Best Building A Custom Home in Phoenix AZ

As a single Mom on a tight budget I looked into several options for our bathroom remodel and found everything I needed with Holtzman's Home Improvement. I love that it is a family owned, family operated business. Brandon was excellent in communication throughout the entire process. He was patient with all my questions and if there was a concern, he was prompt to put any worries to rest. They were prompt, dependable and professional. They were very reasonably priced, and our finished bath turned out beyond anything that I could have imagined. I would highly recommend them and if I have any future remodeling needs, I will definitely be a repeat customer. You cannot go wrong with Holtzman's Home Improvement. We live in a historic home (1926) and needed to have the bathroom completely remodeled. We hired Homework Remodels to take everything out (tile floor, walls, ceiling, tub, toilet, vanity, etc) and install a new bathroom. They were very professional and were great to work with. We explained the items that we wanted, and they provided information on those items as well as other options, which we greatly appreciated. They communicated very well throughout the project, and we were extremely happy with the end result. Working on historic homes can be difficult and unpredictable, but their expertise made it look easy. This bathroom is the only bathroom in our house, and they managed to keep it functional throughout the entire construction phase, which is an incredibile feat. Our new bathroom is beautiful and is better than what we expected - great quality of work! We finally have a bathroom that we are proud of. We will definitely hire them again for future projects. I highly recommend them.

When Mr. Jered came to PJHussey every work order I had was immidiately addressed and repairs were done quicker than I had hope.

I would give 0 if I could. I sincerely wish that we had the positive experiences that other reviewers seem to have had... it is hard to believe they dealt with the same company. I would not recommend Atelier 507 to anyone, for any reason. I am writing this review because I've noticed an increase in Atelier507's advertising, and I think anyone considering this business should be aware of my family's experience.

We signed a six-figure contract with Bobby in December of 2020 for our home remodel. We ultimately paid that entire contract amount, plus about 60% more.

To this day, the work is not complete. Bobby abandoned the project before we were able to pass the City of Phoenix's inspection process. So, we have not been able to close out the permits with the City of Phoenix.

We were initially told that our home would be finished in March of 2021. It still isn't, 18 months latter. Bobby did find another company to complete the work when we informed him of our intent to file a complaint with ROC after he abandoned the project, so I am hopeful that we will be finished with this chapter in our lives soon. It has caused a lot of stress for our family.

The work that was completed required (and still requires) significant repair and touch up work. The work was rushed and not carefully completed. It seemed that Bobby wanted to complete the job as quickly and inexpensively (for him) as possible.

Some examples: The grout and drywall in and around our primary bath shower is severely cracking. The shower tiles themselves have begun to crack. The drywall around the title is cracking. The shluter around the shower niche is sharp and sticks out from the wall. Our child's bathroom tile has similar issues. The shluter around her tub is sharp and sticks out to the point that she recently cut herself while getting into the shower.

He purchased (basic, undoubtedly inexpensive, white) paint for the interior of the home without consulting us about paint color. We were told that was the color our walls would be painted, because the paint had already been purchased. The paint was thinly and sloppily applied.

The kitchen layout was not well planned. We are unable to open one of our refrigerator doors. We purchased our appliances prior to the remodel; still the kitchen design was not compatible with what we'd purchased. The kitchen backsplash was installed quickly and carelessly: the grout is cracking, and the square tiles are noticeably off center above the stove. The under cabinet lighting was screwed into our cabinets so that the sharp end of the screws were poking through the bottom of the cabinets.

Our plans included a pantry/mudroom, which had to be scrapped due to poor planning.

When we finally had no choice but to move in to our home in October 2021 (despite the fact that it was unfinished), we spent my. first few days there cleaning urine, grime, and pubic hair off of our new toilets. We still find cigarette butts in our yard. A custom-built entertainment center was damaged. A box full of our clothing was used as a trashcan (and cigarette receptacle). There is paint splattered on our flagstone patio and pool deck. Our kitchen cabinets were full of trash. The crew left behind their garbage and extra supplies for us to clean up.

We have paid Bobby every cent we owed. And when we were asked to make progress payments early to accommodate Bobby's vacations, we did. Still, when we expressed concerns, we were reminded of the fact that Bobby was trying to run a business, that it wasn't worth it to him to have anyone come to our home to address issues, and that there was a million dollar project that was Bobby's priority. At the beginning, Bobby was professional and accommodating... that did not last.

I hesitated to post a review prior to our home passing a City inspection because I just want the project finished so that our family can move on. It's been a year since we moved into a construction zone, and this process has been a nightmare. I hope that sharing our experience helps others to make an informed choice.

Was so happy to find a contractor who would do a small job. Others are only interested in securing large orders. Very happy with the speed of getting things set up and the quality workmanship.

We buit our house with David Mikes. We were worried we wouldn't know how to handle such a large project. Fortunately, we were lucky enough to have David as our contractor.

David would set up weekly meetings with his subcontractor or company contact. We would meet with David and the specialist in the area we were looking at that week. The meetings were always very productive because David was right there helping with decisions, dimensions, architectural plans and logistics to make the process smooth.

I have four other fiends who were building at the same time with other companies. They did not have the same easy experience we had. Most of them had to hire designers and work on their own schedules to make selections needed to move forward in a timely manor.

David was very good about reminding us about costs. He wanted to make sure there were no surprises when we decided to upgrade in many different areas.

We have never had trouble reaching David. He is very prompt in answering phone, texts and emails. He handles situations quickly without any complaint. He has handled the punch list very responsibly. We have no complaints.

Over the building process we also became very good friend's with David Mikes. Through all the many meetings over the build time, he was always very enjoyable to be around. We all have many good memories of building our dream home.

It's so hard to find someone reliable AND excellent at what they offer. Look no further. Excellent service, speedy response, and just a great company to work with! Would hands down recommend.

Can’t say enough positive things about Dwell House. They managed my remodel professionally from start to finish. My finished rooms were everything I had hoped for. They wither well with my designer and handled all glitches and changes well. I would recommend Luke Bourne and Dwell House to anyone and I plan to use them for my next remodeling needs.

After months of looking for a contractor that I felt I could trust and understood my taste to remodel my master bathroom I found Spicegirls. Loved the concept that they are a women run business. I do not live in the US at this time and in so all of our decisions, pictures ect. were done virtually. I was updated regularly. My bathroom has turned out beautifully. Highly recommend.

We are now going on 6 months trying to remodel 800 square feet of existing space and extend garage out. Designer was inept. Multiple things that should have been in initial design weren't (ie: lighting design and reasonable electrical layout, etc). Now these are change order over runs that caost time and extra money. Have had to have multiple fights to have things done right and over simple corrections multiple times. Currently waiting for electrical to be completed finishing 4th week (800sqft totally open!). They are now the joke of the neighborhood. Superintendent no longer would speak to us over the phone or in person, would only text message because he didn't like complaints about the work. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. Plainly they don't really care.
