and was also outside the 4 hour window.
