I was super pleased with every aspect of the deck installation process, if you're looking for a decent deck builder then this is who you need. I cannot commend their good work enough.

My wife and I purchased our Home, a Midcentury Modern built in 1955 by Ralph Haver in the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix. The Home had original ungrounded wiring with exposed wire splicing. There were also two rooms that were added by a previous owner without permits.

Ultimately, we wanted to fully restore our Home to its original character, while at the same time, installing all of the safety, amenities and conveniences found in homes of new construction today.

We interviewed a handful of contactors for this task, Steve Shinn from Homework Remodels being one of them. Steve immediately stood out from the group. We found him easy to talk to, prompt and extremely knowledgeable with the historic characteristics of our Haver Home.

With Steve’s help, we nearly rebuilt most of the major components of our Home. When it was said and done, we upgraded the entire wiring and electric panel, installed new HVAC main unit and ducting lines, replaced all of the plumbing lines (both supply and drain lines including the sewer), installed LED recessed lighting throughout the Home, constructed a stem wall, a trench drain and added mini split HVAC units which the City required for issuing permits for the two unpermitted rooms, installed a 16” slider to the backyard, utilized steel beams to remove loan bearing walls in order to open up the kitchen and the living rooms, installed a tankless water heater system, applied sprayed insulation in the small attic, and performed various other upgrades.

We are very happy with Steve’s work. We found Steve’s work to be of high quality and found Steve’s expertise and creativity in helping rebuild our Haver Home to be invaluable.

We plan on hiring Steve in the near future to complete Phase 2 of our Home, which will include all of the finishes.

We had been looking for someone to build a shade structure that had rustic wood logs to match our Territorial/Santa Fe Style house. When I came across Mountainscapers Landscaping website and saw the photos, I was hopeful that they could achieve the look. And they did. Sean was efficient and very communicative every step of the way. We were very particular with what we wanted and he and his crew delivered! Whenever we addressed any concerns along the way, he was always willing to do so and with such positivity. I never felt like I was being difficult or putting him out (like my experience with other contractors had been in the past). He always put me at ease and was willing to hear and give me exactly what I wanted. The crew was respectful and always cleaned up their mess at the end of the workday which I greatly appreciated as well. We are so happy with the results both esthetically and quality-wise. In fact, we are currently devising ways to add more shade structures because we love it so much! Will definitely be calling Sean again soon!

We had our courtyard area tile redone. Matt & Max did a super job! They completed the tear off and placed the plywood, underlayment, flashing and battens; loaded the tile on the roof. The second day they came back and laid the tile to finish the roof. We have a 6 color blend and they mixed it up so it looks beautiful! They cleaned up as they went along and were polite and respectful, checking with me as they went along to make sure I was happy with what they were doing.

Honest and reliable

Buildco transformed our backyard. As soon as I made the phone call they came out to discuss our ideas on the yard, gave a fair estimate in a timely manner and started and completed the project as scheduled. From the initial estimate with Gary to discussing the project throughout its duration with Joe to open and clear communication with Rosemary for payments, we could not be happier that we went with this company. Professional and skilled workmanship that we are so excited to show off to family and friends. Highly recommend!

The best in the valley when it comes to pool building. They were incredibly responsive and offered us an affordable quote. The workers were there on time and answered any questions we had. The pool turned out absolutely amazing! I'm going to refer this company to all of my family and friends.
